Luke was on the way to pick up Garcia. Plans had been solidified the next day after he saw her calendar. Thank goodness Roxy had been a little like Lassie when he had called.

He pulled up outside her apartment. He took a few deep breaths and stepped outside of his hybrid. He rang the bell to her apartment and waited. " Be right down.", she said. Up in her apartment, Garcia was putting on the finishing touches to her outfit. He hadn't really told her where they were going, but had said it was a casual evening. Did he even know what her definition of casual was?

Finally, she had settled on this fabulous 80's inspired look, complete with fishnet gloves and a fun neon colored dress with ruffles. She even had a sparkly banana clip in her hair. She threw on the gloves grabbed her vintage rattan purse and headed out.

As he stared through the window as she walked down the stairs, his mouth went dry and he wished his wingwoman Roxy was there. He could do this! He screamed at himself in his head. She was so beautiful! If possible she seemed even more beautiful now that she was free of the disturbing job that had brought them together. He remembered the first time they met and how even then he liked her when she was trying to drive him away and not get close to yet another team member who would go away. Well what do you know... she is the one who left the the team this time.

As she approached the door, he became a gentleman and a doofus at the same time. He actually reached to open the door for her, which would have been a great way to start the night had he remembered that it was locked, hence the reason he was standing outside the building instead of her apartment.

It served to be a great icebreaker. They both laughed and in her laughter she slipped on the top step and grabbed for his strong muscular arm. Goodness those were some muscles.

As they approached his car, Garcia checked off one more thing on her perfect man list. Hybrid!

He opened this door for her with no problem and they were on there way. He wanted to be as unique with the date as she was. So he had chosen roller derby. They made polite chit chat as they got closer to the arena, she realized where they were headed. Boy was he in for a surprise. As they walked through the doors, quite a few ladies came rolling over. "Baby Girl, we thought you couldn't make it tonight. Something about a hot date..."

Garcia couldn't tell which held more shock his face or the girls got a look at her date. "We need you Baby Girl, Abby Stabby can't play."

She tried to weasel out. She wanted to enjoy some time with Luke. She was surprised to hear him encourage her to play. "Get on out there. We can have a boring first date next time."

Lucky she left her equipment there after last practice. A few minutes later they took their places on the track. Luke was blown away by her pink tutu and purple uniform. As game play continued, he watched her take some hard hits as a blocker but was amazed at how the team worked together and seemed to let her take the lead. This was a side of her that he had never seen. He had seen her be pushy but not like this. In the end, her team just didn't have enough points. They won a few jams but just not enough.

It took her a little while to change back to her street clothes and put on a few bandaids but she looked perfect as she walked out of the locker room.

This hadn't gone anything like he had expected, but he was not disappointed. He shifted his plans and asked "What do you say to some carry out and a nice view?"

Garcia smiled and gave him a smirk, "Didn't you already have a nice view or did you take a nap?" In truth he hadn't been able to keep his eyes off of her. She was so unexpected and dreamy!

They drove through and got some wonderful vegetarian food and went on a drive and parked to overlook the city. They talked some more about her replacement and about her new job, but it was getting late.

He walked her back to her door and so wanted to kiss her. He said "Garcia, there is something that I've been wanted to do all night." She froze.
