Chapter 8 The Revelation
It's been a few days since Korra started her training with Tenzin and since she became a member of the Fire Ferrets since their Water bending teammate bailed on them.
Sean actually tracked him down and found out he was paid off to not continue the games which pissed Mako off a lot. (You know you don't see him again till the very last episode at Varrick's wedding)
Right now Sean was watching Korra practice with her team while he leaning against the wall.
"Whats the big idea with making me train this early in the morning? The morning is Evil." Korra said making Sean snort.
"Oh yeah right! I seem to recall a certain Avatar waking me up early in the morning to play in the snow." Sean said making her giggle.
"We're the rookies. So we get the worst time in the Gym." Bolin said.
"And you're the rookiest of us all. We gotta get you up to speed if we want to survive in the tournament. Deal with it." Mako said tossing her another ball making her grunt.
"You deal with it!" Korra said throwing it back harder making him grunt as he landed on his back.
"Score!" Yellow cheered.
"Be lucky she was holding back." Green said.
"Or else he would have ended up in the hospital." Black said.
"Oh my god, please shut up." Sean said making Korra giggle as Ruby appeared on her shoulder before some man walked in.
"There are my little hardworking street urchins." He said walking to them. "An honor to finally meet you Avatar and Lord Kruger."
"And just who are you?" Sean asked.
"Butakha. I run this whole pro bending Shebang." Butakha said before Sean and Korra walked away before he walked to Make handing him a large wad of cash to him. "Heres your winnings from the last match." Butakha said making him grin about to take it. "Ah, ah, ah. But not so fast. First you owe me for the Avatar's new gear, and gym and equipment rentals for last month." Butakha said taking some of his money back.
"Oh for the love of the Ancient Gods." Sean said annoyed.
"Rent on your Apartment, and a personal loan for groceries." Butakha said taking it all making him glare at Bolin.
"What? I'm a growing boy!" Bolin said making Sean and Korra chuckle in amusement.
"He could have just said he was gonna keep it all to pay for what they owed instead of handing it to them and take it away." Korra said.
"He's always like that." Green said.
"Oh, and one more small item of business. The Fire Ferrets need to Ante up 30,000 Yuans for the championship pot." Butakha said shocking all of them.
"WHAT!" The Ojama brothers yelled.
"30,000 Yuans!" Bolin yelled.
"Sorry, kids. You've got till the end of the week to come up with the money or else you're out off the tournament." He said before leaving just as Korra and Sean approached the two.
"You two wouldn't happen to have a secret bank account overflowing with gold would you?" Bolin asked making Korra pull out her pockets showing they were empty.
"I got nothing." Korra said.
"Can't you two just use magic to make money?" Mako asked.
"That is low and a major misuse of magic. If everyone did that everyone would be rich and nothing would ever get done because no one is working for a living." Sean said.
"He's got a point." Bolin said.
"We're just gonna have to find an alternative way to make the money." Sean said as he and Korra left.
"Well this sucks. How are we gonna come up with the money?" Korra asked.
"I know. But who knows. Maybe you'll find a way to get into the tournament without paying. Anything can happen." Sean said as they left.
Later
After practice was over Sean watched as Korra was doing the airbending training again with Ikki and Jinora before she came out untouched like always.
"It always amazes me you have come so far in seven short years." Sean said making her grin.
Thats when they spotted Mako walking to them.
"Ooh, he's cute." Jinora said.
"Oh come the fuck on. You can't be fucking serious?" Sean asked making her giggle.
"Is that the firebender boy who drives you Crazy Korra?" Jinora asked.
"Does he drive you crazy in a bad way? Or does he drive you crazy like you like him?" Ikki teased.
"The first." Korra said waterbending them away making them scream. "Hey Mako." Korra said.
"You guys seen Bolin or the Ojama brothers?" Mako asked.
"No. And I don't care about the last three since they annoy me. Why think something happened?" Sean asked.
"I don't know. Bolin has a knack for getting into real dumb situations. See ya around." Mako said leaving.
"Hold up." Sean said stopping him. "If he's in a situation we best look for him together. We can take Naga and Silver Fang." Sean said.
"Who's Naga since I already know Silver Fang." Mako said.
"Our best friend and a great tracker." Korra said.
Later
Korra, Sean and Mako were on Naga while Silver Fang was next to her sniffing the air.
"Your best friend is a...Polar bear dog. Somehow that makes perfect sense." Mako said making Korra smirk.
"I'll take that as a compliment City boy." Korra said.
The three arrived at Central City station.
"Well, this is his usual hangout." Mako said as they got off.
Seeing a few kids playing Mako approached one.
"You guys see my brother around here today?" Mako asked.
"Perhaps...My memory's a little...Foggy."
Sean's eyes rolled at this.
"You have got to be fucking kidding me! It's like the whole place is greedy." Sean said making Korra giggle.
"Your good, Skoochy. A real pro." Mako said handing him some change.
"Yeah, I've seen him." Skoochy said.
"When?" Mako asked.
"About Noon." Skoochy said.
"The hell was he doing?" Sean asked.
"He was performing. some kind of monkey-rat circus." Skoochy said.
"I'm not even gonna ask." Mako said.
"And then..." Skoochy trailed off holding his hand out making Mako sigh before paying him again.
"And then what? Why'd he leave?" Mako asked.
"Shady Shin showed up and flashed some serious cash. Bo took off with him in his hot rod. The Triple Threats, the Red Monsoons, The Agni Kai's. All the Triads are muscling up for something real big. Something to do with the Ancients. Now that's all you're getting out of me." Skoochy said running off.
"What's he talking about?" Korra asked concerned.
"Sounds like the Triad are gearing up for war against the ancients, And Bolin's about to get caught right in the middle of it." Mako said before they got back on Naga and ran off.
"So where are we headed?" Korra asked.
"The Triple threat triad's headquarters. Hopefully Bolin's there and nothing's gone down yet." Mako said.
"Triple Threat Triads? We took down three of those guys when we showed up. Why would Bolin..." Korra tried to ask.
"AHHH!" Yellow screamed running into Sean's face.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" Sean roared pulling him off as Pabu and the other Ojamas came on Naga.
"Bolin's been captured!" Yellow said.
"By one of the other Gangs?" Mako asked.
"No! Some scary looking guys with masks on." Yellow said making them confused.
Arriving at the place they noticed it was quiet before Sean opened the door as they went in.
"Whatever happened here is over. What exactly happened?" Mako asked.
"Bolin was guarding the door and these scary guys with masks on showed up." Yellow said.
"Fire benders, Water Benders and Earth Benders?" Korra asked.
"No. None of them were bending." Green said.
"They used their hands and knocked them out and took their bending away." Black said.
"Sounds to me like Chi blockers showed up. But why? Who are they working for?" Sean asked.
"Sounds like Amon's henchmen." Mako said.
"Amon? You mean that guy with the mask? We heard about him from some protestor when we first got here. Some kind of Anti-bending leader?" Korra asked.
"Yeah, he's the leader of the equalists." Mako said.
"What do they want with the Triple threats?" Korra asked.
"Whatever it is I can only assume the worst." Sean said.
"I can't believe Bolin got himself into this mess." Mako said.
"Don't worry we'll find him." Korra said.
"But where? We don't know where they took him." Green said.
"Oh but I think I know someone who does." Sean said grinning.
Later
Sean, Korra and Mako were at the park waiting for the protestor to show up again.
However all three of them fell asleep with Korra resting against Sean who had his arms around her.
"EQUALITY NOW! EQUALITY NOW!" The manchild yelled.
Sean woke up with a yawn before Korra woke up and smirked at him.
"Morning." Korra said kissing him.
"Hate to break up the lovers moment but is that the guy you two were talking about?" Mako asked as they looked.
"Yup. Thats him. Still as pathetic as ever." Sean said as they approached him.
"It's time for the..." The man child trailed off seeing the two. "It's you two again. You cannot silence me Avatar!" The man child yelled.
"Wow. You're still acting like a man child desperate for attention. It's people like you who annoy me and the Ancients the most. A grown man begging for attention instead of getting a life." Sean said.
Everyone around saw this and decided to leave.
"NO! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME!" The Manchild cried.
"Your pathetic." Sean said before grabbing him making him yelp. "Now fucking listen to me and you won't end up in the Shadow realm." Sean said making him nod quickly. "A friend of ours got taken by some Chi Blockers. Where the fuck is he?" Sean asked.
"I don't know! I swear. I just pass out the fliers." The Manchild said before Yellow took one.
"Whats it say? I can't read very good." Yellow said.
"Don't ask my I left My Monocle back home." Green said.
"It says witness the revelation tonight at 9:00." Black said.
"The fuck is this revelation?" Sean asked.
"I don't know. No one does only Amon does." The Manchild said before Sean spins around like crazy making him scream before Sean let go making him scream as he actually flew out of the city into the ocean just outside of it.
"HOME RUN!" Yellow yelled.
"Oy." Sean said making Korra giggle as they took some of the fliers and walked off.
Arriving at a stop they looked at the fliers.
"Why didn't they put a location on these things?" Korra asked.
"Obviously so not just anyone can come to this revelation. Whatever the hell that is. Look at the images on the back." Sean said seeing four images with one red dot on one.
"So...It's a puzzle?" Korra asked.
"Of a map." Sean said putting them together before placing them on a map of Republic City and found the location.
"DING DING! We have a winner!" Black yelled.
"Oh fuck." Sean said annoyed making Korra giggle.
Later
"MMM! I fucking hate these clothes." Sean said in more regular clothes.
"Mmm. I think they look good on you." Korra said.
"Shut up." Sean said as they approached the bouncer.
"This is a Private event. No one gets in without an invitation."
"You mean this?" Sean asked handing him a flyer making him grin.
"The Revelation is upon us, my brothers and sister."
Entering inside they were surprising by the amount of people here.
"I know people hate benders before the Ancients showed up but I never realized it was this many." Mako said.
"Past deeds that the Triads and other gangs caused will make people hate a common enemy. Now lets find out what this is about and find Bolin." Sean said as they were in the stands.
"Please welcome your hero, your savior, Amon!"
The Crowd cheered as Amon and his followers appeared on the stage.
"My quest for Equality began many years ago. When I was a boy, my family and I lived on a farm. We weren't rich, and none of us were benders. This made us very easy targets for the firbender who extorted my father. One day, My father confronted this man, But when he did that firebender took my family from me then he took my face. I've been forced to hide behind a mask ever since." Amon said.
"Now why does that sound familiar." Sean said.
"As all of you may know the only person who's half Human and Half Ancient has arrived in Republic City." Amon said making people cheer. "Ever since he was found in that cave 13 years ago the Ancients have returned and made our lives better than ever. But still Benders continue to try and rule over us. They have been the cause of Every war and Every Era. But that is about to change." Amon said.
"Oh why do I not like the sound of this." Sean said.
"Everyone has been wondering what is the Revelation? Well...You are about to get your answer. The Ancients have given me a power to make equality a reality as it once was a million years ago. They have given me the power to take away a bender's power...Permanently." Amon said shocking everyone especially Korra.
"Theres no way they would give someone that power. Mana wouldn't let them." Korra said.
"Well if he's telling the truth only one way to find out." Sean said.
"Now for a demonstration." Amon said as the Triple Threats that his followers kidnapped were brought out along with Bolin who looked nervous and scared. "Please welcome Lightning Bolt Zolt, Leader of the Triple threat Triad, And one of the most notorious criminals in Republic City." Amon said as people booed him.
"Ah, Boo yourself!" Zolt said.
"Theres Bolin." Mako said about to rush in but Sean stopped him.
"Wait." Sean said.
"Zolt has amassed a fortune by extorting and abusing non-benders, but his reign of terror is about to come to an end. Now, in the interest of fairness as the King would give, I will give Zolt a chance to fight to keep his bending." Amon said as he was let go.
"You just signed your death warrant pal." Zolt said before attacking him.
In almost no time at all Amon had Zolt in his grasp before placing his palm on his head making him groan before it stopped and was let go.
Zolt tried to firebend again but nothing happened making the crowd look in awe.
"What...What did you do to me?" Zolt asked.
"Your firebending is gone...Forever. The Era of bending is over. Now begins an era of True Equality under the leadership of the Ancients once again." Amon said as the people applauded.
"As much as I support that last part." Sean said behind him making the people gasp as Amon faced him. "I find it very difficult to believe they would give you that power and not tell me." Sean said with Mako and Korra next to him.
"Well. Unexpected. The son of Mana himself. Kruger." Amon said.
"I don't know if you are actually telling the truth about the Ancients giving you that kind of power but seeing is believing. However." Sean said freeing Bolin. "This is one Bender you won't be taking since he's no criminal. Just an Idiot who was desperate for cash so his team could play in the championship." Sean said.
"Really? And you couldn't find a way that didn't involve criminals?" Amon asked making Bolin sulk.
"He's always doing dumb things. And more so since these guys showed up." Mako said looking at the Ojama brothers.
"Hey!" They yelled insulted.
"Whatever your up to I will warn you this. If any blood is spilled of an innocent...I will come after you with the other Ancients." Sean said.
"I assure you I have no intentions of spilling blood. Especially those who actually haven't done any crimes like these men." Amon said looking at the Tripple threats who looked at Sean pleadingly.
"I should hope so. Lets go." Sean said as they left while some of the Equalists were about to follow.
"Let them go. I have no quarrel with him nor do I intend to attract unwanted attention from the Ancients by harming one of their own. Plus they are the perfect messengers to tell Republic City of my power." Amon said.
Later
Tenzin was speaking with Mana and the other Ancients before Sean and Korra arrived.
"There you are. I was just about to send out the others to look for you." Mana said.
"Sorry we got caught up." Sean said.
"Did you find your friend?" Tenzin asked.
"Yeah...But we might have a problem. We were at an Equalist rally. We saw Amon." Korra said.
"So?" Mana asked.
"He can take other peoples bending away for good." Korra said.
"Thats...Thats impossible. Only the Avatar and the Ancients have that power." Tenzin said.
"Thats the thing. He claims an Ancient gave him that power." Sean said.
"Well...He might not be lying. Some of the higher ranked Ancients also share Amon's views when it comes to bending. At least when it comes to the individual and not the whole group. So one of them may have given him that power under certain conditions." Mana said.
"But why not tell you or us?" Sean asked.
"Obviously because we wouldn't agree unless there was some rules established. And Amon aims to take all bending. Whatever he's up to would disrupt this world's balance. It's become part of the world and can't be fully taken away. The next generation would just inherit that power." Mana said.
"Hmm. However Amon has achieved this power it's clear the revolution is more dangerous than ever. No Bender is safe out there." Tenzin said.
After that Sean was in his room before Korra walked in.
"You ok?" Sean asked.
"Yeah just shaken up by that display. Why didn't you just take him down?" Korra asked.
"Because it would just make him a Martyr. It would look like the Ancients favor Benders and complicate things. Theres a time and place for actions like that and a time not for them. It's Besides even if I did take him down it wouldn't actually mean his group would disband anyway." Sean said.
"I guess." Korra said sitting next to him.
"It's gonna be just fine." Sean said.
Authors Note: And with that the Revelation begins. Now Next chapter we see some more Ancients and something even more interesting next Chapter.
