So this is me when I'm bored. I've been thinking of this for a long time, so now I'm off to correct the stupidity of, well people.
Sleeping Beauty
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there was a King and a Queen. They wanted a child very much, but were unable to have one. Over many years, the king and queen grew depressed, for the very much wished for a child.
After some years, the Queen did bear a child, and on the day of her birth, there was great celebrating throughout all the land. A week later, a banquet was to be held, to celebrate the birth of the baby princess; everyone was invited.
Now in that land there were thirteen fairies, and it was customary to invite these fairies to bless newly born children. The fairies, seeing themselves as important people (and rightly they were), refused to eat off of any thing but finely crafted golden plates.
As the King and Queen prepared for the banquet celebrating their daughter, they came across something devastating, they only had TWELVE plates. Lacking the time to commission another plate, the monarchs made a chancy decision, they decided not to invite one of the fairies! (now the queen's maid had asked about borrowing a golden plate from one of their neighbors, but the Queen had said it wouldn't match)
When the day of the banquet came about, everything went off without a hitch, until it came time for the blessings. Just before the twelfth and last fairy got up to bless the child, the thirteenth fairy (the one not invited), burst in and demanded to know why she had been over looked! As a punishment to the King and queen, she put a curse on their precious baby girl, telling all that she would prick her finger on a spindle, the day she turned 15-years-old. After that pleasant outburst, the thirteenth fairy disappeared with a loud bang, and a bit of shoddy pyrotechnics.
The party ended after this, the festivities of before seemed to drop off into a pit of despair. Then Twelfth fairy, quick to realize that she could save the day with her blessing, eased the blow somewhat, by amending that the girl would not die, but fall into a deep sleep, for one hundred years. (Not that that was much better)
Over the next fourteen years the King and Queen fretted about what to do. Revelation came around their daughter's fourteenth birthday. The King sent out a proclamation that said all spinning for the next two years should be finished before the year was up and then, on the princesses' half birthday, all the spindles were to be burnt. As the king set about doing this, the Queen went and told their daughter about the curse. Little Briar Rose (for that was the princess's name) was very understanding and promised not to go near anything that looked like a spindle until well past her sixteenth birthday. The impending threat of a hundred year sleep (Think of the bed hair! And the morning breath!) prevented the princess from coming anywhere near a spindle, and the girl was saved from the fairy's spell.
THE END
Sorry if the writing was off or anything, It's my first fanfiction (pittiful as it is) and so yeah. I find it impossible to write in the same style for an entire story, even if it is a page long, so please forgive the increasing insanity of it all. Anyway, I was bored, may add more, no idea when.
