Olivia Iris

This was going to be good. So good! She had really outdone herself with this one. But where to view it from? Olivia slipped out onto the banister from the office. She adjusted so that she could see back into the office. She made sure her blue hair didn't get in the way. No way was she missing one second of this. The prank of the ages!

Ironwood came into the office fuming, as he always does. Immediately he stops as he sees a large package tied up in a bow sitting on his desk. Ironwood suspects something is amiss and has one of his guard take it away and inspect it for tampering, bombs, drones, devices and anything else he deems necessary to spout.

Olivia had to duck down while Ironwood noticeably paced around his office. This was supposed to be his space. His safe zone. How could it be that someone got past his guards to put something on his desk? Just unthinkable.

Olivia had to stop from chuckling. It was so easy. You would think she would have to scale the walls and get past layers of security since it was a generals office. Really only two. Disable the camera which is literally just shut it off, and sneak past the guard. Since Ironwood was out when she came, the guard was asleep on his duty. Atlas at its finest.

Ironwood sat down hesitantly. She understood why. She had played pranks on him before. Nothing too bad, but it didn't help his reputation when you go into a public announcement by sitting on a woopy-cushion. He probably expected something, but he would never expect this. It was the long game but oh so worth it.

She sat back down. It would probably take some time. Time she wouldn't want to waste. Olivia looked out. She saw the light from the sun reflecting off the distant mountain peaks. Peaks just as far up as Atlas was to Mantle. She felt a flash of inspiration. Reaching into her sack, she pulled out her sketchbook. She grabbed her weapon from her belt, the pen shining in the light.

She sketched. It made her calm, made her smile, made her forget about all the bad things. Here with her sketchbook was where she belonged. She felt nothing for the military but tiredness and wasted potential.

The sketch complete she examined her work. It was okay. Not her best work, but she was rushed. Inspiration was fleeting after all.

A knock on Ironwood's door had her smiling. It was time.

"Come in" Ironwood called out.

Specialist Winter Schnee came in. She was holding the box that was set out earlier to be examined.

Ironwood looked surprised to see it again. "Well I am assuming the contents were safe then. Bring it here, lets get this over with"

Winter showed some hesitation. Unusual for her. "Sir I don't think this was for you"

Olivia smiled an evil smile. So Winter knew the contents. That made it so much better!

"Nonsense! The package was on my desk and addressed to me, of course its mine" Ironwood scolded a little harshly. It had been a long day dealing with the council. They were not fit to run Atlas. All they did was debate and debate and debate over pointless details while nothing got done. None of them understood the need for action. Talking to Ozpin had changed him.

Winter stepped forward, placing the package on the desk. She looked uncomfortable. "Sir I really think that-"

"Hold on for a minute" Ironwood pressed a button on his desk and up popped a holoscreen showing Ozpin and Glynda. "Ozpin, old friend. What brings you to call today?"

"As you know the new terms start soon for Vale. I was wondering if you had been thinking about my proposal? I guarantee she will be safe" Ozpin said.

Olivia didn't know who they were talking about, but was sure she wasn't supposed to hear this.

"I don't know Ozpin. Security is not what it used to be. Even today I came in to a package on my desk." Ironwood rubbed his head,

"And what's the problem with that? I frequently come back to new things on my desk. Mostly paperwork that I wish wasn't there. So much paperwork..."

Glynda coughed

"Ah but that is what a headmaster is for of course" Ozpin finished.

"To you. Not to me, the head of Atlas military" He grabbed the package and popped off the top. "I don't even know who would dare"

"Sir I wouldn't" Winter interjected trying to push the lid back on the box.

"And if I wanted your opinion I would ask for it. Until then stand down!"

Winter straightened up, "S-Sir!"

Ironwood pulled out the object. He was confused. Winter went red. Ozpin spit out his coffee. Glynda looked furious. It was a very lacy, very revealing piece of women's underclothes from an adult clothing store. It had a large note that read 'For your Fetish' on it.

Ironwood looked back at the holoscreen to see an angry Glynda shut off the connection.

Ironwood looked to Winter still confused and holding the underwear. "I tried to warn you sir" was all he got.

Olivia had to hold it together. She had to, had to…. "Hahahahhha!" She couldn't help it. No way could she be quiet. She just wanted to see Ironwood confused and embarrassed! She got that and more. Oh it was so worth it!

She was laughing so hard she forgot to pay attention.

"Olivia!" An angry Ironwood came after her.

Olivia dodged and jumped off the banister, still laughing. She landed near the base of a tree, using her semblance to slip into the tree's shadow which slowed her down. She thought she was in the clear until Winter landed on the wall next to the tree.

Winter had her sabers out. "Give up. It's time I take you back for some answers"

Olivia stuck her tongue out at Winter and started the game of chase. Not as fun, but it helped her hone her skills. Tracking, evasion, and redirecting your enemy were just a few of the things she had learned outside of the academy.

Winter kept up with her easily, so she went down some alleyways, but still Winter persisted. No this wouldn't do. She had to think.

"Fine if you won't come willingly. You have forced my hand!" Winter swung her saber at Olivia. Olivia managed to slide under it, but was not ready for the fist that came from the other side, knocking her down.

"Where did you learn that one? Specialist training" Olivia prodded while pulling out her pen. Clicking a button on it pushed the point forward, extending into a blade, the sharp sides extending out from the middle.

"Lets just say I borrowed it from an old crow" Winter said smirking, "Though I do it better"

Winter attacked again. Slashing down, following it with a quicker strike from her other saber.

"So you got it from your boyfriend? How scandalous!" Olivia snickered.

"No! There is no scandal! Why do people keep saying that!" Winter yelled. She was mad and that showed in her strikes. They got wilder, but also had more power. Olivia knew she had to get away or she was done for.

"So I'm not the only one who said so. Maybe I should have given that lingerie to him instead of Ironwood. I did use your sizes after all"

"You did what!?" Winter's eye twitched. Olivia knew Winter was never good with romance. She was too much of a soldier to have relationships so she never really dated. It didn't help that she was a Schnee.

"I wonder what Ironwood was thinking while looking at you? Certainly nothing as erotic right?" Olivia giggled. She barely reacted in time before blue grimm started appearing all around the alleyway.

"You're dead" Winter whispered just loud enough for Olivia to hear.

Olivia stabbed one grimm making it disappear. She blocked another, but got hit from behind by another before she could block. While dodging some of the strikes she could feel her aura dropping. She was not on the defensive anymore. She didn't really have a chance from the beginning, but now she was just trying to survive.

A bullhead going over Atlas was her getaway. Once it was overhead, she used her semblance again, dissolving into the shadow of the bullhead. She was tugged away with it, leaving hundreds of grimm surrounding and still slashing at where she just stood.

Olivia walked through the Mantle streets. She kept her jacket hood up as she walked knowing that the drones that flew by would be searching for her. They knew she would probably come here. It was one of her favorite little spots to hide away, not that they knew the exact location.

She slipped behind a building and into one of the abandoned houses. Looking out the window she had the best view of the little monument on the other side of the street. It was a memorial marking a dark day in Mantle's history. The defenses were penetrated and many people lost their lives. Including her mother.

Olivia try as she might couldn't remember her mother. She was too small. Just a baby. All she knew is that soon after Ironwood took her from Mantle and brought her up to Atlas. 'Ironwood's shame' was the name given to her by the papers. She had read them over and over again just to figure out more about herself.

Her mother was close to Ironwood. Not romantically, more like a sister he never had. It turned out that Ironwood was the one in charge of the defense on the day of the attack. He was recently promoted and it was just bad timing. When his friend died in the attack he swore to protect her only daughter.

Olivia

"Hey Mom. I pranked Ironwood again today. You should have seen his face, it was great. So good. Oh oh! I also got this beautiful sketch of the skyline" She looked through her pack intent on getting her sketchbook out. She couldn't find it. Frantically she looked again. It definitely wasn't there. The last time she used it...was on the banister.

"Well maybe next time. If there is a next time. I'm seventeen now. Ironwood wants me to join Atlas Academy or go into the military" She shook her head. All the doctrine, it wasn't her. "I know you want what's best for me mom but...I don't feel right here. Why did you have to go?"

Why did you leave me all alone? It hung in her thoughts.

She should be grateful. Ironwood had cared for her. She had an apartment that wasn't luxurious but sure beat living on the snow-covered streets. But he was a military man. There was no love there in her eyes. He visited her sparingly, and even then it was between meetings.

She sighed and leaned back. "I just want a friend"

After a few hours she hopped a ride back to Atlas. The military leaders around Mantle knowing who you are, or more who is in charge of you, had its perks. This was a normal occurrence for her, so they were more than willing to bring her back to Atlas.

She walked inside her apartment. She was dead tired. What a day. Tomorrow she had to make sure she snuck back onto that banister if only to get her sketchbook back. She knew she needed sleep, but just to be topical she turned on the radio.

Mirror Mirror tell me something

Who's the loneliest of All?

Olivia laid down on her bed on her stomach, pushing her face into the pillow. Was that girl talking about me? She felt her eyes shutting. She was powerless to stop them.

I'm the loneliest of All

The dreams she had were lovely. She was running through the forest, a smile on her face. There were people around her that loved her and she loved them. They were her family. The ones she loved the most.

They ran up a hill. On the top of it there was a small picnic set up. Her mother was there helping to pass out the snacks to the rest of the family. They laughed and told cheesy stories to each other.

She was excited. She wanted to remember this moment forever. She brought out her sketchbook and started drawing it out. All her family on a picnic with the sun setting under the water.

Olivia's eyes opened to a dark room. She heard someone shuffle through her apartment. The radio was still going. She flipped over onto her back just as the radio was turned off and the light was flipped on. It blinded her for a second but when that cleared she saw Clover flanked by the rest of his group.

"Hey guys! Whats up? Did you come to hang out?!" Olivia said smiling ear to ear

Clover looked angry. That took a lot to do. The rest of the Ace-ops were not having it either. She looked at the time. 0324 shown out of the screen.

"Hehe. I guess not. It's a little too early to start the day right?"

"You mean to end it." Elm grumbled out. Her large frame sagged with tiredness.

Olivia scratched the back of her head. "Sorry. I thought you guys were on a mission until tomorrow?"

"We were told to get it done faster because of a new mission that needed to get done for Ironwood" Clover said, "Coming back from a tiring mission to be told to chase you all over Atlas"

"For over NINE hours because someone saw you going to Mantle!" Harriot yelled. She then looked over at Marrow who had fallen asleep on the wall. She grabbed him, "Wake up! If I can't sleep neither can you!" Marrow jumped up, but slowly woke to Harriot's anger.

Olivia knew she was in trouble. "Well I'm right here guys. Mission accomplished! Go find a bed!"

"You heard her" Marrow said, turning around, being stopped by Vine before a very disgruntled Harriot could punch him.

"Unfortunately the mission isn't over yet Olivia" Clover said walking over in front of the window in the room. "Ironwood would like a word with you"

"Come on guys. You know I wouldn't run from Ironwood. I'll see him first thing in the morning. Promise"

"Like your promise to stop pranking?" Clover answered, "Don't make this harder than it already is. We had to convince Winter not to put a 'shoot on sight' order. Whatever you did to her had her fuming bad."

"Seriously she needs to get la..." All the Ace-ops were not in the mood for insubordination, "let her hair down more. Yea, that's what I was going to say….Look, just let me get my things and I'll come with you. I'll just be a few minutes"

"Not happening!" Elm said, holding up a sack.

"Seriously!?"

"You said it yourself" Harriot chimed in, "The faster we get this done, the sooner we can fall asleep"

Harriot slapped Marrow when a snore audibly came from his mouth. "I'm up!"

Olivia got two feet before getting mauled.

The sack was taken off her head. Her legs were chained to a chair set in the middle of Ironwood's office. He was behind his desk with Winter to his right. "Olivia, thank you for joining me for a meeting" He said with a smile. "You're dismissed, go get some rest"

The Ace-ops that were standing around Olivia slouched over, even Clover before trudging out. Olivia swore she heard some 'finallys' and one 'thank the brothers' thrown in. She was definitely going to have to apologize later. Either way she was not going to have any hang out time for a while. That was certain.

"Olivia!" Ironwood shouting brought her back to reality. "You haven't heard a thing I've said have you?" Ironwood asked with controlled rage.

"~maybe~" she said with a small smile.

"The word you are looking for is no, you brat!" Winter sneered

"Winter! Calm down!" Ironwood slammed his hand down causing Winter to stiffen to attention.

Olivia may have been scared at this point, though she would never admit it. What were they going to do to her? Capital punishment!? No way she was too young to die! So many dreams. So many things left to sketch.

"You will be leaving us soon. And by soon I mean tomorrow" Ironwood stated.

They were killing her tomorrow. So little time left. "Just make it quick. Execute me or something. Please no torture?"

Winter chuckled but when Ironwood gave her a look she stopped, "You will not be killed but will start your new life as a student of Beacon academy. After….extensive….explaining to Ozpin about you he agreed to take you as a student. There were some caveats but he can explain them when you get there. It's too early for this"

"So...I'm getting banished?"

"Think of it more as forced international imprisonment. You will be a student. You will study and you will pass, or we will have more words, but you won't do it here. You will be in Beacon. It has been decided that being there is what would be best for you." Ironwood explained, "That being said" Ironwood clicked a button on his desk and the chains around her legs fell loose, "You need to get ready. You have less than twenty-four hours before you are being sent to Beacon. Use it wisely." He pushed a familiar sketchbook towards the edge of his desk, gesturing to her to take it.

Olivia walked up and hastily grabbed it. Instead of heading towards the door like Ironwood thought, she opened the banister door. "T-Thank you"

He knew she wasn't his true child but Ironwood had tried over the years to be the best father he knew she needed. Right now, even as he knew she was leaving his protection he felt fulfilled. She would do great, he knew it. It brought a smile to his face.

"Also you should get Winter to try on your gift! Okay bye!" Olivia jumped off the banister laughing.

Winter went red and ran over to the banister. "I will make you pay! I am a Specialist and a Schnee! Don't think a continent separation will keep me from my revenge!"

Either way Ironwood thought, It's going to be an interesting year at Beacon
