A/N: The idea for this story came to me like ten minutes ago while i was listening to This Ruined Puzzle by Dashboard Confessional. So here it is. This is it.

Does he ever get the girl?
It had been a messy break-up to say the least. There was one set of tears, four mouths yelling and two shattered hearts.
They had of course been keeping their relationship a secret, but he was angry with her that night because she wouldn't tell her friends, because, knowing her friends would never accept him, she would never give herself up to him completely. She wouldn't always tell him what was on her mind, she stop him if he tried to do more than kiss her. If she had just wanted to stay a virgin he could have delt with that but he knew that wasn't it, she wanted to but she wouldn't let herself because her friends didn't know. He was afraid he'd never have her completely.
It was supposed to be a happy school graduation ball but somehow it had turned for the very worst. In front of everyone their secret had spilled out. People were angry; very very angry. Ron practically disowned her on the spot. Harry was silent for minutes watching as she fought with Draco; then he'd jumped in yelling at her, paying no attention to the tears streaming down her face.
It ended with Hermione running out of the Great Hall crying. Draco couldn't find her anywhere that night, didn't find her at breakfast the next morning, didn't see her hurriedly finding a compartment to sit in alone on the train home, tears still evident on her cheeks.

It had been a month since graduation and Hermione was just getting home. She'd stayed with her aunt in Scotland for a month, wanting to get away. At the moment she was sitting on the floor of her new appartment in Muggle London unpacking her things.
She opened her third box of books and came across a Fairy Tale book she'd lent to Draco two months ago. She'd found it on her desk when she woke the morning after graduation and put it in the box without opening it. She opened it now, flipping through the pages glancing at the pictures. A small, folded piece of parchment fell out on the bottom of the book into her lap. She laid down the book and picked up the note. Opening it up, she found a one line question in small elegant handwriting.
Does he ever get the girl?
Tears were slowly coming down her face now as she stood up grabbed her wand and apparated to the gates of Malfoy Manor; where Draco was living alone since his mother was dead and his father in Azkaban. It was raining out and she was only in jeans a blue Billabong t-shirt and flipflops. The rain made her bangs stick to her forehead and her hair heavy as she ran up the long driveway to the front double doors. She rang the doorbell and waited, the note clutched tightly in her hand and her tears falling faster. The light in the porch came on and a tall blonde man with sad blue eyes opened the door. He looked shocked and then confused and then happy to see her. Then he saw the tears in her eyes. But he didn't have time to react before she spoke.
"He get's her. That is if you still want me." She said quietly, looking into his eyes; hopeful.
"Merlin, Hermione. You have no idea." He said pulling her into his arms and holding her tight. Her arms circled his neck and she kissed him just under his ear.
"I'm sorry." she said. He hugged her tighter and then pulled back to see her face, his thumbs coming up to wipe the tears from her cheeks, her hands falling to his chest.
"I know." And then he kissed her. His mouth sliding over hers smoothly. The kiss was gentle and passionate at the same time. When he pulled back again her eyes stayed closed for a few seconds. Her eyes slid open and she looked him straight in the eye.
"I love you." she whispered.
"I love you, too." he said and kissed her again.
The End.
