Check out Naomi's Gift, Melione's Curse by MikaRauch on Wattpad to see an awesome Original Story I am writing. Here is the Synopsis.
Cursed with mortality among a sea of demigods and legacies, Naomi struggles the shine. Desperate to matter, to gain a fraction of the power and influence of her peers, Naomi applies herself to become a heroine unlike any other. One powered by ingenuity and strength of character instead of divinity and nepotism. She seeks the only form of immortality available to mere mortals like her, that which came from being remembered forever in the stories of men. Nothing will get in her way,... except maybe her Nephilim brother and those that see that her place was as a breeder for the gods.
Melione on the other hand sought only one thing... freedom. Freedom from the burden of her bloodline and the curse they bore. As the last legacies of Harmonia, they carried the curse of her wedding night and the gifts given to the one-time goddess. It was Melione's turn to bear the curse, as her aunt had before her. Desperate to be free, she will do anything to break the curse on her family and finally end the cycle of misery so engrained into her bloodline. It doesn't matter the cost, she was willing to lay it and fight against the child gods who cursed her bloodline so many eons ago.
After about a week, Jason and Reyna returned from the quest with their treasure trove of Imperial Gold. It wasn't a massive amount but it was enough to forge new weapons for a handful of officers. The problem was, it wasn't enough for the coming war. Aaron realized this pretty quickly as they brought their supplies into the Camp Proper. The divine metal rang with a particular aura of power that made them hard to ignore. However, they also got Aaron thinking and when he got to thinking he had to do something... mostly he thought about how few weapons the Romans really had. Apparently, they lost a boatload of weapons when a guy named Michael Varus failed a quest in Alaska, the only place the gods' powers had no effect. A terrible problem for the ever-growing Roman Camp.
This is why he decided to teach the Romans how to make enchanted metals like his old sword! It wasn't hard, he had memorized the spells to create such things long before even if he never had cast them. He just needed to make the spell Romanized, which was a task in and of itself. The actually using of which to make enchanted metals he would push off onto another person as he had far too much on his plate as it was. Excuse him but he was so busy with his own quest, mainly finding or creating the spells needed to change the nature of emotional energy and splinter off the good part of Kronos to save him from the bad...
Really it was exhausting work, he was allowed to be busy damn it!
He spent about two weeks jotting down the spells needed to cast the spells needed to forge enchanted mortal metals, spending an hour or two a day to transform them into Romanized versions of themselves. That was a lot easier than he anticipated but eventually, he managed it, crafting pretty decent spells that would, with the right people casting it, create powerful enchanted mortal weaponry. D'Anthony, whom he realized hated him for some reason, actually stuttered in shock and accepted his spellwork pretty easily as did the rest of the senate and they immediately commanded that the spells be cast on as much mortal metals as possible. Alex, his little buddy, was uber excited and memorized the spells for posterity
Three months passed from that point. blurring by at rocket speeds and Aaron became stronger than ever in that intervening time. Between training with his Dogs, Training with his magic in either emotional magics or elemental control or Mist Travel, training with Jason in Swordplay or Archery, participating as either a healer or warrior in the War Games... well it all added up and molded Aaron into a serious fighting force ready for almost everything. Jason admitted to being able to feel his aura like a reserve heater, that he made everything colder and sharper with the cool radiance of his magic. Alex said his aura was a raging grey storm of power that literally was starting to pull Ghosts to him.
Overall it was a lovely feeling for the boy.
So, Naturally, things went sour when Monsters started to randomly appear near Camp Jupiter, causing all of the members of the Senate to be called to a meeting, including the Priest and Augur in training Aaron.

"... And we have no idea why they are contracting so close to Camp and New Rome. They are gathering in bulk and without being detected by our magics or sentries until it is far too late to do anything about." D'Anthony, who led a strike against the monsters, was wheezing just ever so slightly, his torso bandaged and his face bruised from battle. "There are too many to destroy all at once, it is an unfortunate truth. Everything from Venti to Cyclopes and other horrible monsters. Too many to count and they are all near the base."
Aaron frowned, listening carefully to what they had all been told. Things were clicking in his brain and not in a good way. "Could it be the Maze?" Everyone froze, turning to him. "I mean it would explain why they are coming so close to Camp without being discovered. As I have had it explained to me, the Labrinyth is an ever-growing living creation of magic that lives beneath the skin of the Earth and time passes strangely through it. It would allow masses of Monsters to approach us without detection and put them in a position to be threats. If this is true, we should consider ourselves lucky they have no direct path into the Camp or New Rome directly."
The Senate burst into a bevy of minor conversations and whispered terror. It took nearly five minutes for D'Anthony to silence everyone, and even then It was Octavian who spoke up in his place."You seem to know a lot about this, dear Aaron." His accusatory tone was strong, enough to make people look at Aaron with some shock and concern. He didn't care too much, Octavian was not enough of a threat to be an issue yet.
"Only what I read, to be honest. I lack the power and skills with Earth magic to draw upon the Maze, it takes a mix of Mist control and Earth magic to draw it to the surface or create a new entrance and it takes Demigod blood to open a path so really I have no means to do much with the Maze. I only have the first part. There are many records on this in the library, it is a miracle of magic so naturally it has been recorded. What I can tell you is that if this is the Maze then we need to cast a spell to repel the beasts or at least keep sentries around it so we can deal with the Monsters as they come one by one."
Jason stood. "We can do that, standing guard around the Maze entrance if it is indeed there."
A random person, who Aaron had no idea of, called out. "Why not destroy that entrance?" This received a lot of positive comments.
Aaron just sighed. "This is living magic, it would just adjust the placement of the doorway by a few feet and be totally fine. It is a defiant piece of magic. The best we can do is monitor it. Dedalus and Pasiphae created something incredible and even with all of our resources we cannot entirely defy it's might." His tone final, Aaron's words were not met with the best looks. However, Jason stood for him, as did Alex. Everyone else seemed too afraid or ignorant to agree to his rather simple explanation. "I cannot do much to help here, my powers are vast enough to create a warning system of sorts, but not much else. I can fight the monsters if we pursue a violence-based plan but that is all. I am not all powerful, I never have claimed to be."
A light of victory blossomed in Octavian's mind, but before he could say a word Alex spoke up. "We Lares are unharmed by monsters, we could watch over the entrance if the Maze is indeed present. That would be a major help I am sure."
"It would be." D'Anthony said. "Very well, we will look for this entrance and we will pursue a plan to monitor this situation and then reconvene once we find this entrance and make a plan based on what we discover. Dismissed."
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was oddly fun to write.
