Author's note: So here it is, from here on things get more serious, not every chapter will focus on Naruto or the konoha gang, some of these coming chapters will be focusing on Obito, Pain and Orochimaru. A lot has happened over these years, but for now enjoy this welcome back chapter!

Naruto lay'd on the ground breathing heavy, Jiraiya next to him sitting down, "Damn brat, If I didn't catch you there you would have beat me." The boy grinned as he sat up scratching the back of his head.

"I'm not the only one whose gotten stronger Ero-sennin, you got stronger with me, should we try with sage mode now?" Naruto grinned as he looked at the man.

"Don't even kid, we both know you can enter faster than me and use it better than me. Though If I add Ma and Pop you won't stand a chance."

"Wanna put that to the test old man" Naruto said as he sat down smirking.

"Ah quit it, we gotta get going anyways. Tsuande probably thinks we're dead, I don't even know how long it's been since we checked in." Jiraiya said as he slowly stood up, cracking his back.

"Hey now that's not fair, we got really close at catching up to Atkustuki, they've finally started moving but we still can't find them. The base we found was recently used to! We can't quit now" Naruto said, his voice eager to hurry up and find the people hunting his kin.

"Look gaki, I have no doubt you could probably take them all out right now, they probably aren't aware of how strong you really are anymore and will severely underestimate you. As soon as they catch on though, you will be in for a world of hurt. These guys are dangerous for a reason we cannot afford to underestimate them either" Jiraiya said as the two walked together towards their camp eating apples.

"You're right, but still with how much stronger I am, how much stronger we are. I feel like we could take them on, including if Itachi helps us out. Even with Obito, they couldn't stop us" You could hear the eagerness in the boy's voice. Jiraiya sighed, he didn't want there time to end it had been a lot of fun.

"I'm sorry Naruto, but it's time to head back, I have no doubt that Tsunade-hime has a team of people searching for us." Naruto's face dropped, Jiraiya looked at the boy and felt bad, "Don't worry kid now you can go back to your girl too, you never did tell me how you said goodbye to her" Jiraiya said, while Naruto's face turned red and looked off to the side.

In reality Naruto never did tell her goodbye, not completely, he had been sending her a clone via summoning scroll that way she could more easily into being with him and not be as shy. For the last six months or so he hasn't sent her any, they stopped all contact with the outside world while the two went deep undercover and he couldn't risk any distractions. Jiraiya has perfected Naruto in every way, including espionage. "Don't worry about it, let's just hurry home. Are we going to reverse summon, or run? Because running is going to take a long time" Naruto said with a groan.

"Normally I would make us take the old fashion way, but we should get home, so go ahead and do the honors, and summon Gamakichi." Jiraiya said, Naruto grinned doing as he as told.

"Wha- oh it's you, what do you two want I was busy" The large toad said as he appeared in front of the two.

"Can you reverse summon us please, we need to get back to Konoha ASAP" Naruto said to his friend.

Gamakichi narrowed his eyes, "What's going on? Is the village under attack? Do I need to get dad and everyone else?" Gamakichi was worried at what was going on.

"Not yet, Tsunade-baa-chan needs us. We have been gone for 4 years now, and haven't reported back in almost a year. It's time for us to return" Naruto said, while Gamakichi smirked.

"You're lucky we're friends, okay everyone hop on my back we'll be there soon."

"Wait just a second before we leave" Naruto ran over to Jiraiya and whispered in his ear, the two smirked and snickered, meanwhile the toad rolled his eyes, wanting to hurry up.

"How is it that there is nothing!" She was pacing back and forth, the last known movements of Jiraiya and Naruto was when they saved the Kazekage from Deidara and Sasori from the Akatsuki, but that was 9 months ago.

"No ma'am, we can't locate them, not a single thing no one has seen them, no one even knows what Naruto looks like can give a good guess from appearance, but no one knows his height or build anymore, nor what he wears. His hair could be loong, short we aren't sure, there's too much information we don't know" Shikamaru said to his kage as they all hoped for the best. The worst off of the group was Hinata. Since Naruto stopped sending her clones she could only fear the worst.

All of a sudden a large poof of smoke appeared in the courtyard of the hokage's tower. Everyone's eyes grew large only fearing the worst when two very powerful chakra signatures could be felt, toppled by a large summon, within moments dozen's of anbu where outside ready to and Tsunade both running to the window to see who was there, until the smoke cleared showing a Toad. Tsuande could only smirk, "Of course, the two idiot's just had to make a flashy show coming back like that. Everyone stand down" Tsunade yelled out her window. She looked up to see Jiraiya, and then the woman almost had a heart attack as she stepped back for a moment. "Minato…" she barely whispered out before blinking hard a few times and seeing the man's clothing, realizing it was Naruto. The boy had his hair grown out… than she realized the two were in sage mode also. Weakly she yelled out, "You two need to get in here now."

After the whole debacle was cleared up, Naruto and Jiraiya stood in Tsunade's office with no one else around, much to other people's complaints. "So why is it, that even though I only gave you 3 years to be gone as long as I was kept updated, that you two disappear for over 9 months without a word." Tsunade's voice was calm as she sat down, but the two could understand that she was very upset. She was also finding it hard to look at Naruto, he looked so much like his father it was scary, she already knew what was going to happen the minute he left the office.

Naruto spoke first, "After we rescued Gaara, Jiraiya and myself quickly caught the trail of the Akatsuki and decided to follow en suit. If we could locate there base of operations we could learn more about them. A few times we got really close to finding them, and by tracking them so much, we were able to stop them from catching other Jinchuriki. Two weeks ago we found a base they were very recently using near Yukigakure. Why so far north is beyond us, we know there leader is in Ame, but the village's defense is so tight, it's not worth going after him unless we're going to war. After months of chase with no real luck, we finally decided to come back." Naruto said before finally stepping back.

"Jiraiya do you wish to give a more full report?" Tsuande said after hearing the abridged version from Naruto.

"Of course Hime, like Naruto said after we rescued Gaara, we were able to injury Sasori and Deidara enough to track them. We followed them up to Tetsui no Kunai were they had a base, Naruto and myself took a couple of days to locate it, but when we did we couldn't do anything. They had to many members and it wasn't safe to attack just the two of us. Along with Sasori and Dedari there, Itachi and Kisame were there, as well as a man in a mask who goes by the Alias Tobi. The man also had a sharingan." This caught Tsuande's attention, "We had to lay low, Naruto's training in becoming a spy has worked to where even I can have trouble finding him, so we hid like spy's and watched them for a while. Their leader is a man named Pain who is located in Ame, according to one of my informants the place is impenetrable… for now at least I'm working on that. After a couple of day's though, everyone split up, to be safe we kept tracking Deidara and Sasori, but it wasn't easy. The two had fully recuperated from our attack, and now could travel more freely and easily. The two were set on bounty hunting, putting off hunting on the other Jinchuriki for now. We tracked them through most of the continent, the would collect bounties and give them to this other Akatsuki member, he was half plant, half human. His name from our records is Zetsu, beyond that we know nothing of his abilities besides being able to freely move through the ground without needing air. Anyways, any bounty they collected would be received by this human being, and for months that's all they did, and then we lost them. It wasn't until recently we picked up the trail again, but by the time we got to the base it had already been deserted." Jiraiya said giving his colleague some more information about what was going on.

"That's…. A lot to process, including this Tobi character." Tsuande folded her hands as she thought carefully about her next words, "Okay first things in order, when the hell did Naruto learn sage mode."

"Oh hime, that's nothing, Naruto show her" Jiraiya said as Naruto grinned.

Naruto closed his eyes, "Okay buddy let's scare her"

"This is going to be fun" Kurama responded in kind.

Naruto opened his eyes as he was enveloped in dark red chakra and 5 tails came out, Chakra exploding outwards. Tsunade immediately jumped to her feet as Anbu jumped out ready to protect her, "Baa-chan I'm fully in control, I can use 8 tails fully, but there isn't the space here to do that" Naruto said, his voice more demonic than human as he spoke to her.

Tsunade looked towards Jiraiya as he just nodded, confirming what Naruto said. The oy released the chakra as he smirked, his sage mode no longer active.

Flashback, 3 years ago

"Ok gaki, you're finally picking up what it means to be a spy, you're getting better at concealing your presence, but you can do better." Jiraiya said as the two sat under a tree, eating ice cream together.

"I have a request" Naruto said as he looked at his melting desert, seemingly uninterested in it.

"Oh? And what may that be?"

"Release the seal, not fully though, but as much as you can without getting rid of it. I want to be able to more easily use Kurama's chakra, but not all of it yet. Now isn't the time to talk to dad, I need to wait until the time's right, and now isn't the time. I don't know when it will be, but it's not now." Naruto said, Jiraiya looked at the boy with soft eyes. The two times he met his father, he never really got to talk with him, so it's only understandable that he would want to wait until the right time, it's not like they had much time, in real life it was only about 20 seconds, but in the seal it's about ten minutes.

"Yea kid, it's no problem" Jiraiya said as he summoned the Key.

Flashback end

"That was… intense I won't lie" Tsunade said before realization hit her, "Wait! Why didn't I feel any demonic presence with the chakra?"

Naruto smirked, "Enough use of the Kyuubi's chakra was able to let me filter out his chakra, until his chakra and mine synced together enough to feel like normal chakra, instead of feeling malice and dread you just feel the power of the chakra." Naruto stated before saying, "Also his name is Kurama, not Kyuubi, Kyuubi is just his number, Kurama is his name" Naruto said.

"Ok I think that's enough for today, I need a drink" Tsuande stated as she held her head while simultaneously putting it on the desk.

"There's one more thing you should know" Jiraiya said, Tsunade groaned as her eyes looked up at the two.

"Naruto knows everything" He said, Naruto nodded back, "It's why he decided to let his hair grow out, that was his decision, it's also because I taught him the needle hair jizo."

Tsuande looked at the boy, Naruto spoke though, "I don't blame anyone for not telling me, I understand the complications behind telling me as a kid, the third has nothing to be blamed for, as well as everyone else. Now I get why Kakashi-sensei liked me so much though, I figured there was a reason behind it, and now I understand." Naruto had practiced this conversation a million times, Tsuande wasn't aware of everything, and though he should tell her, more than enough people knew. Not everyone should know the future, including that they will only know it from his point of view, it won't do much good. "I don't hate my dad either, I get he couldn't ask anyone else to do this for him, how could he have someone else give up there kid if he couldn't give up his first. He was already sacrificing so much to begin with. I'm proud of him" Naruto said, meaning what he said.

"That's good to hear, and since you are old enough it's your right to know, it's up to you though, do you want to make a big speculation out of it and have the entire village know the truth, we can tell them together? Or you can tell those you wish to and we can keep it a secret until the rumors spread" Tsuande offered.

"Let's tell everyone together, it's about time the truth came out, but first I want the key to dad's house, as well as Hiashi Hyuga to meet me there while you get the village ready. I only need a couple of hours" Naruto said. Tsunade couldn't necessarily say no to these demands, he had the right to ask for what was his.

The women got up and walked out of the office, within a few moments she returned with a small box. "Here, this is everything" Tsuande said as Naruto took the box, Jiraiya looked at the box and knew exactly what it was.

It took the boy less than a minute to realize it was covered in a blood seal, meaning only he could open it. He wasted no time as he took out a kunai and nearly sliced his finger off to get blood onto the seal, the boxed glowed for a moment before it opened up. Inside the box was a handwritten letter, two actually, one from his mom and the other from his dad. As well as a single key to his house, the key was pulling slightly, Naruto realized it was also a compass built in, most likely to show him where to go so he never got lost. There was some other small things in the box, but he closed it only keeping the key. The box sealed itself back up as it closed, and Naruto put it in his pocket.

"I'm gonna go to the house, hopefully get adjusted… I'll be back around 5" Naruto said before disappearing in a shushin.

Tsuande and Jiraiya both didn't stop the boy for different reasons. Tsunade didn't believe it her place to stop the boy, and Jiraiya knew he had more to talk to women about. Tsunade saw the man's face and sighed, "We will talk, but that will be later for now I need to get Hiashi to Naruto and prepare the village for a major announcement. You should go see sensei, he's doing good, but age doesn't look good on anyone." Jiraiya nodded, knowing that she couldn't really run from him.

Naruto looked at the key as he approached the gate, he looked past the metallic structure but saw nothing. His brow furrowed, he was confused as to why he saw nothing, Naruto tried to enter but was stopped by a barrier, he realized it was another blood seal. He wasted no time smearing his blood across the air, and watched in amazement as the gate slowly opened for him, and he could see the house appear behind it. A full yard, everything overgrown, the house looked like it hadn't been touched since it was built.

The boy didn't even care about the overbrush as he sprinted inside the house, he needed to see what was inside. Nothing was more important but this, the last time around this place was destroyed by pain, now he had a chance at seeing it all. Seeing the home he lost, Naruto's mind was racing as he stopped at the front door. His hand's trembling, he could feel the sweat on his brow as he stood there frozen in his spot. He was terrified of what he would find, or wouldn't find. He had no idea what to expect to see inside, and it scared him so much.

Naruto's hand rested on the doorknob as he tried to force himself to turn it, this was simple, but for some reason he couldn't do it. There was nothing easier than this and yet his heart was racing, and then everything went away and he was brought back to reality.

"We're finally here huh?" A very familiar voice as a hand was placed on his shoulder.

Naruto turned his head over, "Hiashi-sama" Naruto said greeting the man, his hand still on the doorknob, still not opening the door.

"It's okay, you can open it and then we can talk inside" Hiashi's voice was calm, sadness lingered in the man's voice as he looked over the house. He remembered very well this house, he helped Minato construct it.

Naruto took a deep breath and slowly opened the door not knowing what he was going to see. He let the door open all the way, his body unmoving as he looked in the damp house. He expected it to be dark and hard to see, but there was an influence of light from the windows. There was a narrow hallway in front of him that lead to a living room it looked like. Naruto hesitated before he took the first step inside, as soon as he did, he could feel the love his parents left him. The first thing he saw when he looked around was a picture of his mom and dad with Kushina pregnant her hands over her stomach and Minato smiling like a fool.

"I took that picture for them, not many people were privy to their relationship, but I was." Hiashi said as he caught Naruto staring at the photo on the wall over a desk that had a vase with dead flowers in it.

Naruto could feel the lump in his voice, "Kaa-san… tou-san" tears swelling up as he barely got the two words out. Hiashi looked down at the boy, he knew this was tough on him. The boy was strong, but now he's being presented with the truth of his family. This is tough no matter who you are. "They really loved me didn't they" Naruto wasn't stupid, he more than knew this answer. But seeing this was so much more, in the war when he saw his dad, there wasn't any time to sit down and talk and hear everything. He told him what he could before his soul returned to where it belonged, but this was so much different. He couldn't explain it, Naruto set the picture back down as he walked through the hallway, looking at the various pictures hanging up, and different pieces of artwork. Along with some of the medals his dad had won in the war.

Naruto kept walking until he got into the living room, he saw two couches and a lazy boy, a couple books spread about on the table, some notes from whatever his dad had been writing. He looked around at everything and he knew that this was a home, he slowly made his way to the couch before sitting down. Hiashi sat with him, but remained quiet, letting Naruto take his time, Naruto then pulled out a small box that made Hiashi's eyes widen. He knew the box all to well, Naruto wasted no time opening it.

"They left me a letter, I haven't read them yet… do you mind?" Hiashi quickly shook his head.

"Take all the time you need, there is no rush son" Hiashi just wanted to comfort the boy, there was a lot to cover, no reason to rush it all.

"This one's from my dad" Naruto said as he picked up the first letter off the table.

Dear Naruto,

If you're reading this then either I'm dead, or you snuck into my room and stole this out of the box I'm going to put it in. You're due any day now, you're mother is going crazy. We both are so excited to meet you. I'm not a great person, but I am the hokage, why the old man chose me is still beyond me, but just know that no matter what I love you. Time's might be hard, and I may not be home a lot because of my duties to the village, but if you say the word I promise I will be there for you. God I hope you want to be a ninja, there's so much I want to teach you, maybe we could master the Rasengan together, and I could teach you fuinjutsu and then teach you my Flying Raijin. I have so much planned for us, but all that really matters is that you're happy. If I have passed though and you never knew me personally, than know this. No matter who you are and what you do with your life I will always be proud of you, because you are my son. You could never be wrong in my eyes, just know That I love you

It took Naruto a couple minutes to read it, he had to stop because he started to cry, Hiashi did his best to comfort the kid, but to no avail. Naruto couldn't help but cry, he read the letter out loud and it… it hurt him, because his dad always loved him and the first time he met him, he punched the man in the face. He had a second chance to fix this, and he hoped that he could make it right. Naruto felt so weak right now, he hated to cry, but was so overwhelmed with emotions. This was something he never got last time, for him this was a first, it was real and it hurt. He should have known this for a long time and he never did.

After Naruto calmed down he picked up his mother's letter,

Dear Naruto,

So I dunno what to really say in this, you're my kid ya know. And I'm going to spoil the fuck out of you, just you wait. No kid is ever going to have the kind of love I'm gonna give ya, ya know. See your father and I…. we both didn't know our parents that well, I mean he was an orphan through and through, I at least had my parents for a little bit when I was a kid. We already agreed that no matter what you would have us growing up, and I don't care what it takes you won't lose me because even though I haven't met you yet, I already know you're going to be a great person. But just to be safe, I'll be monitoring how much time you spend with Jiraiya, that old perv isn't going to convert you like he did with Kakashi. Oh yea, Kakashi is a great guy, he's had some trouble, but he's kind of like your big brother, in a way me and Minato has adopted the kid. We both care for him, hopefully he gets out of his head soon and see's the better part of life. Anyways I'm running out of paper, so you hurry up and get out of me so I can love you every day

Naruto couldn't help it, he was smiling like a fool while the tears dripped down his face, she writes exactly like she talks. Naruto wiped his eyes as he felt the tears dripping down his face more and more. "They really did love you so much" Naruto's attention was brought up to Hiashi, he had a couple of tear marks down his face, Naruto forget how close Hiashi was to his dad.

"Can you tell me everything please? I know you and him were close, tell me everything" Naruto said, Hiashi sighed, knowing this was to come one day, but nonetheless complied, this was to be a long day. But Hinata and Naruto were both about to find out about their betrothal, so he might as well tell the two about that together.

"Of course, to start you should know that I also had legal parts to take over, what I mean is I watched over all of their assets, and they left you with a lot" Hiashi said as he started the conversation with the boy. This was going to be a long couple of hours.
