Author's Note: Hey everyone, how's it been? Hope you all are doing good, life's been keeping me on my toes making it hard for me to write as much as I would like unfortunately. I hope you enjoy this chapter, I tried to make it a little longer for you guys but didn't want to take it too far or else it would throw off my average writing for chapters. Anyways I won't keep you too long, enjoy the chapter!
"If you don't help deliver the Nine tailed brat and the rinnegan, Obito is going to bring it all down. He will expose you and destroy this entire village as if it was nothing do you understand?" black Zetsu said with a snicker as he stared down Danzo.
Danzo was used to getting threats, and he knew how to handle them, but this was a whole different level. He knew first hand the power of Obito, he knew even with Izanagi that he didn't stand a chance of winning in battle against this man. He was crafty and clever on a whole different level, having been personally trained by Madara, having beat the 4th hokage in battle even. Danzo knew his mortal limits, he cursed to himself, "Tell obito to get on the move then. My root tried to attack the third hokage and Naruto Uzumaki earlier this evening. I don't know why they let my agent get away, but something is up. But the Uzumaki brat is here, I didn't know about Nagato though, I'll have my informats look into that while I try to subdue the Nine tails myself."
Zetsu nodded, accepting, "We'll let Obito know, he has plans of invading the kage summit that's taking place soon. Stay away from there or you won't escape, he has some big plans, even I don't know what he's up to." Zetsu told the man, Danzo nodded and Zetsu slid off into the earth disappearing.
Danzo groaned to himself, this whole night had been one long headache, it was time to start putting in place some contingency plans in case he died soon. With that thought going through his head he took out paper and ink and started drafting up letters to his forces.
"Danzo, for your continued crimes against the leaf village as the Fifth Hokage I am placing you under arrest, resist and you will be executed do you understand" Tsuande stated in a room full of shinobi and civilians alike. She had a meeting called, nothing unusual in the day to day life of a shinobi village, but this had the entire counsel in an uproar, mostly the civilian side. Everyone was trying to raise a loud voice of opinion, meanwhile Danzo's one eye was narrowed and staring directly at the kage.
"What is the meaning of this Hokage-sama?! Danzo-san has done nothing but be loyal to our village for years, a better candidate for Kage than even you, some may say. Why of all people is he being arrested." A civilian asked, getting some nods of approval.
"First of all, this is a shinobi affair don't fucking worry about it, secondly Danzo if you so much as move an inch or you root anbu try to do anything, I will personally execute you on the spot" Tsunade stated.
"Whatever do you mean? Hiruzen disbanded my root years ago and they're no longer around. You should know that, I had my own secret service that got out of control. I won't lie, but they haven't been prevalent in a long time." Danzo stated playing dumb.
Tsunade smirked having none of it, "Crow put chakra suppression cuffs on him, Yamanaka-san if you won't mind following Crow he will explain the crimes and charges'' Tsuande stated, Danzo's one eye went wide as he saw the man with the crow mask on in front of him, and the sharingan that shown through it into his face. Danzo wasn't afraid of many things, but this man made him more than just a little uneasy, how did he not know Itachi Uchiha was back in his own village, and working in Anbu! If he wasn't careful his root would attack Itachi half heartedly and die. Danzo gripped his cane trying not to show his worry or anger as Itachi put the cuffs on him. Now he couldn't even use Shishu's eye, something he truly hoped Itachi didn't know about, but he wasn't dumb, Itachi unlocked his Mangekyou after Shishu disappeared, it's very likely that Itachi knows about it.
"Danzo-san if you'll follow us, I will gladly explain to you and Yamanaka-san the severity of your crimes," Itachi said through gritted teeth. The man may be a pacifist, but learning that Danzi had stolen the eyes of his clansmen sent a rage through him that was hard to control. He already knew about him having Shishu's eye, but nothing had come of it, he had the other one, but it turns out Kotoamatsukami was able to be used in both eyes. If he knew back then what he knew now, he would have ripped the eye of his best friend out of this man's skull before burning him alive. Itachi took a deep breath as he calmed himself down, giving Tsunade a nod before walking Inochi and Danzo out of the room.
"Hokage-sama if I may ask what was this all about? While I don't often agree with the old warhawk, why was he arrested?" Tsume spoke up, surprising most of the shinobi side, they figured Shikaku would ask questions first.
"Civilian side unless you have anything to offer leave, you are no longer needed here" Tsunade stated flatly, pretty much they were here to keep the warhawk in check, he would rarely attack in front of the people who backed him. Once the group left Tsunade gladly opened up, "Danzo is being charged with desecrating the graves of the Uchiha as well as secretly using the eye's of the Uchiha to control the third hokage and who knows who else to change things to his way for years. It was subtle but last night myself along with the third hokage and Uzumaki-Namazike Naruto found proof of this happening." Now the shinobi side exploded into questions, no one knew that Naruto had returned and they wanted more answers so much had happened in this morning, and where was Naruto?
Shikaku finally took control of the group by yelling at everyone to shut up. Once all eyes were on him he cleared his throat, "Now that everyone is quiet I think I understand, Naruto was able to finally return home last night after his kidnapping whether through the efforts of his retrieval team or his own accord. In the meantime something happened to him and the third hokage probably at the same time which led to the three of you uncovering this conspiracy inside the village?" Shikaku said, pretty much summing it all up.
"What the fuck is up with you goddamn Nara's seemingly knowing everything all the time?" Tsunade said as she pinched her brow, meanwhile all the rest of the shinobi were still processing what was said.
"Eh, we're just better than all of you because we know how to enjoy the small things" Shikaku said whilst thinking about taking a nap under some trees while watching clouds. "Anyways, if this is true and he's been treasonous for years now we gotta think about how he's still in charge of his own minor army. If they decide to revolt, it'll be all out civil war. Just stopping the figure head won't stop all of them." Shikaku said, making some of the other people in the room start muttering among themselves. "If anything taking him will anger them into attacking to get him back unless he somehow has already stopped them from attacking, which we can only hope he has done because that would be his only way of trying to defend himself in court."
"Honestly let them bring it, as long as we stop Danzo from running the village how he wants it's a small price to pay, including if we can pull info out from Danzo letting us know where his forces are we can attack first. Bring the assault to his forces first and quickly finish them off" Tsume shouted as she stood up slamming her fist on the table. "To think that he stole the eyes of the Uchiha clan to use for his own greed" Tsume gritted her teeth and balled her fist, "It makes me want to rip out his spleen out and tear his innards to shreds for the way he disrespected that clan."
Tsume's outburst was rational to everyone else, seeing as the Inuzukas were a pack more than anything else, they view family above all else. The fact that Danzo committed such a heinous act against the clan, even though it wasn't her own, is still a big deal.
"A fight is good and all but that's not the course we should take right now, why may you ask?
Because we don't have all the details yet, we must first interrogate Danzo to understand everything and then act accordingly. For all we know he has sleeper agents ready to attack if we do execute him. It's best to have the most information possible before attacking." Shibi stated soundly, Chozu nodding in agreement.
"Yea I agree with Shibi, it makes sense to know as much as possible just in case" Chozu said backing his friend up.
"Shibi stands correct, we're not going to make any rash decisions until after Ibiki and Inoichi interrogate him under the watch of Itachi. With Itachi there he won't be able to use Koto freely, if anyone knows what Itachi is capable of, Danzo surely does. For now we need to focus on what was changed, see if we can find any differences that need to be corrected. We need to go through every piece of information from the last 12 years and see what doesn't make sense and try to correct it." Tsunade stated, everyone groaned, especially Shikaku who hates doing heavy loads of work. Tsuande left the room and came back with a couple of random Chunnin who were carrying loads of boxes, at least a hundred in total. "Alright everyone let's get to work, and don't worry I'll have food brought in later" Tsuande stated, making at least Chozu and Tsume happy.
"How much longer until we're back to the village?"
"If we continue at this pace it should be less than a day, we need to restock on supplies so we can continue searching with B-sama for Naruto" the boy said as he looked at the path in front of him, never turning his head.
"Sasuke-san, if we pick up our pace we can get back even faster to report to Hokage-sama and leave back out even quicker!"
"Lee we're already going fast enough, Sakura won't be able to keep up with the pace. Plus there's no need to hurry Kakashi and Jiraiya-san are still out there looking, we'll give them the progress report and then hurry back to meet them" Sasuke stated as the trio continued back to the village.
"I understand Taicho!" Lee said with a salute before hopping back along the trees, "I am sorry Sakura-san I was not trying to leave you behind I just want to get back quickly so we can try to hurry and find Naruto san. I do not know if it's too late to save him or not but-" Lee was cut off when he saw Sasuke's EMS looking at him.
"It is not too late for him, we will find Naruto and he will be okay" Sasuke stated harshly, Lee closed his mouth and just nodded, giving a silent apology. Sasuke turned his head back to the front and forced himself to calm down, his eyes returning to their normal black state as he deactivated his sharingan.
The group moved in silence for another couple hours before Sasuke brought them to a halt, "We'll set up camp here for a few hours to get some rest and eat. Lee tend to the tents, Sakura, there's a river 10 minutes north of here, go catch dinner for us" Sasuke said, the two gave a brief "Hai Taicho" Before dispersing.
Sasuke tended to the grounds setting up some traps before getting a fire started, Lee only took a few minutes to get the Tents ready. Sakura took about 15 minutes before she returned, when she came back she had a big grin on her face as she set down about 20 carp. The three cooked their dinner over the fire, not really having anything to talk about. The three ate in silence, Lee offered to take up the first watch and Sasuke allowed it before he and Sakura went to their tent to lay down, once inside Sakura broke the silence.
"Are you okay Sasuke-Kun? I'm worried, lately you've been more harsh and cold, it's not like you."
Sasuke sighed, "I'm sorry, it's just… I've lost everything once before, I don't want to lose Naruto, he's like a brother to me. We have our differences and don't often see eye to eye, but he's family to me. I don't want to lose him, I can't, it would be like losing you" Sasuke said. Sakura was a bit taken back by that, she didn't know Sasuke cared that much about Naruto it was a surprise to her.
Sakura wrapped her arms around Sasuke and kissed his cheek, "Don't worry we'll find him and bring him back home. For now let's get some rest and hurry back to the village so that we can find where Naruto is being kept. Then once everything is back to normal we can go and kick Akatsuki's ass" Sakura said making a fist and punching her hand.
Sasuke chuckled at his girlfriends antics, "Yea you're right, some rest would do us good" he stated as he pulled her into his arms and kissed her forehead. "I'll take the next watch when Lee comes in here make sure he knows if I don't wake up,"
The two laid down and Sasuke fell asleep very quickly, Sakura wasn't too far behind. Meanwhile Lee was doing sit ups from the tree while watching for enemies.
The boy was pacing back and forth, going crazy in this house. He hated being alone, even though he's used to it, it still drove him crazy. "Ugh why did baa-chan tell me I have to stay home I can't even go outside and train" Naruto was now laying on his back groaning to himself.
He had already read most of the book in the home, that's when he stopped and zoned out. "I'M A FUCKING IDIOT!" He just realized that he never looked through the house for any secret rooms or any secrets in general. He knew the house was special, hell the place was kept in perfect condition due to the seals left by his father. He quickly jumped up and started looking around very carefully, possibly too carefully.
He was checking every crack… in the floor, ceilings and wall to find a secret tunnel if he could. It took twenty minutes before he realized that was stupid. He then started checking books for a secret passageway behind the bookcase. Again nothing, he ended in his father's study sitting in a chair. He looked at the desk that sat in front of him and a wave of calm went over him. At some point in time his father, the previous Hokage, sat here and worked. He sat here and talked with his mom, laughing with her, Naruto started to get a bit emotional thinking about it. He thought about the life he lost with his family due to the misgivings of Obito because of Madara's teachings. He wanted to be angry at him but he couldn't, it wasn't his fault though he was led astray. He didn't know what it was going to take, but he feared the only way to stop him would be by killing him. He hoped he could find another way, but he couldn't risk making the man a Jinchuuriki and him still not remembering everything, the chances of his memories coming back were slim to none at best. Naruto messed around with the desk until he felt it. Chakra, an array of seals spread across the desk when he pushed some of his chakra into it and then it happened.
"Where am? Who are you?" The man just appeared out of thin air, sitting on the desk, his golden yellow hair shaggy; it seemed as if he just awoke from a deep sleep.
"Dad.." Naruto was speechless, this wasn't possible, he was dead, he already opened his seal, he met his mom and dad at the same time. He got in his one last conversation for a second time. He told them everything even though they already knew it, he got to hug them and tell them he loves them. He hadn't cried that hard in so long and yet… here his dad sat, as if it never happened.
"Dad? But I don't have any kids…" He sat in thought as he looked at the kid in front of him, "This is definitely my study" He looked down and saw the seal Array in front of him and his eyes went wide before they got sad. "Oh… oh it makes sense now, I'm sorry." Minato stated, Naruto not understanding anything, he looked at the seal for himself, but couldn't make heads or tails of it. Makes sense though, his dad was a genius beyond comparison when it came to seals.
"What's going on? What was that seal matrix? Please explain because you are dead, how are you here!?" Naruto was almost shouting at this point what else was there to find out.
Minato didn't respond, he instead teleported away, Naruto quickly followed as it was just in the house, he ran down the hall to his parent's bedroom. He had yet to do much in there but there he saw it. A secret passage behind the bookcase in his parents room! But it was just to another closet, Minato put his hand against the wall and pushed some chakra into it and the same sealing array popped up, and this time Kushina appeared. She hugged him immediately, the two still ignoring Naruto.
"Will someone please explain what the FUCK is going on" Naruto shouted this time, Kurama was also curious because he could feel it. It was himself inside Kushina, both halves together. When he came back in time, he was ripped back in half again.
"Minato who is that kid? Why does he look so much like you"
"The seal worked, there should be enough chakra in both of us to be sustained for at least a year as long as we don't waste any. We're clones of the original"
"Wait your clones? So you're not back then..?" Naruto's voice started to drop a little as he was still trying to understand everything. "Please sit down, we all three need to talk, because I'm your son. Your 17 year old son" Naruto stated.
"You're right, because from when we're from, Kushina isn't even pregnant, we were not expecting kids." Minato said, Kushina nodding along with him. "To start from the beginning, I created a seal that would trap a copy of myself and a Copy of Kushina. Not a normal shadow clone though, a blood clone, mixed with a unique type of blood seal that way only someone of our kin or ourselves could unlock the seal. The seal kept us in stasis while absorbing nature energy very slowly so as to not turn us into toad statues. The chakra it absorbed turned into normal energy to hold our form and raise our chakra levels, it did so that way if something ever happened to us we would have a second chance at helping figure things out. But it seems as though the part of the seal that would share our memories didn't work. I don't even remember being put in the seal, how about you hun" Minato looked over at his wife.
"Nothing, just you being in front of me and missing you a whole lot. Beyond that I don't remember anything happening." Kushina looked to Naruto then, "So you're our Son huh? Look at you all grown up, what was your life like? What're you like? And what did you mean we're dead? How did we die? How aren't you dead" Kushina was rapidly firing questions at Naruto, the boy just sighed as he saw his dad give her a look and she got quiet. "Sorry I'm just curious ya know"
"It's okay both of you come here, I can show you my entire past" Naruto said, the two were confused but curious, Naruto quickly did some hand seals and showed his parents everything from his past. He had no reason to hide it from them, they wouldn't be around long anyways… and they were his family why not show them.
Almost an hour went by, Kushina was in tears as Minato held her. She was angry and sad at the same time, "Ima kill Hiruzen, he could have done so much more for you and that old monkey didn't do anything!"
"It's okay mom, he didn't know, you saw everything. Last night we proved that it's all because of Danzo, and Baa-chan is handling it. Right now we need to figure out what to do with you two… you've been dead for 17 years. If you start walking around the village a lot of questions are gonna come up. I need to wait at least a week before telling baa-chan too. A lot has happened in the last few days, and Tsuande isn't very happy with me. " Naruto said very quickly Kushina sighed in a defeated manner.
Minato was still making heads and tails of everything, he saw everything that his son showed him and it was a lot to take in. His childs horrible upbringing, him becoming a war hero, stopping the end of the world, watching his village burn down. Him coming back in time, being naive as a child again before he really started trying to fix things. Befriending people, actively making positive changes. Minato was doing all he could not to have a panic attack himself because it was just so much to handle, and this boy, his own flesh and blood was doing it.
Minato walked over to Naruto and hugged him, "I'm sorry we couldn't be there for you, that you had to do this all by yourself. But now that we're here, we will help you however we can. I promise son."
Naruto was at a loss for words, he wasn't sure what to expect but he wasn't expecting this. Hr broke again, he fell to his knees and started crying, Kushina joined in with Minato holding Naruto, the two of them just holding him as he cried. "It's going to be all right sweety, I'm sorry we couldn't do more but we're here now, and as long as we're here we will do whatever we can to help you." Naruto held the two of them tightly as he just balled his eyes out. All he ever wanted was his parents, and he knows he won't be able to have them long but he has a year at most and he wanted to make the most of it. Which meant making sure they weren't allowed to fight, but it's not like he could use fuinjutsu on these two, they were both geniuses in that field.
After a few more minutes Naruto collected himself and sat with them on the bed, getting up off the ground, his knees cracking as he stood up due to how stiff they were from sitting on them on the floor. "So what's first, what do you guys want to know?"
"I don't think there's anything else you could tell us, oooo but I would love to see Arashi again dattebane!" Kushina said with fire in her eyes, "God I haven't seen him since I was little, he would love to see me again" Kushina jumped up and went to the closet looking through clothes asking Minato about what would look good as both boys just stared at her. "What?" She asked as she stopped in her place.
"Kushina, dear, as much as I would love to go out and see everyone… we've been dead a long time it would raise a lot of questions, we shouldn't let anyone see us honestly." Minato stated matter of factly, his wife pouting as he said that.
"You're no fun dattebane" She said through her pout, even though she knew he was right.
"Honestly we should go see Tsunade and try to explain everything, I left a letter in the kage's office that should've explained this to any Kage to take over after me in case I was ever needed they could use a small vial of my blood to get me to reappear and help out." Minato stated showing he had a contingency plan in place incase of his death. "But then again with the whole Danzo situation, it's very unlikely that the letter and blood are even around anymore. Or no one ever found it, I mean how often do the Hokage look into the Hokage only vault" Minato's face went ghost white as his voice got quiet, "Oh dear god no one probably found out about it cuz the Hokage barley even use it" Kushina couldn't help but chuckle when she saw Minato get like this, Naruto finally burst out laughing with his mom, the two of them leaning over coughing and dying.
"Oh god his face"
"His voice went all pipsqueak like"
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" The two laughed at Minato together, the mood finally litening up some. Minato chuckled in with them after his moment of embarrassment passed by and then he quickly got serious as he pulled out a tri pronged Kunai.
"Someone just entered the grounds, I don;t recognize the signature, Naruto do you?" Minato asked.
"Woah, woah woah! Hold up it's ok. The only people who can enter the grounds are people I've given permission to. I altered the blood seals around the compound. It's okay, it's probably just Hinata-chan…." Naruto's face dropped into pure horror. "Oh god no one knows I'm back yet, you two need to hide she's not gonna be hap.." Naruto stopped talking when he saw Hinata in the hallway looking at him, and his parents.
"Naruto-kun…?" She was more than confused. She then fell straight back as she collapsed into unconsciousness.
Minato and Kushina initially freaked out as Naruto chuckled to himself, "Yea, that's my girl alright, let's put her on the couch she;ll be awake in a few moments." Naruto knew he was in for a lot of explaining when she woke up, so he made a shadow clone to start prepping some cinnabons for her.
It had been almost 8 hours since they had started looking through files, and it seemed as if it was never ending. Tsunade looked up and saw the two piles, one was for things that seemed normal and the other were for things that either didn't make sense or were too fishy to have ever been passed by Hiruzen. Speaking of, said man was with them helping them to understand certain files, and when he didn't agree it got added to the pile.
They were about 80 boxes in overall, the ending was in sight, but there was still a lot to fix. Plus she had Danzo and the leader of Akatsuki in T&I. Tsunade had half a mind to just leave the village but that wouldn't look too good on her part. About half of the boxes they had been through were in the negative pile, which meant they had to go back and amend and fix a lot of things that were falsely passed. They were making a lot slower progress than she thought they would make. Thankfully she was smart enough to keep everyone fed and let them drink, not as much as her though, only she was allowed to be drunk. It did help to ease everyone's minds though, but some of the things they had found over the years, or lack thereof, didn't help everyone's conscious that much. She saw things like child abductions that clans had put in for missions that went nowhere, never even got assigned or if it did, quickly and quietly was cancelled. Saw how much easier the academy was made so civilian born children would have an easier time getting in, which explains how most of the civilian side of the council backed Danzo. He gave them some ins. They saw tax breaks for some of the civilians too that never should have been passed, which explained how the civilian side kept getting richer.
Tsunade stood up which got all eyes on her, she turned around and blew a whole in the wall before sitting back down, "Ok where did I leave off" she muttered to herself, everyone just ignored the woman, not wanting to upset her more by accident. Hiashi took it upon himself to get some Chunin to fix the wall while everyone else kept working. They were easily going to be working into the morning if not longer, thankfully Tsunade had a Clone doing her normal office duties so not to back her up too much.
Tsunade held her head, she just knew that somehow Naruto was gonna cause her more trouble, he better wait for tomorrow though, or else she'll have to put a whole in him like she did the wall. She didn't care if she did that or not cuz she knows that she can fix him up well enough. But with everything going on what's going to happen next exactly? Akatsuki is gonna declare war on all five villages? Fourth hokage is gonna magically come back to life? She snorted as if that would ever happen. He was sealed in the Shinigami's stomach and the reanimation jutsu isn't perfected to actually bring someone all the way back to life, just a zombie. Plus with how fast the akatsuki are dropping, there's no way they would declare war on all the shinobi villages. Tsunade took another shot of Saki as she grabbed the last box of paperwork, she needed to hurry up, and come morning she had to leave for the Summit.
