Author's note: So here we are again, gathered around in a circle to tell stories of the supernatural… wait this isn't catholic school sorry y'all. Umm… enjoy some more Naruto! Or whatever the fuck this is.
"Is there anyone alive anymore Kakashi-sensei?" Sasuke stood next to his sensei as an equal now, the two at the same height. Sasuke's hair was a bit more grown out now, and he supported a tight fitting t-shirt with the Uchiha crest on the back, with navy blue combat pants on, no pockets or kunai/shuriken holders though, he forgone them for seals on his wrist to store weapons. He also had a sword at his hip, the hilt had the Uchiha crest engraved on it also, it was the same sword he and Sakura had seen years ago under the Uchiha grounds during the invasion years ago.
Sasuke with some help from Kakashi and Tenten found out that the weapon was made from a special kind of steel and engraved with a lot of Uzumaki seals, making it so the sword would never wear down, and never lose it's sharp edge. The sword worked best with a fire chakra nature type, but Sasuke still chose to use lightning seeing as that was his primary nature type.
Kakashi sighed as he looked at his student, "If anyone did live they are no longer here, they ran as fast as possible." what buildings didn't burn down stood chared or covered in blood, whatever the Atkatsuki did here made Itachi's massacre look like child's play. There were bodies everywhere ripped to pieces, burned alive and mutilated beyond recognition.
Sasuke clenched his fist, Kakashi noticing this put his hand on the boy's chest, "Relax there is still some good we can do, but for now we need to locate the Akatsuki" Kakshi bit his thumb, "Summoning Jutsu."
A group of dogs appeared in front of the group, Pakkun sat on top of Bulls head, "Yo what's up Kakashi?" The dog looked around the destroyed village and narrowed his eyes, "You're not back in Anbu are you." The dog said, making Sasuke look at his teacher wondering what kind of things the man could have done to have his summon this worried.
With an eye smile Kakashi replied, "Oh no, this was Atkatsuki not me, were trying to pick up their scent to find them, think you can help? They captured a jinchuuriki and we need to stop them if possible. So you think you can help?" The entire group of dogs sighed in relief which made Sasuke question even further what kind of actions his teacher did in Anbu.
"Sure thing give us a few minutes." Pakkun said as he barked out a command and the dogs all dispersed.
Sasuke gave his teacher a look, the man without even turning his head spoke the unanswered question, "There is a reason I won't let you go into Anbu, there are some things you don't need to worry about, you have the darkness for the job in you. But trust me when I say that it is something you do not want to do, including if you wish to stay with Sakura '' That struck a chord with Sasuke making the boy think hard before he just nodded. The two both then activated their respective Sharingan's and searched the village for any clues.
Sasuke headed down the middle of the village, where more and more bodies lay, he figured whoever came this way was on a slaughter spree, but something about the blood splatters didn't add up. That's when he noticed something strange, and called Kakashi over to him. The man showed up in less than a minute, "What did you find?"
"Look at the battle here, you can tell that whoever did this slaughtered these people for fun and ripped them apart, but look at the blood splatters and tell me what you see. Because from my point of view it's like this man had blood coming out of his own body by the pints, and if that's the case and he somehow isn't dead from blood loss then we should be able to track him by following his blood right?" Sasuke asked, surprising his sensei with the genius behind the thought.
"You have a strong point but we also can't prove that is his blood, plus even if it was there was no way the man could be alive, he'd half to be immortal."
"Well ya see Kakashi-sensei he is Immortal, well kind of at least, he's very hard to kill, stuff like cutting his head off and bleeding him out wont work." Kakashi and Sasuke quickly turned around at the very familiar deep voice of one Naruto Uzumaki who showed up out of nowhere. Shikamaru was next to the boy, they were both drenched in water, and Shikamaru was not loving it.
"Naruto what are you and Shikamaru doing here?" Kakashi said taking point before Sasuke could open his mouth.
"Tsunade-baachan sent us, and Sasuke's theory is really good. The man is also immortal, he's known as Hidan of the undead, he's traveling with Kakuzu the Immortal. The two in akatsuki are a team because of how hard it is to kill them, I mean one tried to assassinate the first Hokage and lived. The other is a follower of The Cult of Jashin and has somehow gotten supernatural abilities that makes him hard to kill. Kakuzu of the Immortal has done what Orochimaru has been trying to do for years also and perfected his own form of Immortality, but the man also has to keep harvesting organs to stay alive which is why he has a human like body, but he isn't fully human anymore either." Naruto said, all three men were kind of just staring at him, because he was showing a level of knowledge no one thought was possible.
"Ok so Naruto somehow became a genius when traveling with Jiraiya, don't know how that happened" Shikamaru stated while Naruto gave the boy a look.
"Shut up Shika, anyways Kakashi-sensei call your summons and lets see if they can follow a blood trail" Naruto said.
Kakashi shrugged before putting his fingers to his mask around where his lips would be and whistled calling the summons to him. In no time all 8 of the pups were by him waiting for instructions, except Pakkun, he was impatient. "What's the deal Kakashi? We haven't found anything yet, it's barely been 20 minutes." Kakashi put his hand up letting the dog know he was about to explain.
"Now now, I have a question for all of you. I know for regular scent's you are the best there is for tracking" Now the man was just goading his dogs to make them feel good, which from the tail wagging was obvious. "But what I need to know is can any of you track someone from just their blood alone?" Kakashi asked, the dogs' tails slowed down before stopping as they started to think, their faces burrowed before one barked out a few times.
Pakkun translated, "Urushi was saying that it's possible, we've never tried. Blood usually has a strong smell of Iron to it, which is why no one tries to use that as a source to follow. But we can try, unless you want to try and find something else that belongs to the guys we're trying to track."
Kakashi gave Naruto a look who shrugged, "While they try I can mass produce some clones to try and find something else worthwhile?" Kakashi just nodded at that. Naruto made a few hundreds clones that shot off searching high and low, while Kakashi brought his summons to the pile of blood that they believed belonged to Hidan.
The dogs started to sniff the blood focusing on it, before they stopped, Kakashi frowned, "What's wrong guys?"
"There's no smell at all to this" Pakkun was bewildered as he kept trying to sniff walking around the blood. "It's like this isn't even blood, I just smell the ground beneath it what the hell." The trio of shinobi sighed in defeat. "Sorry Kakashi, there's nothing to go on."
"It's okay, everyone keep looking, if you find something useful let us all know." Kakashi said as everyone took off hoping to find something of use.
Everyone searched that Village high and low, besides valuables to keep for themselves, there was nothing they could actually find to use in their search. Everyone finally got back together to make a new plan of action. Kakashi let his summons return back to their home before the group continued on. "Naruto seeing as you here know the most about Atkatsuki, where do you think they would be?" Shikamaru asked, seeing as his buddy had been with Jiraiya for so long, he hopped maybe they could use whatever information Naruto could cough up to figure out the location of the Akatsuki base.
"The thing is, it's always so random every time we would find one it was like it was picked last minute. There was no rhyme or reason to why it was actually picked it was just there. But it was always in a cave of some sort, but not always, it's not like it would be hard to make a cave anyways with a good earth jutsu." Naruto said, Shikamaru cursed, there were no cave's nearby, hell not even a mountain. Which means either they travelled to one, which wouldn't be hard they had at least a 2 day head start on them, or they made one and got started right away on the sealing process.
"Naruto do you think you can use your senjutsu to try and see if they are nearby in a cave if they made it themselves?" Shikamaru asked the boy. "If the two Akatsuki members made their own cave they would have to be supplying chakra to sustain it. If Naruto is as great a sensor in sage mode as he said before then he should be able to find the cave, and if not then either they didn't make one, or they are further away than we initially thought" Shikamaru said explaining his thought process to everyone.
"Yea let's get out of this village first that way I can spread my range out easier and see what I find. I get a pretty good range but with how this place is set up I don't know how well it would work" Naruto admitted, the group nodded and they all headed towards the exit. It didn't take too long to get out since there was one main exit, once above ground Naruto quickly found the tallest tree he could and got to the top of it. Once taking his place at the top he started to meditate.
"What exactly is he doing?" Sasuke asked out loud curious at what this senjutsu that Shikamaru mentioned.
Kakashi spoke up, "Senjutsu is a power granted via summoning animals, though not all summoning have them, the once that do give the user incredible abilities. Master Jiraiya and Naruto here are the only two, to have knowingly mastered senjutsu of the toads. I know my sensei the 4th hokage was learning it but I never know if he mastered it or not. The only other person I know to have ever used senjutsu is the 1st hokage and he mastered it to the point that made him unrivaled. As you see now" Kakashi motioned towards Naruto, "Naruto is completely vulnerable when trying to get into sage mode as its dubbed. That's because he has to pull in the energy from all living things around him, from the air and trees to the people and animals etc. etc. It takes time to filter the chakra and make it safe to use and to gather enough to use accurately. From what I know about Sage mode, is that it grants the user the superhuman abilities, more so than us shinobi already have. They get super strength like that of the 5th hokage, their bodies are more sturdy and harder to damage, they heal faster. The users' chakra reserves are quadrupled and every attack they use are 10x more powerful than normal." Sasuke stared at the man with wide eyes before turning to Naruto before clenching his fist.
"So he's just making sure I can never catch up to him in terms of power huh" Sasuke admitted with a smirk. Obviously more angry than he showed.
"As I was saying, the first Hokage was feared because he didn't have to meditate like Naruto and Master Jiraiya do. He could activate Senjutsu immediately and it would last for hours, the normal use time for senjutsu is 5-10 minutes, the first hokage though was on a completely different level" This caught both Sasuke and Shikamaru's attention.
"And I thought Naruto was a drag, I'm glad the first hokage was on our side, and that he still isn't around. That would just be troublesome" Shikamaru said with a groan.
"Sasuke you shouldn't doubt your powers though, it's been 4 years, you have come a long way, not just in power but as a person to. 4 years ago you were obsessed with revenge, now you're becoming a better person, plus you have that power we worked on together." Kakashi said making Sasuke narrow his eyes, he didn't want everyone to know about that yet as he hadn't used it outside training once he learned about the side effects. "Plus you're easily one of the fastest ninja in the village now to, you've outdone myself, Gai and Lee. Your physical strength alone is no joke either. You've become a fine ninja all together, and you're only going to get better in time you just can't give up. You're not past your prime yet and you're already a dangerous ninja in your own right. You and Naruto are both going to go a long way." Kakashi said, Sasuke just nodded as the group turned to look back at Naruto.
The boy's eyes had the orange around them besides that nothing seemed different about the boy. With a closer look though they could see birds were perched on the boy, he seemed unaffected by the creatures though. There was an aura of calmness surrounding the boy that could almost be physically seen. Naruto opened his eyes and the birds flew off as he stood up, he jumped down to his group of comrades. "They're about two kilmoteres northwest of here. I can barely sense Fuu, the Jinchuriki in the barrier. Which means either they're almost done, or the seal they're using is stopping me from sensing her." Naruto said, Kakashi nodded hearing that hoping for the best, though with his experience he couldn't help but prepare for the absolute worst.
"Alright Naruto you lead, don't go too fast so we can keep up, the only person I think could keep up with you is Sasuke" Kakashi said.
"Don't worry about it Kakashi-sensei, I'm actually a clone the real Naruto already took off. We're gonna meet him there, but he didn't want to waste any time so he took off ahead." Shikamaru and Sasuke widened their eyes.
"What the hell does that dobe think he's doing! He's going to get himself killed, they're two S rank Ninja, this is different than your run of the mil missing nin. Damnit Naruto" Sasuke shouted at the clone, who just chuckled.
"If you think I can't handle myself than you're in for a surprise that's for sure, anyways let's get going you won't find him without me and I promise you won't catch up either." The Naruto clone stated, Sasuke gritted his teeth but had no choice but to listen. Kakashi only smiled, 'You're just like your father Naruto, he would have done the exact same thing, I don't agree with this, but I understand' Kakashi thought as the group took off to catch up.
Naruto was racing through the woods as fast as he could, his weights sealed as to give him just that extra bit of speed. He needed to hurry and get there somehow they were sealing Fuu faster than they should be able to, this should only be the 3'd or 4th day of them sealing away the Nanabi. Naruto gritted his teeth as he kept pushing his body to go faster, he was better off than before and now it was finally time to see the fruits of his training. Can he really take on these two by himself, or was all that training not enough.
Naruto didn't slow down for anything blowing through the tree line until finally he reached the barrier. He stopped in front of it. Covered in sweat and breathing hard, his sage mode still active because he hadn't used any of the chakra in it, he looked up at the barrier and smirked seeing the seal. He was hoping to come across this one, because now he would be able to see if his fuinjutsu skills were enough to get rid of the seal without having to meet the seals requirements to disable it.
Naruto sat down opening a scroll and writing out the seal he hoped would counter the one he was looking at. The five seal barrier pass, if he was right this should be enough to stop it, Naruto very carefully filled out his scroll before slamming it on top of the other seal. He activated it and his face fell when it didn't work. "God damnit!" Naruto slammed his fist as hard as he could against the rock cave in front of him pissed the seal didn't work. And even with a sage enhanced punch the rock didn't crack. "Looks like I'm doing this the hard way, Kage bunshin no jutsu" Naruto said not even making a hand seal as 5 more versions of himself all in sage mode appeared. "Let's get this damn seal down and save our sister" Naruto said as the other Clones nodded and they all took off to go search for the points. They didn't have a lot of time and this was just too much extra work they didn't need to or want to deal with.
"How much longer, I'm getting tired of fucking sitting here" Hidan was mad about the situation they were in, he loved the fact he got to kill a bunch of people, but this was boring.
"It will be done, when this is done. She's over half way done, so don't worry it shouldn't be too long now" Itachi responded, his eyes still closed as his hologram flickered in the dark cave.
"Well hopefully it isn't too long someone is stopping the seal." Kakuzu said as some people narrowed his eyes, and Kisame laughed.
"Oh ho, were going to lose two more members it seems" Kisame chuckled.
"This is no laughing matter, you two better hope whoever it is doesn't get in if the ritual is disturbed we will have to start all over." Pein stated, obviously aggravated.
"Good thing we can't die, whoever comes in here is gonna get a reckoning if they stop this ritual, you better believe it" Hidan said, ready for action. Pein narrowed his eyes at the man, but sighed, he had a point. From what he was told the man's heart was ripped out of his chest and he was still breathing and talking, it was slightly impressive. He had no doubt the two of them should be able to hold their own.
"You better hope that this all gets handled quickly, I don't want to waste more time than is necessary." Pein said, his rinnegan staring into Hidan and Kakuzu, the two shivered seeing the stare. The man was scary that was for sure.
"We will handle anything that comes, that's if they can beat the seal though. It's lucky that we got our hands on some Uzumaki Fuinjutsu, this seal is very helpful. I don't think they can find all 5 points, and even if they do, how do they expect to win in a fight against themselves." Kakuzu said with a slight smirk. Pein just nodded and the silence remained as everyone focused on sealing the Jinchuriki in front of them.
"Can we really afford to be taking a break like this right now? He could be fighting right now we need to get there now!" Sasuke said, Shikamaru trying to hide his head as he caught his breath from running so hard for so long.
"He's not, if he was I would know because we use clones to fight and no clones have dispelled which means he hasn't started fighting yet for whatever reason" The Naruto clone stated. Before Sasuke could retort he also added, "And if he were captured I would have dispelled also, so he's still safe."
"We still need to hurry, I have a bad feeling and this is the dobe we're talking about. Strong or not, no one's invincible and these guys are S rank for a reason" Sasuke stated, actually worried about his friend.
"Like I said before Sasuke, Naruto being a Sage puts him in a league all on his own. He may not be invincible, but even I think he could put you down without too much work with the power he's acquired" Kakashi said, Sasuke still wasn't happy but he understood.
"How much further are we until we get there?" Sasuke asked hoping it was too far, he knew Naruto was fast but they had covered a lot of ground, and still wasn't there yet. Is this really how far apart the two still were? Even after all the training he went through day in and out. Had he still not caught up?
"We're close, but we need everyone at full power, Shikamaru needs a rest he will get it and then we will get there. It's better to have everyone ready than have us weak and tired" Naruto stated, Sasuke gritted his teeth, he was right but he didn't like it.
"Fine" Sasuke said, Shikamaru sighed in relief he needed to get his endurance back up. He was strong, but this was insane.
"Just give me 5 minutes and I will be good to go, I promise" Shikamaru said everyone nodded and took the time to relax, Naruto just meditated more, that way when he dispersed he could share the nature energy with his own self. Naruto knew the time was coming that all hell was going to break loose. It was coming soon, he just hoped they were able to stop it, stopping the war would stop a lot, he just hopped that without the sage of six paths power though, he and Sasuke would still be strong enough to stop the other Otsutsuki on the moon. There was a lot riding on all of this, and he wasn't sure about a lot of things.
"God this is going to suck"
"For you not for me though, I wonder though, can you beat yourself" Naruto stated, well this Naruto was a fuinjutsu copy, but still, did it really matter in the end. They were both in sage mode, this wasn't good. The original Naruto ran forward starting the onslaught, the seal was stopped and all the points were broken at the same point, now he needed to stop the copies before the team got there. No need to waste any more time. All the points were gone and Akatsuki was probably already waiting for him.
Naruto looked up at his copy as he pulled on Kurama's chakra, "I don't have time to waste on you, you may be a copy of me, but you can't use this power like I can" Naruto then made easy work of his copy before turning and heading back to where the Akatsuki base was at.
Naruto walked forward and punched as hard as he could destroying the rock covering the entrance, he shook his hand as it hurt a bit doing that, but he didn't have time to care. He looked in there and saw the entirety of Akatsuki standing there, but he realized most of them were just holograms.
"The nine tailed Jinchuuriki huh? Kakuzu, Hidan hurry and make quick work of him so we can finish up this sealing. Do not fail me" Pein said as he severed the link to the holograms and everyone disappeared.
"Tsk, it's like he doesn't trust us, lets go get us another Jinchuuriki Kakuzu" Hidan said with a smile while licking his lips.
"Be careful, he's a sage, look at his eyes. We can't afford to hold back on him, go for the kill" Kakuzu said.
Hidan rushed forward, "I always do!" He shouted as he swung his scythe, Naruto bent backwards letting the blade miss him before bringing his leg up kicking the man in the torso. Hidana flew upwards and landed in the ceiling, the rocks cracking around him. The man grunted before he smiled, "Oh this is going to be fun."
