Chapter 5

Fuyuki singularity arc

Earth (Fate Grand Order Alt Timeline)

Fuyuki City (Singularity F)

2004CE

The world I regained consciousness to was on fire. And it definitely wasn't the corner I, Mash and Fou huddled ourselves in control room to protect us from the falling debris and raging flames. It was a night metropolis and an abandoned one if I might add. As I slowly stood up dusting my pants to be free of dust, I continued to make further observations. The roads and buildings were destroyed like it was from some kind of attack. looking at where I stood, it seemed to be in the middle of the road, as I could see damaged vehicles up ahead.

"Where the hell am I?" I quietly mutter in confusion "what is this place" as my nose twitched at the air covered with dust, smoke, sooth… and the metallic scent of blood. My inner ramblings were brought to a halt as a result of the tapping on my pants "phew-phew" ah yes, the little rascal. Looking towards the squirrel like beast, I apologised "yeah sorry I had forgotten about you just like that"

"Phew-phew" the animal toned, like it was a sign it had forgiven me. As I picked him up and placed him on my shoulder, I then addressed the other problem that had been bothering me. My physical change.

I mean that should have been the first thing on my mind but the abrupt change in location led me to have forgotten about it. Looking down I picked up my fallen uniform shirt and tied it around my waist secured Fou on my shoulders and went down the road towards one of the abandoned cars to check how I looked, and boy was I surprised.

Looking through the side view of the car the figure that stared back at me was a man who clearly did not look my age. I was over six feet tall and possessed a muscular frame that seem to fill out my singlet and black slacks, my face looked quite handsome but possessed a rugged edge form if I had anything to say about it and my hair filled out quite nicely as it draped pass my shoulders. All in all I looked like what women called 'A Tall Muscular Hunk'.

"Well, well would you look at that" I flexed a bit "check out these muscles" I smiled as I posed showing of my new figure. But if there anything more obvious about any of this was the power that I could feel coursing through me, because I clearly remembered the feat I performed when I threw that rubble that fell on Mash back at the control room. Looking at the car, I took a deep breath and reached under raising it up. The car groaned as it left its place on the ground taking its new position above me "w-w-wow… I mean wow" I could only look at in disbelief at the inhuman strength I had just exhibited "maybe it's one of those magic thingies that Mash told me about. Cause this is so cool" I said my eyes shining.

My feelings of fascinations were caught off when Fou tapped my face harder than normal with an annoyed look on his face. Giving a sheepish smile back I threw the car down. Although it seems like I couldn't control my strength as I sent it farther than normal sending it careening into an opposing building.

BOOM!!.

It made a loud noise I was sure that sent its sound farther into the city "oops" I winced as the white animal gave me an unimpressed look "sorry…" it kept on looking as I felt quite awkward, so I gave a distracting cough to change the subject "well sorry about that but let's go and search for Mash. After all I'm quite worried about where she is right now" I said solemnly. The animal looked at me some more as it then calmed down and… sighed? It then gave an agreeing "phew" as we began to set out looking for her.

It didn't pass over fifty seconds until the sound of a cry in panic "kya!!!!!!" rang across the destroyed urban city, it was definitely female. Utterly worried that it was Mash voice I hear I hurriedly said to the animal "let's go and see what that was about" I shifted the animal "hold on tight Fou. Cause the ride's about to get bumpy" the animal tuck in tighter as I shot forward at superhuman speeds leaving behind clouds of dust.

On top of a large radio tower overlooking the burning city, a red-cladded figure sighed as he released the hand that was pulling back the bow in preparation for a shot. He was a summoned Spirit or rather a Heroic Spirit given the class of an Archer and sent to fight a rather pointless war amongst his fellow Heroic Spirits… or at least that's how it was supposed to go, until a deviation occurred. 'The fifth Holy Grail war' that was a war he knew rather too intimately as he was stuck in a rather timeless loop watching his past self over and over again getting embroiled in what it means to be a hero only to end up a shadow of what he wanted to truly become.

"Being a Hero is good and fine but remember this Emiya Shirou" the Heroic Spirit known as 'Emiya' told his stubborn younger self "to be a hero is to be a judge… an executioner. It is irrational and the height of hypocrisy to declare that you can save everyone because to do so you must sacrifice others. Emiya Shirou… that goal, that dream you're holding just cast it off. Before it is too late… before you end up like me"

But like always, it was a futile attempt, because like a bad video player. He would see him holding that fire in his eyes. The fire he also had once held to. Lost in his timeless journey as the bogey man for Alaya and declare proudly.

"No matter what I will achieve my dream" he looked at me in the eyes "i will be a Hero Of Justice"

The Archer unconsciously gritted his teeth. Again and again he had used many of those loops to try and dissuade Emiya Shirou from ever becoming what he was. In some of those loop, he knelt and begged, he cried and pleaded, he threatened to kill him… he tried to kill him. But it seems like annoyingly enough, it was at that time fate had decided to take his naive side. His luck towards his tragic ending is just EX. It would either be he wouldn't listen or in some way or the other something must always happen to preventing him from achieving his goal 'to prevent Emiya Shirou from ever becoming 'a hero of justice' because that was all a lie. A fake dream inherited from a broken man.

Ultimately he was a lonely man, a machine cursed for eternity to kill for the greater good of mankind. A faker who never held anything genuine and the King of Wrought Iron. A Counter Guardian and an Anti-heroic Spirit.

This war was to be like the others until everything went to hell. It was obvious something was wrong in this timeline. While he was summoned as Archer the ones that filled the rows of the other class were different from the ones he knew. The one who was supposed to be the Rider was now the Lancer and the one who was originally supposed to be the Lancer was now the Caster, all the other classes was filled with different spirits except Saber and Berserker.

And most shockingly the one to first fall was Saber. How she fell he didn't know but it changed everything he knew about the war. She came back corrupted and subsequently defeated the rest of them and the next thing he knew he became this corrupted being guarding a city enveloped in flames.

Shirou is gone, Rin is gone, Sakura is gone so is Issei, Taiga and the most of the other humans. Stranglers were killed either by himself or the other blackened servants in theirs parts of the city. As for Saber, she had not left the Grail side ever since, at the heart of Fuyuki Mountains. Just standing there quietly guarding. Waiting. And so time passed quietly.

So when he saw a human or what looked like a human but possessed the presence of a servant he knew rather all too well He was rather shocked. he crouched pulling back his bow in preparation for the kill, but just then something made him not to release it. As he watched the human actions, maybe it was the Shirou in him, but he decided not to pull the trigger… for now. At least as he had already sensed the cry of another human, so had the boy so he would watch a little longer, when the two of them gather together, then… well he will care of two birds with one stone.

And so he quietly waited and watched.

"Hmpf, so the bastard's decided not to go for the kill this time" a hooded figure snorted "not like he's the only one who is interested in this particular affair" after all for a human to have the present of one Heroic Spirit he knew rather all too well. He gave a light laugh as he rubbed his chin "well this just became all too interesting, I won't act now, maybe wait and watch a little longer… at least until he decides to let loose his arrows".

And so he slinked and disappeared back to the shadows.

--TMMGO--

The lithe figure hefted her large shield as she ran in through the burning city, through the pull towards her master. She was rather lucky that the heroic spirit originally meant for her contract came to her at the last minute, but it seems like the spiritron dive separated them to different parts of the urban.

"Billy-kun" she quietly muttered. If there was one thing she was happy concerning all of this, it was the fact that he was her master rather than some other mage, as she was quite certain that any other would have treated her as a tool rather than a person. Moreover the mana she's receiving from her new master was more than enough, It might have been even too much as she felt she could perform a mana boost more than enough times and never run out.

'Although' she pursed her lips lightly and looked at hi… no her shield. She might not be able to perform at full capacity as a result of a few complications. But that doesn't matter, at least not yet. She first needs to regroup with master before he meets foreign hostilities and then… no, no, no she shook her head. She just needs to hurry up quickly and meet him first.

"Billy-kun, just hold on, am coming" she prayfully muttered as she shot forward to him.

A silver hair girl gasped as she tiredly ran away from what could mean her death. The clattering of bones seems to dissuade her from looking back as she was afraid of how close they were in reaching her "why me" she thought as she tiredly cried "why does things like this, always happen to only me. Just Why? Why? Why?"

The life of Olga Marie Animusphere was one that was not of her own. Born as the only heir to Lord Marisbury Animusphere she was saddled with expectations right from birth. By the time she was at the age of four, her magic circuits were examined and deemed excellent, ready to be brought to the Moonlight World to begin her teachings in the Ways of a Mage.

She never had the chance to experience the warmth of a loving family, as her father wasn't there for her, leaving her in the care of their house nanny.

She could never have friends as the ones she saw were cold-hearted and mostly saw their fellow humans as nothing but 'Resources'

She could never have her own dream as she was entrusted responsibilities right from birth and was said by all to be the next Lord of the Department of Astronomy at the Clock Tower.

Expectation… expectations… expectations. She was cursed never to be her own person, always under the scrutinizing gaze of others. People who wanted to devour and destroy the name and house of the Animuspheres.

So she casted it all away. All her emotions and fruitless desire and donned the mask of 'Olga Marie Animusphere' a cold calculating Lord of the Clock Tower and one without any friends... well with some few exceptions. But that was never enough. No matter how hard she studied and practised, those eyes would always watch her every steps. All her achievements dismissed and her errors exonerated for all to see. It was just like that during her latest scandal, about the fact that even though she was an excellent mage; she had zero potential in becoming a master.

So that was why when the Chaldea's detected an spacial anomaly she saw it as another chance to redeem herself. "Failure is not an option" she said to herself "no matter what you cannot be allowed to fail. Remember Olga Marie Animusphere. Everyone is watching, they all have various expectations on you... you are not allowed to fail. Not again"

...

And when she found herself suddenly at ruined city. She knew that like always… she had failed yet again.

...

As the magic creatures chased her, she kept on running until she stopped. Whether it was out of desperation or tiredness she didn't know, but she turned towards the approaching small horde and desperately fired her Gandr.

"What the hell" she tearfully said as some of her shots disparate some of those monsters, but didn't seem to deter them "why do these kind of thing always happen to me?" she kept on shooting at the crowd until she felt a presence above her. 'There was another one there!' she thought in panic, as she quickly shifted her hands and shot a gandr but unfortunately this one dodged, as she felt its weapon quickly approaching her time slowed down, as her life flashed before her eyes. A buried memory was resurfaced.

A five year Olga Marie excitedly ran through the hallway towards the kitchen to meet her nanny.

"Mama Frigga" she happily called to her "here see my drawing" she said as she presented a crayon drawing to a maid dressed old lady.

"Hmmm? Come let me see…" the woman said as she took the paper and examined it "…. This is a beautiful piece of drawing Miss Marie" she rustled the blushing girl's hair "so you drew a picture of yourself and a knight prince".

"Un" she nodded "you know what Mama Frigga? When I grow up, am going to marry a beautiful prince like the one you used to tell me during my bedtime stories" she said.

"Now, now don't rush my Belle E'toile" she chided "after all do you remember the qualities of all those princes I told you in those stories".

The little girl quickly nodded "they always get to rescue the princess" she said.

The nanny heartily laughed and answered "yes they do rescue the princess. But that wasn't all the quality they possess. After all for a good happily ever after the prince and his princess must have the right qualities and a cohesive chemistry before the romance could even hit off"

"And what is that?" she asked.

The old woman nodded as she started "he must understand you for who you are and not what others make of you. He must always stand by your side in good and in bad no matter what. He must be understanding and to advice you whenever you deviate from the right path…. And most of all everything I mentioned, it will all be moot if he doesn't make you happy"

"And then he would always rescue me like those princess" she chirped in.

"Ha-ha-ha, yes my little one, he would of course always rescue you like a prince recuses his princess" she answered.

Time slowly resumed the weapon slowly approached; she fearfully closed her eyes and resignedly muttered "Leff, save me"

But it wasn't to pass as she heard the sign of the weapon hitting a resistance she slowly opened her eyes to an astonishing sight.

A huge man stood defensively showing her his back as he blocked the creature weapon with his bare hands.

"M-my prince" she muttered in daze.

"Are you calling me your prince" the man laughed as he pulled the creature's weapon using it as leverage and slammed it so hard on the ground it vanished into golden motes of light "am sorry princess, but last time I remember, I am certainly not your prince" he turned and helped her up "more importantly are you alright?" he asked.

Olga Marie fought down a blush as she accepted the hand to stand up she replied "am fine thank you. But wh-..." before she could ask his name the man cut in as he quickly replied.

"Let's do our proper self-introduction at a more…safer location" he pointed to the approaching hostile crowd "because we've got company"

Before she could reply he took a runner position in preparation to rush to the horde "before I forget lady" he called out "you did a good job hanging in there, so cheer up and dry those tears" and vanished stirring up winds dashing towards the approaching horde.

Olga Marie face heated up red as she hurriedly cleaned up her eyes "what the hell was that?" she flushly said under her breath, as she looked at the havoc being brought to the creatures 'and who the hell is that guy?' she wondered.

As I and Fou reached from where the sound had came form, I came across a strange sight. A young lady in an English dress was chased by what looked like… magical skeletons with weapons. She turned back and raised one of her hand in a shooting manner and began shooting magical balls desperately. I was about to join in the effort when I spotted a sword wielding skeleton on top of a lamp-post near the girl about to take a jump and attack it seemed like she had sensed its presence but it was already too late as it had taken off and dodged her initial shot and was about to strike.

I rapidly accelerated forward positioning myself between the two of them just in time 'and now what' I thought as I looked at the skeleton. I sighed in resign 'let's just hope that super durability comes in the package' as I posed my arm and blocked.

Even with the force of inertia of the swing and what have you. The only thing I could feel was the pressing of flesh as the sword didn't even pass my upper skin 'now that's just too cool' I thought in excitement just to hear the lady address to me as 'her prince'

I laughed calming her down and reminding her that at least we are all still in the red zone. One funny thing to note is that despite all the movement and the shaking, Fou hadn't fell off ever since 'speaking of Fou I better round this quickly and get back in finding Mash. I just hope she's ok' although I had a strange feeling that was telling me that even now, that she was actually okay and freaky enough it's like I could feel her heading this way 'maybe that's why am not so paranoid' I wondered.

Returning my attention back to the skeletons I contemplated how to deal with them 'I can attack more carelessly seeing that the skeleton sword still couldn't pierce my skin. But I should still be more careful' I decided to leave everything to instinct as I smashed into the centre of the small horde. Turing all the attention meant to attack the lady to me.

"Well howdy my skeleton friends, am in need of a punching bag and something tells me here that you're all dead guys..." I said with a smile tinted with madness "and so that just means that I don't have to be afraid of going all out to break you all!" I screamed as I took the nearest bony appendage as a bludgeon. I swerved through most of the attack but even the ones that hit me were so inconsequential it didn't matter; I couldn't even feel them 'although I should watch out more if for anything else my poor clothes' I said to myself.

Using the skeleton I held, I then smashed the nearest two close to me. but it seems like I also over did it as even the one I held also disappeared with the other, a spear wielding skeleton poised behind me with a lunging strike to attack the back of my head. But It was all for naught, as I unconsciously tilted my head and dodged it. I pulled the offending spear and gave it's wielder an elbow for it troubles. I then noticed four skeleton archers farther at back the group, releasing their arrows but still with the same instinct that made me dodge the spear I instantly caught the arrows in mid-air and used threw them to the two nearest skeletons close to me spearing through their skulls.

'I say this once again. Am glad~ they're are not alive, with all the flesh and blood. Cause that was definitely not something I would want to see' I thought in disgust.

I decided to go more handy approach for the other skeleton as I popped one of the swords wielding type head with a haymaker I unconsciously took a stance planting both my feet firm on the ground lifting both my hands in adjacent positions the front one as a palm and the back one balled into a fist. I felt my demeanour slowly began to change.

It seems like the skeletons didn't or couldn't notice it as a sign of their un-death or maybe their stupidity, but they still charged at me in droves. 'Just twelve more' I counted in disappointment 'well the numbers will give me enough time to find out if this body came with fighting techniques'

"In-incredible" she thought in awe "is he actually servant?" Olga Marie couldn't help but question herself. She wouldn't had been this confused if she hadn't spotted the logo of Chaldea on the shirt tied around his waist.

But that the level of combat ability shown by the strange man suggested that of a servant left her even more confused. She calmed down to think 'seeing that he's here means that he's a Master Potential. But why haven't I heard of him? Maybe he was not one from the main mage families; maybe he was just a spell caster. But even then a performance like this should had made him talks among the inner circles… ah mou! I can't even think straight" She was cut of out her train of thought as she felt the atmosphere change. She turned back to look at the man taking martial stance in the midst of those creatures. The very air change around him as the jovial air around him was nowhere to be seen. All she felt was the air getting heavier as he breathed.

As the nearest skeleton sword type attacked the man, he deflected it with his front palm and responded with a punch to the ribs that exploded the skeleton transmuting it into a cloud of gold dust. The other two skeletons came at him from both sides with two of the skeleton archers shooting at him from their position in the back. But he then bent down dodging both arrows and using his new position to swipe his legs in a full circular motion falling the two of the skeletons to fall, quickly standing up he moved towards them and caved in both their faces smashing his legs through them into the road asphalt.

He moved forward like water, flowing through the enemies attack and smashing those around him through the use of kicks, palms and punches, each of his blows were like thunder as he became a blur leaving only shockwaves were there was last a skeleton, he demolished the group until the only ones that remained were the two archers. Seeing that the two archers quickly moved in to strike, but it was too late as the man stuck first. He moved towards one skeleton and held its head, throwing the skeleton high up over a height of four stories tall, grabbing the other one he then used as a… baseball bat? Holding the skeleton tight he took a pose and struck the falling skeleton so hard they both became sparkles.

"Wow" she thought in shock and awe, after all the whole process of the fight didn't even last two minutes. She was about to call to him when his face became deadly serious as he rushed over to her wrapping her up in a curling protective position.

"W-w-what! What the hell are you do-…!" before she could even continue, the sky was lighten up in a crimson hue.

…….

'Phew and that's that' I thought as I looked at the shimmering golden lights 'well at least now I know that this body can also fight. But still what the hell was that' In the middle of the time when he fought, he felt his self his sense of self being taken from him, as he saw the vision of a giant man with an axe sword wadding through armies of monsters. It was so enrapturing that he couldn't help but follow his movement 'yep definitely freaky' he concluded and sighed 'well I'll deal with it later after I meet up with Mash'

As I turned my attention to the silver haired lady my senses began to blar in alarm. Something was heading towards us and what was coming will definitely kill us both. Looking up at the night sky I saw it littered with trailing red comets I was definitely sure were coming our way, so I rushed forward and covered the girl with my body shutting my eyes in preparation for the pain.

THUM! THUM!

The sound of metal hitting resistance and stirring up winds mixed with dust made me open my eyes to an astonishing sight.

A familiar lithe figure in armour stood protectively over me against the crimson rain attack "master are you all right" the figure asked.

The only word that I could register, coming out of my mouth was "Mash!"

And there I've decided to stop at this point as anymore would just be rushing Fuyuki's arc.

So in any case this is my divergence from the canon Fuyuki's arc. When I decided to write Billy's character In this scene I wanted him to be seen as a man child, ah mean look at all his profile at some particular case he can behave like either an adult or a child.

Now as for those concerned with Billy's age. That problem would be treated after this very arc. But minor spoilers remember Billy Batson isn't normal any more.

Till next time.
