Disclaimer: No owning of Fruits Basket for this one. Natsuki Takaya is the creator of Fruits Basket, including the beloved Mabudachi Trio.
Don't be deceived by the disclaimer, this fic does not revolve around the Mabudachi Trio.
"Nii-san" means "older brother" according to vol. 6 of Fruits Baskets (English translated version from TokyoPop). Oh, I have a question for anyone who reads the manga. I've only gotten through vol. 8 so far (pathetic, I know), and I was wondering if there are any volumes that show Aya-niisan and Ritchan in the same room. (giggles) it's one of my favorite parts in the series so far, when Ritchan talks about- oh, but that would be a spoiler, I'd hate to have to scare people off with spoilers, especially just for author's notes.
Much gratitude to Sacre Bleu, who was kind enough to bring my attention to one of my least favorite grammatical errors, using "your" when it should be "you're" or "you are".This story is not new, only edited for grammatical errors.
Nii-san"Oh, Gure-san, you won't be unfaithful while we're apart, will you?"
"My heart is always with you, Aaya. By the way, you should visit Yuki while I'm gone, I'm sure he'd appreciate the company."
"Gure-san, you tease me, you know he'll probably barricade your house while you're gone just to keep me out."
Shigure's eyes were wide in surprise.
"He won't be staying at my house while I'm gone, didn't anyone tell you? He's a minor, and Akito insists that he stay with an adult."
"So where is he?"
"He's spending the week at your parents hou-"
"What? Shigure how could you send him there! Why didn't anyone tell me, I have to go right away!"
…
The taxi stopped a short distance from the main estate, and Ayame stepped out, walking towards the main gate quickly. Aaya rushed in, and made his way to his parents' house, all the while praying that they hadn't damaged the poor boy too thoroughly. He rushed into the house, and didn't see anyone, but he could hear a voice coming from another room.
"Why do you have to act like this? You're always running away and making things hard for me, why are you so disobedient?"
…Flashback…
"Cut it out! Why are you so disobedient? Yuki, I'll hit you!" Ayame turned away as his mother's hand was raised.
…End flashback…
Ayame gasped softly and ran into the room, catching his mother's wrist. She spun around and glared at him.
"I hope," Ayame said smoothly, "You weren't planning on striking this minor." His mother pulled her arm away angrily and stormed out of the room.
Yuki stared wide-eyed at his brother.
"Yuki," Ayame said, turning nervous eyes on his brother. "It's not as big as the main house, but if you'd like you can stay at my apartment." Yuki just stared in silence.
"Yuki?"
"O…Okay…" He said quietly. Ayame started walking to the door.
"Lets go get your things." Ayame said, obviously trying to sound light hearted. He opened the door and watched Yuki pass him into the hallway. Yuki started walking to his old room where his luggage had been discarded, still waiting to be unpacked. He took to steps up the stairs and stopped, without looking at Ayame.
"Nii-san?"
"Yes?"
"Thank you."
End
Hm, not sure what to make of this one. My first attempt at an Aaya and Yuki brother type fic. I would very much appreciate any feedback you can give me, and even if you don't have any feedback, a review would be cherished.
