A/N: Time for the second character
Naomi Torin

Rain poured down around her. Rain. Why is it always rain? Naomi could do snow. Naomi could do sun, even though it made her feel uncomfortable. Naomi HATED the rain. It made everything squishy and muddy. Made your clothes stick to you and made her tail sag. It also screwed with her hearing. Sometimes increased faunus hearing wasn't the best thing to have.
I guess it was good it worked both ways…
Do you want power?
Naomi watched the small camp intently as she had for the past couple of days. The guards were going to change soon. There they were, like clockwork. She knew what would happen. They would sit next to the trees for about an hour. That's when they would snap back up and pretend like they have walked the perimeter of the camp and just got back.
That's when Adam and his little mistress would walk by, checking on the guards to see if anything was out of the ordinary. The guards would say somethings like 'they found evidence of grimm, or maybe 'we saw animal tracks' to put Adam at ease that they were safe. Adam would leave, probably to terrorize someone else or rut with his lover. The guards would just talk and sit around.
Truly the best security system ever.
The White Fang had been preparing for something. Whatever they were doing, it was close to being done. Naomi's would be as well. Tonight with the rain, as much as she hated it, would be the perfect cover.
She slipped down the tree she was in, pushing herself into the bushes underneath. She crawled through the brush making sure to not make any noise. Flattening her ears and tail she slid through the mud. If this happened like she wants it to then it will be worth it. The pain and suffering will be over.
Do you want revenge?
She was close to the guards now. She could hear them laughing about the opportunities that they get to leave on all of Remnant for the faunus. That they were people that would be remembered as faunus saviors. They were delusional obviously. People don't recognize the grunts in an operation, only the leaders. Countless men and women could throw themselves at a problem; stand up for what is right, but they won't be remembered. Only those that truly made a difference will. The most vial or the most vicious. Doesn't history just love the villains?
One of the guards jumped up, pointing his rifle into the darkness. "Who's there?" He swiveled around pointing towards the bush that Naomi hide under. "Come on show yourselves!"
"Did you hear something?"
"I heard rustling. Not the kind made by animals either. Like someone was coming closer" He said pointing his rifle.
This wasn't right! This is not how it was supposed to go! What did she do wrong? She thought she was quiet. She had studied the layout of the camp. She had tracked schedules and guards for hours just to make sure that everything stayed the same. She knew she kept her tail down so that wasn't it. She even used the rain.
The rain! She hadn't felt drops on herself for a little while. She hadn't payed much attention to it, but the rain had stopped. All the shuffling through dried brush on the ground must have made a racket.
"Want me to check it out?" One guard asked the other. Without confirmation the guard started heading towards the bush.
This was not going to end this way. Naomi slowly reached towards the back of her waist. She started thinking about how this would play out. They were looking for someone, but they probably wouldn't expect her to hop out of the bush. She would knock the first one out with her revolver before using her semblance to encase the gun of the other guard, preventing it from firing. Then she would cut him down with her sword. It was perfect it would work so that she could get back to her main objective.
Naomi grabbed her pistol grip. The guard was almost there. Just a little closer...and…
"Oh my my. What do we have here? Some animals playing in the dark?" a voice cut through the darkness from a bush not far away from Naomi. The guards put there rifles up, tensing.
Out stepped a beautiful woman with black hair. She wore a crimson dress that showed her shoulders, two straps came from the front of the dress and wrapped around her neck, securing it in place. The guards were taken aback by her looks, but Naomi focused on the twin blades on her back, and the depth in her eyes. It made her hair stand on end. Her instincts told her to mess with this woman meant to flirt with death.
"Who are you! What are you doing here!" The closer guard yelled.
"You have this wrong. You do not get to ask questions, but I'll let it slide this once. Be glad I show mercy" She shifted her weight, putting her hand on her hip like she was bored, "I've come with a request for Adam." The Black haired beauty stated with a mischievous smile.
"Adam isn't here right now" the one in the front said
"Yea, get lost before you regret it!" The other smirked.
The girl's eyes flashed. It could have been surprise. Maybe amusement when paired with the smile. "I still don't think you understand what position your in. What do you think Mercury?"
The guard closest to the girl was taken down in an instant by a boy in gray. "I think worms should learn their place. The second guard just dropped to the ground. Naomi didn't see an attack, but something must have happened because the guard had dropped his rifle and everything.
The first guard struggled on the ground under the gray boy's boots. Naomi was about to move on. This was good for her. These two will draw all the guards. They will have the attention she wanted to avoid. Plus when she did get done, they would be blamed not her.
She went to the side of the bush and continued on towards the large tent. That woman did say she was here for Adam. She would either have to be patient or quick. Naomi could wait, but those that had fallen had waited too long for her to act.
She made a small cut in the fabric of the large tent. Looking through into the tent of the madman she came for. There were several piles of gear around a table set around the side of the tent. The middle seemed to be open and extended, like a small throne room. If anyone Adam would see himself as royalty.
He was inside, laying on a bed closer to the hole she opened than she expected. He was sleeping, or so the steady breathing told her. Adam was still dressed and held onto his weapon tightly. The odd thing was that his lover that Naomi saw from afar was nowhere to be seen. All too easy.
How did it feel to be so close?
She cut the hole bigger so she could crawl through. In her haste and excitement being so close to her target she knocked into a chest, causing a mask that was on top of it to fall to the ground. With each second Naomi could feel her chest growing tighter, until it clattered loudly next to her. Naomi caught her breath, not daring to breath.
Adam had stopped his slow breathing. His eyes weren't open which was a godsend because Naomi was sure he would see her glowing eyes. Adam shifted in his bed, turning over so his back was facing out towards her, his face close to the edge of the tent. His breathing went back to normal.
She waited silently, then moved forward again. She was close enough. Naomi grabbed her sword hilt. It would only take one hit. He had aura, but he wasn't expecting to be attacked. If she thrust hard enough it would go through his heart. He would die tonight. She brought her sword out of its sheath an inch.
Naomi picked up on running coming closer. She threw herself behind the chest.
"Adam!"
Adam rolled over, pulling his blade out of its sheath, throwing a wave of energy in a line through the air. It would have been the end of Naomi if she hadn't heard the running of the messenger. The messenger was hurt by the blast and thrown outside the opening in the tent he just came from.
Adam seemed confused. He snarled and got up out of the bed. He went to reach for the mask before realizing it was on the floor. He stared at it and its position. Naomi was going to be found, she was sure. This was the end, but she would go out fighting.
Naomi was saved when the woman at the edge of the camp came through the front. "I see you had messenger troubles. Bad news?"
Adam snarled, grabbing and putting his mask on, "What do you want human?"
Two other people came in behind the black haired woman. One was the grey boy that Naomi had seen before. The other was a dark skinned, green haired girl that had sharp eyes.
The green haired girl whispered something to the lead girl. She smiled and nodded. The green haired girl seemed sated, sitting down behind and to the left of the beauty.
"We have come to broker a deal for your services"
Naomi didn't need this. When she heard Adam respond and start talking Naomi knew her chance had failed. Silently and slowly in Adam's bursts of rage did Naomi crawl back through the opening she made in the tent.
For it to be taken away right in front of you?
The trudge back to her small camp was filled with emotions she couldn't handle. Why? Why Why why why? She was so close. Everything was planned! Everything was perfect! Naomi tried making a fire, but all the wood she had gathered was soaked from the earlier shower. After trying a couple times she ended up chucking the wood at a tree.
It clacked off loudly but what did she care about right now? The White Fang were too occupied with those new people, and even if they found her she could take those weaklings. She dared them to. She needed something to shoot.
"You don't get angry very often do you?" She spun, grabbed her pistol and fired, not knowing who it was but knowing she had heard that voice before. "Oh, so close. You should work on your aim with that" Naomi heard from directly behind her.
Naomi jumped forward, spinning in the air while pulling out her sword with her left hand. A blur shot into her. She managed to block one of the attacks to her midsection with her sword. She sliced back right after, following up with two shots from her revolver.
It hit the blur that she recognized as the gray boy from the White Fang camp. The shots pushed him back. She sprang forward using the momentum to stab forward with her sword.
The boy fell to the ground, going underneath her blade before kicking the blade to the side. Naomi covered her hand with her semblance mitigating the damage and keeping the blade from being kicked away. It didn't seem to deter the boy as he kept spinning, landing a kick across Naomi's face.
There was more force than Naomi expected, even from a kick. It felt like she just headbutted a steel beam. Naomi knew she wouldn't have much time. She spun with the momentum, using her semblance in front of her for the inevitable follow up attack.
None came.
Will you wallow in your suffering?
The green haired girl came out from behind a tree on the edge of the camp. "Mercury you know its not good to play with your food"
"Psh, says the illusionist" The boy responded quickly earning a glare from the girl.
"Just kill her already! Stop wasting time. Cinder needs us to get back." The green haired girl huffed while holding up two sickles.
Naomi started to back up slowly. She was having problems with just the boy, this 'Mercury'. She knew she needed to get away. No way she could last against both of them.
Mercury noticed Naomi's distancing and sighed, "Fine. Whatever. Things were just getting interesting too"
Mercury ran straight at Naomi, sending a kick towards her neck, a vital spot. Naomi blocked it with her sword, hearing the clang of metal on metal. The boy had metal plating on his shoes. Why would he? She heard a blast come from the boot as it hit her sword. Something exploded on it, causing her sword to go flying since this time she hadn't expected it.
The boy jumped back smiling before coming in for another attack. Naomi fired her clip of her revolver into the boy but her aim must have been off. The boy seemed to shimmer in and out of view. A quick glance towards the green girl confirmed it to Naomi. She was involved somehow.
"You shouldn't look away from your opponent"
What? Shi- One boot collided with her stomach. Her aura took it but it had still knocked the wind from her lungs. She didn't get to react before the other twisted around, catching her in the face. She was thrown back into a tree. She felt weak. She tried to use her semblance but felt her aura flicker and fade. She was without protection, but she still had her gun.
Naomi staggered back up to her feet, using the tree as support. She pointed her revolver at Mercury. He seemed unworried. Click. Click. Click.
The boy shook his head. "That's the one bad thing about revolvers. Limited shots. Any last words?"
"Go to hell"
The boy shrugged again. "Ah as good as any I suppose"
Or be given a chance at something greater.
"What is taking so long?" The Black haired girl said coming through the darkness. She took one look at Mercury and the green haired girl, then to Naomi. "Explain" She demanded staring at Mercury.
"Emerald said you wanted her dealt with. I just wanted to have a little fun with it"
"Did I?" She said snarling at the green girl.
The green girl 'Emerald' tensed. "You said you would deal with it, but I just thought that we could-"
"Did I tell you to think? Or do what I tell you?"
Emerald cowered, "Yes mame"
The Black haired girl sauntered up to Naomi. Naomi flipped her gun around so she could fight with it. Her sword wasn't near her. She tried to stand up straight but the pain from her stomach left her hunched over.
"She's got a fire in her. Spirit" The black haired girl stated. Quicker than Naomi could see the girl drew her swords, used one to swat away her revolver, her last defense. The other sword went to Naomi's throat. "You have a choice. Die here, or come with me. Follow me and I can assure you, you will get the revenge you seek" The black haired lady smirked, "What do you say?"
Naomi was in a bind. Those eyes, like fire pierced her very soul. She didn't want to die! Couldn't die! Not like this! She would be a failure. Is a failure. Those eyes. There was only one choice. "I will obey you"
The saber was taken away from her neck. She released a breath she didn't know she was holding.
"Good" The woman said slowly, "Then this is what I want you to do"
There was only ever one option.
