Chapter 3 The Truth
It's been five years since Sean was discovered in the cave and since these creatures also arrived when he was found.
Since then the world has changed drastically with these creatures making life easier in many ways.
Right now A ten year old Sean and a nine year old Korra were outside playing.
"Ok here I come." Sean said looking around before Kuriboh jumped on his head making him laugh before he spotted a little ruby tail.
Smirking Sean walked to it slowly.
"I see you Ruby." Sean said making her come out before Korra also came out grinning.
"Seeing and catching are two different things three eyes." Korra said running off.
"That nickname is getting so old." Sean said rushing after her with Kuriboh in tow.
Rushing through the Tribe Sean saw all sorts of creatures helping people out or just entertaining them.
Thats when he looked up seeing Ruby's tail.
"You know the downsides to having Ruby is her tail giving you away." Sean said making her groan as they appeared before glaring at Ruby who rubbed against her making her smile.
"Your lucky you're cute." Korra said jumping down.
"Kuriboh never gives me away." Sean said making her glare.
"At least I can bend." Korra said.
"What makes you think I care? I got a special connection with these guys." Sean said making her smirk.
"True. How do you have that kind of connection?" Korra asked.
"I don't know. Maybe just luck." Sean said.
However suddenly blue flames appeared making them jump back.
"Now what?" Sean asked before they heard insane laughter.
Looking up Sean was shocked seeing someone only Zuko told them about.
Azula.
"Well, Little Avatar. It took some doing but I've finally found you." Azula said as Sean got in front of her.
"What do you want Lunatic?" Sean asked making her glare.
"She's gonna help me restart the hundred year war peasant. Now Die!" Azula yelled blasting him but they jumped out of the way. "You won't escape me Avatar! Your gonna be my ultimate weapon to make sure the Fira Nation rules everyone!" Azula yelled chasing them.
Running away from Azula they ran into a dead end.
"Uh oh." They said as she was in front of them.
"Now you're mine! As for you peasant I'll..." Azula tried to say before Sean's puzzle started to glow.
"Uh what is that thing doing?" Korra asked before Azula was engulfed in purple smoke making her yell as she tried to get it off but it suddenly started engulfing her.
Thats when Tonraq, Zuko and the White Lotus showed up.
"What in the name of..." Tonraq tried to say.
"AHHHHH!" Azula screamed as she suddenly vanished.
"Whoa." Sean said holding his puzzle. "I need a manual for this thing." Sean said making Korra nod.
Later
"She just came out of nowhere and tried to kidnap me to use me to conquer the world like her father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather tried to do." Korra said.
"And then this thing just turned on and did...Whatever it did to her." Sean said.
"How did that happen anyway?" Korra asked her parents making them look at each other.
"Maybe it sensed you two were in danger and sent her somewhere." Tonraq said.
"Yeah like where?" Sean asked.
"I don't know. Theres not a lot known about this thing other than my brother knowing but I don't want him anywhere near you two after the last stunt he pulled." Tonraq said.
"So what do I do with it?" Sean asked.
"For now nothing. I'll talk about this with Tenzin later." Tonraq said as they left.
"I should have known my sister would pull something like this." Zuko said rubbing his forehead.
"But the main question is what did the puzzle do to her?" Tonraq asked.
Sean and Korra walked around before Korra looked at the cave Sean was found in.
"What is it?" Sean asked as she grinned.
"Lets go in the cave." Korra said.
"Uh uh. You know your dad and Senna said never to go in there." Sean said.
"Come on. Aren't you the least bit curious on whats in there? just a little?" Korra asked making him sigh.
"Well...I suppose it wouldn't hurt." Sean said before they rushed to it.
Walking inside they noticed the carvings on the walls.
"Wow." Korra said looking at one. "Hey don't these look like those things?" Korra asked noticing one looked like Ruby.
"Yeah. But..." Sean tried to say seeing one looking like Kuriboh.
"What is it?" Korra asked.
"I don't know...This place feels familiar to me." Sean said as they walked further in before arriving in the room where Tonraq and the others found him in making Sean look around feeling a strange feeling.
"Hey." Korra said looking up seeing the three carvings up above them making Sean narrow his eyes before looking at the coffin which he got closer to. "Whats wrong?" Korra asked.
"I've been in here before." Sean said.
"When?" Korra asked.
"The answer to that is obvious." Tonraq said surprising them. "Ok enough secrets. You deserve to know the truth." Tonraq said sitting down.
"What truth?" Sean asked.
"We told you shortly after you woke up that we found you somewhere shortly after we found out Korra was the Avatar. Thats not exactly true. When the White Lotus showed up to see confirmation this cave opened up. Me, Senna, Tenzin and the White Lotus came in here a couple days later. And we found you incased in ice before you were set free." Tonraq said shocking him.
"I was in here?" Sean asked.
"Yeah. And as soon as you were set free...These creatures showed up immediately. Like Kuriboh and Ruby." Tonraq said.
"Why didn't you ever say anything?" Korra asked.
"You both were too young at the time to understand. For five years we looked to see if you had some special power like Korra but nothing happened until today. I don't think the Puzzle activated on its own. I think you may have done something without knowing it. And we noticed you have this special connection with these things. We searched everywhere for some information but nothing ever came up. The only person who does know something is my brother." Tonraq said.
"How does that jerk know anything?" Sean asked having a major dislike for him after the first time they met when he tried to force him to leave to the Northern Water Tribe.
"I don't know but he's always known certain things. Like the Puzzle for example. The Millennium puzzle as he calls it is one of seven Items. The Puzzle is the strongest." Tonraq said.
"And the others?" Sean asked.
"The others to my knowledge are known as the Eye, Key, Necklace, Scale, Rod and Ring. But this is the only one I've seen." Sean said.
"What about those?" Sean asked pointing to the Carvings up top.
"We haven't seen any that look like them. I think these three in particular are stronger than the others. But we haven't seen them...Yet. We've noticed over the years more stronger ones seem to show up. Look I know this is a lot to take in but I don't want you two digging into something your not ready to find or see." Tonraq said.
Later
Sean sat down looking at the ocean holding his puzzle.
So many questions ran through his mind after being told the truth about his past.
The main thing he wanted to know was how long he had been in there and why all this was happening.
For five years he enjoyed the life he had with Korra and her family.
Of course certain members of the White Lotus kept trying to force them apart since they didn't know how to handle him out of fear of the unknown.
Sighing Sean looked at the sea before Kuriboh jumped down on him making him chuckle holding him.
"Well, I'm sure you have more answers about me." Sean said.
"He's not the only one." Unalaq said behind him making him widen his eyes before jumping up and faced him.
"Get away from me you jerk!" Sean yelled.
"Calm down. I only wish to talk." Unalaq said.
"Well, I don't want to talk to you. I haven't forgotten the beating I got from your men." Sean said.
"They did that against my orders. My orders were for you to be unharmed but they didn't listen. With all your squirming you irritated them into that act." Unalaq said.
"Whatever I don't care. I want you to leave me alone. Now beat it." Sean said walking away.
"So you don't want to know what you are?" Unalaq asked making him stop which caused him to smirk. "I know more about you than anyone on Earth. I know what you are. I know where you came from...And More importantly I know why you have such a powerful connection to the ancients." Unalaq said.
"Ancients?" Sean asked.
"What did you think they were called? Monsters?" Unalaq asked.
"And how do you know so much about all this?" Sean asked.
"When you're as enlightened as I am you have powerful friends in the spirit world. Wang Shi Tong." Unalaq said.
"I know who your talking about. That owl who knows ten thousand things and what not. Then tell me." Sean said.
"Oh no my information comes with price." Unalaq said making him glare.
"Why am I not surprised. And you wonder why I hate you so much." Sean said.
"Tonraq's misguided nature makes you that way." Unalaq said.
"DON'T pin your actions on him. You tried to force me away against my will to somewhere I didn't want to go. Why would I when your kids hate my guts for their own selfish reasons." Sean said making him frown.
A few years back he had arrived for one of the festivals he was required to attend. And his children had mocked and insulted him at every turn because they didn't know him which made him angry seeing he had another reason not to come to the North.
"I apologize for that but..." Unalaq tried to say.
"Save it. I don't care. This is my home. With people I care about and vice versa. Why would I got someplace I would be miserable?" Sean asked making him frown knowing he couldn't answer that.
Thats when they heard a dark laughter.
"Now what have you done?" Sean asked.
"Thats not my doing." Unalaq said before someone appeared.
He had tan skin long white spiky hair and grey eyes with a scar on his right eye.
"Well, what do we have here? I was wondering when I would find you!"
"Who are you?" Unalaq asked.
"My name is Bakura. And I know what that boy is. When he was set free I was awakened from slumber. I searched for the last five years for him. Now stand aside!" Bakura yelled before Unalaq had water around him.
"I don't think so." Unalaq said making him laugh.
"You don't know who your dealing with little worm. I..." Bakura tried to say before he got a better look at Sean and widened his eyes. "Wait...I remember you." Bakura said.
"Do I know you?" Sean asked making him frown.
'Hmm. Last time we met he was only a four year old. And yet he doesn't recognize me. Could it be she erased his memories or him for that matter? No matter. He's finally in my grasp.' Bakura thought.
"No matter your mine!" Bakura yelled before something appeared behind him.
It turned out to be a monster with a snake like tail hissing at him.
"What the?" Sean said in shock.
Thats when Tonraq and the others arrived.
"What did you do now Unalaq!" Tonraq yelled.
"I didn't do anything. I don't know who that is." Unalaq said.
"As I said I am Bakura and I have waited over a Million years to finally remove the last Guardian. And nothing will stand in my way." Bakura said laughing.
(Insert Egyptian God Theme)
In the Cave one of the Carvings above where Sean was found began to glow before a bright light appeared.
Just as Bakura was about to attack a bright light appeared behind Sean before a loud roar was heard.
"No! It can't be!" Bakura yelled in disbelief before a Large Ancient that had blue skin large muscles and wings and red eyes was seen roaring at Bakura.
"Whoa!" Sean yelled in shock seeing this massive beast who roared at Bakura.
"One of the strongest Ancient Gods. Obelisk the Tormentor!" Bakura yelled.
Thats when one of Obelisk's fists glowed before punching Bakura's monster making it shatter.
"NO! My Diabound!" Bakura yelled before glaring at Obelisk who roared before sending a wave of power scattering everyone.
"Ow." Sean said holding his head before seeing Obelisk's fist glow again.
"Tonraq!" Senna yelled as she and Korra rushed to them.
"Stay back!" Tonraq yelled as Obelisk's fist came right back down...Right where Sean was making him yell as he was smashed shocking everyone to the core.
Korra was the most shocked seeing her best friend flattened.
"Sean?" Korra asked rushing to where he was.
"Korra wait!" Senna yelled as she rushed after her.
The only thing Korra found was a hole with blood at the bottom.
"No." Korra sobbed as Senna rushed to her and held her as she cried into her chest while Obelisk roared before vanishing.
(End Song)
Bakura growled before vanishing.
Unalaq rushed to the spot where Sean was last seen before seeing the blood.
"No." Unalaq said before Tonraq grabbed him.
"What did you do!" Tonraq roared.
"Nothing I swear! I don't know why Obelisk did that." Unalaq said.
"NO MORE GAMES! WHAT IS GOING ON!" Tonraq yelled.
"I can't tell you. It doesn't matter anyway he's gone." Unalaq said making him glare before dropping him.
"Never come back. Ever." Tonraq said making him sigh as he left while Tonraq walked to his daughter who cried before holding her close.
Meanwhile
In some unknown place Sean was still alive on someone's lap as his hair was stroked.
"It's ok. You're safe now."
Authors Note: Not really much to say other than asking Where is Sean right now? Why did Obelisk fake an attack on him? Who's he with right now? Where did Azula go?
