Chapter 12 Aftermath
Its been a few days since the finals of the Pro Bending Leagues with Tahno and his team losing their bending abilities since they were caught cheating and bribing the refs.
Now they were in Jail for these crimes and the Refs were fired.
Some people hoped when the new season started the Ancients would keep an eye on the games to prevent this from happening.
And of course since Amon kept his promise by attacking the Arena with some special gloves that actually shocked Lin's officers out cold proving they had the means to go head to head with them now.
Right now Sean and Korra were on the Curse of Dragon heading to the stadium since Mako and his brother were being kicked out.
"I can't believe they're kicking them out like this." Korra said.
"After what happened you can't blame them since they don't want to take chances." Sean said before they rushed in.
"I still can't believe they're shutting this place down." Mako said as he and his brother packed up.
"Yeah, we had some good memories here, didn't we?" Bolin said feeling down before the two rushed up.
"Hello!" Sean said.
"Guys, great news. You don't have to go back on the streets. I talked to Tenzin and made all the arrangements. You can live on Air Temple Island with us." Korra said.
"Oh...Well, we'd love to, but." Mako tried to say.
"Asami already invited us to live in her dad's giant mansion!" Bolin said excited.
"I'm surprised she let you two come live with her since neither of you are dating her. Or is this another way of apologizing for running you over?" Sean asked.
"Hey. I said it was an accident." Asami said above them.
"I'm just kidding." Sean said.
"So we'll see you guys around?" Mako asked.
"Sure. But first we're heading to the Ancients world for a little while." Korra said as they left.
"Mind if we tag along?" Asami asked.
"Don't you have to help them set up first?" Korra asked.
"Oh yeah." Asami said.
Later
"Ah home sweet home." Sean said making Korra smirk.
"Please the South is our home." Korra said as they went into the Library.
"There you are." Mana said appearing.
"Just coming to get some information on spells." Sean said.
"You mean about how Amon is taking peoples bending away." Mana said.
"Yup." Korra said opening one of the more advanced books.
"You might as well quit while you're ahead. Mahad and I have been over these books several times and nothing has come up about Amon's ability to take it away." Mana said.
"Great." Sean said.
"I can however easily tell that his power is ancient but something about it feels off." Mana said.
"Meaning?" Korra asked.
"I don't know. It just feels off." Mana said.
"Any luck locating Bakura?" Sean asked.
"The last place he was found was in the Earth Kingdom desert. So you two should be fine." Mana said.
"Good enough." Korra said.
"Well, even though you won't find anything here there is some good news. I heard from Jinzo they found those gloves at Cabage corp and shut them down." Mana said.
"I'm not so sure about that. The South never buys anything from there cause all their products are all garbage due to rushed production and what not." Sean said.
"Then why were they found at that storage place?" Korra asked.
"I don't know. Maybe they were set up or something else." Sean said.
Later
After coming back from the ancients world they arrived at Asami's home seeing Pabu jumping into a pool with Bolin.
"Earthbending bomb!" Bolin yelled just as a servant lead Sean and Korra in the room.
"Avatar Korra and Lord Kruger have arrived." A servant said.
"Damn." Sean said. "And you just wanna hang out with us when you got all this?" Sean teased making Asami giggle.
"Money can only get you so much in life." Asami said making Korra giggle.
"Glad you guys could make it." Mako said before Bolin came out.
"Welcome to Paradise." Bolin said.
"Now don't get too attached since you won't be living here forever now." Sean said.
"Looks like you guys settled right in." Korra said as they sat down before Sean held her close making her smile.
"Pretty much. Except someone forgot to ask her father if we could stay here." Mako said looking at Asami making them chuckle.
"I smoothed it over with him. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission." Asami said.
"CANNON BALL!" Yellow jumped in.
"Oh for the love of...You know at times like this I can't help but wonder the kind of Ancient Bolin has inside him." Sean said making the others blink.
"Excuse me?" Asami asked.
"Oh I forgot you don't know. Little known fact is everyone has an Ancient inside them when they are born and when that person dies that Ancient goes to the Ancients world to live forever while the person passes to the other side." Sean said.
"So all of us have one?" Mako asked.
"Yeah...Come to think of it..." Sean trailed off before casting a little spell. "Lets find out what kind Bolin has inside him." Sean said as a sphere appeared.
Thats when another Ojama much larger with a crown appeared.
"Hey! It's the King!" Yellow said making everyone burst out laughing.
"So thats why they like you so much. You have the king of idiots inside ya!" Sean laughed as Bolin pouted.
"Lets see Mako's. Maybe his is a bigger ass." Korra said making him roll his eyes before the sphere was in front of him.
Thats when a large fire serpent appeared. (Solar Flare Dragon)
"Nice." Mako said impressed.
Thats when Asami was next making her grin.
And it turned out to be a large machine type. (Perfect Machine King)
"Whoa. Nice." Asami said amazed. "What about you two?" Asami asked.
"Ours are God Level ones so thats harder to show. Bolin has a low level one. Mako has a Middle level type and you have a High Level one." Sean said making her grin.
"So, what do you have planned for us today? Let me guess, shopping, Makeovers?" Korra asked amused.
"Oh, Oh, I vote makeovers." Bolin said before Mako dunked him.
"I have something a little more exciting in mind." Asami said grinning.
"Oh dear." Sean said making Korra giggle.
Soon all five were outside seeing some race track.
"Ok now I'm really impressed." Sean said.
"Way cooler than a makeover." Korra said.
"This is where future Industries test drives their Sato-Mobiles. Ever been behind the wheel?" Asami asked.
"The only thing I know how to drive is a polar bear-dog." Korra said.
"What about you Sean?" Asami asked.
"No. Tarrlok already tried to bribe us with a car but we don't know how to drive." Sean said.
"Care to give it a shot?" Asami asked making him look at her before shrugging.
"First time for everything." Sean said as he and Korra went down with Asami.
While Sean was in one car after Asami showed him how it works with Korra in the back Asami was in the other.
"Ready...GO!" Asami yelled as they drove off.
"Whoa!" Korra yelled as they went by fast before they were real close.
"I think I got the hang of this." Sean said before Asami bumped them. "HEY!" Sean yelled making her laugh.
"I never said you couldn't play dirty!" Asami said.
"Ok spoiled brat." Sean said before using magic to make them go faster.
"HEY! NO FAIR!" Asami yelled.
"YOU SAID WE COULD PLAY DIRTY!" Sean yelled as Korra laughed before they passed the finish line.
"Ok that was really fun." Korra said jumping out.
"Ok you two got me good." Asami said jumping out.
Soon they went back inside before Bolin rushed to the bathroom.
"Uh, is there another bathroom I can use?" Korra asked.
"We have a ladies powder room upstairs. First door on your right." Asami said before Korra rushed up.
After using the bathroom Korra washed her hands before grabbing a beauty product.
"Hmm." Korra said.
Thats when she hit herself with it making a large cloud of powder making her cough and sputter before coming out of the room.
"Now don't tell me you're actually giving that stuff a shot now are ya?" Sean asked as he was on the wall waiting for her.
"I've never once understood why girls use this garbage." Korra said as Sean used his magic to get it off making her grin at him.
"No, no, no. Everything is going exactly as planned." Hiroshi said in his office making them very curious before getting closer to listen. "Luckily the Cabbage corp investigation has bought us enough time. Trust me, by the end of the week, we'll be ready to strike." Hiroshi said on phone before hanging up making Korra widen her eyes before the two left giving the others an excuse.
Later
"So you two think Mr. Sato manufactured those gloves for the equalists, then framed cabbage corp?" Tenzin asked Sean and Korra.
"Thats what we think. What he said points in that direction." Korra said.
"Yeah." Sean said.
"Thats a bold accusation. But what proof do you have?" Lin asked.
"We weren't fucking talking to you." Sean said making her sigh. "Look Hiroshi is up to something. But what I can't understand is why he would join with the Equalists." Sean said.
"Yeah me either. I mean he supported our team and paid for us to get in the finals. Gave a full testimony about what happened when Amon attacked and let Mako and Bolin stay with him when the Arena shut down. I don't understand why he would join them." Korra said.
"Well..." Lin trailed off.
"Spit it out already." Sean said making her frown.
"There is one reason he would since he does have a motive you wouldn't know about since you two were in the South when it happened." Lin said.
"Meaning?" Sean asked.
"12 years ago while you both were still it south, the Agni Kai triad robbed Sato's mansion. A firebender killed Sato's wife during the break-in." Tenzin said sadly.
"That's terrible." Korra said as she held Sean.
"It was tragic. It's possible he's been harboring Anti-bending sentiment all this time." Tenzin said.
"Maybe we should. look at Mr. Sato a little more closely." Lin said.
"Hmm." Sean said.
Later
Lin and her police force questioned Hiroshi about what he meant but he claimed that he only meant striking the Market now that his greatest competitor was out of business meaning they would make even more.
Still they asked to search the buildings he owned which he allowed.
And surprisingly nothing was found to incriminate Hiroshi to the gloves.
"I don't get it. We should have found something by now." Korra said.
"Maybe Hiroshi really isn't involved and we really did misunderstood it. Happens all the time." Sean said.
"Mana and Mahad trained me to trust my instincts and they tell me that he's up to something.." Korra said.
"Trusting your instincts is a good trait...But even instincts can be proven to be wrong as well." Sean said walking to Tenzin and Lin making her sigh before she felt a piece of paper in her hand making her widen her eyes before she looked around seeing a large number of people before reading the note.
"Uh Sean." Korra said gaining his attention. "You better have a look at this." Korra said handing him the paper.
"If you want to find the truth, meet me under the north end of the silk road bridge at midnight." Sean read.
Sean, Korra along with Tenzin and Lin arrived at the destination before someone came out from under the bridge.
"Listen, I joined the Equalists because I believed in what Amon said. I thought he could make life better for us non-benders. But I didn't sign up for this war. Not against the Ancients who make life better for all of us."
"What do you have on Hiroshi Sato?" Lin asked.
"He manufactured those gloves for the Equalists."
"I knew it!" Korra said.
"Welp I guess your instincts were right after all." Sean said.
"And there are rumors he's working on something even bigger. Some kind of new weapon."
"We searched all of Future industries and found nothing." Tenzin said.
"Thats because he has a secret factory."
"Where?" Korra asked.
"It's right underneath the Sato mansion."
"That makes sense. The one place we would never look without a warrant." Sean said.
Later
The group along with Lin's officers arrived at the house but didn't find Hiroshi before they arrived in his workshop.
"No one is here." Sean said before Kuriboh started bouncing on the ground looking at it.
"What is it?" Korra asked before Ruby started clawing at it.
"Only one reason they would do that." Sean said as Lin Metal bended the ground finding a secret passageway.
"Do you think your dad knows about this tunnel?" Bolin asked.
"I don't understand. There must be an explanation." Asami said.
"Maybe you don't know everything about your father. I'm sorry." Korra said.
"Officers, into the tunnel." Lin said getting them to do that.
"You three stay here. We don't know what we're gonna find." Sean said as he and Korra went down with the others.
Using the lift they arrived in Hiroshi's secret factory finding Amon's face on flags.
"Welp...I'd say we found the factory." Sean said seeing large Metal tanks.
"And I guess those are the new weapons." Korra said looking at them.
"Hiroshi was lying all right, but where is he?" Tenzin asked before the entrance sealed off.
"Great we walked into a trap." Sean said before the tanks turned on.
"Very observant Kruger." Hiroshi said on one of them.
"Hiroshi I know your angry about what happened 12 years ago but you can't blame every benders for the actions of others." Sean said.
"Maybe not. But how many lives have been taken by benders from both sides? If the Ancients want full control again as they once did...Benders must come to an end." Hiroshi said about to strike only for them to hear a horse making them look seeing Gaia the Fierce knight charging right at him forcing him back. "What! What are you doing!" Hiroshi asked in shock.
"Now we must get involved. The gloves we could tolerate without question but building machines of war is over the line." Gaia said before more Mid level Ancients appeared.
"NO!" Hiroshi yelled as Summoned Skull blasted some of his machines back into a wall.
"Now things are getting interesting." Sean said as Jinzo appeared before blasting several of the Tanks.
Swamp and Lava Battleguard smashed one of the tanks before Two headed King Rex took a big bite out of the one Hiroshi was in making him scream in shock before he was pulled out and thrown on the ground.
Hiroshi groaned before looking up seeing Sean before picking him up hard.
"This nonsense is going way over the line. I get you people are angry about what happened to you by the actions of some benders but you cannot blame them all! It's selfish and pathetic. Tell me Hiroshi would you kill a child who's a bender if it got rid of them all permanently?" Sean asked shocking him.
"No! God no! I just think this world would be better without them. Why can't you?" Hiroshi asked.
"Because I'm not someone who has a narrow minded view." Sean said throwing him away. "After all Bakura is a non bender and look at the damage he's caused. Worked for Zorc the creator of the Shadow realm for selfish reasons. He destroyed an Era of peace and true equality without bending." Sean said shocking him.
"He's right dad." Asami said shocking him that she was here with Mako and Bolin. "How could you think that this was the solution?" Asami asked.
"You don't understand. After I lost your mother I was in a state of sorrow. Amon approached me with an offer a couple years later to rid the world of the bending Curse. Think of it. How many wars have been started because of Benders? How many lives have been lost because of them. But with Amon we can end all that and make the world better." Hiroshi said before the place began to explode.
"The place is rigged to blow." Gaia said getting Sean on the back with Korra.
Thats when other Equalists showed up and knocked out some of Lin's officers.
"Asami please. Join us and..." Hiroshi tried to say before the place started coming apart.
"INCOMING!" Jinzo yelled as they all vanished before the place fully collapsed.
Later
Everyone was outside looking at the Sato mansion as the Ancients looked all over the place.
"Theres nothing left here. Hiroshi cleared out." Sean said.
"You know...Part of me can't help but agree with him on what he said. Bending has caused a lot of pain over the years because the Ancients were gone." Korra said.
"True. But eventually those who misuse that gift will no longer have it when they fully take control again." Sean said.
Authors Note: At times I wish I could replace Hiroshi with someone else but theres no one else. Anyway next Chapter when Extremes meet. We're getting close to the end here already.
