Chapter 6 Welcome to Republic City
Its been seven years since Sean returned back to the Mortal world and since the White Lotus was disbanded because of the Arrogance of some of their members who tarnished the name.
Since then the Ancients have been coming into the Mortal world solving almost every problem the world had.
And they even began to teach mankind Magic again to help make things easier.
Korra herself had also began to learn things none of her predecessors ever learned.
Mana had helped her unlock her airbending and even help mix magic into her bending abilities making her stronger than most Avatars have been at her current skill level.
And she also helped her learn to be patient and wiser to make sure she didn't rush into a situation making things worse.
Sean himself learned a great deal from his mother and other ancients as well.
Every few months Sean and Mana would travel to parts around the world to learn from other people and what not.
Sean even learned how to turn into Ancients that already existed. The current level of Ancients he could turn into were the high level ones. Any higher and he would become exhausted for a few hours.
Right now Sean was watching Korra train with Mahad with her final Airbending test.
Thats when she summoned wind dragons that roared loudly into the air making him smile.
"Very well done Korra." Mahad said making her grin before it vanished.
"Not bad." Sean said walking to her making her grin.
"Hey You weren't the only one who had good teachers." Korra said kissing him making him smirk.
Over the years the relationship between them had gotten stronger till they started dating last year.
Though both Senna and Mana constant teased them about grandkids much to their annoyance.
"I would say you have certainly passed your final Airbending test. Which means all you need to do is work on your spiritual connection. Tenzin will be here in a few days to train you in that. Then you'll be a fully realized Avatar." Mahad said before vanishing.
"Ok lets go." Sean said as they walked off.
Soon they arrived at the cliff looking at the ocean.
"You know it's funny." Korra said.
"Hmm? What is?" Sean asked curious.
"When we first met I only thought we would be very close friends. Look at us 13 years later." Korra said making him smirk.
"I think you'll find life works in strange and mysterious ways. We're living proof of that." Sean said making her smile as she held him close.
Days later
Sean and Korra watched as Tenzin's Bison Oogi arrived.
"You seem excited." Sean said making her grin.
"I'm finally about to finish my training. Then when Bakura shows up again we can take him down and find a way to seal Zorc away for good." Korra said making him chuckle.
"Don't make it sound easy. Guy has been around for a million years like me. He's not so easy to defeat since he created the Shadow realm." Sean said before Tenzin and his family came off before Sean and Korra chuckled seeing his son Meelo pulling his ears. (The way that he was pulling them made me feel sorry for Tenzin)
"Mother...Help me." Tenzin begged making her laugh as she picked up her grandson.
"UNHAND ME STRANGE WOMAN!" Meelo yelled.
"Thats your grandmother, Meelo." Tenzin said before Meelo jumped away.
Thats when he ran into Sean and Korra before Looking at Sean seeing the grey robes he wore and the hood that covered the top half of his face.
"Yes?" Sean asked.
"Are you a magician?" Meelo asked making them grin.
"That and much more." Sean said summoning Vorse Raider's weapon.
"Cool!" Meelo said making them laugh.
Thats when they spotted Tenzin's wife who was pregnant with a fourth child.
"Well at least the air nation is on its way to coming back." Sean said making Korra smile.
"I'm not helpless. Just Pregnant." Pema said before Katara placed her hand on her large stomach.
"The baby's strong. I sense another airbender in your future." Katara said making her sigh.
"All I want is one child like me, A nice, non-bender who doesn't blast wind in my face every five seconds." Pema said making Sean scoff in amusement.
"Oh sure like thats gonna happen when your husband is an Airbender and you're not a bender period." Sean said making Korra hold her mouth to hide her laughs.
"Mommy, look. I'm a snow bender!" Meelo said airbending the snow getting some on her making Sean chuckle before she shook it off.
"Were Tenzin and his siblings this crazy when they were kids?" Pema asked.
"Kya and Bumi certainly were. But Tenzin has always been rather serious." Katara said remembering his childhood.
"Mother, please." Tenzin said before looking behind her seeing Korra and Sean. "Korra?" Tenzin asked making her smile as she approached them. "Look at you. So big and strong. You've grown into quite the young Avatar. And It looks like you're becoming more and more powerful by the day Sean." Tenzin said.
"Oh if only you knew. I'd wager Korra could give Kyoshi a run for her money." Sean said making her grin.
"Master Tenzin, I'm so glad. you're here. I can't wait to get started." Korra said.
"Yes, well..." Tenzin trailed off.
"Your gonna have to tell her eventually." Pema said.
"Tell me what?" Korra asked.
"Something wrong?" Sean asked.
"You're not staying are you?" Katara asked.
"I'm afraid not. We're only staying for the night. Then I have to return to Republic city." Tenzin said.
"But, no, You're supposed to move here. You're supposed to teach me." Korra said.
"I'm sorry, Korra. You're Spiritual training is going to have to wait." Tenzin said.
Later
Everyone was in Katara's home going over the subject.
"Why come here if your not gonna teach me? I don't get it." Korra said.
"I thought I could make time but...Things are not exactly fully stable back in Republic City." Tenzin said.
"I thought when the Ancients returned Crime was down to near nonexistent." Sean said making Korra think the same thing.
"It is. Crime with them around is almost a none occurrence. Thats not the issue. The issue is the nonbenders of Republic City are well...They feel like they have no rights because of Benders getting special treatment while they are less fortunate." Tenzin said.
"Meaning?" Korra asked.
"He means members of the council aren't being fair to those who can't bend." Mahad said.
"I'm afraid he's right. I've tried to get them to see that we were being unfair but one of the council members doesn't seem to care." Tenzin said.
"And thats why you can't stay here?" Sean asked.
"Yes." Tenzin said.
"So...Why not take us with you? This way you can train me and still do your job." Korra said.
"Normally I would say yes but theres...Also another problem and I don't want you getting involved just yet." Tenzin said.
"A problem in general or with a person?" Sean asked sensing his unease.
"The second." Tenzin said.
After all that Tenzin and his family left.
But Korra deciding she wasn't gonna stay got Sean to help her get Naga.
"You know he's not gonna like this." Sean said as she got Naga'a riding gear while Ruby got on top of her.
"I know and the wise thing to do would be to listen to him. But I'm not gonna be a good Avatar if I can't finish my training." Korra said.
"True enough." Sean said.
"Nice night for an escape, isn't it?" Katara asked making Korra freeze before they turned seeing a smiling Katara.
"I have to leave. I can't be a good Avatar if I stay here all my life." Korra said making her nod.
"I know." Katara said making her smile. "Aang's time has passed. My brother and many of my friends are gone. It's time for you and your generation to take on the responsibility of facing the new threats of this age. And I think you're gonna be a great Avatar." Katara said before hugging Korra.
"Thank you." Korra said making Sean smile.
"Good-bye, Korra." Katara said.
Soon the two got outside before they went to Korra's parents telling them they were leaving.
"Mom, Dad, I'll miss you." Korra said.
"We love you two so much." Senna said hugging them.
"Don't worry we'll be back soon enough. Plus." Sean said tossing her a green stone. "You can use that to visit us." Sean said making them smile before they left.
The two were on a ship heading to Republic City.
"Check it out." Sean said making her look seeing several Water Ancients before one known as the Legendary Fisherman jumped out making them smile.
Next Morning
Sean and Korra were asleep on Naga.
Thats when the doors opened up and Sean groaned as he stretched.
"Get up. We're here." Sean said making Korra grin before they got on Naga before rushing out past some workers.
"Thanks for the Ride!" Korra thanked.
"You do realize that makes us look more like stowaways right?" Sean asked making her laugh as Naga rushed around before they got a look at the city.
"Wow look at this place." Korra said seeing it looking so peaceful before they saw a statue of Aang before Korra looked around and grinned. "I wonder if your dad would ever get a swelled head." Korra said.
"The fuck is that supposed to mean?" Sean asked as she pointed seeing his father with his own statue.
Also there were statues of the three top Ancient Gods. Obelisk, Slifer and Ra.
And there was even one with Exodia making him smirk before they spotted Airtemple island.
"Thats where Tenzin lives. You ready for a little swim, girl?" Korra asked Naga before she sniffed the air and bolted. "Okay, okay! Food first, than Air temple...WATCH IT, NAGA! LOOK OUT!" Korra yelled as they ran past some cars before into a crowd of people.
"Uh I just realized we didn't bring any money." Sean said making Korra stop.
"Oh crap. I'm not gonna use magic to make it since thats low." Korra said before seeing a park with a pond making her grin. "There." Korra said as Naga went in.
Soon Korra had three fish for her and Sean while Naga got her own food.
"One of the perks of having the Avatar as your girlfriend." Korra said making him chuckle holding her close as she cooked they're fish.
"You know I never once cared about your status once we started dating." Sean said making her grin.
Thats however when someone appeared from the bushes making them blink.
"Uh can we help you?" Korra asked.
"Say mind if I get one of them fishies?"
"Knock yourself out." Korra said as he took one and ate it. "You don't live in that bush do you?" Korra asked.
"Yes. That is what I presently call home."
"I thought the Ancients helped people get real homes." Korra said.
"They try but some council members won't allow it if you're a non bender."
"I'm starting to see more and more why Tenzin had to stay here." Sean said before a whistle was heard making them look seeing an officer.
"STOP! YOU CAN'T FISH HERE!"
"And we're out!" Korra yelled as they got on Naga before she ran off.
"Well I should have seen that bullshit coming. You can't fish here." Sean said mockingly making Korra giggle. "If an ancient did that he wouldn't say shit." Sean said before they came to some kind of protest.
"Are you tired. of living under the tyranny of benders? Then join the Equalists. For too long, the bending elite of this city have forced non-benders to live as lower-class citizens. Join Amon, and together we will tear down the bending establishment and let the Ancients rightfully take control."
"Oh come on you can't seriously tell me you think all Benders are like that." Sean said.
"Let me guess? You're a bender?"
"No but she is." Sean said.
"Oh sure put the attention on your girlfriend." Korra said amused making him chuckle as Kuriboh squeaked.
"I'd bet you'd just love to knock me off with some waterbending huh?" The guy challenged.
"No." Korra said shocking him. "I was taught not to misuse my powers by the Ancients, asshole. You're just doing this for attention cause you were clearly deprived of it as a child." Korra said. (Which he is)
Everyone began to think the same before leaving.
"NO WAIT! STOP! DON'T LEAVE!" The manchild yelled pathetically.
"What a waste of flesh." Sean said as they walked off.
Soon they were back in the City.
"And we're lost. Can't you just turn into a dragon and fly us out?" Korra asked.
"I could but..." Sean tried to say before they spotted some thugs trying to break down a shopkeeper for money.
"Give us the money or else..."
Only for a purple smoke to engulf them.
"Or else what? Do say it. I'd love to send you to the shadow realm where you belong." Sean said making them scream in fear before Korra knocked them out using Airbending before earthbending their hands together.
"That was easy." Korra said before metal wires were wrapped around them making them look seeing the police.
"You both are under arrest."
"Huh? For what? Stopping them?" Sean asked.
"Chief Beifong's orders."
"Oh great. I guess I'm gonna be meeting Suyin's hardass Sister." Sean said to himself.
Later
Sean sighed as his hands were cuffed to the table.
"What is this about?" Sean asked Lin as she glared at him.
"Keep your mouth shut." Lin said as one of her officer's walked in.
"Here are the execution orders Chief."
"Who the hell are you executing?" Sean asked.
"You." Lin said shocking him.
"Fucking excuse me?" Sean asked.
"You heard me. When you die these things will go away and things will be back to the way they used to be." Lin said signing them.
"You mean full of crime and corruption?" Sean asked before she metalbended him down hard.
"Things were better in my view before these things showed up. I don't care what Tenzin says. These things need to go away." Lin said before Sean freed himself which shocked her before dashing at her pinning her to the wall as a blade was at her neck.
"Now I see why Tenzin didn't want us here. It was because of you. You're a self centered bitch. Unlike your sister." Sean said shocking her.
"Lin." Tenzin said making his presence known frowning at her before taking the execution papers and tore them up. "This is your last warning. Another attempt at this...And you will be suspended indefinitely." Tenzin said making her glare before groaning as Sean punched her down.
"Dumb bitch." Sean said kicking her making her grunt as they walked out.
Korra waited patiently before Sean and Tenzin came out before she rushed to him.
"You ok?" Korra asked.
"No. I found out why Tenzin didn't want us here. Lin wants me dead so the Ancients will vanish. She's a selfish self centered bitch." Sean said making her look at Tenzin who sighed.
"Lin has a negative view of the ancients because they get something that she tried to get from her mother but to no avail. Respect and Admiration. The Ancients have made Crime near nonexistent since Sean came back. I've tried to tell her they make things better but her anger keeps her from seeing it." Tenzin said.
"You should have told us right from the beginning." Sean said.
"Now you see why I didn't want you here. I don't want to take chances she might try to pull something. And thats why you need to leave." Tenzin said.
"Look you can't just send us back home. Katara agreed we needed to come here." Korra said.
"DON'T BRING MY MOTHER INTO THIS!" Tenzin yelled annoyed with a red face. (Oy)
"Look. We can't stay in the South anymore. We're not gonna stop Bakura and Zorc if we just stay in one location." Korra said making him sigh before an officer came out with Naga.
"Is this your polar bear dog miss?" A man asked before she licked him and his hair stood up making Sean chuckled while Korra laughed. (I feel bad for the guy)
The group was on a ferry heading to Air temple island while Tenzin looked at the Statue of his father before looking at Atem's statue making him sigh before looking at the couple as Sean held her close.
Arriving at the docks a few warrior type Ancients were waiting for them making Korra sigh as they were about to get on.
Only for Tenzin's kids to fly down making them stop.
"Korra!" They yelled before hugging her making her smile.
"Are you staying on the island with us?" Ikki asked.
"No. I'm sorry, Ikki. We have to go." Korra said.
"Aw." Ikki said before they walked to the boat.
"Wait." Tenzin said stopping them. "I've tried my best to guide Republic City to the dream my father had for it. And it is almost there with the help of the Ancients. But you are right. Eventually both of you are going to have to face dark forces far greater than Any Avatar ever has. You both can stay on the island to train." Tenzin said making Korra smile.
"YES! Thank you! Your the best!" Korra said hugging him and his kids picking them up making Sean chuckle as Kuriboh squeaked.
"Things are going to get interesting buddy." Sean said as Ruby climbed to his shoulder.
Later
Sean was getting his room set up before smirking as he turned before kicking Korra's legs out making her fall into his arms as she laughed.
"You seriously need to work on stealth." Sean said making her smile as she kissed him.
"I'll work on that later." Korra said as he held her close. "Now we just gotta deal with Lin and keep an eye on her from pulling something." Korra said.
"Yup." Sean said.
Meanwhile
Within a secret location a group of people were listening to the radio about Sean and Korra arriving in the city.
"Amon. How do you wanna handle this?"
In the room was a man with a mask looking at a map of Republic City.
"So the Avatar and the one's who's half human and Half Ancient have arrived in Republic City. We may need to change our plans." Amon said.
Authors note: And with that Season 1 begins and believe me I have some royal special plans in store. And next Chapter we meet the brothers and some other ancients as well.
