Persona 5 Strikers – From Light and Dark

By Tayla Drago

Episode #41 - Driving, Hot Springs, and a Hideout too

So many things had happened in Okinawa...Lots to explain -

*Shuzo Ubukata Shadow was a ghost to have a Jail in no control of him as a Monarch or his Warden Trauma Cell to lose control 'to also be close to Akechi's mother from back then'

*Still had some mind control villagers to defend the island and old to new lab place from a god with the same old Shadow slaves, energies being taken away, Gegasites, and so on

*Hans, Ellen, Kaguya, and Picaro seem to be remembering their past selves from five years ago little at a time but not fully yet

*Akechi knows of the case to keep informed to even have Zen know something very big on his end to talk about to each other in a bit 'he was hiding something from the others'

*Keiko got hurt to recover from her arm with Loki's help to find some clues on his end so far

*Raiho stays close with the twin sisters who might be Aika Iwamura 'Picaro' and Hitomi Kanakubo 'Kaguya' when they were once human and alive to find their answers as well

*Ellen and Hans of the Guyver twins aren't bad guys to begin with to both be betrayed by Hooded Man who also might be Shuzo's old lab partner – Dr. Kano Guru aka the Hooded Man and his Mistress 'she might be the mean twin sister of the other girl of Akechi's mother once knew'

*Sophia thought she learned about herself but with no luck yet other than to learn more on human emotions

*going to the old lab for Futaba found a list of people's names for Zen to look on next and will get back to them

*Zen goes back to Kyoto for the Phantom Thieves 'Keiko Akechi, Morgana, Sophia, Ryuji, Ann, Yusuke, Makoto, Futaba, and Haru' to meet up with him next

And that's what has been going on lately. As Keiko and Morgana got ready to go 'same with Akechi and Sophia', how were the others doing packing up?

Morgana: Hey, it's Yusuke.

Keiko: Yusuke. What are you doing?

Yusuke: Ah, Ms. Keiko. You've come. The azure sky, the crystalline ocean, the caressing wind...Simply standing still in those post alone provides an endless flow of artistic inspiration. However, no matter how much I allow my passion to guide my hand, I feel as if something is missing from my sketches.

Keiko: I see...

Yusuke: For my final attempt here, I wish for your input. Out of all the rare forms of beauty found on this island...Is there any subject worthy of capturing for future contemplation?

What would be good for Yusuke's taste in art?

Keiko: How about a Shiisaa? A statue of it is better than a utaki ghost we all encounter with.

The dog type of lions 'who are also Shadows and Personas', this was some for Keiko to buy and give some to her friends. Like one of them with Yusuke to be good for him to keep.

Morgana: You mean this thing?

Yusuke: That's right! The Shiisaa is most integral to Okinawa! This is perfect to sketch this statue here and more back at the village! Yes. Thank you again, Ms. Keiko, you're truly a life savior.

This should have him go on in his line work.

Keiko: Anything is better than wasting your money on some things. (Things you like is fine, but get some water and food at least.)

He seems to be all set. Having his fast art painting skills on Yusuke's end did wonders for him in seconds 'with another spare to place in the RV, so what's up next? Good thing everyone were all back to normal to live fine on the island now.

Sophia: [No humans were hurt at all to be back the way they were without being completely different. Missions accomplished.]

Now to see what Makoto was up to next.

Makoto: Zenkichi-San said he was headin back to his HQ in Kyoto...Tailing us in Tokyo, all the way to Hokkaido, then taking us on a ferry to Okinawa, just to go all the way to Kyoto at the drop of a hat?

Keiko: This is going to be a long ride out of here.

Makoto: I agree, Keiko-Chan. And how is your arm?

Seems to be moving around just fine.

Keiko: I'm good, thank you for asking.

Makoto: Good. And yet, there doesn't seem to be a moment's rest for a Public Security inspector.

It must be hard on Zen then. Next up were Ann and Ryuji to talk to.

Ann: *sigh* Wish we had even one more day here...

Morgana: Same here. But we're lucky to save everyone from another Jail, right?

True, so it was best to make the most of the day from late in the afternoon happen yesterday right?

Ryuji: Still, Ann, be happy we're not dead. This trip has been ridiculous...I swear I lost at least a few years of my life just from this island!

Keiko: From the ghost of a shadow did scare us to be something both scary and new.

Ann: *sigh* We came all the way to Okinawa and did next to nothing besides getting hunted down both in AND outside a Jail. I get it, Ryuji, I really do. I just wanted to kick back at a nice seaside spa, treat myself to some of the local eats...

Ryuji: Heheh, I had a feeling you'd say that-sooo, I bouuuught...this! For you, babe!

A little gift for his girlfriend and others too of some food?

Morgana: What's that? "Pork/egg onigiri"?

Keiko: What is this stuff?

Time for some explaining researching time for the AI herself.

Sophia: [It's a type of rice ball, made of sliced luncheon meat and egg sandwiched between rice and seaweed. It's considered Okinawan soul food. Many have said, 'If you haven't eaten one of those yet, you haven't been to Okinawa!"]

Ann: Wow, it's that big a deal?!

Ryuji: Yeah, it's their thing here. I got enough for everyone.

It was bad to eat or the smell and looks too.

Morgana: Aw, thanks, Ryuji! You're a real pal!

Ryuji: Oh sh-! I, uh...forgot to get you one.

Morgana: YOU WHAT!?

I think Keiko shares some with Morgana because of Ryuji forgotten one for Morgana there. Poor guy. With Futaba finish shopping around on her end.

Futaba: Farewell, Okinawa! Our time together may have been short, but it was sweet.

Keiko: It sure was, Futaba.

Futaba: Awwww, I just realized I didn't get to try goya chanpuru. It's, like, the staple dish of Okinawa! Know what? You should make some for us, Big Sis! I bet you'd be great at it! Here, I even found a recipe you can use. C'mon, Chanpuru Champ!

Fare enough to cook something for everyone, and to see how Haru was all set to leave.

Keiko: How are you holding up, Haru?

Haru: I'm just fine, Keiko-Chan. Thank you for asking. I keep wondering who's the real mastermind behind all of this business. Why would anyone want to do this to people? Even from Shuzo-Chan's Shadow to be a sad and suffering ghost? Especially now that we know multiple deaths are involved...

Keiko: Then we just need to get through all of this somehow. Come on, we need to get going now whenever you're ready.

Sophia: [Okay, let's gather everyone.]

Meeting up at the RV with everyone else, Akechi sees Keiko, Morgana, and Sophia were all ready there to wait for the others arrival.

Akechi: I take it we're finally all set to go?

Keiko: Yes, just waiting for the others. They're about then packing up and all. It was fun here before we went to a dead man's Jail. And Zenny will handle things on the rest before leaving on his end? We got a lot to catch up with him when we arrive.

Akechi: I know...Sorry, Keiko...There's a lot on my mind I have to talk to with Master.

Keiko: I sense some confusion and sadness going on, Akechi-Cun. So I get you. Whenever you two are ready to talk about it, then do it. (This is all I can feel out from Zenny while Akechi's left confused.)

From the hugging and holding hands, Akechi and Zen will talk about on what's on each other's minds for good. For him to have friends and Keiko by his side, this detective will be just fine.

Akechi: (I'm glad to have such great friends and Keiko, my Princess in my life.) Right, I can do this. Master and I will do what needs to be done to talk about. Just keep the others out of this one a little, please?

Keiko: Sure, we'll be resting up a bit on the boat right to our next destination.

Akechi: Right, then wish me luck.

As for Ellen and Hans...

Hans: Good, our friends are taking off. And we got a job to do once we're settle in and see how Keiko and the others will be relaxing safe and sound.

Ellen: Very well, and to keep Morgana and Mona safe from harm. Now then, we're getting off of this island.

With them taking them same boat but the different way to get to Kyoto.

Akechi: Oh, you two are leaving the same time as we are.

Keiko: In any case, I hope we'll hang out again when we rest up. We'll be seeing you around.

Ellen: Same here, Keiko. Drive safely.

Hans: We'll be sure to meet again real soon.

And soon, they all take off from their vehicles to the boat and off Okinawa island for good to get everything done and needed. Off they all go.

Ferry departing from Kukojima Main Deck

While the Phantom Thieves chilled in the VR to rest, same with Ellen and Hans to have their powers in tact privately, Zen speaks to his boss Mariko outside of the boat's deck with Akechi listening in while hiding to hear everything to be going on.

Zen: Hello, Commissioner? I've just boarded the ferry back to the mainland. I'll lose signal soon, so this'll have to be brief.

[Mariko: Well done. I've read reports from the local precinct-so there's now a body in play, is there? And what of the research faculty?]

A lot to report back...

Zen: While there, I found a list of individuals who are believed to be victims of changes of heart.

[Mariko: Any why is that? Explain.]

Zen: Of course. Not only was the document-tampering vice-minister on there, but both of the Sapporo Central councilmen, too.

This has Akechi to understand the clues so far.

[Mariko: So their hearts were changed by Madicce...]

Zen: Most likely. At the very least, Madicce is benefiting from whoever has the power to change hearts. If we keep digging into the people from the list and their connections to Madicce, the mystery ought to solve itself. I'll bring everything i have to HQ once I'm ashore. I also plan to send it all to the local precinct back on the island. And thanks to Goro's help once again, we're about to solve this case in no time.

[Mariko: Well done, Hasegawa. You've brought us that much closer to solving this case.]

All this to use the Phantom Thieves? Akechi was shock to know of his own step-father would do such a thing.

Akechi: (No!)

Zen: Thank you, Commissioner. It sure is a good thing we didn't bust the Phantom Thieves and Goro's too. Thanks to their help, we might actually be able to blow this case wide open.

Still, he hears some good parts for Zen to be more open minded with the others to have second thoughts. Then Mariko says this to Zen on the phone.

[Mariko: You seem pleased.]

Zen: Oh, well, it's just that-

Akechi: (Master's starting to believe in us?)

[Mariko: Leave it. From now on, be ready for things to swing into high gear at a moment's notice. And keep you eyes open. At this point, there's no telling between friend and foe.]

Wow, she really wants to get the Phantom Thieves even if they're committing any crimes? Why...?

Zen: I understand. I'll report when I've arrived.

Akechi: (At first we would've...But now he isn't...)

Zen: ….

Akechi: (I have to know the rest right here, right now.)

Hanging up now, Zen wanted to know if he was making the right choice of using the Phantom Thieves or liking them now. I think he's now having second thought, and which is when Akechi comes out of hiding to have a good step-father and step-son type of talk to know what's really going on, it all comes down to the great ace detective prince now.

Zen: Ah! Oh, Goro. What's up?

Akechi: Hello, Master. I hope I didn't interrupt your chat with the Commissioner secretly from me.

Zen: Huh...? Hey! You were listening in to everything?!

Akechi: I've been on to everything since we left Yongen-Jaya.

Zen: Shit...! Ah, I can explain everything.

Akechi: Good, because I want to hear it all if I have to tell the others on your double cross event soon enough.

He's got him there.

Zen: You're right. Fine, but just us. You can tell this to Amamiya for all I care afterwards. The others, only when the time's right.

Akechi: Very well, then let's talk somewhere private. (This is it. I can do this. For Master, he now knows what he's doing half way on this case might be wrong.)

Now we'll get to know what Zen's up to and what Akechi has learned about from his master/step-father up to this point 'so far'.

Zen: So you figured out about the case of Shuzo on how he died and such while saving four of the kids with super powers out of five, correct?

Akechi: It's the first case we've done together. He was killed than an accident of the lab went on fire. Aika is Picaro, Hitomi is Kaguya, Hans and Ellen are half human still and something very powerful from the Pandora Box affects. Mia sadly pass away due to the illness she had, the suspects could be the Hooded Man known as Dr. Guru and his lab partner of one of the twin sisters. The mean one most likely. And I know of Shuzo knew my mother to be very close once, he could've been my real father instead of Shido...So what about it, Master?

Zen: Well, about Shuzo...Since you got one part right, for other one between him and his lab partner of the other two who are also on the run...

He was hesitating to say anything to Akechi at all, but he can handle it all.

Akechi: What? What is it? Please tell me.

And now Zen says it on what he did discover.

Zen: This is what I found out since early this morning when we came back to the real world...Guru seem to have a criminal record on illegal human experiences to be...close to your mother once before this Shido guy was close before Shuzo...He hired Shido to do the deed for this other scientist over jealously. Traces of his fingerprints only and some of his past to still be unknown. I think it wasn't just your real father to hire Guru to get back at her for not loving him back, but fell in love with Shuzo. Goro, this is really hard for me to say this but...I think might have a real villain who aren't the two Guyver twins. And the five kids do have parents, or they once did. They're all related to Shuzo and one of the other twin sister scientists was the mother, and she's still alive somewhere today.

A big shocker there for not only on something from the twins and Mia's mother and father who they really are, but also about Guru might had something to do with Masayoshi Shido.

Akechi: …..! Master...!

Zen: And I'm using you guys...mainly the Phantom Thieves to solve the case along with the commissioner's too. She might have them arrested...

Akechi: But why?

Walking up to Akechi for Zen felt really bad for keeping those things from his step-son/student until now.

Zen: Goro, it'll be OK.

Akechi: What are you saying? Master, please tell me you're lying to me.

Zen: It'll be OK.

Akechi: My mother, the five kids, and Shuzo-!

Zen: It'll be OK.

Akechi: Shido...! How could he-?!

Zen: It'll be OK.

Akechi: All of this involves Dr. Guru the most that I've been having images of!

Zen: It'll be OK.

Akechi: Stop it! You're using me, Keiko, and the others! HOW COULD YOU!?

Zen: It'll be OK.

Akechi: SHUT UP!

Finally hugging Akechi to let his anger out on Zen to take it in on how sorry he truly was.

Zen: I said it'll be OK.

And then Akechi breaks down into tears to hugging Zen a lot to be both mad and sad to let everything out of his system.

Akechi: *sob*Master! Dammit...! I sense you don't want Miyako to arrest the others, right?

Zen: And...I don't want it either. Really, I don't. You guys are awesome to get the job done for us, for me the most. And...For you too.

Akechi: So wait...You know something the others don't know yet?

Zen: Yeah. Look, get mad at me later, it's fine. But I need for you to listen to be very carefully, got it? This is big, Goro. If we want this mission done and everyone safe to still solve this case, then you need to do as I say.

Akechi: And what's that?

Calming down now, Akechi listens in on to everything Zen was about to tell him next. Whispering everything in Akechi's ear to be shocked at first and amazed on what Zen has in mind to keep to themselves about it 'for now', this plan of his might just work.

Zen: We play the cards right, then we all win. Got it?

Akechi: Yes. (Genesis! I didn't think Master would think of this already!) Listen, I need some time to think after what I've heard so far. Please excuse me.

Zen: Goro-! Understood. Go ahead, we'll talk when you're ready. I deserve this much.

Akechi: Got it. (I think Keiko has the right to know first before the others do.)

Understanding the last part to do, Akechi needed more time to understand Zen's true goal to think alone for a bit by standing on the deck side of the ocean view. Zen knew this will upset his step-son over, and hopefully for something will come around it afterwards.

Zen: (Ah, goddammit. I knew this will all come down to this and the main part I wanted to tell Goro from the very beginning. The plan and all, he hates me now. This really sucks.)

Kind of sad, huh? For Loki knew all along before Akechi did to hear and hide to be invisible, he doesn't blame the Persona-User at all.

Loki: (I should've known.)

Soon enough, two days pass for the ship to finally land on shore.

8 - August/20th/Sunday (Fukuoka)

On the road here for Zen to be off on his own for now while Akechi was trying to wrap his brain from all he was told from his own teacher/step-father on something he was told quietly.

Keiko: Akechi?

Akechi: I'm fine, Keiko. Please excuse me while I relax for a bit. My head hurts, I hope Makoto's okay driving a bit longer.

She looks fine for a bit to be driving a bit longer.

Keiko: She's hanging in there from the looks of it.

Akechi: Good to hear. Then we should be fine. (I'll tell her later.)

Keiko: I understand.

And the others seems to be dong fine right now.

Ann: I wonder how Zenkichi's investigation is going...

Akechi: He's fine.

Sounding a bit tired to try hiding the truth from the others for now.

Haru: It makes sense. He did say he'd contact us once he figured something out, but it's never easy to wait.

Akechi: It's how we work on our job together.

Everything should be just fine.

Keiko: Yeah, let's be patient. (Oh Akechi, I hope you're feeling well. What did you and Zenny talk about to get you this sad?)

Akechi: Exactly. He knows what he's doing. We'll do what we can for now.

Waiting can still be boring, but to still be worth it.

Morgana: All we can do right now is put our faith in him. It'll be fine, Madame Keiko. Akechi. He's the only one who can get the job done and Akechi here to back us up, as always.

Akechi: ...

Ryuji: Hey, Akechi, it's fine. You're starting to get work up on nothing again. So guess we ended up relyin' on him a lot, huh? Our other backup.

Yusuke: All of us wish to uncover the truth behind this case. In this, our goals are aligned.

For some good parts so far and some hard ones to decide alone so far.

Makoto: That's right. And as long as we stay on the lookout for Jails, we'll be doing our part.

Keiko: I hope the Guyver twins will be fine and the other twin sisters. I'm more worried about all of them.

Makoto: I think they'll be fine, Keiko-Chan. We all do. That said, we'll arrive in Fukuoka pretty soon. Sophia, do you sense anything?

Nothing on her end so far...

Sophia: [Hmm. Nothing unusual detected. Not even what I felt in Okinawa.]

Morgana: So Fukuoka doesn't have a Jail, then?

Not every area in Japan has some, just saying.

Yusuke: Strange. Hakata is quite populated, so I figured we would find at least one.

Futaba: Yeah...If only we could fast travel in reality. That'd speed up our search.

Haru: Less Jails means less trouble, though.

They'll get somewhere little at a time.

Akechi: Don't we all wish to rush into things quickly...

Keiko: Akechi...

I think he was feeling more upset more and more.

Makoto: Good point, Haru. Maybe we should just check Fukuoka off and move on.

Akechi: Are you sure?

Soon Makoto started to feel pain while driving. Not good...!

Makoto: Oww...

Not good to hear at all.

Akechi and Keiko: Makoto?

Morgana: What's wrong, Makoto?

Makoto: It's nothing...Just my lower back aching a little from the drive.

Break time!

Futaba: Attention, we have an emergency! Get this woman to sickbay, ASAP!

Haru: Mako-Chan, you're not hurt, are you? Is it because we made you do all the driving?

Probably so, it's good to take a break from here and there.

Makoto: Well, I was aiming for a straight shot to Kyushu, but I never planned on this.

Akechi: This is bad...! Makoto, let me take over.

Keiko: Don't strain yourself either, both of you. We should take a break at least.

Also, both Akechi and Keiko don't have the licenses to drive a car yet.

Ann: You two can't drive yet, but it's a nice thought. But I do agree about taking a break. I think we could all use a break right about now. Let's stop here.

Haru: I think we need more than just ab break-we need rest. It's important to let yourself fully recover.

Keiko: Oh right... (Not driving anytime soon.) I think we all should, and Makoto the most.

Yusuke: Precisely. Straining yourself will only lead to injury. Let's us stay in Fukuoka for the night.

Akechi: I'll cover the hotel bill for this one then.

They need to find a good one so they might as well stop for today, and then pick it up tomorrow.

Makoto: Then it's decided. I'll pull off the highway.

Thanks to Akechi's help and Sophia locating a nearby hotel, they stop for today for Makoto to have some relaxing time to recover the most. Snacks, drinks, and relaxing time now! A good place at some stop with everything they have of an outdoor mall was a good spot to be in; and to rest to stock up just in case, with Akechi doing so to then catch up to the others in a bit to not be a far of a walk.

Keiko: Maybe you should do this one, get some fresh air.

Akechi: ….Yes, Keiko, thank you. I'll catch up to you and the others in a bit. Let them all know that I'm feeling fine between Master and me. I'll be back.

Keiko: Take your time, Akechi.

She knows when Akechi will be fine talking to Keiko and the others in a bit.

Sophia: [Hey, Keiko. About Akechi's behavior looks very serious...Hmm...Is he sick?]

Keiko: No, I believe it might have something to do with Zenny.

Sophia: [It does? Because he looks worried, confused, sad, and anger on something else which has nothing bad to do with Zenkichi.]

Keiko: I hope you're right, Sophia. But let's Akechi be for a bit, he stills care about me and everyone else. Come on. We should go relax for a bit.

Sophia: [Right. Keiko, you have a good sixth sense ability for a human born with a gift. It must be great.]

Keiko: It just something I was using to growing up. (Yeah, Zenny didn't do anything bad but almost thought of doing. Whatever it is, I hope Akechi and him can tell us the trouble. Right, I should let that bother me either.]

Heading back to where Morgana, Ryuji, Ann, Yusuke, Makoto, Futaba, and Haru to be sitting down to eat and drink at the food stands.

Futaba: Fukuoka at last! Ready to make some nostalgia happen?!

Ryuji: Nostalgia? But this is our first time here.

Yusuke: So this is Hakata Station, the gateway to Fukuoka.

It looks more spacey in the area.

Ryuji: Huh. So like, if we're in Fukuoka, and this is the main station...shouldn't they call it Fukuoka Station?

Keiko: Who's the say, Ryuji. And don't mind Akechi. He's just tired to get some fresh air and get a hotel room for all of us. So, he'll be okay.

Ryuji: *sigh* Heh, good for him.

I think this leaves everyone else glad to hear on Akechi's conditions. And speaking of Fukuoka Station, Sophia had something to say that she just looked up on.

Sophia: [Trivia: Interestingly enough, there is a Fukuoka Station located in Toyama Prefecture, to the north.]

Ann: Really?! All the way up there?! Then, does that mean there's Toyama Station here in Fukuoka?

Big trivia there indeed to learn about.

Haru: I don't think they'd switch things up on purpose. Anyway, I understand this place is Kukuoka's central activity hub.

Keiko: We got a hotel around here to stay in, here we should let Makoto rest.

With one other thing in mind...

Morgana: Mmmm...I wonder how popular the food is here. But Makoto's care comes first.

Haru: That would be wise. We should find a place to stay so Mako-Chan can recover. Good thinking, Keiko-Chan.

Keiko: Of course.

Makoto: Sorry...Thanks for understanding, though.

They didn't mind at all for a little breather will do them all the good.

Ryuji: Don't sweat it. Akechi's the same thing from working and having some fun. First we grub down, then we hit the hay. You'll be good in no time!

Futaba: There you have it. Sophia, you know the drill!

Keiko: It's your time to shine again.

Leaving to her AI skills.

Sophia: [Based on data from previous drills, I've found us an appropriate hotel in addition to a restaurant nearby.]

Morgana: Wow, Sophia, you work fast! Okay, everyone, it's time for some R&R!

Keiko: Then let's go!

While they do so to get everything set up for the night, Akechi got all the things they needed to remember the words on what Zen told him quietly to quote all of it.

Akechi: What Master just said to me... [He said - "If an ambush happens to Commissioner's doing, then it's your move to get them all out to safety without me while I stay behind. What I was almost about to do, I to make it up in return. Trust me. Goro, I know I won't ask for you to forgive me right now, but...I have my reason that I know and you already know about too. Please understand."] I will do it and leaving you won't do me any good at all.

So that's what Zen said, huh? So was his words true for Akechi to understand him? Hopefully so...At night time when Akechi was feeling fine now to eat with Keiko to sit next to each other to be a bit calm at least; them, Morgana, Sophia, Ryuji, Ann, Yusuke, Makoto, Futaba, and Haru all enjoy their meals like this at a nice food stand. Of course Sophia can't eat but to study on the different foods in the areas of Japan they've done so far since the trip started.

Keiko: Yummy! Feeling better now?

Akechi: A little, Keiko. Thank you for asking me.

Keiko: You're welcome.

Akechi: I needed some time to think to come to something for now, but we'll worry about that when the time comes. I just wanted to relax tonight with all of you.

Keiko: I understand. With Makoto relaxing and then meeting up with Zenny will come next, one thing at a time. (Good, I think Akechi's solve his own problems from the feeling I'm getting now.)

As for the food they were eating sounded good to all of them, even for Ryuji the most.

Ryuji: Oh, man...How've I been alive this long without Hakata tonkotsu?!

Akechi: Ryuji...Please don't talk with your mouth full.

Using a napkin to aid his friend there with his mouth and talking at the same time. Gross.

Yusuke: I'm awed by the soup's creamy, golden hue, specked with dots of green onion and dishes of red ginger...These three colors combine to form an exquisite harmony in my bowl! I dare not take another sip, lest this masterpiece be ringed!

Ann: Your, uh...masterpiece is gonna get cold.

Makoto: Yusuke, please eat. Less admiring and more enjoying the meal.

Good thing for Morgana in his cat form allows him to eat with them.

Morgana: Gotta say, these fool stalls have their charm. Even I feel right at home here. Hey, Madame Keiko. Let me have a little taste.

Keiko: Alright, here some food.

Akechi: It's hot, so be careful.

Using a fan to cool off the food.

Morgana: Could you, uh...blow on it? Any of you two? The feline tongue is sensitive.

Keiko and Akechi: We got you covered.

All was good for Ryuji to hear Morgana say about him being a cat, well...not likely.

Ryuji: So you finally admit you're a cat. Over ramen.

Morgana: I AM NOT A CAT!

Ha! Now that's funny.

Ann: Here, Makoto, have some of my chashu pork. They say it'll boost your energy!

Futaba: Ooh, take mine too!

Everyone wants to give Makoto energy and relaxing tonight.

Keiko: Add pickled mustard greens.

Morgana: Don't forget your red ginger.

Akechi: Have some garlic too.

Just to add some of the food for Makoto one at a time.

Makoto: Thanks. You guys are the best.

Yusuke: For you, Ms. Makoto, I will do anything for my love.

Haru: How's your lower back doing, Mako-Chan?

Makoto: Better, after a nice, hot bath. That always seems to do the trick. That being said, I probably shouldn't be on the road tomorrow, if only to avoid causing an accident.

That would be bad. To let Zen know about it the sooner, then the better.

Ryuji: All right, then we'll take the day off. Guess we should hit up Gramps and let him know we're staying another night. Is that good for you, Akechi?

Akechi: It's fine, he'll get it.

Ann: Good to know! Then let's find Makoto a massage place for tomorrow! I say the girl deserves it.

Sophia: [Got it. I'll locate the best venue there is.]

Ryuji: I gotta say though, it is kinda rough having only one driver. We oughta get our license soon, Keiko.

Yeah, but Akechi and Keiko started to get a house with jobs, school to finish with, and Morgana keeping them company.

Keiko: I know, but Akechi and I were so busy moving into our new home.

Akechi: I do have an ID to drive certain cars only in some areas, not in different ones from far away sadly. Still, it is what it is in Keiko's neighborhood.

They don't have it but Makoto and Haru do for now in the group.

Yusuke: I believe Haru has one already.

Haru: That is true...Though I am pretty lacking in experience. But don't worry, Mako-Chan! If for any reason you're not up to it, it'll take the whee!

Hearing her say such a thing, this has Makoto worry on how Haru drives. Why? Is it really bad on her end?

Makoto: Huh?! Oh, well...As much as I appreciate that...

Sophia: [Is something wrong, Makoto? You don't look so well.]

Makoto: N-No, it's nothing! Ahaha...

Akechi: Haru's driving...?

This has Keiko who wanted to tell Akechi all about Haru's driving.

Keiko: Yeah, Akechi...You might want to hear this.

Whispering into Akechi's ear to hear why Makoto was freaking out.

Akechi: ...! Oh! I see...That bad, huh? Right.

Keiko: If it does happen, I'll give you the heads up.

Keeping whatever she just said to themselves only. Let just say from the video Keiko remembers seeing from her cell phone of Makoto sending Keiko on Haru's driving during college visits...It was very mess to almost cause a race event in the area. No crime happened, it was all an accident on the parking lots. Oh, boy...Haru can drive but a bit. Ah, yeah...I'll leave that part be for now to get to more later, trust me. Back to story now.

Ryuji: Aw crap. We better dig in before the noodles get soggy!

Eating up the food regularly to be a fine night for everyone. Well, maybe Morgana, Ryuji, Yusuke, and Futaba ate a few more on their ends well 'and regularly'.

Akechi: Mmm...This meal was rather tasty there.

Ryuji: Damn, I'm stuffed! Now I can die happy...

Yusuke: I suppose I should also throw in the towel. Not a drop of soup remains.

This was so not an eating contest here. Gross...

Keiko: Hahaha...No eating contest here please.

Futaba: I can't believe you guys got seven noodles refill. You'd think this was a ramen buffet...At least Akechi's not a pig! Mona.

Morgana: What? I was hungry.

Then the man who works at a bar stands sees them having plenty of their meals.

Cook: Well, I see you boys had quite a meal! I should mention, customers who order over five sets of noodles get a free souvenirs bowl!

Ryuji: For real? Thanks for the hookup, Pops!

Yusuke: Ah...This should serve as good decor. Surely it will brighten up our vehicle's interior.

On what they've bought and kept in the RV so far. They got the little ramen bowl thanks to Ryuji, Yusuke, and Morgana's eating habits. Soon, Zen calls up on Keiko's cell phone.

Sophia: [Keiko. Zenkichi's on the line.]

Something for Akechi to not talk to Zen for a bit.

Akechi: (Master...)

Keiko: I got it, Sophia, thanks. Hey, Zenny, what's up?

[Zen: Hey, where are you guys?]

Keiko: We're in Fukuoka near a ramen shop.

He gets it a bit for them to stop somewhere for a rest.

[Zen: A ramen shop where? I'm gonna guess it's Fukuoka, assuming that you're going at a decent pace.]

Keiko: Yeah, we're in that area.

[Zen: I see. Anyway, I'm calling to let you know I think I found our guy. I'll give you more details in person. Saves us time and energy. Sorry it's so sudden, but how soon do you think you can be a Kyoto?]

Good news to hear through speaker phone.

Akechi: Keiko, please explain to Master.

And so she does as well as Makoto's condition right now.

Keiko: He'll understand when I do. (I explained why it might take a little longer than expected...)

[Zen: Niijima's down for the count, huh? damn, of all the rotten luck...Then what about a bullet train? Or, wait, can't you ask Okumura? Doesn't she have a license? All she'd have to do is take the Sanyodo from Fukuoka to Kyoto. Not a tough drive by any means. I have to lay the pressure on, but we don't have much time. A lot rides on this.]

Akechi: Now he tells us...

Hanging up now to see what they can work out on.

Keiko: Bye then. (Zenny hung up abruptly. I should tell everyone what he wants...)

And so for Akechi and Keiko tell the others on what is going on. They have to leave soon, to meet up with Zen somewhere tomorrow. Since Akechi might be up to date, this was new to the others.

Ann: Wait, so he knows who the mastermind is?!

Ryuji: Finally, we get to bust this effin' punk.

Makoto: Then let's leave tomorrow morning. Being tired is no excuse to delay our mission.

With the main driver still taking it easy a little.

Morgana: As true as that is, be careful not to hurt yourself, Makoto.

Akechi: If anything, then...we might have to rely on Haru to drive us.

Keiko: For the case itself too, let's move out when we can. Time to end this because it's showtime.

Everyone was ready for anything.

Ryuji: Hell yeah!

Akechi: Then tomorrow, we're ready to move out. We'll find out how to get there somehow.

Soon enough to rest, eat, and shower...they were heading out to do something for Makoto and maybe Haru too from driving to Kyoto.

8 - August/21st/Monday (Fukuoka)

All set to be in the RV together to leave from Fukuoka all the way back to Kyoto again.

Ryuji: How far's Kyoto from here?

Sophia: [Roughly eight hours by highway.]

Seems like another long drive to go.

Futaba: Then we'll most likely make it by sundown. Bathroom breaks, done! Seats, comfy! Snacks, ready for consumption!

Akechi: You're welcome.

Haru: Are you okay to drive, Mako-Chan?

Not fully she wasn't yet.

Makoto: Honestly, I'm not at a hundred percent...but I don't want to let you guys down.

Haru: I see...Then I'll drive, Mako-Chan! I'm taking over!

Makoto: Huh?!

From there, Keiko holds Akechi's hands to give him the sign.

Akechi: Ah, Keiko...

Keiko: Seat belts fasten up. Now, Akechi.

Akechi: R-Right.

From Makoto now sitting in the front seat, Haru takes the wheel and Ann sits with the others in the back.

Makoto: You know, Haru...You don't have to force yourself.

Sophia: [Makoto is looking paler than ever now.]

Haru: ...

Keiko: Everyone, please buckle up for what's about to happen next. Just trust me...!

Saying so for some of them didn't get it yet.

Ryuji: You don't gotta be nervous. Just take it nice and slow.

Haru: ...Heh.

Silence was going on inside of the RV.

Ann: Haru?

Akechi: Here it comes...!

She was happy to be driving.

Haru: *giggle* I think I'll be just fine. In fact, I have a special technique that'll make your head spin.

Futaba: Um, is she okay? I'm gettin' a bad feeling about this...

Keiko: Please drive safe, Haru...We're in your hands. (Sort of!)

Morgana: Wait, what's this "technique"?

Now Makoto tells the others who are new to all of this.

Makoto: Um, so I've never really told you guys this but Keiko-Chan...But the moment Haru's hands touch the wheel...

Haru: Get ready to shift into overdrive!

Starting the RV up and...Haru floors it so fast to make everyone scream once the screen fades into black. Oh, boy! This is what Makoto and Keiko were talking about Haru's driving. Not a good one at all to go all out.

8 - August/21st/Monday (Kyoto)

Somewhere in Kyoto

With Zen somewhere below a basement bar to be empty with lots of his work there, he waits for the others to arrive any time now.

Zen: They're not here yet, huh? Guess I'm a little early. Maybe I'll just keep working on the...

Hearing some car rushing by quickly In a fast speed 'being Haru's doing' and hearing a crashing sound catch Zen by surprise.

Zen: What the hell?!

Looks like the Phantom Thieves arrived, in one piece at least! From Akechi giving Keiko a helping hand to walk down stairs where Zen was waiting for them to arrive.

Keiko: Akechi...My head is spinning...

Akechi: I got you, Keiko. You weren't kidding about Haru's bad driving...! Should we tel her...?

Keiko: It's best not to. (I don't want to go and hurt her feelings, Haru does more of the hurting in the Metaverse.)

Akechi: Understood. This stays between the two of us then.

With Zen seeing them okay and Sophia in tact...the others but Haru not so much. Yusuke, Futaba, Makoto, Morgana, Ann, and Ryuji were all freaked and feeling ill from the fast driving that Haru did. Does she know of her driving skills?

Zen: Can someone tell me-?

Keiko and Akechi: Please don't ask or say anything bad to Haru...

Zen: Don't say anything to Okumura...? Whoa, speak of the devil. Uh...Well, you guys got here quick at least.

They all try to take a breathier.

Ann: I thought we were gonna die...

Futaba: I think we already did...My soul's barely tethered to my body.

Ryuji: Urp-gonna puke...

Zen: O...kay? What did Okumura do?

I think it was best if he didn't know about what just happened on the way here at all.

Yusuke: My apologies, Haru, but I request you steer clear of the driver's seat from now on. I only have so many lives left...

They weren't cats, not even Morgana to happy to still be alive.

Morgana: ...

Sophia: [Meowgana's unconscious. Wake him up.]

Akechi: If you want for me to do CPR, then I'm going to have to pass with Morgana.

Not with Futaba around to do the easiest way.

Futaba: Mona, wake up!

Using a glass of water did the trick.

Morgana: Ah! Too wet! Too cold!

Zen: I think cats hate water. And hey, Okumura. What happened?

Akechi: Master, please don't ask.

Zen: And why not, Goro?

As I already said, it was really best not to with her.

Haru: Um...I was just driving normally...I think.

Keiko: I was just a drive to make it a short cut, end of story. Can we please settle down before we talk about the case? (First hear what Zenny found out and then what's on both his mind and Akechi's afterwards.)

And after moving their legs around to all feel better now, they sit down to hear Zen out and Akechi backing up his master 'on what they've gathered so far'. Whatever they get on next will be very useful somehow. Let's hear what Zen has found out so far.

Akechi: Everyone relax and have some water. (I haven't been here in ages. My first case with Master taking me to his hidden hideout. It sure brings back memories.)

An old hideout of Zen and Akechi's, huh? Now this was something big to learn about.

Ann: Whew...The room finally stopped spinning.

Morgana: You have a very, uh, "unique" way of driving, Haru...

Haru: Why thank you, Mona-Chan.

Ah, that's not what Morgana meant there.

Futaba: She really shouldn't take it as a compliment...

Zen: Regardless, I'm glad you guys made it here in one piece.

Let's have Zen or Makoto drive for now on and not Haru a lot.

Yusuke: By the way, what is this place? It seems unfit for a typical gathering of law enforcement.

Akechi: This is where both Master and I work here to own an old building like this one. It's fine.

This was new for the others to learn about.

Keiko: Oh! I never knew that.

Zen: What Goro just said. You could call it my secret base, I guess. Basically, it's a place to hole up if shit ever goes south for the two of us. A good friend of mine used to run it. But now it's just an empty old bar, suitable for investigating far away from any prying eyes.

A special secret hideout out thanks Zen's friend to let him and Akechi have it.

Sophia: [So this is like your hideout. Even for Akechi to work with Zenkichi too.]

Futaba: More like a safe room-No, a safe house!

Akechi: We just make it the best we can. A friend of his gave it to us after stopping the strange robberies to make it to a hideout in the end. All it was is a hacker to make good timing to almost throw Master and me off track, but it didn't.

Good short story there. Even Yusuke sees tons of paper clippings on the walls on Zen's end to be lots of information. And some to be Akechi's at some point.

Yusuke: Those newspapers...Are they not from two years prior?

Akechi: Good eye, Yusuke, they all are.

Zen: More to them...Those newspapers are irrelevant. We have other business to discuss here.

Akechi: Please, Master, tell us.

Zen: Got it. (Good, he's starting to feel a bit better so far.)

Yeah, Akechi's getting there with Zen so far. Slowly but understanding.

Morgana: Then let's hear it, Zenkichi.

Zen: All right. Let me break it down for you bit by bit and some Goro might've gotten on his own. I cross-referenced every name on the list we found in Okinawa. Based on our assumption that the mastermind would stand to benefit from changing hearts en masses...This is who we ended up with.

Showing a picture of some old man for Zen to know so well and Akechi as well, his name is Jyun Owada.

Akechi: How can I forget about this man...! (Him again!)

Ryuji: Yeah...He sure looks like a schemey bastard.

A likely odd suspect like Owada, then this has to be the case.

Zen: Don't I know it...To think he'd turn up now of all times...

Keiko: Akechi? Zenny? Do you both know this man? Is there something wrong? (I believe this man is nothing but trouble for what I'm sensing.)

For one thing - something about Shuzo and Guru having funds of a campaign during the time did have Owada's name on the papers a lot was another clue to look up on.

Zen: ...No, not in particular.

Akechi: We never seen him in person, but we've heard a lot about him during the Case of the Greek Roman.

Zen: He was for some reason we don't know why yet. Anyway, the man's name's name is Jyun Owada. At 69 years old, he's on his tenth term as a legislator. Not only that, but he worked his way up to Chief Cabinet Secretary of the ruling party. In short, he's not someone to mess with. they say he was a Masayoshi Shido supporter during the election last year.

Not Shido's name again. So him and Owada knew each other from the mess to shock everyone to remember a terrible man like Shido and for Akechi to relive it all again.

Morgana: Did you say Shido?!

I hated that man a lot back from the last story. Look it up to know who he was if you guys want to read it.

Akechi: Shido!

Keiko: Akechi, we didn't know!

Akechi: No, it's fine, Princess. Shido was stopped, but it's Owada's turn next. He might be working with this Mother person, along with Guru and his partner.

Keiko: You maybe right.

Lovers together to get through anything like this again.

Yusuke: Unbelievable...I never thought I'd hear his name again.

Keiko: Us too...

Sophia: [Do you know him?]

A lot for Sophia and Zen to learn from them since this was their first to not know much of Shido's background story. Well, Zen does a little about a few things from Shido and his past since he took Akechi in his new family.

Akechi: A rather not remember my real father.

Keiko: Sophia, it's hard to explain to you and Zenny. Shido was our former enemy and he was a powerful foe we ever faced.

Ryuji: Yeah, and one HELL of an evil asshole.

Well, it's what Ryuji said the most.

Sophia: [Oh...I didn't know.]

Keiko: No, it's fine. We'll tell you the rest later. I promise.

Zen: Deal. Sounds like you, Goro, and Shido had quite the history. Goro told me some before I took him in with me. But we're not after him right now. That list contained a handful of Owada's political opponents-people he'd rather not have around. Like with Shuzo and Guru for those two the most, so it's clear he's behind all this. And some Shido did help him get this far to cut ties in return a while back too. However, I highly doubt doing his own dirty work. He'd have a heck of a time getting his political opponents to friend him on EMMA. After checking his inner circle for sympathizers, I found out he's been meeting with a certain entrepreneurs. Quite often, too.

Now that's some of the details to hear about and to be very useful too.

Akechi: Is it Shido?

Keiko: The CEO of Madicce?

Well, it was someone who wasn't Zen himself.

Zen: Well, I think Amamiya got one right. It's the CEO of Madicce - Akira Konoe.

From the convention speech the Phantom Thieves went and listen too when Zen was working and seeing a photo of him again.

Akechi: Of course...Yes, he too is one the suspect list for Master and me to study on his behavior.

Keiko: Akira Konoe again.

Ann: Isn't the CEO of Madicce the guy we heard speak back in Sendai?

The one and only.

Zen: I came across communication records between him and the director at Okinawa...and it showed they kept in contact.

Makoto: Then the pieces all fit.

Akechi: They do.

Zen: Yeah. Whenever Owada wants someone out of his way, he calls on Konoe to take action...

Akechi: He wasn't the one from the five year event of the five kids, but Owada had Konoe make the Jail and the fire to have someone to do the rest of the dirty work to kill many lives that did and some to go missing.

And that's not all, there was more other that event might've happened...With more to it of course.

Zen: And the director at Okinawa was likely the one who arranged this. Now, it's too late to tell.

Futaba: Hold on. If Konoe's the one changing hearts, door that make him a Monarch too?

Having EMMA and such the creator on the other half, he must have one.

Haru: But he's the CEO of Madicce. Wouldn't he get one of his subordinates to do the job for him?

Zen: I suppose it would be natural to assume that. But as you all know, in order to change someone's heart, you need to be their friend on EMMA. Everyone Owada associates with is a big-time elite. And Konoe's the only one in their league.

Akechi: He keeps some he likes, and the rest to go down in seconds.

So Owada has gotten away on some of the things scout free lately.

Morgana: Besides, he's the head of the huge company. If anything, I think he'd want to be a Monarch as well. He wouldn't want to risk his heart getting changed by someone else, either.

Zen: Another thing. The people on that list most likely had their hearts changed in Osaka.

Lots of people's hearts were changed mostly in Osaka?

Ann: Huh? Why do you say that?

Zen: Everyone on that list who went crazy had all traveled to Osaka at some point.

Akechi: Because of Konoe might also be connected with Shuzo and Guru when they use to work together, another suspect to look into on our list.

Showing photos of the three would make much more sense.

Zen: That's also where Madicce's main office is. Meaning there's a good chance we'll find a Jail in Osaka...with Konoe as its Monarch. Though, the only way we'll know for sure is if Sophia sense it.

Lucky she has on her end.

Sophia: [I did sense a Jail.]

Shocking for the others to hear about this.

Keiko: Already?

Ryuji: Huh?!

Then Haru remembers about the area they pass by thanks to Sophia sensing a Jail there. Well, it's only because of Haru's bad fast driving.

Haru: Oh, right, we did pass through Osaka when I took a wrong turn.

Ryuji: Sophia, you shoulda spoken up!

Getting hit on the head again by Akechi's doing. When he smiles to do it sometimes and get serious, he really means well deep down and it's still kind of funny.

Akechi: What Ryuji meant to say is to try remembering to tell us right away is all. He doesn't mean to to be rude.

Sophia: [It's okay, I understand. I did speak up. But you guys were too busy to listen.]

Ryuji: Ouch...! Akechi, a heads up next time, will ya? Before you hit my goddamn head.

See? It was for them to be screaming to not hear Sophia say of a Jail in Osaka.

Ann: If it was when Haru was driving...

Yusuke: Then we were likely too busy screaming for our lives...

Haru: Hm?

Keiko: Ah...It's nothing, Haru! Nothing at all, we just pass by without noticing! Hahaha...

Playing along to not say anything to her from the driving accident. Yeah...

Zen: Well, that certainly makes things easier. So it's confirmed there's a Jail in Osaka. Now we just need to determine whether Konoe's the Monarch or not.

Ryuji: Wait, if you know that much already, why not cuff his ass right now?!

Keiko: No, Ryuji. Well, I agree and everything you're trying to say...

Akechi: But sadly, there's a reason. We have no proof.

It's sad but true. Without any evidences on Konoe, neither Zen nor Akechi can't arrest him even if he's behind the whole thing.

Zen: Amamiya's right. Now here's the issue. That list only spells out his motives and connections. It isn't solid proof that he's been changing hearts. We can't arrest him on speculation alone. The most we can do is conduct a search, and that's only with his consent. Hell he could pack up and run if he wanted too. We don't have any legal authority over him.

Akechi: I only wish we could question him about Konoe's relation with Shuzo and Guru, but even so...he'll be on to us.

Zen: Another thing i noticed is how many high-ranking members of the force were on that list.

So there's a problem there.

Makoto: You think he's changed their hearts too? To get the police in his pocket?

Zen: Yeah, and from the look of it, not just the rank and file, either.

Makoto: So that's why you called us here...Because you don't know who the real enemies are.

Akechi: I don't know myself, I only know from the people in the case to still be on my mind.

That's all both Akechi and Zen can uncover right now.

Zen: The least I can do without being traced is some light investigation. And even then, that might be impossible. If it's the top brass we're dealing with, they might just leak the info and take action before can lift a finger.

Yusuke: In other words, the police are not our allies.

For some of them aren't but Zen 'who's beginning to understand better now' and Akechi are on the Phantom Thieves' side.

Ryuji: Heh, what else is new?

Zen: ...You do realize I'm also a man in uniform?

Akechi: I'm fine since I'm doing both things, Master.

Zen: Thanks...? Anyway, it's obvious that going about this the regular way is out of the question. What we need is something a bit more uncanny...Something only you guys are capable of.

What does he mean there?

Keiko: You want us to change his heart? Konoe?

Akechi: I rather do from not torturing or kidnapping him.

First one will done fine than the other two to be a joke.

Zen: Goro!

Akechi: I wouldn't do such a thing, Master. I was only joking.

Zen: OK! I get it! If our hunch is right, and he really is the Monarch, we can grab a confession out of him!

Now that part there from Keiko and what Zen said will do fine.

Morgana: That's right. We completely overlooked the fact that Konoe has a Jail.

Makoto: But won't we need a keyword to gain access?

Zen: Precisely why I had you rush over here. I'll be meeting Konoe at Madicce's corporate headquarters today.

Quick thinking of a good plan there.

Ann: Really? How'd you manage that?

Akechi: Not bad.

Zen: By going about it like a cop. Told 'em we had intel about a possible security leak involving their software. "We received information about a possible party attempting to hack EMMA," so on and so forth.

Futaba: Ooh, does somebody need a hacker?

I hope Zen was fine doing it alone.

Akechi: Do you want for me to come with you?

Zen: It's fine, Goro. I need you as back up. So let me handle this one and you help the others, I promise.

Akechi: Got it...

It was for the best.

Zen: It'll be fine. And Sakura, it's fine. Not even that. I only said it to score me an appointment. At the end of it, I'll suggest he add me on EMMA so I can answer any further questions, and we'll have ourselves a keyword. In his mind, I'll be just another pawn for the taking. So I'm pretty sure he'll take the bait. The moment I get the keyword-if I get the keyword. I'll send it right over. That's what I've been meaning to tell you. Hope it was worth the drive.

Ryuji: Wait, if you're gonna hit up their office, that means you're goin' to Osaka, right? Let us come with if Akechi's on standby.

Yusuke: The sooner we enter the Jail, the sooner we can finish this operation.

A good plan, but Zen didn't want anything bad to happen to him or Akechi to try making up from his almost mistakes.

Zen: Fair, but there's a chance I might not get the keyword. Tagging along for nothing would be a wasted effort. Like I just told Goro. Besides, doesn't Niijima need a breather? In fact, you all look like you need one.

Makoto: Can't really argue with that...

It was best to relax to leave this part to Zen first and then them.

Zen: Bottom line is, if you guys go down, so does everything I've worked for. So I need you fighting at your best.

Keiko: Yes, Zenny. That sounds like a good idea.

Morgana: Got it. So our job's to wait until further contact and some back up we have already.

They needed to do this.

Ryuji: What the hell, now we gotta wait even more?

Zen: Oh? You really wanna complain, right when I'm about tell you the big surprise I have in store for you?

Akechi: What surprise?

Haru: What big surprise?

Zen tells them where to go for Akechi to guide them through...For him, Sophia, Morgana, Keiko, Ryuji, Ann, Yusuke, Makoto, Futaba, and Haru to see a Japanese style of a hotel to have nice rooms, food, drinks, spas, and such. So cool!

Keiko: Wow...Is this for real? (Zenny did all of this for us?)

Ryuji: This...is the spot Gramps got us? Am...Am I losin' my mind?

They're are not dreaming right now, it is all too real.

Ann: No way...We really get to stay here?

Futaba: It looks like it costs a fortune...

Akechi: I'm impress even more on what Master does for us. (Good, I can see how truly sorry he is.)

It means he's understanding them better. As well as Sophia had some information on the hotel they were all staying in.

Sophia: [This is one of Kyoto's fanciest hot spring hotels. A single night averages 40,000 yen per person.]

Now that was a lot of money.

Makoto: 40,000 yen?!

Keiko: That much...!

Yusuke: To be met with such extravagance after our harrowing journey...I am unsure how to process it.

Haru: He did say he could expense it, but is he sure about that...?

Keiko: A good funding on Zenny's end.

Akechi: Yeah, I think so too.

Seems like they'll be just fine.

Keiko: Let's go! It's hot spring time.

With Zen taking a good job to owe something like this place to stay in.

Morgana: We really owe Zenkichi a great big thank-you!

Ryuji: Okay, guys...L-Let's get in there!

Ann: R-Right behind you, Ryuji!

Going inside to settle in and see what their room looks like, it was heaven to them all.

Akechi: Keiko, we got a room just for the two of us...

Keiko: Yeah, I guess we do...

Holding hands for them to love something like this, with the others got something good as well for together or a smaller bed.

Ann: Wow! It's just as gorgeous inside!

Ryuji: Dang...I don't wanna end up breakin' somethin'.

Yusuke: ...

This guy was left speechless.

Futaba: First time I've seen Inari cry over something other than food.

Haru: What do you think, Mako-Chan? Doesn't this room like a great place to relax?

Makoto: It sure does. I saw a pamphlet mentioning how the hot springs here have a variety natural health benefits as well.

Then we all know what that means...

Futaba: Then let's jump in already! C'mon, c'mon!

Sophia: [I'd like to "jump in" this time. Hey, Keiko. Guide me through the water like you did in Okinawa.]

But it's different for the beach than the hot spring waters.

Keiko: Ah, yeah...I wish I could, Sophia, but my phone and you might...Futaba, can you make something to be more water proof?

Sophia: [Is there something wrong?]

Futaba: There's a lot that's wrong. If you're gonna go at all, go with Keiko or me? And hacking of a water proof for your phone would be even harder to pull off.

Keiko: Stick with us girls at least.

Ann: Are we even allowed to have phones in the bath?

I don't think you really can in the hot springs.

Yusuke: There was, in fact a sign that forbids bringing cellphones inside the bathing area.

Sophia: [No fair. But rules are rules. I guess I'll just wait here.]

Haru: There's always the bath in our room, Sophia. Once we're done, I'd be happy to take you in or Keiko-Chan will later.

Rules are rules. Sorry, Sophia.

Keiko: I promise too.

Sophia: [Hooray. I'd like that, Haru. Keiko. Why don't you join them, Meowgana? There's a shower for pets, too.]

That wasn't going to help him at all.

Morgana: I'm not a pet! Buuuut! I won't let that stop me.

Haru: After we're done bathing, we can all enjoy some traditional Kyoto cuisine.

Sounds like a very good plan to do.

Akechi: From spring to meals, sounds like a good planning to me.

Yusuke: According to the website, dinner if a follows - crab, shabu-shabu, heirloom vegetables, and rice soup...A veritable feast.

Futaba: First he cries, then he drools. You're a real leaky guy, Inari...

This what happens when it comes between food and such for Yusuke only. With Hans and Ellen arriving too for Zen was on to Konoe to be their likely suspect and Owada to look up on. So it was time to go invisible on the next part to go shortcuts with their powers to get them through anything.

Hans: Owada and Konoe...Dear Sister, are you ready to get to work?

Ellen: Yes, Brother. I hate to let our vacations to go to waste, but we'll try to act like humans so no one will notice a thing. Let's take care of this first.

Their they go with Raiho watches of Kaguya and Picaro to do the same thing back in the Metaverse areas...

Picaro: Other than Shuzo and Guru on the list of our memories, same with Konoe and Owada...

Kaguya: Then we got along way to go, Picaro. Let's get to work. And you too, Little Raiho. Come on.

With them moving around some more 'but they weren't the only ones to be watched on along with the Guyver twins too', same with Loki to feel something familiar to him of a lead on his people. Another added female Shadow type of ghost to be far different than what the dead Shuzo was.

Loki: Huh? This feeling, I felt it somewhere before from this to be very familiar...She's one of them. And what's worse, she isn't herself right now. Dammit.

Whoever it wad for Loki to feel out of a this female spirit who appearances almost looks like...Akane Hasegawa!? Huh...? Something was off to get Loki's face to turn completely blue in fear 'this was unlike him either'. Yeah, I'm more worried between Konoe and Owada to fear more compare to Guru and Mistress to both be worse. For now, the Phantom Thieves relax until further notice on Zen's end with any luck.
