Daniel got out of the tent and hurried towards the stargate site when he heard the strange metallic noise. Zelenka followed him. The two men understood that the noise was coming from the stargate. The ring was spinning. One of the prominent point on the device was lit. The inner ring kept spinning, then, stopped, and another point lit, and the process repeated. During the process, the Egyptian soldiers stood around, all pointing their assault rifle at the device. The Egyptian government had sent the army to watch the stargate, while negotiations were being conducted at the UN. Daniel and his team had been allowed to stay in the area, but their activities had been limited until further notice.
Daniel's colleagues watched the ring rotate, amazed and stressed. Rothman and Zelenka's assistant were standing in front of the inner part of the ring. Two soldiers came hesitantly next to them. Nobody knew if it was a good or a bad idea, but everybody quickly figured out the answer.
The seventh point lit. The metallic noise stopped. Shortly after, the empty part of the circle erupted and ejected a blue matter. The burst disintegrated the two soldiers, Rothman, and Zelenka's assistant, then, vanished. Only the poor guys' feet remained in the sand. Lots of people around jumped, horrified. Daniel didn't jump, he shivered. Radek grimaced, feeling suddenly unwell. He vomited, making Daniel glance at him, worried. Radek made a gesture with the hand to reassure Daniel that he was okay.
The burst of the blue matter left the room for another more stable blue matter, however moving like small waves. A few seconds went by. Nothing happened, which increased everybody's stress.
All of a sudden, aliens stepped out of the blue substance. As tall as humans, athletic, long white hair. It was impossible to see their faces and eyes because they were entirely covered by masks. These aliens were wearing armors and carrying long weapons. In another life, Daniel would recognize these aliens, called Wraith warriors.
The incoming travelers didn't say anything and fired at will. The humans started to run in all directions. Some didn't move, not realizing what was going on. Like Jackson and Zelenka. Humans were hit by energy blasts and fell to the sand, unconscious. Surprisingly, no blood visible on the sand. The Egyptian soldiers fired and hit a few aliens. Unfortunately, the unknown guests outnumbered the Egyptians as others came out of the stargate. The aliens split up while firing to let a small ship, a Dart, appear. It flew over the area and scanned it with a beam of light. The beam captured humans and dematerialized their bodies.
It was complete chaos. Daniel finally reacted. He yelled "Run!" to his comrade. He had to pull Radek because the man didn't react. The two men finally ran away. The Dart reached their position and the beam caught them.
