Marietta Edgecomb sighed to herself as she knocked on the door of Umbridge's office.

You're doing the right thing. Mum would want you to tell. Marietta thought to herself.

"Come in," Umbridge said in a sweet voice.

Marietta slowly walked in, her heart pounding.

Umbridge smiled dangerously at her.

"Is there something you would like to tell me, Miss Edgecomb?" Umbridge asked eagerly. There was a look of excitement in her eyes.

Marietta nodded.

"Well, sit down! Hurry up and tell me!"

Marietta started telling her everything. About the meeting in the Hog's Head, to the weekly meetings that were taking place that very moment.

"So, you see, Professor. H-Harry Potter and Hermione Granger have been hosting these meetings every week. In fact, I think they're meeting right now," Marietta explained.

Umbridge was now wearing a huge grin, and looked like she was about to jump out of her chair.

"Do you know where they're meeting?" Umbridge asked.

Marietta quietly told here the location, and Umbridge quickly got up and headed towards the door.

"You wait here. I'm going to go….fetch some help."

Marietta sighed, wondering what was going to happen. Would they all be expelled? Would she be expelled? What about her best friend, Cho Chang? Would Cho hate her after this? She could just imagine the look on her friend's face when she found out that Marietta had betrayed her.

Marietta felt hot tears sting her eyes. What had she done? She'd never felt more confused. She just wanted to stay loyal to her mum. But she had betrayed her best friend at the same time.

Marietta brushed the tears on her cheek away. Her face felt unusually hot. Was something wrong with it? She wished she had a mirror to see.

"You did the right thing. Mum would be proud," Marietta finally told herself.

Marietta had been forced to make a choice between what was right and what was easy. And she had made the right choice—or so she thought.
