Author's note: So I won't lie making fight scenes isn't my forté, so I hope I do good enough on this for you guys. Please enjoy what's to come because it will be a big surprise. This entire chapter will face only on this one fight so please enjoy it!
"Come on I figured you would put up more of a real fight, this is just pathetic." Neji was panting, he couldn't understand how this boy was so tough.
He was lucky in shutting down one of his arms, but after a couple of minutes the boy was able to open the tenketsu back up. Once that happened he and Lee lost any advantage they had before. Suigetsu may not be as fast as them but with his body turning into liquid anytime they attacked, it was hard to do any real damage. Lee had taken more damage than him, and in all honesty he was about to tell his partner to use his gates. He was hoping to save as much energy as possible, but the more they hold back the more they start to lose.
"Lee." the boys attention was quickly grabbed as he looked at his teammate. "We don't have much of a choice here, I know we have no practice working together while you use the gates, so we're going to have to do our best on this. Do what you must, you know your own body better than I when it comes to you using the gates."
Lee was surprised, he figured that they would eventually tire out their opponent but the longer this battle drags on the worse it got for them. As it was he had gotten some nasty cuts on his arms and legs from the boy's water sword. Add that to the fact that just a couple minutes ago they felt a really scary chakra source come from where Shikamaru and everyone else was. They had no more time to waste around. "I understand, cover me for a second if I open it with time versus forcing it to open fast it does less damage to my body. I only need 5 seconds for the first gate. I'm gonna skip that and go straight to the third gate, that will heal my wounds, can you keep him preoccupied for 20 seconds please" Lee said with a level of calmness and seriousness that honestly surprised Neji.
Neji had always known Lee to be super brash and outgoing while staying super positive, much like their sensei, but ever since he became a chunin he's changed almost overnight. Neji believes this has to do with Lee trying to fit more into his rank and following after their sensei, who was the exact same way.
"Don't worry Lee he won't get past me, the minute I charge forward you open the gate. Once it's opened give me a signal so I can get out of the way, then we will see how well he holds up against us." Lee only nodded, meanwhile Suigetsu just stood around smiling.
He could care less what the two were planning he was able to move the fight close to a river and now he's barely used any chakra, meanwhile these two were slowly getting more and more tired. He couldn't last forever, but with being so close to a water source he could keep this up for another couple hours easily, which would give Guren and Puko more than enough time to get Sasuke to Orochimaru. Hell if he played his cards right after he killed the Hyuga he could bring the body to Orochimaru and hopefully get a promotion for bringing him two bloodlines. Guren isn't one to lie about mission reports meaning he would get most credit for actually being the one who brought Sasuke, bring a Hyuga too and boy he could kiss the labs ass goodbye. Maybe even be made an overseer if he was even luckier, than the only person he would report to would be Kabuto and Orochimaru. He knew better than to get his hopes up too much though, first he had to defeat these two.
"Alright now" Neji said as he dashed forward attacking Suigetsu head on. He had to be careful to avoid the sword he saw first hand how dangerous it was, his clothes were ripped, thankfully he hadn't been cut yet. His Hyuga training was thanks to how flexible he was. Neji quickly dropped to his knees and bent backwards as he avoided a swing at his midsection. Using the forward momentum he quickly attack the boy's right wrist cutting off the chakra, and smirked as the sword dissipated into nothingness. His eyes went into horror as Suigetsu used his left arm and created another sword brought it down onto the boy. Neji tried to roll away but his arm got caught by the tip of the sword ripping it open. Neji quickly jumped back as he screamed in pain grabbing his arm. Blood started to pour out of it dangerously fast. Suigetsu smirked and charged the boy not letting this opportunity go to waste. Neji tried to keep dodging as he tried to make a tourniquet. He was failing horrible though, he managed to get a few more cuts in the span of a couple seconds, thankfully superficial, but damaging nonetheless. Neji could feel the arm going numb as he felt more blood fall out of his body. At this point he couldn't even tell where the feeling of arm ended and the feeling of blood started it had all mixed together now. Neji got luck and grabbed Suigetsu by the wrist and threw him over his body. He used the slight advantage to break off some of his shirt and was just starting to tie it around his arm when he quickly had to dodge another slice at his head.
Neji could feel himself getting more tired, it had been barley been 15 seconds since he got cut but he was losing blood fast, he used his doujutsu to look at his arm and noticed that his brachial artery had been caught in the original attack. If he didn't hurry he was going to die. "Yippity YOSH!" Neji's eyes widened and he quickly dropped from the tree as Suigetsu missed another attack, the boy was about to follow when Lee had hit the boy so hard he exploded into water.
Lee landed next to Neji, "Neji-san let me help" Lee offered moving to help his friend.
"There's no time Lee he's already reforming I'll do this you cover me" Neji said as the boy reluctantly agreed. Neji started to tie his arm when Suigetsu attacked again, "Lee 3 o'clock!" The boy didn't even turn around he just threw a kick so hard that the air vibrated and sent out a pulse of air that knocked Suigetsu back. Lee than charged the boy down attacking him. Neji knew this was his chance to fix his arm as best as possible.
Suigetsu smirked when he saw Lee attacking him, thinking he would just trap the boy again, but Lee's punches were so fast he couldn't even see the boy's arms moving after a second of getting attacked, he started to feel actual pain. He knew this wasn't good, Lee was attacking so fast he was actually bypassing his own ability to liquify. Suigetsu actually started to get worried, while one of them was out of the fight for at least a couple of minutes, this boy was more than making up for it. It was time for the big guns, thankfully he was next to a body of water.
"Ok boy's you wanna play? Let's play" The boy said as he took Lee's punch and got thrown into the water. Lee knew better than to charge forward and backed up next to Neji. Suigetsu Came up from the water healed and slapped his hands together. It was no particular Jutsu, he just had a great mastery over water. Honestly he was a prodigy from hs clan, even his own brother was jealous of the control he had over the clan's Kekkei Genkai. That's the only thing Suigetsu had though, he always wanted to be a swordsman of the infamous seven. His skills with the sword were above average but never good enough, so he threw himself into mastery of his clan's Kekkei Genkai. With Orochimaru's experimenting on him it was hard to do it, but the man also helped him with his powers.
Suigetsu formed a tidal wave behind him, high and powerful and directed it at the two leaf ninja. Neji and Lee both widened their eyes terrified a the site. They were both strong yes, but a tidal wave of enormous size, this couldn't be good. Suigetsu led forward in the tidal wave, his body was apart of it, Lee got ready to attack the tidal wave but Neji stopped the boy. "We can't! The wave is to strong we need to avoid it hurry Lee" Neji screamed.
Lee nodded grabbing Neji, he jumped into the air above the tidal wave. He smiled as he cleared the wave as if it was nothing, bt as the two looked down on it they were truly terrified. The wave was easily 20-30 feet high, and it's width was nearly triple that. The wave destroyed everything in its path, Neji was sure they wouldn't have survived the impact. The two started their decent back towards the ground, but that's when Neji got really scared. The wave switched up and started to move upwards at the two boys. Neji knew if they got struck they would be done for he had no other choice he quickly made a rotation, something he never attempted before, he just hoped it would still work in flight. Neji quickly moved his body in a circle as he and lee shot towards the ground, Lee saw what Neji was doing and grabbed ahold of the boy helping him spin faster increasing the speed of the rotation. The extra momentum gave Neji the ability to complete the technique and make it stronger, with the extra power he clashed head on with Suigetsu's tidal wave. The minute they clashed into it, even Neji could feel the power through his perfect defense. They were now in the wave moving through it, Neji just hoped he could keep his chakra up long enough or else they would be pulled into the current of the tidal wave.
"What the fuck?" The wave was turned into ice as Neji and Lee broke through the other side before rolling onto the ground. Suigetsu tried to break free as he looked at himself. This is one of my most powerful attacks and these idiots turned me into a damn block of ice how? Suigetsu thought as he looked around.
"Thanks Haku, you back-up?" Neji said as he sat down still hurting from before.
He healed his arm, it may have been wrapped up but he also lost a lot of blood and was weak, mix that with his chakra loss. He really wasn't in a good spot, Lee dropped his gate forms and fell on the ground, exhausted as well. Haku landed next to the two, "Yea, Zabuza-sempai went on ahead to help out with the rest." She said as she stood up straight let the bones in her back crack.
By this point Sugetsu had fully reformed and was facing the girl, "WAIT DO YOU MEAN ZABUZA OF THE BLOODY MIST? OF THE LEGENDARY SEVEN SWORDSMAN OF THE MIST?!" Suigetsu screamed, his eyes showing passion as if this day was the best day of his life.
"Yes, Zabuza Momchi. Wielder of the Executioner's blade" Haku said with a slight smirk.
"Fuck this I need to go see him, and get that sword for myself!" Suigetsu was having a field day, first he got in Guren's good favor and now a swordsman with a sword! He was esatic.
Before he could get to far though Haku cut him off, "You forgot you need to get through me first fish boy" Haku said as she grabbed Suigetsu arm turning it to ice, making the boy jump back as his arm ripped off.
"Fucking bitch, gonna make this hard for me I see."
"Hard for you but easy for me, I'm from the Yuki clan" Haku said with a smirk as the boy's face dropped.
"Fuck, I was really hoping you wouldn't say that, and here I thought all you fuckers died in the bloodline purges, but like me I guess your clan is resiliant." Suigetsu said. Now he was really fucked. His ability was really weak against her because of her ice she could literally negate any attack he would use by freezing it. Depending on her mastery she could kill him too, this really wasn't good for him. The other two may be out of commission but she was fresh and ready to fight. Plus that tidal wave took a good chunk out of him chakra wise he couldn't keep going forever. This water being so close was good for him but his chakra won't last forever he was running at below a half tank and this was not good.
Suigetsu made a sword, Haku smirked "So you want to die? Easier on me Hozuki" Haku spit out the boy's last name with venom in her voice.
Yup she even knows that my clan helped wiped out hers also…. Not that we had much of a choice they were natural enemies. Fuck this is going to be harder on me Suigetsu thought as he prepared himself for the battle ahead.
"Haku be careful his abilities are frightening" Neji warned.
"I know, you two sit back and watch. After today the Hozuki clan will be no more" She said as she began to move forward.
"Haku-san why do you hate this boy's clan so much" Lee asked stopping the girl in her tracks. Suigetsu dared not make the first move, trying to play this safe and waited for his opportunity.
"It's because of this boy's clan that I'm the last of my clan. His clan helped in the bloodline purges to eradicate my clan because they feared our ice powers. They feared it because we were better than they were due to the fact that anyone who could control ice could negate anything they did by freezing it. From what Zabuza told me this boys older brother is the reason my mother was killed. He was informed of where we were hiding and he came to get us, thankfully I awakened my powers, unfortunately Mangetsu of the seven swordsmen of the mist lost his life that day. I had no control over my powers and when I awake everyone around me was dead. He underestimated me and he died because of it. The only reason I know this boy is his brother is because everyone knew Mangetsu had a younger brother who was more proficient with the abilities that there clan had. No one knew what happened to him, but I can tell that he is the same boy" Haku said.
Suigetsu was taken back, he knew his brother was dead, but he was always told it was just a mission gone wrong. He never knew it was because of this ice bitch. Suigetsu was furious, he screamed when he heard this, Haku just smirked while the boy attacked. Suigetsu came at her like a raving madman. "It's not true! You couldn't have killed him!" He created a water sword as powerful as he could but he couldn't even hit Haku, she was faster than him.
Haku added chakra to the bottom of her foot and kicked the boy in the chest, he was thrown back from the hit, and you could see cracks of ice from where he was hit. She turned part of his chest to ice to make him solid enough to hit.
Suigetsu got even more angry this time he attacked with a multitude of water sharks, being so close to the river his strength was increased of course. Haku delicately evaded the sharks, while also taking some of them out with her ice needles. She still had to be careful as to not get hit, they would do some real damage if they did connect. She could tell the boy was getting furious with how much he was throwing at her.
Suigetsu smirked though, and at that moment Haku heard a blood curdling scream come from behind. She had completely forgotten about Neji and Lee. Haku turned around to see Lee against a tree bleeding from a wound to his side. One of the sharks must have gotten him and it looked like it got him bad, she went to go help, but was attacked from behind. She was struck down from the back by Suigetsu's water sword. She could feel the blood from the cut that was across her back drip down her body.
"That's right you ice bitch, die on your knees" Suigetsu said as he stood over the girl, Haku couldn't believe she had been so careless, and now she was about to die.
"No…" She coughed out. "Not like this"
"You don't deserve any last words whore" Suigetsu said as he prepared to strike down.
Haku flared her chakra for one last jutsu, she hasn't mastered this, hell she's never attempted it but this was her only chance. She went through the hand seals with one hand faster than Suigetsu could see, "Hyoton: Hakai (Ice Release: Destruction)" she mustered out while flaring her chakra hoping for the best.
"Wha? NO!" Suigetsu screamed as his body froze over from the inside out. He couldn't liquidate he could feel the cold, feel his body shutting down. What is this was all the boy could think as he could feel himself dying.
"You're probably confused as to why you can't move" Haku chuckled as she sat on her ass coughing out blood, trying to ignore the pain. "This is one of my clan jutsu's meant specifically for a Hozuki. It negates your ability to turn into water completely making you mortal again. And then it freezes your body from the inside out. Destroying your organs and muscles. That's why you can't move either, every muscle in your body has already been frozen stiff. You're going to die like your brother, underestimating me." Haku said coughing up more blood trying to stay conscious. She was losing a lot of blood, so if she were to die at least she could die knowing that she finished off this boy. I'm sorry Zabuza-sama, I couldn't help you with your goal after all. I hope you don't hate me the girl thought as she sat their contemplating on her life in recent months. Including with her having come and joining Konoha with her master. A lot had changed and she was happy.
Suigetsu was beyond angry at what the girl said. He tried to surge his chakra, go out in one last huzzah. He built up his chakra as high as he could until he felt like he would burst (Hell he probably would into ice pieces). "Fuck you bitch" Suigetsu said as he forced another tidal wave to shoot out while he exploaded into ice dying, but not without doing more damage to the group of genin and chunin infront of him.
Haku was the first to be hit by the wave flying back into a tree where she hit her head and was immediately knocked unconscious being forced along by the current of the couldn't do another rotation and Lee was going to be fast enough to activate any of the gates. The two put their arms up and dug their feet into the ground for a petty defense against the attack. Within the next second the wave hit the two boys and they were blasted back as well. Neji flew back and his back slammed into a tree he heard a crack and wasn't sure what broke, he hoped it was just his ribs. Lee was luckier his leg slammed against a tree and bent out of shape, but that was easily fixable with who the Hokage was. The two tried to scream but being underneath water the sound couldn't travel very far. The two tried to fight against the current to get up to try and get air into their lungs that were very quickly running out of oxygen. They were both failing horrible, Neji's eyes widened as he saw Haku's unconscious form drag by him, she was still bleeding and it didn't look good at all.
Neji started to see things go black and knew this wasn't good, he was too young to die this couldn't be the end. He started to panic which wasn't helping either he could feel his lungs burning from the lack of oxygen. He could feel the sweet embrace of darkness start to take over and then he started to put water out. The attack was finished, there was nothing left to hold the tidal wave together. Neji coughed up, his eyes bloodshot as his body tried to recuperate from the damage to his body. Neji lied their holding his side, his back was exploding in pain and he was still weak from original attack to his arm. Neji grabbed a piece of wood and put it in his mouth as he screamed in pain while forcing his body up off the ground. He leaned against a tree as he looked around trying to find someone. He saw Haku and limped towards her best he could. She was the one with the most damage, he was lucky she wasn't too far from him.
After about a minute he got to the girl, he didn't have the chakra to, but he didn't care he forced his byakugan to activate. He felt his eyes burning but ignored the pain, he was hurting all over whats a little more. He could see she had lost a lot of blood and her lungs had water in them. He quickly took his shirt off and put in under her back to try and stop any more blood from coming out.
Neji didn't know much medically, but he knew oxygen should be in one's lungs not water, he forced himself to give the girl cpr with chakra in his hands. He could see it was working as he saw that some of the water started to push out, he kept going, trying to make sure he didn't push too hard or too fast, he remembered that would only do more damage to the girls body.
Neji kept pushing, hoping to help her, they may not have been close but she still saved his life and that counted for something. Neji kept pushing, even as his dojutsu closed off on him and he couldn't see, he stopped pushing and quickly gave her air, he gave two haste breaths and went back to pushing. He had to save her. He needed to save someone today. All of a sudden Haku spit up some water and then before she even opened her eyes, she leaned over and vomited all over Neji. Coughing harshly as she tried her best to give her body the much needed air it was craving. Neji fell to the ground as he was covered in sweat thanking god he was able to help her. Haku kept coughing harshly as she was trying to breath, after about a minute she got her wits together. She looked over and saw Neji lying their, "You saved me?" she asked even though she knew the answer.
"You're a shinobi of my village, plus you saved me first how else could I repay you? I couldn't let you die, though you did lose a lot of blood, don't move too much." Neji said as the girl nodded and fell to her back next to the boy.
"Thank you, honestly, thank you" Haku said, her voice soft as she turned her head at the boy. She never really knew the boy to much as she didn't have much interaction with the Hyuga clan but she knew of him. She looked back up at the blue sky and saw some storm clouds start to form, they had been here at this battle for a good long time, and who knows how long the two were fighting Suigetsu before she arrived. She just hope Zabuza was able to get to the others in time to help out. She looked back at Neji and saw him sleeping, he looked so peaceful, she didn't know much about him, but she knew he was known to be some kind of genius and a prodigy of his clan so she was lucky that he was their to help.
Haku eyes shot open though a second later, wasn't there another boy their? Lee she thinks his name was, last she saw he had gotten bitten by one of the water sharks and was bleeding. She quickly tried to look around the best she could without aggravating her injury further. She saw Lee about twenty yards away his leg was at a weird angle definitely broken she could see he wasn't bleeding, so hopefully the wound was just a flesh wound because she was in no condition to help the boy out. Haku breathed a sigh of relief as she let unconsciousness take over her. She let the embrace of sleep take over as she prayed for the survival of everyone else.
