Check out Alexander Michaels- Curse of Inheritance, a new OC demigod story.
I got the idea, partially, for Aaron using the Earth the Heal from Damasen, who could use Earth magic to make trees grow... I think it is a cool power if tempered to not be overpowered.
I hope you guys are enjoying this, I am finally not super depressed and I am loving writing this...
Love you all!
Jason looked like a Roman god, dressed in his armor. His powerful aura filling the arena with the stench of ozone and might, it was an incredible thing to see and sense. Aaron knew he was going to lose, but at least he would lose against someone worthy, someone that deserved to best him. It would be an incredible battle, if nothing else, and so Aaron readied himself and fell into a stance. Jason did the same, loose and ready.
The moment they were given the go, Jason proved his bloodline by blindingly blasting forward and slashing at Aaron with a long golden sword with so much strength Aaron stumbled back. Barely able to keep up, he slashed with his own sword, twirling his big body to slam sideways into Jason with enough force that it made the other boy step back several steps.
It didn't stop him though, Jason twirled his blade and they met sword agaisnt sword for about a solid minute before his collided againt the base of Aaron's blade, knocking it out of his hands, bruising his wrist as a result. He could barely do much to try and dodge and Jason lashed out, his sword colliding with Aaron's armored elbow, which hurt like a bitch. Grabbing his chest straps, Jason threw himself back and threw Aaron away, showing far more strength then his smaller frame should have allowed. Aaron barely managed to set himself to rights when he saw a golden blade at his face.
"I was right." Aaron sighed. "I knew you'd win..."
D'Anthony nodded as he approached. "Jason Grace wins this match." Then both boys helped him to stand, and walk limbing out of the arena and away from the cheering crowd.
Quickly dismantling his outfit, Aaron felt the presence of Alex and Lydia as they approached, both looking excited.
"You did well!" Alex said all but jumping.
Jason nodded. "Not many people can fight as good as I can, you were close and that is after fighting so many others. Your good, It would have been much closer if you were at full form."
"Probably." Aaron laughed. "Not as much as you think, I can't compete with your divine speed or strength. That is really the big hamper here."
"That makes sense, but isn't it true that the more magic you produce the more potent your body becomes? I don't know a lot about magic but I've heard that."
Aaron let out a long sigh. "It can happen, and it has for me on some level, but I am not a battle magic speciality. GreccoRoman magic is more ritualistic then anything else, so we don't get a huge physical boost outside of immortality more often then not. Some boost yes, but not much."
"Huh... anyway, you might want to go to the stands, that way you can watch the rest of the matches."
"Will do, hope you win them all my friend."
Jason winced. "Reyna's fighting, so I might not. She's a beast in battle." And with that, Jason left, leaving Aaron to limp away with Lydia and Alex at his side.
"You were so good, father, if you had not been so exhausted you might have beaten Jason!"
"Maybe, Lydia, but I doubt it. He has a lot of experience and skill and natural strength. He is not to be undervalued."

As he predicted, Jason won the entire set of Games, with only Reyna tying with him. Reyna, as it turned out, was a daughter of Bellona ( A Roman War goddess of extreme importance) and a powerful combatant that had only been in camp for a few months but had risen through the ranks at an insane pace. She was still only a legionare, but she carried a lot of respect from everyone he saw. They spoke of her in near whispers, she was from the First Cohort, having been blessed by her mother with extreme potential in battle even for a child of a War God. She was a beautiful girl, wth black hair and dark skin marking her as something hispanic. Her aura was potent, comparable to Jason's on some level... she reeked of Magic oddly enough, not like she had used it but as if she had been around it.
That had been so distracting, he barely saw her and Jason literally knock each other out. The little he remembered showed Reyna to be fast, strong and very, very skilled even without her weapon, having knocked Jason's sword out of his hands early on. The whole fight turned into wrestling, and she was not to be underestimated there. It was about there that Aaron sensed the magic around her, on her skin, distracting him from noticing much else about the fight.
Determined, Aaron vowed to talk to Reyna at some point about the potent magic on her skin...
"These War Games are over!" D'Anthony called out, making the crowd cheer. "We have many winners today, each going home with a various medal of skill. Aaron, our newcomer defeated eight people, eight without a single ounce of divine blood! He has shown that we were right to welcome him. Jason and Reyna each defeated Fifteen people, and then each other. We cannot forget the valor shown here today, a showcase of extreme talent, skill and dedication. May the Gods bless you all!"
They all cheered, loudly and obnoxiously, though it was clear that many were looking at Aaron with disdain and even some hate and envy. He could see it at the side of his vision, Lydia actually whimpered in some fear at the surge of hate in their eyes. He felt for her, but there was little he could do to stop those looks. He reached down and rubbed her head, easing her whimpering slightly.
'If nothing else, I will be placing up extra barriers around my bed tonight... sigh.' He knew that Lydia would have to be around him double time, to make sure she wasn't hurt in retaliation for the victories he had managed to accrue. He was pretty sure even Juno couldn't help him if he slaughtered the Romans for touching his cute little familar...
No one was looking at hateful as Octavian, who was boiling with utter loathing so strong it radiated from him in actual waves. It was actually kind of scary...
Aaron vowed to do whatever he needed to to protect himself and Lydia.

"The boy suspects little, my Lord." D'Anthony kneeled before the statue of Jupiter, praying to the God for power as he frequently did. "We have welcomed him as warmly as we are able, he will make a fine tool for Rome, or food to empower it."
There was no answer, there so rarely was. However moments later, Octavian stepped out from the shadows of the statue, bruised and battered from fighting Aaron. "I'd rather him become food for Rome. I suspect he is more then just trained as a Greek fighter."
"Perhaps, but Juno herself brought him here and that means we must allow his presence." D'Anthony hated his alliance with Octavian, he should have killed the worm for killing his aunt Beth, but his family line held too much power in Camp Jupiter. It would have been foolhardy, and helped no one. No, it was better to keep an eye on the worm and use him for all he was worth, which wasn't too much really... at least not yet. As he aged and gained skill, the boy's worth would only increase, especially as a full Augur. " Can the boy really read the Sacrifices?"
Octavian cursed, turning away but knowing better then to lie to D'Anthony's empathy. "Yes, better then I can at present. His magic is greater then I would have thought possible for a mortal."
"That is true... I can sense the pasion of his power, he is comparable to Jason of all people in terms of sheer mysticism." Standing, D'Anthony moved over to Octavian and offered him a small tube, filled with healing salve. " This should ease your injuries. He did quite a bit to you and in such little time. He is quite skilled in combat, it is clear he is very well trained. Wherever he was, he had great teachers."
"I cannot foresee the past, no augur really can without the Gods to aid us. We could ask the Sorcerers here, Trivia and Hecate's children, what they think? Their powers should be enough to see into his past."
D'Anthony shook his head. "Mother contacted me, told me specifically to avoid that. The gods are masking his past for a reason. She favors him, though she admitted that she is not allowed to show it. She won't say why, past some great series of deeds and his effect on my siblings, siblings that are not here."
Octavian cursed again. "Damn it... we must do something, he has established power with the Lares already, and I foresee that other gods have taken a look at him. Not sure who but I saw in my reading that they are looking at him."
" This is the place of the gods, someone who has no blood connection to them should and will never gain the power the clearly boy seeks. " D'Anthony turned on heel. "There is no way Lord Jupiter or Mars would allow anything of the sort, there is a reason the most successful and powerful Emperors and Consuls and Praetors have been children or legacies of the gods. That is merely the way it is meant to be."
The powerful Praetor just took in Octavian blood thirsty look, knowing the boy would be the death of him one day and so many others... but until then, he would serve him and the gods to the best of his ability and right then it meant countering the rise of a powerful mortal witch.

Aaron's wards did not go off even once, with Lydia snugly fit on his chest. For once he slept great and woke comfortably, waiting to do whatever it is he was bound to do that day. Restructoring his wards to preserve his stuff, he stored his old sheild, hoodie and sword as well as his bag of now useless potions, lotions and whatnot that had been washed away by the Tiber's vile magic. It was quite frustrating, but probably for the best... that way there was no chance of the Romans getting a hold of Greek magic beyond using him.
As he stood from his bed, stretching, he admired himself in the nearest mirror. He had changed so much, not just his white and grey streaked hair making him look a little like Cruella De Ville. His fat had long since faded, leaving him strong and muscular, his body that of a warrior despite his desires to be a healer and witch first and foremost. His biceps alone were bigger then most heads, he looked like he could rip apart a person by sheer muscle. He enjoyed the way he looked, even if he resembled his vile deceased father. It was a nice reminder of where he came from.
"Bathroom!" Lydia barked out, making him sigh and quickly dress in jeans and a purple Camp Jupiter shirt. He led her outside, with Jason following behind shortly.
"Hey, you can't just have her poop anywhere, we have places for that."
"I have a spell to make her poops sink into the earth, first thing I learned when I got her." He chuckled at Jason's shocked expression. " I hate the idea of picking up her turds, call me lazy if you must. Now, what do we do today?"
After his brain rebooted, Jason blinked. "Um... well, there are chores but your new so I have no assignments for you... I guess you could talk to the sorcerers here to compare notes, get some practice."
"I wonder if they can help me with shapeshifting. I haven't done it in a place where I wasn't welcomed like the Wolf House." Smiling, he closed his eyes and allowed his magic to take over. Slowly but with more speed then his first attempt, he turned into a pigeon. Excited, he chirped and hopped around before taking flight. He heard Lydia beneath him barking as he took to the skies. He only made a small trip before returning to his true form in mid air, landing by Lydia's pile. Wordlessly, he waved his hands over the pile, and it dissolved magically into the ground. "I got so good with that, I don't even need words... cool right? Now, about those other sorcerers? I have so much to learn, I cannot wait. I am here for a purpose, one they could help me with... oh, and did you talk to Thalia?"
Jason smiled, nodding sadly but with a spark of joy that offset it. "She was... everything I needed. I remembered so much when she spoke... I will miss her. Thank you for... well everything."
"Anything, my friend..."
"AARON!" They both cringed as Alex screamed for them, sprinting his little body towards them at blinding speeds. "Hi! Miss me!"
Aaron embraced the little ghost. "Of course, every minute of every day. Are you going to be my shadow today? I need to learn with the Witches here, can you take me to learn?"
Alex nodded excitedly. "Yeah! Can I learn too, I mean being dead and all?"
" Not sure, but we can sure try."
"Yeah! Hi Jason, how are you today?"
Jason had to reset his brain before he responded, making Aaron chuckle a little before they moved back to the barracks. eager and happy to begin their day.
