Chapter 4 Home of the Ancients

Sean slowly began to wake up with a groan before gasping rembering what happened before looking around seeing he was in some room.

"What the?" Sean asked.

"Finally awake."

Sean turned seeing some woman with white skin long blonde hair and green eyes smiling at him.

For some reason Sean felt as if he already knew who she was.

"Who...Are you?" Sean asked making her giggle.

"I know it's been a few years but the very least you'd be able to recognize your mother."

Sean widened his eyes.

"What?" Sean asked before she walked to him with a smile.

"Maybe this will help."

She touched his forehead before it glowed making him groan before looking at her.

"Mom?" Sean asked making her smile holding him close.

"I missed you so much." Mana said.

Later

Sean and his mother known to the Ancients as the Dark Magician Girl while Sean knew her as Mana.

"How come I didn't remember you till now?" Sean asked.

"Your father and I had to block some of your memories until the time was right. For your protection so you didn't reveal things that the world isn't ready to know." Mana said as they walked around some palace.

"Why exactly was I placed on Ice?" Sean asked.

"Well...Thats complicated and simple in some views. The main reason was to hide you away from Bakura." Mana said.

"You mean the guy with white hair and a scar on his right eye?" Sean asked.

"Yes. He's the greatest enemy of the Guardians." Mana said.

"Guardians?" Sean asked.

"Its what you are. You see you're much like Korra. As she's bridge between the physical and Spirit world your something similar. However unlike her your responsibility is much greater." Mana said.

"How?" Sean asked.

"You act as a living gateway for the Ancients to return to Earth. Inside you are special seals that allow you act as a gateway so we can return to Earth." Mana said.

"Why didn't you just make a portal?" Sean asked.

"Those existed before the Guardians. We destroyed the gateways. To prevent something from following from trying to corrupt us. The very being Bakura follows willingly." Mana said.

"Who?" Sean asked.

"They call him Zorc. The creator of the Shadow Realm. The very place you sent Azula." Mana said.

"The Shadow realm?" Sean asked.

"It's a place devoid of light full of lost souls. We sent the very worst of mankind there when they stepped over the line. Murder and such. Zorc is a being of pure darkness. Lives only to conquer and destroy. And he nearly did before once. Fortunately your father managed to summon the three most powerful Ancients. Obelisk, Slifer and Ra. He caught him by surprise and defeated him sending him back to his realm." Mana said.

"And my father?" Sean asked.

"Atem used what was left of his power to seal Zorc away and placed you in the cave. It was for your own safety to keep you safe since not only are you a guardian...Your also something else." Mana said.

"What does that mean?" Sean asked.

"Your only half Human. The rest of you is Ancient." Mana said surprising him.

"Because of you?" Sean asked.

"Yes and No. You see the Guardians were rewarded for their services in death by fully becoming an Ancient. Humans all hold an ancient inside them. And when they die that Ancient comes here. It's why the Gods created mankind. When they are born and die a new Ancient is born. When that human dies they both go to either here or the heavens." Mana said.

"So where do you fit into this?" Sean asked.

"Well...When I died I had no idea I was pregnant with you. When I fully became what I am now I was still pregnant with you. This shocked all the ancients especially your father. And when you were born you were both Human and Ancient. Thats why you have such a strong connection with the Ancients. Like Kuriboh." Mana said as said ancient jumped on him making him laugh.

"Hey buddy." Sean said making Mana giggle.

"Even after a million years apart you two still have a strong bond." Mana said.

"Wait what?" Sean asked.

"You were in that cave for a million years. The Cave would only open up if it sensed you would be safe. And you were with Korra and her family." Mana said.

"Oh I get it. Speaking of whom when am I going back?" Sean asked.

"Not for a while. Theres another reason we brought you here. You were in great danger." Mana said.

"From who? Bakura? Or Unalaq?" Sean asked.

"Bakura we could have handled alone. Unalaq's plans for you however I don't find necessary nor do I want you to be trained by him since he's selfish. No the real threat was the White Lotus." Mana said.

"Huh?" Sean asked. "How are they a threat? I know some of them could be jerks but..." Sean tried to say.

"Those some who feared you for not knowing what you are were going to plan to kill you." Mana said shocking him.

"Huh? Why?" Sean asked.

"Because they fear what they don't understand. In their minds they view you as a threat that needs to be eliminated. And If I sent you back now they'd just try again and make up an excuse on what happened to you. So for now you'll remain here and train in your abilities for a year until you're ready to go back." Mana said making him sigh. "I know you don't want to leave them so suddenly but it's for your own good." Mana said.

"All right. What do you want me to do?" Sean asked.

Later

Sean and Mana walked through the streets seeing various Ancients around.

"So...If everyone has an Ancient inside them does that include me and Korra?" Sean asked.

"Yes. Both of you hold god level Ancients inside you." Mana said.

"God Level?" Sean asked.

"There are four levels of Ancients that exist. The first are the low level ones like Kuriboh. The second are middle level Ancients that are more ready for combat. Like the ones who stopped Unalaq from taking you by force when he found out what you are." Mana said not mentioning Zaheer and his allies.

"And the next?" Sean asked.

"Those are high level ones like myself. We make the rules and plans for the Mortal world. And then there are God Level Ancients. You've already met one." Mana said.

"Obelisk?" Sean asked.

"One of the top three of the Ancients. Although technically theres a fourth on that list since his power rivals them as well. But he'll listen to you?" Mana said.

"Hmm?" Sean asked making her smile.

"I think it's time you two had a reunion after so long." Mana said confusing him before they walked off.

Soon they arrived outside the palace seeing a large assortment of Ancients.

"Wow." Sean said amazed making her giggle.

"I'm willing to bet a lot are gonna recognize you after all these years. But for now an old friend will want to see you." Mana said as they walked off.

Walking to a mountain however they found a large being on some throne with his eyes closed.

He had chains on his legs and hands and a cobra on his head and about the same size as Obelisk.

"Wow." Sean said before his eyes opened up looking at him.

"Well, well. It has been a long time my old friend."

"Sorry do I know you? My memory is not what is used to be." Sean said making him chuckle.

"No I expect it wouldn't for your own protection. I am known as Exodia. One of the strongest of the Ancients. And one who will come to your aid when you need me the most." Exodia said.

"Why me?" Sean asked.

"Because of what you are. You are the only one of your kind. Half human and Half ancient. Born with incredible abilities that will rival my own in centuries to come." Exodia said.

"How long do you all live for?" Sean asked making Mana giggle.

"Eternity. And so will you and those you care for. Thats the power of an Ancient." Mana said.

Later

"So all these things are cool and all but theres still a lot I'm not understanding." Sean said.

"Such as?" Mana asked.

"How did the war between Zorc and the Ancients start?" Sean asked.

"Thats complicated. It was an accident from what I understand since this took place several years before you were ever even born. The intentions of that act were not selfish entirely. Rather that someone was using a spell for a good cause...But misunderstood its meaning." Mana said.

"How can you misunderstand a spell?" Sean asked.

"It's not the first time its happened before Zorc tried to destroy everything in his path. This one was the worst of them all. In time I'll tell you exactly what happened. But understand that all this was never intended by who casted that spell." Mana said.

After all that Sean was in his bed fast asleep with Mana watching over him.

"He took all this far easier than I had anticipated."

Mana turned seeing her former mentor.

"Hello, Mahad." Mana said.

"You know eventually we're gonna have to tell him the full story of what happened." Mahad said.

"I know. What he did that day in the village. I know he never intended this but still he should have told us what he was doing since it was over the line." Mana said looking at her son who slept.

"Yes. I'll begin training him tomorrow and see exactly how we can handle his training." Mahad said.

Next day

Sean was in the palace library looking over some history of the guardians when he found something that was locked up.

"Open up you stupid book!" Sean yelled before losing his grip and fell on the floor making him glare at it while Mana giggled as she walked in.

"You know you could always say the magic word." Mana teased.

"And whats that?" Sean asked.

"Please." Mana said making him laugh before she waved her staff around before it opened up.

"Thank you." Sean said looking inside seeing several people. Most of them had a Millennium Item with them. "Who are they?" Sean asked making her smile.

"The Original Guardians. Seven of them held the Millennium Items during those years." Mana said.

"You included?" Sean asked making her shake her head.

"I was training to take my mentor's place as the holder of the Millennium Ring but I was killed and had you. His name was Mahad. The strongest magician of all time and the holder of the Millennium Ring. Others held other items. Seto held the Millennium Rod. Isis the Millennium Necklace. Shada held the Key. Karim held the Scale. Aknadin held the Eye. And your father Atem held the puzzle." Mana said.

"Why was it broken when I found it?" Sean asked.

"Incase someone did find the cave it was broken up. You knew how too build it because that information was transferred into your mind. Thats how you knew how to build it so fast." Mana said.

"Is there any other Items?" Sean asked.

"No not really. These are the only ones that were made together. Wield all seven and great power could be yours." Mana said.

"Not interested." Sean said making her smile.

"Oh I know. Thats not in your nature." Mana said.

Meanwhile

Bakura was out in the deserts of the Earth Kingdom eating an onion.

"Heh! Your mother may have saved you from me this time But mark my words. You will be at my mercy when you return and I'll finish what I began all those years ago and have my revenge." Bakura said.
