"Prologue"
"Regina, the gate is open. I know you don't want to, but you have to go back by yourself. I won't leave Paula." Dylan stated.
"Are you crazy!?", Regina asked.
"Just go please! You have the Third Energy data, right?"
Hesitantly, Regina reached into her pocket and pulled out the small disk.
"When you get back to our original time, use the data to learn about Third Energy. Then build a perfect gate an come pick us up for the last time." said Dylan sternly.
"I, Dylan, I will I promise." Regina said.
Dylan then gave her a salute which she returned.
'Detonation in ten seconds' announced the computer voice.
"Don't forget, you still owe me one!" she reminded Dylan.
" Well than you'd better get back quick."
Running up to the time gate Regina looked over her shoulder one last time at Dylan and Paula before returning to the present time.
Chapter 1: Intro
"Well, Regina, it's done." stated Rick. He had just completed the small portable time gate that would allow his red headed partner to go back to the future world and rescue her trapped ally.
"Finally, it sure took long enough," commented Regina, " You sure this is going to work?" she asked as she took the small device from him. The time gate was about the size of a cellular phone. The dials were arranged underneath a rotating screen to guard against accidental activation of the gate. The gate could either be set manually or by a preprogrammed setting.
"It'll work, but only twice. Its got enough power to get us there and back. Now on another note you said that when you left the building had ten seconds till detonation, I solved that problem too," Rick replied as he reached over to a computer console and ejected a small disk, "by wirelessly uploading this into the Habitat Support Facility's mainframe I can reset the timers on the self destruct system. That will give us a five minute window to
move the computer bank and evacuate the facility."
"Good, with that taken care of, I'm going to go get the team." Regina said as she began to pull on her jacket.
Suddenly, an alarm behind Rick began to sound. "What's going on?" asked Regina. Rick slid over to the computer in question to check the problem. "Shit," he exclaimed, " We're being hacked!" Ricks hands began flying across the keyboard as he attempted to lock out the intruder.
Walking back over to where Rick was working Regina asked, "Can you tell who it is?"
"Not at this second, but what I can tell is that they are either really good, or there's a whole team working against me."
"Why would someone be trying to hack us unless they already knew what was in those computers?" Regina asked.
"I don't know but, Yes! I locked them out." Rick turned to Regina smiling.
"Did they get anything?"
"Hang on I'll check." with that Rick turned back to the computer and began to run a systems check.
"Well, I'm going to go pick up the team, call me when you find out what's going on."
"Right, Oh and Regina make sure you run by S.O.R.T. Headquarters, I recruited three more members."
"We're just going, getting Dylan and Paula, and coming home. How many people do you think we'll need?" Regina replied with a sigh.
"Hey, never hurts to be prepared for anything." Rick said with a laugh.
"True, be right back." said as she left.
"See-ya" Rick said as he turned back to the computer and continued his check.
