Chapter 3:

To Dragonia ~ Worlds Connected Beyond the Light

Each world is a possibility,

And infinite such possibilities exist out there.

However, in how many of them do you exist,

And in which way?

(Opening: schwarzweiß ~Kiri ni Mukou Tsunagaru Sekai~ - Haruka Shimotsuki)

The group had reached again the meadow in which they had agreed to meet in the previous day, even though Kagome's sudden idea ended up trashing these plans. Though they got back there flying with their dragon armors, Gerardo, Carlos, Henry and Miguel had to take care of carrying Inuyasha, Kagome, Miko and Yasha with them.

- "I've got to admit that flying is far more comfortable than going around in my bicycle" - admitted Kagome after they set foot on the ground again and everyone dismissed their armors.

- "...Keh..." - snorted Inuyasha bitterly, as he was taking Kagome's words as that flying was even more comfortable than going on his back.

- "Ah... Inuyasha, you know that going on your back isn't bad at all, yeah?" - said Kagome getting why he was in such a bad mood. Inuyasha didn't show much reaction to her words, but the others began feeling he had gotten a little happier.

- "We'd like to fly too, though" - said Yasha saddened - "We've got our own Seirei Crystals and can use magic, but we can't use the dragon powers yet" -

- "But why's that?" - asked Henry confused - "We all have been able to use our basic elemental spells and dragon powers ever since we got our crystals" -

- "We have no idea... And actually, no one in Dragonia could tell us why's that..." - said Miko as she sighed and looked at the ground.

- "Hey, Inuyasha... Do you think we...?" - said Kagome in a dubitative voice.

- "We won't know if we don't try, right!?" - roared Inuyasha. Remembering how the others transformed, he took out the crystal from the holder in his necklace and placed it in the slot that the Dragtemn revealed after its crystal screen opened in half, responding to its owner's movements - "Uh... and what was the transformation spell?" -

Everyone face-faulted by falling to the ground.

- "How you don't know what the spell is!?" - asked Tiffany angry.

- "We all got it into our minds after we got the crystals" - said Gerardo rising from the ground as he adjusted his glasses.

- "But we didn't!' - exclaimed Yasha - "But... Nii-san, the transformation spells all have a pattern" -

- "A pattern?" - asked Inuyasha confused.

- "It's more like they have what we call a format" - said Miguel - "It's a series of rules that make it so one thing is the same for everyone" -

- "And what's that phormad or whatever?" - asked Inuyasha irritated. Miko and Kagome sighed from his insistence.

- "It's format" - said Gerardo to correct him.

- "And it's very simple" - added Gabriela - "Just say your main element's name in Ceremonial Dragonian and follow it with the words "Pawatz... Dragoon!" for the first transformation level" -

- "That's the one they always use. The Dragoon form, which summons the armors" - explained Miko.

- "Though lately, even just flying around is getting more tiring than usual" - said Gerardo - "Last time, even a flight of several hours wasn't as tiring as one of a few minutes like the ones we've done lately" -

- "Maybe it has to do with the fact that you now have your powers to full capacity due to the Elemental Baptism" - said Kagome reasoning why they were getting more tired now.

- "It's possible..." - said Roger in a thoughtful tone - "Well, we gotta ask the Dragon Gods about it next time we see 'em" -

- "And well? My main element... is fire, right?" - asked Inuyasha annoyed.

- "Yeah, though you can also change it to your secondary element: wind, using a technique called Elemental Shift. You just gotta focus on why you wanna change your element and say "Seirei Clyezet". That'll swap your main and secondary elements temporarily" - explained Yasha.

- "Whoa! I didn't know that something like that existed!" - exclaimed Gerardo impressed. Gabriela and Kagome also felt similarly.

- "Hehe, you learn a lot when you go to school in Soleila!" - said Miko smiling.

- "Then stop bragging around and help me!" - snorted Inuyasha, fed up with the fact that they always went on a tangent whenever he tried to go ahead with his first transformation attempt.

- "Okay, okay. In your case, the spell would be "Pyrazsyec Pawatz... Dragoon!" Are you happy now?" - said Gerardo exasperated. While he normally preferred that people found out by themselves how to do something, he decided to tell Inuyasha how his transformation spell was so they wouldn't continue losing time.

- "At long last!" - shouted Inuyasha in joy. He then imitated the pose that Gerardo and Gabriela always made to transform: he placed his hand's palm over the Dragtemn, closed his eyes and shouted: "Pyrazsyec Pawatz... Dragoon!" -

While initially nothing seemed to have happened, a red magic circle drew itself at his feet after a few seconds, much to the surprise of everyone else. Inuyasha was then enshrouded by a red sphere surrounded by flames, which shattered after a few moments to reveal him wearing a dragon armor similar to the one worn by the boys, but in red and with a red flame and a green whirlwind in the circular plate on the breastplate. Additionally, his Tessaiga now shone as if it was made from ruby, and its scabbard, which was still attached to his hip, now had flames and whirlwinds drawn across it.

- "Amazing, nii-san!" - exclaimed Yasha surprised.

- "Really! We tried lotsa times doing this, but it never had any effect!" - shouted Miko jumping around excitedly.

- "Keh, now destroying that bastard Naraku's gonna be a piece o' cake!" - said Inuyasah as he showed his fangs in a confidence-filled smile. He then began flying around, trying steep descents, sudden ascents, and all kind of movements, all while he shouted in excitement and amazement for now being able to cross the skies.

- "I'll try it now too!" - said Kagome with a decided voice upon seeing this, and she then turned to Miko - "Miko, how'd the spell I'd use for my transformation be?" -

- "Well... It'd be the same one that Gaby-nee uses for her transformation, onee-san" - said Miko smiling - "Do you mind if we try it together?" -

- "Not at all. Let's do it at the same time" - nodded Kagome smiling, to which Miko nodded. Both took out their respective Seirei Crystals from the holders, placed it in their Dragtemns after they opened their screens, and after they closed, they left their hands' open palms above them.

- "Okay, now repeat the spell after me" - said Miko - "Illyusea..."

- "Illyusea..." –

- "Pawatz..." –

- "Pawatz..." –

- "Dragoon!" – shouted both at the same time, knowing how the spell ended. Like Inuyasha, both got enshrouded in spheres shining with a bright white light, and when they shattered, they emerged wearing white stylized dragon armors, though unlike Gabriela's, theirs also had blue borders.

- "Amazing..." - said Miko breathtaken from seeing what she was wearing while Kagome was looking at herself. Miko then noticed her bow changed: it was now shining in a bright white and seemed to have gained the capacity to absorb light from its surroundings - "So many times I tried it without anything happening... And I finally can use the dragon powers too!" -

She then began flying around, laughing and shouting in happiness while Kagome flew and stood floating a bit away from her.

- "Agh, Miko!" - growled Yasha upon seeing this - "Wait for me!" -

He chanted as fast as he could the same spell Inuyasha did, which summoned over him an armor identical to that of his older brother. Once the transformation was complete, Yasha leapt into the air and flew to Miko's side laughing and doing all sorts of tricks in the air, while their older counterparts flew to them.

- "Hehe, sorry" - apologized a slightly embarrassed Miko as soon as Yasha got to her - "I think I got too excited from being able to use these powers at last and flying around" -

- "No wonder" - said Kagome gently as she flew next to her - "Flying is something we humans have dreamt of since the beginning of history, and not even in my era we're close to doing it like this" -

- "And it's normal, Miko" - said Yasha laughing - "Don't you remember how the other kids were in Dragonia when they began learning how to transform and fly?" -

- "You're right" - said Miko remembering how their classmates behaved during their flying lessons - "They were so happy during the flying classes... But we couldn't ever take part on them because we couldn't use our powers..."

- "Heh, at least the teacher let us play around as consolation for that" - said Yasha smiling - "But still... Why couldn't we use them before...?" -

Before they could continue wondering about it, they noticed that Gerardo and the others were calling out to them from below: Miroku, Sango, Shippou and Kaede were also arriving. Kaede looked at them amazed, while Miko and Yasha were ecstatic to see her again and waved at her from the sky.

- "Ah, Kaede-obaasan is there!" - said Miko excitedly.

- "We also needed to go see her!" - said Yasha happy.

- "Looks like Sango-chan and the others told her you came back. But from the looks of it, they came to see us off" - said Kagome a little saddened as she saw how the others were waving their hands at them.

- "As if it could be helped" - scoffed Inuyasha, crossing his arms while he let his armor's wings continue flapping behind him to keep him airborne - "They wouldn't be able to use these powers, so they'd be useless in Dragonia, and that goes double for Kaede" -

- "Even if that's true," - said Yasha sighing, as he and Miko knew very well how strong monsters were in Dragonia - "It still makes you sound kinda heartless, Nii-san" -

- "And anyway, we know you don't wanna have them going there 'coz you're worried about them, Inuyasha-nii" - said Miko giggling.

- "That's none of your business..." - muttered Inuyasha as he blushed and turned around.

The others just laughed at this.

- "In any case, let's not make them wait any longer. You should also go and talk to Kaede-obaasan for a while" - said Kagome smiling.

- "Yeah, we must've worried her a lot too..." - said Miko a little crestfallen.

The others nodded, so they descended softly to where the others were until they set foot on the ground again.

- "How was your test flight?" - asked Miguel interested.

- "It wasn't half-bad!" - said Kagome joining her hands excited.

- "Yeah! And we wanted to do it for a long time!" - said Yasha jumping around in joy, while Miko showed him a great smile. They both then ran to Kaede's side.

- "Kaede-obaasan, we're back!" - said Miko jumping in joy, though a bit clumsily because of her dragon armor.

- "I've noticed it Miko, and welcome back!" - said Kaede smiling as she gently stroked Miko's face. She turned to Yasha, who had just arrived at their side and patted his helmet - "And you too Yasha. As soon as I remembered you both, I was greatly worried when I noticed how you were never around whenever Kagome, Inuyasha and the others returned to the village" -

- "We're sorry, Kaede-obaasan..." - said Yasha saddened - "It's just that we couldn't do anything when Dragonia was sealed and we were dragged there..." -

- "Don't worry about it, children" - said Kaede smiling - "Houshi-sama and the others have already explained the situation to me, and I don't blame you for what happened. From what I heard, there was no other option available at that point" -

- "Yeah... We might have gotten killed by that evil shadow if that hadn't happened..." - said Miko as she quivered a bit in fear.

- "But even so, it seems that your stay at that other world was very good for you both" - said Kaede nodding impressed - "Even more now you both, Kagome and Inuyasha can also use these strange powers that both Gerardo-kun and Gabriela-chan had at their disposal" -

- "Hehe, they're not exactly the same ones they have, but they're on the same league!" - said Yasha puffing his chest as he placed his hands on his hips - "We're very powerful now!"-

- "Yeah, and with 'em we'll be a match for any trash Tenebross sends out!" - said Inuyasha rolling a hand into a fist with satisfaction.

- "Just try to not get overconfident, Inuyasha" - said Miroku closing his eyes - "Even though Gerardo-kun and Gabriela-chan had access to these same powers, they still had difficulties fighting these demons" -

- "Though it was partly because we had them incomplete due to not having received the Elemental Baptism" - said Gerardo embarrassed.

- "Oh, speaking of the devil! Welcome back to our world, Gerardo-kun and Gabriela-chan!" - said Kaede bowing before them, to which both siblings replied in kind.

- "It's a pleasure to be here again, Kaede-sama" - said Gerardo in a respectful tone.

- "Yeah, and it's great to see you're well like always!" - said Gabriela skipping with her arms behind herself.

- "And I see you brought many friends from your own world" - said Kaede laughing as she saw the group of people that came with them, which were looking at her in shock not only because of who she was, but also because of the fact she didn't have the eyepatch she used to have in the anime and manga they knew.

- "Y-yes, Kaede-sama" - said Henry a bit embarrassed - "It's a pleasure to meet you. Allow us to introduce ourselves" -

- "You seem to be a nice group of young men, and Gabriela-chan's own friend seems like a pleasant young lady" - said Kaede after they all had introduced themselves.

- "Hehe, thanks for the compliments... But what happened that you've taken off the eyepatch you used to have?" - asked Roger confused.

- "Huh? What are you talking about? I've never used an eyepatch, Roger-kun" - said Kaede a bit confused at his words.

- "Hehe, don't mind him, Kaede-sama. He must be confusing you with someone else!" - said Sango as she laughed nervously along with the rest of the Inuyasha group, Gerardo and Gabriela. When Carlos opened his mouth to reply, she silenced him with a glare. Then, they all received in their Dragtemns a text message from Kagome.

- "We'll explain this later. For now, just go along with it, please" - was what the message said.

- "Hehe, yeah, don't worry. Most likely they still haven't fully gotten used to being in this world" - said Gerardo laughing nervously.

- "Oh, it's fine then" - said Kaede smiling.

- "But about the dragon powers and all that stuff, it'd still be cool to go back and forth flying like they were doing a second ago!" - said Shippou as he made "whish" and "whoosh" sounds accompanied by movements imitating birds, which made everyone laugh a lot.

- "Though we won't be able to do that a lot, as wearing the armor for a long time is pretty exhausting" - said Henry.

- "And don't you feel tired from wearing them right now?" - asked Sango a bit worried.

- "Actually... Not yet" - said Miko puzzled.

- "In any case, you should dismiss the armors for now" - suggested Gerardo - "It'd be awful if there was something awaiting us on the other side of the portal, and we were too tired to face it" -

Everyone looked at each other upon considering that possibility: they imagined meeting a large demon behind the gateway and being defeated to it due to exhaustion. Upon cringing in fear from that, they decided to cancel out their transformations to keep that from happening.

- "Pawatz nyulasst!" – said them all in unison.

- "And as far as I see, you had no problems this time with the spell" - said Roger after they stopped shining in their respective elements' colors and went back to normal.

- "Yeah. For some reason, we knew at once which spell we had to use this time" - said Yasha shrugging off the question.

- "And that isn't the end of it: we also know now what're the spells for the other two transformations levels" - said Miko skipping around as she swung from a side to other.

- "Hmm, that is quite impressive" - said Kaede amazed at how they knew all these spells.

- "It wouldn't hurt to try 'em out, then..." - said Inuyasha while he looked at his Dragtemn with a greedy expression that greatly creeped everyone out. He thought: - 'So much power here...' -

- "It's better you forget about it for now, Inuyasha" - said Kagome in a serious voice as she placed her hand over the hanyou's Dragtemn. She had a worried face - "Remember how Gerardo-kun and Gaby-chan always ended up exhausted after they used the half-dragon form, and we need to save our energies" -

Inuyasha noticed that the others also were looking at him with fear or a cautious expression. Upon seeing Miko's scared face and Yasha's worried expression, he remembered the times his youkai blood had gone out of control, and how uncontrollably wishing for power would only cause him grief. He closed his eyes and sighed.

- "Okay, okay" - sighed him in irritation - "Let's do that at another time" -

- "And leaving that matter aside, are you all ready for setting out?" - asked Miroku smiling.

- "Yeah, we are" - said Kagome as her expression became sadder - "But it'll still be sad that you can't come with us... Miroku-sama, Sango-chan, Shippou-chan, Kaede-obaasan..." -

- "It's nothing, don't worry" - said Sango upon seeing her friend's face. Everyone else was also showing expressions of disappointment or sadness - "And we'll still keep on searching for clues to Naraku and Moryoumaru's whereabouts here" -

- "Yeah!" - said Shippou jumping to Kagome's shoulder - "So find Tenebross in that other world and slay him for us!" -

He said this as he made fighting motions and shouted with excitement, which once again made everyone laugh.

- "Thanks for the encouragement!" - said Yasha smiling.

- "Whenever ya want!" - said Shippou placing his hands on his hips and grinning.

- "Additionally, we'll make sure to contact you through these devices if anything happens or if we find where these two villains are hidden" - said Miroku in a tranquil voice as he raised the wrist where he had his Dragtemn - "So if we need you, we'll tell you right away" -

- "In other words, we'll have two groups fighting to save our worlds" - said Gerardo in a pleased - "One here and the other one in Dragonia" -

- "Keh, perfect" - said Inuyasha energized - "That's gonna make things much easier!" -

- "Likewise, make sure to take care out there, all right?" - said Kaede with a serious face.

- "We'll be careful, Kaede-obaasan!" - said Kagome with a smile - "We're planning to come back here after we defeat Tenebross and Naraku!" -

- "Well, there's nothing else we gotta do before going, right?" - asked Miguel as he looked around at everyone else. No one made objections.

- "Yeah, I think we can open up the gateway now" - said Kember smiling.

- "Ah, before that... Give us a second" - said Gerardo in an apologetic voice, knowing they would consider this a waste of time - "We won't take too long. It's just a little thing we forgot to do" -

He then took Gabriela by the hand, which looked at him in an inquisitive manner, and dragged her to a nearby forest. They advanced until the trees covered them from view and turned to see her. On the other hand, Kagome and Miko were curious about what he was going to do and decided to follow them in secret.

After a couple seconds, Gerardo told Gabriela as he looked at her with a worried face:

- "Gaby, I'm not sure about what'll happen when we get to Dragonia or about what'll happen during the course of our journeys... So, I want to do this before we depart..." -

- "What's that, Gerar?" - asked Gabriela puzzled.

- "I want us to sing a song together... It's not a song from Dragonia or from Ar Ciel... But it's still a promise of union" - explained Gerardo in a melancholic voice - "A pact meaning that we'll be always together no matter how far we may get... That we'll always support each other spiritually and emotionally no matter what..." -

- "Okay..." - said Gabriela accepting the idea with a smile - "But since I don't know what that song is, you'll have to sing first" -

- "No problem" - nodded him with a smile.

From their hideout behind the trees, Miko and Kagome overheard their conversation:

- "We should do the same thing, onee-san" - suggested Miko.

- "Yeah... we suffered a lot from the time we were separated... But if we make a promise like that, we can continue supporting each other no matter what happens" - nodded Kagome - "Let's see first how they do it, and then we'll do it ourselves" -

Gerardo and Gabriela stood in front of each other, joined hands, entwined their fingers and closed their eyes. They then started singing...

(Song: Yubikiri – Haruka Shimotsuki)

"WEL OLRY SIO, LE FEL HORY NEO, FEL ORY ARY SE WEL…"

"If you wish for it, I'll always be at your side..."

"LEE WEL NEL FORY, ARIA SIE ESTIA WEL SE FEL ESTY…"

"Never forget it: this song is the promise that binds us together..."

Even though the song was similar in sound to the one Miko had sung the previous day for the Elemental Baptism, it had enough differences to distinguish them both. Both siblings sang both lines twice, and once they finished, they let each other go and hugged.

- "I promise I'll always be at your side, no matter what happens, Gaby" - said Gerardo in a loving voice - "Until my life ends, and even after that, I'll always be with you" -

- "I promise to always be with you too, Gerar" - said Gabriela with the same love her brother was giving her.

The following moment, they heard someone else singing the same song they just sang, and when they went to see, they noticed that Miko and Kagome were making the same promise they did...

- "We better leave them alone as they finish it..." - suggested Gerardo with a smile. Gabriela just nodded, so they returned to the others. Kagome and Miko joined them shortly later.

- "So, can we go now?" - asked Carlos tapping his foot impatiently.

- "Yeah, our preparations are complete now" - confirmed Gerardo. Everyone else nodded in agreement.

- "There's only one more thing we gotta do" - said Miko as she eyed Gabriela - "Gaby-nee... It's time..." -

- "Yeah... Time to sing the Song that will open up the gateway to Dragonia" - said Gabriela a bit nervous - "But... It's really necessary for me to do it?" -

- "It doesn't have to be you... But since you're the Priestess of the Dragon, it'd be best that you were the first one to open it" - said Kagome in a thoughtful voice.

- "And don't worry, as I'm sure you'll do it just fine" - said Gerardo as he placed a hand on his sister's shoulder - "Besides, it's not like it's a Song with a dangerous effect or anything" -

The others also tried to encourage her, so Gabriela nodded with a nervous smile. She then walked a little away from the others, closed her eyes, breathed in deeply, clasped her hands over her chest, and started...

(Song: Dwelling of Dreams – Ciel nosurge)

Habreleriasa Burkei

(May the Door Be Opened)

Shuxuasa, bialr zosph tenea lika thafz ical,

tiafalsa myallade thafz walma oli niyale.

Sing, and let my notes reach your ears,

accept everything you see and feel.

Yiules iloas lika thafz kizau ical,

yiules shuf like thafz ukia ical...

Habrele thafz iadlaselt yiules cabou ical...

May new colors reach your eyes,

may new sounds reach your ears...

Open your mind to new possibilities...

Even though the initial choruses had a strong voice, Gabriela sang with a very soft and dim voice when the main voice entered, as if she feared what singing this would bring. Everyone looked at her worried...

Nyouhma habrelera burkei,

kalia mountyoudor tiafal zosphaael,

ah SEIREI, tiafalsa...

Now, we shall open the door,

may the other world welcome us,

oh, Elements, accept us...

However, as she advanced, Gabriela began showing herself as more accepting of it: despite having her eyes closed, her face of worry and fear began turning into a happy face. She then began extending her arms and placing her hands away from her chest, holding her right hand aloft with the palm open upwards, as if she was trying to announce something to the world. This made everyone relax their expressions in relief.

She then began dancing at the Song's rhythm, drawing all sorts of strange shapes with her hands as she spun around the magical circle that had started appearing at her feet, which was identical to the one she always used for her magic. Then, when she pronounced "tiafalsa", she raised both hands, joined her fingertips, and then moved them downwards in a sudden manner.

Habrelera burkei oli jiall alg,

zelc oli tiarla dea Dragonia

selirdonme zosphaael...

Let us open the door, and head there,

may the skies and lands of Dragonia

welcome us all...

As she sang the final lines, she began drawing in the air before her the Elemental Seal with her hands, and when she finished singing, letting the music and choruses go on without her, a tablet bearing the Elemental Seal's shape, and adorned with gems colored after each element, placed in the zones that corresponded to them in the emblem, appeared before her, surprising everyone.

Then, each of the six parts of the hexagon opened up as if invisible cables were pulling them away, revealing a blue and white light behind. The Song stopped after a few seconds, but the tablet and the light it summoned remained in place.

- "Whoa! Dragonia's songs are really amazing!" - said Tiffany upon seeing Gabriela's handiwork.

- "Really..." - said Miko shocked, which in turn surprised everyone else. She blushed - "It's just... we've already seen everyone using magic through singing... but..." -

- "We never saw it to this level... The closest thing we saw to this was the Elemental Baptism ceremony... But this goes even farther than that..." - said Yasha in a shy voice, trying to support Miko.

- "So that's the Priestess of the Dragon's power…" - said Kagome amazed - "I guess it means she can also do even more amazing things" -

- "Though you're nothing to scoff at either, Kagome" - said Gerardo - "You and Miko are Assistant Priestesses, so you both are capable of similar miracles" -

- "We better leave the chit-chat for later" - said Inuyasha in an impatient voice to turn and look at Gerardo - "We weren't supposed to not continue wasting time?" -

- "You're right" - recognized Gerardo. He turned to look at the others - "Well, let's get going!" -

- "Yeah!" - roared everyone in unison.

- "Let us march onward to Dragonia!" - said he with enthusiasm as he walked first to the gateway. He then turned around, bid farewell to Miroku, Sango, Shippou and Kaede with a gesture of the hand, and jumped into the light.

- "Be careful!" - said Miroku.

- "Make sure to come back in one piece!" - said Sango.

- "Bring me back some souvenirs!" - shouted Shippou.

- "We will be awaiting your return!" - said Kaede.

Everyone bid farewell in their own way, with Miko and Yasha hugging Kaede while holding in the urge to cry this was causing them before going in, and finally entered the portal one by one. Once inside, they felt like they were flying forward in the middle of a whirlwind of blue and white light. They also had brief visions of other worlds through the light, where all kinds of people made gestures as if it were to wish them luck, despite not knowing what or who they were, as they appeared like shooting stars.

After a while, they reached a point where a white light shone more strongly than the rest of the gateway. They felt they were slowing down, and next, they started feeling like they were falling down.

(BGM: In the Beach of Dreams ~Another World~ - Chrono Cross)

- "Whoa! What the hell's this!?" - shouted Inuyasha shocked, which everyone else was also feeling: once the light dimmed down enough for them to grasp their surroundings, they noticed the portal had dropped them in the sky and they were now going to crash into the land. Everyone shouted in shock and surprise and summoned their armors as fast as they could to not end up dead.

- "This is Dragonia?" - asked Gabriela amazed as they glided in their descent to the ground.

- "Yup, we're in Dragonia!" - said Miko smiling. As they descended, their initial fear went away, and they started looking better at the place they were in: it was the valley where the city of Soleila was located. It was covered in soft green grass and flowers, had a few forests at the distance, and the large lake surrounding the island where the city was built was surrounded by several high mountains.

- "This place is beautiful..." - said Gerardo as he sighed, his breath taken away from seeing the valley.

- "It's called the Valley of the Sun, and it's precisely because of its beauty the Dragonians built their royal capital here" - explained Yasha in a joyful voice.

- "So, this is where you've been living all this time?" - asked Inuyasha surprised.

- "Yup! And we'll give y'all a tour around the city once we get there!" - said Miko with the excitement showing in her face. Once they finally reached the ground, they dismissed their armors.

- "What an awful prank" - said Henry a bit irritated - "Why didn't the gateway leave us on the ground instead?" -

- "Good question" - replied Miguel as he closed his eyes and crossed his arms - "Maybe something went wrong with the song" -

- "Maybe it's because it's the first time I've sung it..." - said Gabriela a bit saddened - "I'm sorry..." -

- "Don't be so down" - said Miko as she grabbed her by the arm - "Opening gateways between worlds isn't easy" -

- "You'll surely do it better the next times you try it" - said Carlos placing a hand on her shoulder.

- "If we don't end up turned into frycakes!" - said Roger laughing. This only made everyone sigh as they looked at him angry.

- "I hate to say it, but that was a terrible idea for a kage attempt" - said Miguel shaking his head.

- "Typical. Roger is terrible at picking times for his puns" - said Kember shrugging his shoulders.

- "Anyway, we better get to Soleila as soon as we can" - suggested Kagome - "Remember we have to request an audience with the King and the Queen" -

All the others nodded in agreement and prepared to begin walking to the city. However, before they started, a blue light sphere appeared before them, and it then took the shape of a blue dragon.

- "Lord Iadlast!" - said everyone as they knelt before him, except for Kagome and Inuyasha.

- "I see you have safely arrived at our world, and I am really glad about it" - said Iadlast with a very evident pleased tone in his voice - "I have come to formally welcome you to our world of Dragonia, and to tell you something before you go to Soleila" -

- "May I ask what it is?" - said Gerardo as politely as he could while everyone else looked at each other confused.

- "It's this: I fear that our power and that of the elements found in this universe may not be enough to defeat Tenebross" - said he closing his eyes. Everyone looked dejected upon hearing this - "Therefore, we have decided to do something that will allow you to gain even more power" -

- "And what's that?" - asked Inuyasha in an impatient voice.

(BGM: A Requiem's Melody - Ar tonelico: Melody of Elemia)

- "First, allow me to ask you something: Are you familiar with a world called Ar Ciel?" - asked Iadlast in a calm voice. Most of the group members looked at each other confused, but Miguel, Gerardo and Gabriela...

- "It's a planet where there are three towers!" - said Miguel.

- "Which is located in a reality called EXA_PICO's Universe!"- said Gerardo.

- "And where songs turn into power like in Dragonia!" - said Gabriela.

Iadlast gently laughed at their excitement, and looked at them with a joyful gaze:

- "Excellent. I see some of you do know about it!" - said he as looked at the three who answered. Gerardo turned to his friends:

- "You might not recognize it from the name, but that's the planet the RPG series Ar tonelico has as its setting" - said he with a smile.

- "Wait a sec... That means we can now use the power from that world?" - asked Henry amazed, and the others' mouths and eyes were opening and widening in realization from this. However, Kagome, Inuyasha, Yasha and Miko didn't really understand what this meant.

- "That is correct" - said Iadlast upon - "However, I'm afraid that only our Priestesses will be able to make use of the magic sources present there" -

- "And why can't we use these powers too!?" - asked Inuyasha enraged.

- "Nii-san, calm down!" - said Yasha gritting his teeth. Inuyasha just snorted a "Keh" and turned around.

- "It's a question worthy of being answered, in any case" - conceded Iadlast without flinching - "That is because the magic source for that world is a series of computers similar to your Dragtemns, which require several special functions and mechanisms to execute these spells. I and the other Dragon Gods have taken care of programming special functions for this, including the fact they can now process both Common Dragonian and Ceremonial Dragonian... However, regrettably we could only open up a memory slot in the server called Infel Phira and two in the server called Ar tonelico" -

Inuyasha was left dumbfounded before all this, so Miguel had to explain it to him:

- "All that means they use technology for their magic, and it's limited to a certain group of people" – said him simplifying even further what Iadlast had just told them.

- "So... Why didn't the other Dragon Gods come here too?" - asked Kagome puzzled from the fact that Iadlast was alone.

- "That is because they are acting as intermediaries for Kiockse, EXA_PICO and the Wills of Ar Ciel. The latter ones are proving to be quite troublesome, as well" - said Iadlast with a worried expression.

- "No wonder... After the Grathnode Inferia catastrophe, in which its surface was completely devastated, Ar Ciel ended up hating its inhabitants, and from what Iadlast's telling us, it also decided to close up to the Wills of similar levels to itself" - reasoned Gerardo, remembering that world's history.

- "They destroyed their own planet's surface!?" - asked Kagome gasping shocked while Miko and Yasha recoiled back in fear. Inuyasha didn't really react to this.

- "I'll give you four a short lesson on Ar Ciel's history later, so don't worry much about it for now" - said Gerardo smiling at them.

- "But... All that means I can be like a Reyvateil, right?" - asked Gabriela skipping around.

- "Reyvawhat?" - asked Inuyasha, Yasha, Miko and Kagome.

- "Reyvateil" - repeated Gerardo as he took off his glasses to wipe them with a kerchief he took out from his pockets - "That's a race that can sing to use magic upon connecting to the Towers, or Song Servers, that were built in that world. And yeah Gaby, it means you can be like a Reyvateil" -

- "Yay!" - said Gabriela jumping around ecstatic.

- "And we can do it too, right?" - said Kagome as she entwined her arms around her little sister.

- "That is correct. You two and Gabriela are the only ones that can use these powers" - confirmed Iadlast. This made both sisters look at each other and smile happily.

- "Well, that means we'll have lotsa more power available" - said Henry nodding satisfied - "Even if it's just limited to them three" -

- "However, I also ought to warn you that until they have connected to the Song Servers, you won't be able to access these powers" - said Iadlast in a more severe voice - "Likewise, due to the restraints we had while setting everything up, they won't be able to use Song Magic, and will be limited only to Hymmnos" -

- "In other words, no Hymmnos Words or battle Song Magic. They can only use Hymmnos Extracts, or the Songs that can exert control over the Servers" - said Gerardo understanding the message. The others just looked at him confused - "I'll give you the full explanation later" -

- "And anyway, how're you going to connect them?" - asked Tiffany with her arms crossed and a bit angry for not being able to use that kind of magic too.

- "I shall leave that to Gerardo" - explained Iadlast as he flew to his Seirei candidate. He then locked eyes with him - "I have left in your Dragtemn two special programs precisely for it: one is an Astral Wave analyzer that will allow you to know what a Song does while it's being executed, and the other one is a reprogrammer that will allow you to take Songs you know and modify them" -

- "But wasn't that impossible?" - asked Gerardo amazed.

- "Not anymore, as we have added several special commands to the Servers" - said Iadlast with a calming smile - "They are all listed in the manuals for these programs, so make sure to read them carefully. You will surely find the proper Songs for making these connections very soon" -

- "But using these powers wouldn't be dangerous to them?" - asked Miguel from behind Iadlast upon remembering the problems the Reyvateils had - "Non-Pureblood Reyvateils have short lives because the energy from the Servers harms their bodies due to them being human; and Gaby, Miko and Kagome are like that too" -

- "That will be left entirely to the way Gerardo programs the connections, as I trust he will find the most suitable way to carry it out" - said Iadlast as he turned to look at him.

- "I'll do my best" - said Gerardo in a decided voice.

- "And remember that while you can send these programs to your friends if you need help, I advise you to only do so to those that have programming knowledge" - suggested Iadlast with a more severe voice - "As a mistake programming these Songs could have grave repercussions for the singer and for both worlds" -

- "Understood" - said Gerardo nodding.

- "Well, that is everything I came to tell you" - said Iadlast with a smile - "For now I shall take my leave, and I hope our next encounter will be soon. I wish you the best of luck in your audience with the monarchs" -

He then began shining intensely in blue and disappeared.

Gerardo checked his Dragtemn briefly, and upon seeing the menu, he noticed that like Iadlast told him, there were now two new options: Hymmnos Programmer and Astral/H-Wave Capturer.

- "Oh well, I'll give them a more thorough check once we get to a calmer place" - said he, fully conscious they couldn't lose any more time.

- "Good idea, as you'd keep us here until next week otherwise!" - said Miguel laughing.

- "Anyway, we better get going to the city before it gets dark" - suggested Henry as he looked in Soleila's direction. They all nodded in agreement and started walking to the city.

- "By the way, what was all that stuff with Kaede?" – asked Roger intrigued after a few minutes.

- "What? You mean what she said about never wearing the eyepatch and stuff?" – asked Miguel as they kept walking.

- "Yeah, that's it" – popped Henry – "We're pretty sure she's always worn that thing from a little before Kikyou was killed, but now she's telling she never wore it? What gives?"

- "Damn it… These guys also know as much as Gerardo and Gabriela did… How annoying" – scoffed Inuyasha angry.

- "I agree it's kinda unsettling and embarrassing… But as much as we dislike it, that's just how things are due to us being part of a show in their world" – said Kagome sighing.

- "Though you didn't seem to think much of it last time we were in your world" – said Gerardo a bit intrigued – "I don't know… I guessed you'd be more suspicious or doubtful of me and Gaby" –

- "Hehe, well, we saw first-hand the VHS tapes with the episodes of our anime in your home, remember?" – laughed Kagome while Gerardo's friends looked at each other in shock – "In fact, Miroku-sama, Sango-chan and Shippou-chan had more reasons to doubt you" –

- "Hehe, maybe they were just too nice to leave them alone when they needed help" – giggled Miko as she skipped at Kagome's side.

- "Yeah, and I think they also thought that they needed both Gerardo-nii and Gaby-nee with them for you two to get back to our world" – said Yasha smiling.

- "It's true. Well, at least that was better than being left alone in that dangerous era with no weapons or ways to defend ourselves" – said Gabriela thoughtfully – "Just thinking of being there without my powers and my bow… brrr…." -

She shivered visibly.

- "Okay, okay, we get it was pretty weird when you got there the first time, but… What about Kaede?" – asked Carlos. The others also showed they were starting to lose their patience.

- "Sorry… We promised we'd explain you all about it, right?" – said Kagome a bit embarrassed.

- "Well… That'd be our fault" – said Gabriela, which made Gerardo's friends look at each other puzzled or raise an eyebrow to the reveal.

- "Rather, it's mine… Twice over…" – said Gerardo.

- "Huh? What you mean?" – asked Kember voicing what they were thinking.

- "We ended getting thrown 50 years to the past due to Gerardo getting possessed by a devil and casting a spell that went horribly wrong" – said Kagome saddened – "We all got turned into kids, excepting for Gaby-chan and Miroku-sama: she turned into a girl my age, while Miroku-sama turned into an old man" –

Everyone laughed upon hearing Miroku's fate, while Roger and Carlos were in cloud nine imagining Gabriela as a teenager, which made Miguel and Henry look at them with irritation. On the other hand, Gerardo blushed, and he covered his face in embarrassment.

- "So, you saw…" – asked Miguel once they got over their initial reactions.

- "Yeah… We saw Kikyou's death first-hand. We also saw everything leading up to it… Damn time compression…" – said Inuyasha in a low voice, which sounded both angry and sad.

- "Time compression?" – asked Miguel – "That sounds so Final Fantasy…" –

- "Wha?" – asked Inuyasha and Yasha without understanding what he meant.

- "Hehehe, don't mind that too much" – said Miko as she and Kagome laughed – "But yeah… According to Gerar-nii, the phenomenon the spell provoked and that threw them in that weird way to the past is called a time compression" –

- "Ah, I see!" – said Miguel laughing.

- "Yeah, looks like they call that phenomenon by that name here in Dragonia" – said Gerardo a bit embarrassed.

- "As for Kaede, Gerar accidentally summoned a barrier to protect her from the explosion that originally took her eye…" – said Gabriela a bit sad.

- "Ah, I think I got it. So, she really never lost her eye in this timeline!" – said Henry as the eyes of everyone present there went wide. He then screamed in excitement – "Aaaah! You're so amazing, guys!" –

- "It's not so amazing… Considering how much they suffered when they saw all these things…" – said Yasha saddened, which made Henry feel bad about what he just said.

- "No, sorry about that… I didn't really think through how hard it was on you guys… Inuyasha, Kagome…" – said Henry in an apologetic voice.

- "No, don't worry. But that wasn't the end of it: we also almost got ourselves trapped in the past" – said Kagome in a serious voice – "We had to defeat the demon that possessed Gerardo before the portal back to the present closed, and it was a very difficult battle" –

- "Yeah, we're lucky that I got access to the Half-Dragon form back then" – said Gerardo as his embarrassment faded and he trembled a bit scared – "Otherwise, we'd have either died or remained trapped there…" –

- "Whoa, it sounds harsh" – said Roger sweatdropping.

- "That's pretty scary stuff, guys" – said Tiffany looking at the ground.

- "Anyway, be careful to not tell Kaede anything about her eyes, okay?" – said Miko with a smile. They all nodded in response.

After a few more minutes walking, they reached the lake's border, crossed one of the four bridges that gave access to the island, and once they reached the main gates: large wooden doors with steel grates in front of them, they saw a couple guards: one wore a light blue dragon armor and the other a yellow one. Both had their helmets closed and thus it wasn't possible to see their faces or hair. However, it was obvious they were male from the shape of their armors.

- "Let me take care of this" - said Gerardo as he briefly turned to look at the others. The others nodded, so they continued walking until they were right in front of the guards.

- "Halt there!" - shouted the blue armored guard once they had gotten close enough - "Identify yourselves! Who are you and what business do you have here?" -

- "Good afternoon, noble knights" - said Gerardo as he bowed with a hand over his chest and talked as politely as he could - "We have come to the magnificent city of Soleila to request an audience with Their Majesties, the King and the Queen. Therefore, I humbly ask for us to be granted entry into the city and into the castle" -

They didn't notice it due to their helmets, but as Gerardo talked, the guard's eyes were widening in surprise, and they were perplexed when they looked at Gerardo, Miguel and Gabriela closely enough. They then knelt before them:

- "Impossible...! Your Royal Highnesses, I apologize for our disrespectful behavior!" - said the yellow armored guard with incredible embarrassment, and then he turned to look at Miguel - "And I ask for your forgiveness as well, Commander!"

- "Huh?" - said Gabriela as she walked to her brother, who was left speechless from this. Miguel was like them after he heard how they called him, while everyone else was looking at each other's faces perplexed, not understanding what was happening.

- "Of course, you are allowed entry! We will inform Their Majesties about your arrival, but given it is you both, Your Royal Highnesses, an audience is not necessary! This is your home, after all!" - said the blue armored guard trying to give a gentle sound to his voice. They then motioned their hands toward the gate: they were surrounded by a couple of small purple magical circles, which flew in front of the gate and began spinning, which made the wooden doors and the grate open up. It was like the circles were the gears that made them move, which marveled everyone but Miko and Yasha, which only smiled at their reactions.

- "Now please, come in and head to the castle as soon as you might" - said the yellow armored guard while he and his partner bowed before the group, and moved themselves away to allow them passage.

They entered the city and walked through the main street that separated the city's two southern districts. They saw people coming and going all around them working, doing their everyday chores or simply taking a stroll and enjoying the nice weather there was that day.

- "That was so weird..." - commented Kagome upon thinking back on the guards' attitude.

- "Yeah... they talked like you were members of the royal family or something..." - said Henry in a thoughtful voice.

- "Maybe they mistook you for someone else?" - asked Tiffany confused.

- "Well, it's possible" - commented Kember as he tried to make sense of this - "After all, they called both Gerardo and Gabriela "Your Royal Highnesses", right?" -

- "I've already had some suspicions about this before we came to this world... And I'm not liking it in the slightest" - said Gerardo as he placed a hand on his chin, while his face took on a worried expression.

- "They really think we're...?" - began Gabriela, but Roger interrupted her.

- "We better not start coming up with wild guesses" - said he raising his hand to cut off her thoughts, though they didn't notice that the people that were walking near them turned to look at them briefly with a stupefied face, gasping or covering their mouths surprised before continuing to wherever they were going with surprise imprinted on their faces.

- "Yeah. In any case we'll be able to confirm that as soon as we get into the castle and talk to the king and queen" - said Carlos with a smile.

- "In that case, we better get going" - said Miguel nodding in a decided way - "But it felt pretty weird to get called with a rank as high as that" -

- "Well, it's undeniable you're a great strategist" - said Henry laughing.

- "That's right" - said Gerardo smiling - "Not in vain you're the best among us in strategy games, and as if that wasn't enough, it isn't weird for you to give me a good whooping in card games" -

- "Heh, but I also lose a lot to you when we play them" - said Miguel laughing.

- "Stop complimenting each other and let's get goin' already!" - said Inuyasha enraged. They had stopped walking when Miguel brought up how he got called "Commander".

- "Okay, okay! Geez!" - said Gerardo with some irritation in his voice, even though he knew Inuyasha was right.

After a good while, they reached the Seirei Plaza: the very heart of the hexagon that gave shape to Soleila. In the center, there was a stone platform adorned with an obelisk made from white marble and carved with Dragonian glyphs, which had a large dragon statue in front of it. And in front of the platform, there was a fountain filled with crystal-clear water, which also had a statue of a resting dragon placed over it.

At the sides, sticking to the walls that surrounded the streets leading to each of the city's six districts, there were several shops, stands and kiosks selling all sorts of items and food. There were children playing around the fountain, while there were people coming and going through the streets, entering and leaving the stores, carrying bags and baskets under the arm, while there was a group of musicians above the platform playing for the little audience that was listening to them.

- "It's really a beautiful city! Big and filled with all sorts of things!" - said Gabriela amazed while they continued walking through the large plaza and headed to the street that led to the north, which was the area where the castle was located. The others were also amazed upon seeing how the city was.

- "Yeah!" - said Yasha puffing his chest up. However, his expression turned a bit sad - "But looks like we're gonna have to leave the tour for later" -

- "Yeah. Sadly, we gotta head to the castle right away" - said Miko a bit saddened - "And I wanted to visit Fileia-san and Elaer-san after all the help they gave us" –

- "These are the people who took care of you while you were in this world?" - asked Gerardo very interested.

- "Yeah, and they're both members of the Royal Army" - said Yasha with pride - "But they never wanted to tell us about the things that happened in the castle or in the army itself" -

- "They said it was a state secret or something like that" - said Miko with some suspicion in her voice.

- "Maybe they thought it wasn't necessary for you to know about it, as you're both kids and not even Dragonians besides" - said Herny trying to not sound unpleasant.

- "Maybe, but I'd have liked that they trusted us more..." - said Yasha saddened.

- "In any case, we'll learn what's happening very soon" - said Gerardo to cheer them up as he pointed to the front: they could see a large stone arch blocked by thick grates made from a metal they had never seen before: it was light blue and shone as much as if it was made from crystal.

Once they got close enough, they noticed there were two small stone shacks within which there were two pairs of guards stationed: two that wore white dragon armors and two that wore black ones. Unlike the previous ones, these guards didn't even bother stopping them: they merely bowed to greet them, used the same unlock spell the guards outside the city did to open up the blue grates, and bowed again to bid them farewell.

- "Talking about being professional..." - commented Gerardo surprised.

- "The guards outside must've told them we were coming" - said Kagome with a smile on her face, though she was visibly tense.

- "Honestly, I'm a bit nervous..." - said Gabriela scared.

- "We're all nervous, as this is the first time any of us'll be talking to an actual head of state" - said Henry smiling nervously, as they all had now realized how important their current situation was.

- "And we shouldn't make them wait. Let's go to the castle gate and announce we've arrived" - said Gerardo wishing to get this over with as fast as possible, as he was feeling as if his entrails were dancing conga, and his throat went dry.

They walked through the front gardens, which had shrubbery filled with beautiful flowers and a ground covered in emerald green grass, until they were in front of the large and thick oak doors that protected the main entrance. Gerardo noticed there was a rope next to the door and pulled it, which in turn made a bell ring at the distance: it was obviously the way for visitors to announce their presence.

The sound echoed even at the highest room in the castle, which had its walls decorated with several portraits and paintings, and the ground with several red carpets with gold trimming. It also had a dresser and an internal hallway that led to a bathroom, as well as a king-sized bed covered in light green silk sheets and surrounded by a canopy of the same color.

Two people were in that room, and once they heard the bell, they stood up from the green velvet chairs they were sitting on: one was a tall man that had slightly dark skin, black and slightly narrow eyes, black and short hair, and wore a green shouf with red markings that had dragons as its decoration, black shoes, and wore over his clothes a red and white mantle. The other person was a woman: she was shorter than the man, had hazel hair, sapphire blue eyes and wore a white and blue shouf that was also decorated with dragon figures, which had a delicate silk veil coming from behind, as well as also wearing a light blue silk mantle over her clothes. They were the current rulers of Dragonia: King Yulius Kiolse Drackma and Queen Giova Iadlasa Drackma.

At that moment, Queen Giova was helping her husband to get ready to receive their visitors, handing to him his sword and crown: the sword had a golden hilt with rubies embedded and was stored in a brown sheath that had golden markings. The crown was a golden circlet that seemed to be based on the silhouette of a dragon spreading its wings, with six small gemstones scattered throughout its radius: a diamond, an onyx, a sapphire, a ruby, a topaz and an emerald; and it had carved in its center the royal family's emblem: a hexagon standing over its lowest point that had a dragon's silhouette taking off in its inside. The queen also put on a similar crown on her head, though the royal emblem was smaller and the gemstones were of a larger size. Both had grievous expressions on their faces.

- "Dearest, I know very well how you feel and I understand your current feelings, but we must receive these visitors" - said the queen as the king took his sword and affixed it to his hip.

- "I know that very well, Giova," - said the king after a brief sigh to then take the crown and place it over his head - "And I know as well we ought to grant them an audience, as the Dragon Gods themselves came to inform us of their arrival. However..." -

- "Yes... We still haven't been able to overcome the loss of our beloved children..." - said Giova as her gaze lowered to the floor and she covered her face with her hands - "It has been half a year already... but even so... the pain has not diminished at all..." -

- "Yes... If our roles weren't so indispensable to this world... most likely we would have already joined them in the Eternal Cycle..." - said Yulius with the face warped by the pain. The queen uncovered her face after a few instants - "After they perished, I lost all interest in continuing with my life and in ruling this world... Yet I have refrained from letting these feelings reflect on the outside... As we are the last hope of our subjects..." -

- "Even so, we had to hide these facts from everyone in this planet..." - lamented the queen - "The only ones who know the truth are the members of the Royal Army that we have allowed to enter the castle and ourselves" -

- "Indeed," - confirmed Yulius as he moved his mantle a little so Giova would be able to fix it better to his clothes - "That is the same reason why I forbid everyone from entering the castle, and likewise why I ordered to have them and their friends buried in the depths of the Maze Garden in Seleila Castle, so no one would ever be able to uncover this" -

- "And it also is... the reason for why we had to spread these lies about them still traveling throughout Dragonia in search of a way to defeat Tenebross... my dear and wise son... and my little and sweet baby..." - said the queen as she broke down in tears. The king had to control himself to not repeat his wife's actions, and instead embraced her.

- "We can only hope our visitors will bring us good news... I wouldn't be able to withstand any more pain..." - said Yulius as he hugged his wife tightly. He then gave her a handkerchief, so she could wipe her tears. After she was done and had calmed down, they headed to the room's door, but they heard some footsteps and a voice right before they reached it.

- "Your Majesties" - announced a guard from the other side, which sounded excited but unable to properly articulate his words - "The visitors have arrived... but... it is... it is incredible!" -

- "What is this about, Captain Alfaere?" - asked the king annoyed about the fact Alfaere wasn't giving them any details about what was happening as he slid open a small aperture on the door.

- "I apologize, Your Majesty, but I think it will be faster if you see it with your own eyes! Please, make haste to the throne room!" - said Alfaere in a rushed voice. They then heard his footsteps going away, muffled by the carpet that covered the hallway on the other side of the door.

- "We ought to hurry; Dearest" - said the queen - "It would be a great discourtesy to our visitors to leave them waiting" -

Yulis nodded in response. Both left the room, walked past two doors that were on both sides, until they reached an elevator that was on the other side of the hallway. Once inside, the king pressed a button to make the elevator taken them to the ground level, and once there, they left the elevator, walked up a flight of stairs they had to their left and entered the room in it.

On the other hand, Gerardo and the others waited for a little more time, until at last a guard opened the gates for them.

- "Greetings, esteemed visitors. Please head posthaste to the Throne Room" - said he in a polite voice as he knelt in front of them - "Their Majesties will receive you briefly" -

The guard then stepped aside to allow them in. Once inside, they saw the foyer: it was a large room that had a beautiful marble fountain, which behind had a large set of stairs made of marble as well, and they bifurcated to lead to the upper floors at a small landing that had a set of large wooden double doors in front. The floor in the entire room was of checkered white and black tiles, and it was covered in purple carpets with golden trimming.

There were also several white columns scattered through the room, ending at the roof, which had several banners with the royal family's emblem and the Elemental Seal hanging from them, and there were six exits in it: the entrance, two doors to the left, two doors to the right, and finally the double doors in the stairs' landing.

- "To reach the Throne Room, please climb up the stairs before you and head into the large double doors located in the central landing, though I guess that there is no need to remind Your Royal Highnesses about this" - said the guard in an amused voice - "Now please, make haste" -

As there was no time to explore the castle or to start making guesses about the guard's words with the audience awaiting them, Gerardo and Gabriela put themselves at the group's lead and they all began slowly walking through the foyer, climbed up the stairs and waited a few seconds. The double doors opened before them shortly later.

At the other side, they were marveled upon seeing the beautiful hall they had before their eyes: while the floor was exactly the same as the foyer's, it was covered in red carpets with golden trimming, there were marble columns placed symmetrically throughout the place with tapestries hanging from them and a guard in front of each one, with each pair having a large window behind. There also was a small stair that led to the reason for the place: four magnificent thrones. While two were smaller than the others, all of them were upholstered in red velvet and made of gold.

However, they were quite shocked when their eyes fixed on the area the thrones were located, as they noticed there was a large portrait behind them... there were four people on it, but leaving aside their clothes and ornaments, the artwork could easily have passed for a family photo of Gerardo and Gabriela with their parents.

- "You have to be fucking kidding me...!" - whispered Gerardo as he felt his insides go completely empty and as if his blood had turned into ice at once.

- "No way... This can't be..." - said Gabriela gasping as she moved her head from side to side. Everyone else looked at the portrait with their eyes widened to the size of platters, unable to articulate words. However, they were soon whisked back to reality.

- "Esteemed visitors, please come in. Your audience will commence immediately" - announced the king's voice from the throne. Both he and the queen were looking at the sides, really not having much interest on the audience and looking bored. However, when the group was before them...

- "Your Majesties, we, humble travelers chosen by the Dragon Gods have come to your presence in order to discuss the current state of affairs in Dragonia, and to inquire about what sort of aid we might provide to this world" - said Gerardo as he took out his sheathed sword from his hip, placed it on the floor and knelt before the monarchs in signal of respect, which the others also imitated with their own weapons, even though Inuyasha was quite reticent to do this, but Kagome forced him with a glare. As for Gerardo, while nervousness was killing him and still hadn't completely recovered from the surprise he received a moment ago, he did the best he could to not lose composure.

The monarchs then turned to look at him and Gabriela. They gasped in surprise and...

- "No... This cannot be possible...!" - said the king with his eyes open to the max.

- "Oh, in the name of Iadlast...!" - said the queen as she covered her mouth with her hands.

The monarchs rose up from their thrones, ran to Gerardo and Gabriela, and upon reaching them, they embraced them and cried.

- "My dear son... I don't know... how this miracle took place... but you're back..." - said the king as he tightly hugged Gerardo.

- "My dear baby... I wished so much for you to return to us... You've been missed so much... Oh, thank you Dragon Gods... Thank you for this miracle..." - said the queen as she embraced Gabriela.

Everyone in the group was shocked from this, but while both siblings were quite stupefied, neither of them could say anything upon seeing how the monarchs were acting. In fact, Gerardo and Gabriela ended up crying with them upon feeling all the grief and suffering they had gone through from the loss of their children, which only got magnified due to them looking exactly like their own parents.

- 'No matter how angry I might be with my dad now... I can't help but think... he'd also be like this if something similar happened to me...' - thought Gerardo as his heart broke in pieces.

- 'She's not mom... but it hurts so much to see the queen like this... it's still like seeing mom suffering over me and Gerar...' - thought Gabriela as she sobbed.

They let them both cry with them for a little while as they hugged them back. When they finally calmed down, Gerardo decided it was best to tell them the truth: it would be pointless to let them continue believing a lie, no matter how good the intentions were behind it, as things would only get worse if they discovered it later on.

(End Music)

- "Your Majesties... We understand and sense very well both your feelings and the great pain you are suffering from... But... I'm afraid we are not the prince and the princess..." - said Gerardo as his gaze lowered to the floor. The king and the queen looked at each other shocked - "We are merely their counterparts from another dimension, and we were summoned to this world by the Dragon Gods to fulfill the duty the former Seirei were bestowed with" -

- "Gerar..." - said Gabriela saddened, but she decided to let her brother finish the explanation.

- "I wish to make it clear that we were not intending to deceive you or to usurp the position of your children, as we didn't even have knowledge of what they looked like. However, we still want to lend our services to help this world, no matter the personal cost this may signify for us" - said Gerardo raising his head to look at the monarchs.

- "I see," - said the king with a disappointed voice, which also was reflected on his expression - "It's true that it is very painful for us to learn about this, young one. However, as you say, it is preferable to have a painful truth to a sweet lie. Just for that, you have our gratitude" -

- "Esteemed young man, could you please tell us your name?" - asked the queen as she wiped her eyes with a silk handkerchief.

- "Gladly, Your Majesty. My name is Gerardo Gallucci" - said Gerardo as he knelt in front of them.

- "And the young girl that is at your side and that is the spitting image of our daughter, is she your sister?" - asked the king with his hand on his chin.

- "Yes, Your Majesty. My name is Gabriela Gallucci, and I'm his younger sister" - said Gabriela as she made a curtsy, slightly rising the hem of her skirt.

- "They are truly identical to our children, even down to the names" - said the queen amazed, but her face filled with sadness shortly later.

- "Indeed. Not to mention that..." - said the king fixating his gaze on Miguel.

- "Agreed, dearest. That sturdy-looking young man is just like the son of my own sister, and the late commander of our Royal Army" - said the queen as she also eyed him saddened.

- "I'm other words... looks like my predecessor really WAS a commander here..." - said Miguel a bit astonished.

- "That is correct, and one of the finest strategists our world ever had" - said the queen smiling.

- "Now please, you three introduce your companions to us" - said the king in a gentle voice.

After several minutes, everyone in the group had introduced themselves before the monarchs, though...

- "Come, Inuyasha! Stop acting like that!" - said Kagome pulling his arm so he could introduce with her, Miko and Yasha.

- "Why I gotta do that borin' stuff, Kagome!?" - said Inuyasha irritated.

- "Haven't you seen already how Gerardo, Gaby-chan and the others introduced themselves? Plus, this is the first time we're in front of a ruler, and I don't wanna embarrass myself because you don't want to behave politely!" - said Kagome angry.

- "Feh, like I care about that stuff!" - said Inuyasha snorting.

- "Want me to say you-know-what?" - asked Kagome in a soft voice.

- "Argh..." - said Inuyasha as he finally stopped resisting. Yasha and Miko sighed in relief - "As you say..." -

- "Okay. And... sorry about that, Yasha" - said Kagome as she turned to the younger hanyou a bit saddened.

- "Nah, it's okay. Nii-san is impossible to control if you don't do that" - said Yasha smiling, and Miko did the same. They four they stood in front of the monarchs, who were just smiling amused at this, and bowed one by one as they said their names.

- "It is a pleasure to meet you all"- said the king as he leaned his head forward once the introductions were done.

- "You are quite the interesting group. Yet... you aren't Dragonians like we are, correct?" - asked the queen with a smile.

- "Erhm... No, Your Majesty" - said Miguel a bit worried - "We have come from two different versions of a world called Earth, and we are humans" -

- "While both Inuyasha-nii and I are Hanyou" - added Yasha smiling.

- "Ah, I think I heard about you, Yasha... was it?" - asked the king with interest.

- "Yes, Your Majesty" - replied Yasha.

- "Well, Elaer and Fileia wrote in their reports about how they found you and Miko when you appeared in the hills to the west last month" - said the king.

- "Whoa, Your Majesty... We didn't think you would give so much importance to us being here..." - said Miko blushing.

- "We always must be aware of when people from other worlds and dimensions arrive here, little one" - said the queen laughing.

- "So, Your Majesty, are migrants from other dimensions something common here?" - asked Henry interested.

- "That is correct. Due to the actions of Tenebross and Caellicauts, our dimension is quite feeble, and that causes the frequent appearance of crevices and cracks leading to other worlds" - said the king in a pensive voice.

- "Ah, I guess then you have seen all sorts of people and races" - said Roger.

- "That is correct. Normally, we help them to go back to their original worlds, but if that is impossible, we try to help them to get accustomed to living here. Of course, that also depends on their behavior: if they attempt any actions that go against our laws and behavior codes, they could end up imprisoned, banished and even executed, depending on the gravity of the fault" - said the king with a severe glare, which made everyone shiver.

- "Fortunately, banishment and execution are extremely rare punishments nowadays: most of the migrants that arrive here grasp quite well that they are no longer in their place of origin, and thus they must abide by the laws that rule this world" - said the queen smiling in a tranquilizing manner, which made everyone calm down. Gerardo then put on a more serious expression and addressed the monarchs again.

- "Now then, passing to more pressing issues, Your Majesties... the Dragon Gods told us that we ought to inquire about our next mission: we have received the Elemental Baptism and six of us have been named as Seirei Candidates, so we wish to know what the next step we must take is" - said Gerardo as he bowed before them.

- "Esteemed Gerardo... the first thing you ought to do is head to Old Capital Seleila and search for the Epitaph of Prophecy in the castle that was built there centuries ago" - said the king in a serious voice.

- "The Epitaph of Prophecy?" - asked Kember with an excited face, which all the others were also sharing.

- "Indeed. It is an ancient tablet engraved with Ceremonial Dragonian writings, which talks about the destiny that awaits this world, as well as about the mission the Seirei and their friends ought to accomplish" - said the queen - "Our children and their friends had already read the Epitaph, but they never managed to tell us about what was written in it because their journeys made it difficult for them to return here" -

Her face adopted a saddened expression.

- "But before you set out, we must ask you this... Have you found already a new Priestess of the Dragon and her corresponding Assistant Priestess? Without them, you will be unable to proceed" - said the king looking at the group as he placed a hand over one of his wife.

- "Yes, Your Majesty: Gabriela is the Priestess of the Dragon, while Kagome and Miko are her Assistant Priestesses" - said Gerardo in a proud voice, while Gabriela, Miko and Kagome smiled behind him.

- "Wait a moment... Two Assistant Priestesses!?" - asked the king shocked.

- "Indeed. Miko and Kagome have a rather... interesting story, but the summary is that they are both born from the same soul, and thus both can become Assistant Priestesses" - said Gerardo smiling.

- "It is quite unusual... But I guess it could also serve as a great help to you all" - said the queen as both she and her husband got over their shock - "Though I cannot deny I would be interested in hearing more details about it" -

- "We shall leave that for another moment, Giova. And returning to the issue at hand, does that mean you have already sung the Song of Proof?" - asked the king.

- "No... We haven't, Your Majesty..." - said Miko as her gaze sunk to the floor.

- "Hmm... In that case, we have a problem" - said the queen as she looked at them saddened - "Without the Song of Proof, it is very possible that the doors that only the Priestess of the Dragon can open will not unlock for you" -

- "However, that can be fixed" - said the king smiling as everyone started looking at each other worried -"We shall prepare everything so Gabriela, Kagome and Miko can sing the Song of Proof in the Seirei Plaza in a couple of nights: that way, the entirety of Dragonia will know that you truly are the chosen Priestesses, and you will have no problem opening the doors and seals once you come across them" -

- "Would... would you really make such a favor for us?" - asked Gerardo astonished.

- "Yes, we shall" - nodded the king - "However, we have a condition for it: you will have to feign that you are the previous Seirei, the group that perished recently... As if we admit they died before all Dragonia... Surely the people will lose their hopes completely, even with you being here" -

- "Ugh... I don't like the sound of that..." - said Tiffany twisting her lips.

- "I don't either... we can't say who we are while we're here?" - said Gabriela.

- "Your Majesties... You know this would be very hard on us as well, correct? Besides, I do not think your children would be pleased with this were they alive..." - said Gerardo as he looked at the floor saddened.

- "We know. However, it is a sacrifice we ask of you for the sake of this world" - said the king lowering his gaze - "We trust you shall be capable of accomplishing your duties by your own power, but in case you need the power and help of our people, it will be harder for you to gain their trust without having the name of the royal family backing you" -

- "But even though we said it is a condition, we cannot force you to do it" - said the queen with a sad smile - "So we will leave this decision up to you" -

Gerardo looked at Gabriela's face, then to their friends' faces, which expressed either shock or sadness, and then they both looked at the monarchs' faces. They realized it would be very cruel to refuse the request they were making, so both siblings decided to accept it in the name of everyone.

- "Understood, Your Majesties. We will agree to your request, and we will take the roles of the former prince and princess as you say" - said Gerardo nodding.

- "Very well. In that case, we will start the preparations for the ceremony of the Song of Proof, which we will hold tomorrow at night!" - said the king smiling.

- "About having to feign... It will be for the best that you begin once you leave the throne room... That way, it won't seem suspicious" - said the queen.

- "Very well... Your Majesties, we shall meet again tonight" - said Gerardo as he and the others bowed before the monarchs, to then turn around and leave the room.

- "This seems like a cruel joke of fate..." - said the king as he covered his face with his hand after their guests had left the throne room and closed the door behind them.

- "We can only... trust now in the Will of Kiockse... And hope it is planning the best for all of us, Dearest..." - said the queen as her endurance finally ran out and she broke down in tears.

On the other hand, Gerardo and the others left the foyer and stopped in the courtyard. The heavy air they had from the audience with the monarchs still hadn't lifted away.

- "We couldn't have expected a coincidence any less unpleasant than this..." - said Gerardo gritting his teeth while Gabriela clung to his arm saddened: she was at the border of tears.

- "Seriously, pal. To think you and Gaby are like carbon copies of a couple dead royal people" - said Henry, who still hadn't fully assimilated the whole event.

- "And I'm the exact double of the queen's nephew, huh?" - said Miguel with his hand on his chin.

- "Well, it wasn't exactly unexpected due to how the guards treated you all, but it was still as unpleasant as it was sad..." - said Kagome saddened. Everyone else in the group still had either shock or sadness imprinted on their faces.

- "Err... Well, are we going to see Fileia-san and Elaer-san?" - asked Miko in a not very hopeful tone at Kagome's side, as she was clinging to her and Yasha to Inuyasha like Gabriela was doing to Gerardo. The others turned to her with a surprised expression.

- "Hey, that's not a bad idea!" - said Gabriela cheered up, which also cheered up Miko in turn - "That really could help us to get off all this sadness!" -

- "Keh, talking about wasting time..." - snorted Inuyasha.

- "Well, we can't really do anything until Gaby sings the Song of Proof tomorrow at night, right?" - said Roger shrugging his shoulders.

- "Plus, to you we're always losing time if we're not fighting monsters or going somewhere, right?" - said Miguel laughing while Inuyasha closed up his mouth, unable to find something he could use to reply back.

- "Ehehe, nii-san, looks like they really got you!" - said Yasha laughing.

- "Why you...!?" - said Inuyasha annoyed, which made everyone laugh.

- "Well, at least that lightened up the mood a little" - said Gerardo smiling more earnestly - "So well, where is Elaer and Fileia's house?" -

- "Ehehe, we'll show you the way!" - giggled Miko as she skipped around them.

- "And we could use this chance to give you the tour too!" - added Yasha. Everyone nodded in agreement, and thus they left the castle to head for Fileia and Elaer's house. They stopped every time they reached one of Soleila's emblematic places so Miko and Yasha could give them explanations about it.

Their first stop was in the central plaza, as it was in route to where they were going.

- "This place is called the Seirei Plaza. It's Soleila's heart itself, and here's where they hold all the festivals that take place during the year" - explained Yasha excitedly.

- "Hmm, I can see it's important from the fountain with the statue and the obelisk behind them" - said Miguel as he observed the group of monuments.

- "I'll come back here and sketch it up when we've got more time" - smiled Kember.

- "By the way, what kind of festivals do they hold here?" - asked Kagome in an interested voice.

- "These are fairs and parties to commemorate the season changes, the new priests and priestesses' appointment ceremonies, the post-coronation celebration, the Day of Dreache and the end of year or Seirei Festival" - explained Miko smiling.

- "Hmm, they don't have many celebrations per year, do they?" - asked Henry a bit nonplused.

- "Yeah, and some don't even have a fixed date, so the preparations for them start about a week before the approximate date, which are calculated by meteorologists and other scientists" - said Yasha a bit embarrassed.

- "Agh, stop blabbing around so much and let's go to another place!" - said Inuyasha irritated as he stomped off a little away from them. Everyone sighed while Yasha and Miko put themselves at the lead to continue guiding them.

After walking for a few streets, they reached a set of stairs that led into some underground tunnels.

- "Umm... What's this?" - asked Gabriela a bit scared.

- "It's the entrance to the tunnels that connect the Soleila districts to each other" - explained Miko with a smile.

- "Yeah, and it's there where we can take the stairs leading to this area's monorail station" - added Yasha - "So we can ride it or walk through the tunnels to move through the city" -

- "Sounds pretty convenient. And how fast are the monorails?" - inquired Gerardo.

- "Hmm, I think they're about the same speed as the Tokyo local trains" - said Miko a bit puzzled.

- "In short, they're fast and efficient" - said Kagome amazed.

- "Well, can we board one to go to another district?" - asked Henry with excitement.

- "Hehe, of course! Other of the places we wanna show you can be seen from the monorail, and we can get to Elaer-san and Fileia-san's house faster too!" - laughed Miko.

No one was against the idea, so they all entered the tunnel, walked up a flight of stairs, and found themselves in front of some silver turnstiles. Miko and Yasha walked up to a yellow machine with a screen, several slots and a keyboard, pushed a couple buttons on it, and deposited in one of the slots a yellow bill decorated with the drawing of a dragon standing over a craggy cliff and the symbols 20. The machine then produced a string of eleven yellow tickets and nine silver coins with the Elemental Seal engraved on the front and the royal family's crest on the back from other two slots.

- "What were that bill and these coins?" - asked Henry surprised.

- "Oh, that's a twenty Drack bill, and these are one Drack coins" - explained Yasha showing the money to them - "That's the currency used throughout all Dragonia" -

- "And we came here completely broken..." - said Miguel sighing, as he knew no one aside of Miko and Yasha had even a single coin of that currency - "But where did you get that money?" -

- "Hmm, lemme guess... Fileia and Elaer gave you a weekly allowance or something?" - asked Gabriela giggling.

- "Hehe, that's right. Otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to buy the tickets or any of the snacks and toys we had while we were here" - said Miko smiling. She then separated the tickets and gave one to each of her friends, only keeping one for herself - "Well, you know how things are on our world, right? Just insert the ticket into the slot with the arrow and go through the turnstile" -

They did as they were asked, and on the other side, they continued following Miko and Yasha through the white corridors in road to a platform. They noticed how all the intersections had signals indicating the names of the stations and a map of how the monorail moved through the city.

After a short walk, they arrived at the platform and some of them sat down in the few free chairs to wait for the monorail. There were several other people also waiting to board it.

- "Looks like we'll have to wait a few minutes" - said Yasha pointing to the holographic screen at the side and above them: it said the next train would come in five minutes.

- "In any case, it doesn't look bad at all. It's every bit as advanced as the metro stations from the United States and Europe" - said Gerardo smiling.

- "Yup, and the place's very clean and well maintained" - said Gabriela noticing how there were no signs of trash or disrepair in any of the places they had seen so far.

- "Hehe, they wouldn't be so proud of their world if it wasn't in such a good state" - said Miko laughing.

- "So... What kind of designs do the monorails have?" - asked Kember with interest.

- "It's nothing special. It's like any old monorail from our world" - said Miko swinging from side to side with her arms behind her and smiling.

Once the time limit in the screen expired, they heard a bell ringing and a train car came in, which was white with some blue bands painted on the sides and had the royal family's crest painted on the doors.

- "Hmm, the design's a bit simplistic, but it's not bad at all" - said Kember admiring the train.

- "Well, I don't care much about the design as long as it works well" - said Roger shrugging.

- "And we guarantee it works well" - said Yasha smiling while Miko pouted.

- "I guess. You've rode it many times, right?" - said Gabriela smiling.

- "Yeah. Flying on a dragon's faster, but we normally use them when they're tired or when we don't wanna ride them" - said Yasha laughing.

- "Plus, it's not like we can land or take off from anywhere we want. You'll get fined if you try landing outside some spots, or if you try taking off in the middle of the city" - said Miko.

- "And shouldn't you put more effort in pretending?" - said Inuyasha irritated - "You're gonna look so much like royal family members if ya continue askin' so much stuff!" -

- "Well, I haven't really asked much since the tour started" - said Gerardo annoyed.

- "But he's right. We gotta be more careful if we're actually gonna go through with it" - said Gabriela with a serious face as she gestured to the people waiting for the train in the platform: most of them stopped whatever they were doing and were now looking at them in shock.

- "Yeah... I see what you mean..." - said Gerardo while he and Miguel sweatdropped.

They waited until the monorail opened its doors and part of its passengers got off from it to board a wagon and sit down on the seats. The seats were covered in black upholstery and had silver armrests to the sides. There were also silver metal bars placed in the walls and in the roof so the passengers who couldn't secure a seat could grab onto.

After the people finished boarding a few seconds later, the doors closed up and the monorail began moving. The vehicle left the tunnels, and everyone found themselves on the walls around Soleila's perimeter under the bright sunlight, seeing the city's scenery formed by wooden houses, concrete and glass buildings, towers and stone walls passing in front of their eyes.

- "Hmm, what's that weird building?" - asked Tiffany when everyone noticed a structure that looked like a large blue crystal pyramid, which contrasted greatly with the rest of the city. Everyone else was looking at it puzzled, while the other passengers didn't pay any mind to it.

- "Ah, that's the Royal Museum. That's where they keep the books, documents and artworks from Dragonia's entire history" - said Miko smiling.

- "Sounds like something that'd make for an interesting visit" - said Gerardo with his eyes fixed on the building as they left it behind.

- "It's also the headquarters for the Royal Magic and Technology Institute, where they research everyday ways to improve both things to make people's life even better" - explained Yasha.

- "Heh, I know someone who'd die to work in there" - said Miguel as he gazed at Gerardo. His cousin just smiled back at him.

- "I think most of us would like that, as everyone but Kember is going to study science-related careers" - said Henry.

- "But you gotta know only the best of the best can work in there: the admission tests for it are very strict" - said Yasha with a saddened face.

- "By the way, didja know that it has a tunnel connecting it directly to the Royal Library in the castle?" - asked Miko.

- "Really?" - asked Gerardo amazed.

- "Yeah! The researchers use it to get faster to the castle when they've got something important they need to show the monarchs, and it's also an escape route for the royal family" - explained Miko.

They then continued seeing the city pass before their eyes until, after several stops, the monorail finally stopped in the place they were going to: a station whose platform and walls were softly colored in yellow.

- "Tiarrashe Station. Tiarrashe Station" - said a monotone woman voice that was heard from the speakers.

- "Come! Here's the place we gotta get off!" - said Miko cheerfully. Everyone nodded and left the wagon using the door opposite to the one they used to get in. They then followed Miko and Yasha as they left the platform, walked for a few corridors, went down a flight of stairs, and crossed some turnstiles to reach a very bustling street.

- "So, how close are we to arriving to Fileia and Elaer's house?" – asked Gabriela with a curiosity-filled voice as they walked through the street, with the sound of the people's voices around them.

- "We're almost there" – said Yasha smiling as he saw her over his shoulder – "We'll be at their house once we turn that corner" -

He pointed to the left with his head as he talked. Just like he said, they arrived at the house a few instants later: it was a two-story building that had a balcony looking over the main street at the front and two large pots filled with pink flowers in front of the main door. However, the door was locked, and they noticed there was a note pinned to it.

- "Huh? What happened?" – wondered Yasha as he looked at Miko confused.

- "Aren't they at work or something?" – asked Miguel.

- "No way…" – said Miko as she checked her Dragtemn: the digital clock showed 17:03 as the hour – "They usually are home at this time!" -

- "Guys, you should check the note they left…" – suggested Henry, who was already reading it.

Miko and Yasha got closer to the door to read it, and Miko began reading it aloud:

- "To anyone who comes to visit us:

We're very sorry we can't be at home right now, but there was an emergency: a group of Shadows is attacking the north sector of Soleila's wall, so we were sent to stop them.

Please excuse us for inconveniencing you, and we'll come back as soon as we can.

Fileia and Elaer" -
