Chapter 14 Endgame
Korra slowly woke up with a moan as she found herself in her boyfriend's arms making her smile as she fell asleep again.
"Sleep good?" Sean asked.
"Yeah. How Long have you been up?" Korra asked.
"A while. Decided to let you sleep." Sean said making her smile as she held him close.
Soon the two got up and joined the others in the dining hall with Korra eating to regain her strength.
"The Food tastes amazing, Pema. I'm starting to feel like my old self." Korra said.
"No offense but..." Reznov tried to say.
"Shut it." Sean said making him snicker.
"Don't listen to him. He's always trying to crack a joke." Julia said.
"We're just glad to have you home." Pema said taking the dishes back.
"Let me help you." Asami said helping her.
"Korra, I realize you've been through a lot, but I need to know everything that happened." Tenzin said.
"First off, Tarrlok isn't who he says he is. He's Yakone's son." Korra said shocking them.
"Who the hell is Yakone?" Sean asked.
"Yakone was Republic city's most dangerous criminal 42 years ago when Aang was alive and he could blood bend without a full moon. That explains how he was able to do it to us." Lin said.
"How did you even figure that out?" Sean asked Korra making her smile.
"I finally connected with Aang. Those visions he sent me were warnings about Tarrlok the whole time. The real threat is never who we truly think at times." Korra said making him nod.
"But how did you find her? And where is Tarrlok?" Tenzin asked.
"Amon helped me." Sean said shocking them.
"You were working for him?" Lin asked frowning at him.
"Fuck you! I don't have to explain myself to some hag who fucking crippled me and can't even apologize for her actions." Sean said making her slam her fist down.
"Enough." Tenzin said. "Why did you go to Amon for help?" Tenzin asked.
"I didn't. At the time I still thought they took her and found a hideout. Thats when Amon told me they didn't take Korra and I knew he was telling the truth especially after explaining the flaw in Tarrlok's story about them not taking him along." Sean said.
"So you both worked to expose him in front of the council and then went after him." Tenzin said.
"Yeah. Solved two problems in one go." Sean said.
"I see." Tenzin said.
"I do however think Amon is in the stages of his End Game though. I noticed a lot of crates around the hideout when I was there. Full of supplies like explosives." Sean said.
"I see. This is very troubling. Though you two had a common goal he used this to further his point on Benders since Blood bending is Illegal he exposed him for what he truly was." Tenzin said.
"Which means things are gonna get worse." Sean said
After that Sean was outside before Korra walked to him.
"Were you really that desperate to find me you worked with him?" Korra asked.
"I wouldn't say desperate. But I knew we had a common enemy and just did what was best for the city and exposed him for the fraud and monster he truly was. I would have found you eventually on my own." Sean said making her smile.
"True." Korra said rubbing her neck.
"Still hurts?" Sean asked.
"Kinda. My Magic is still a little messed up. My bending is fine but I can't use my magic right now." Korra said.
"The Longer it's on the more effective it is when taken off. It'll come back fully in a few days." Sean said.
"So whats the plan now?" Korra asked.
"We end this war with Amon and find out what Ancient gave him this power.
Later
Tenzin was flying to city hall on Oogi before he landed and got off.
Korra and the others remained behind on the island so she could recover a little longer.
As he walked to the door he quickly dodged some devices that came at him before airbending some of Amon's men off the building before they they ran off.
"I was afraid of this." Tenzin said before multiple explosions went off throughout the entire city before Equalist airships were seen. "Amon really has entered his endgame." Tenzin said.
Meanwhile
Lin and the children saw the attack on the city.
"All right kids. Into the house." Lin said getting Jinora to lead them inside as the others rushed out.
"We heard explosions. What's going on?" Korra asked.
"Republic city is under attack." Lin said shocking them.
"Looks like I was right. Amon was in the phases of his endgame." Sean said.
"Wait? Where are all the Ancients?" Korra asked not seeing them.
"Odd. I don't see any of them either. Either Amon has some spell or whatever Ancient gave him his power is behind this." Sean said.
Meanwhile
On a blimp was Hiroshi looking at a photo of his family before putting it away before walking to Amon.
"I've dreamed of this day for so long." Hiroshi said.
"Yes. The time has come for the equalists to claim Republic city as their own." Amon said.
"What about the Ancients? Won't they get involved?" Hiroshi asked.
"Not with this in hand." Amon said holding some book. "It's an ancient spell book with old spells. One of which is keeping them from getting close to the City. By the time the spells wears off in a week we'll have full control of the City." Amon said.
Meanwhile
Korra and the others got to the city by Ferry before Asami got the car ready.
"Come on." Sean said trying to summon an Ancient.
"Nothing?" Korra asked before Reznov turned into one that was a Fiend Type before Julia did the same that was a Spell castor.
"Hmm. So we can turn into Ancients but we can't summon them." Sean said.
"But you half ancient." Korra said.
"And half Human. That part keeps me here." Sean said.
"Look we can figure out about why this is happening later. Right now we need to focus on stopping Amon and his army before people get hurt." Reznov said.
"Right." Sean said turning into Red Eyes and roared before picking up Reznov and Julia while Korra and the others got in Asami's car and drove off while Sean flew off.
At Police headquarters things were no better for them.
"Chief, Air unit seven was just taken out by an equalist airship. They crashed into the harbor."
"Send a river rescue unit." Saikhan said.
"All river rescue ships hav been sabotaged."
"What?" Saikhan asked shocked before Tenzin rushed in. "Tenzin, am I glad to see you. I was afraid you'd been captured too." Saikhan said.
"I'm the only council member left. What's the status?" Tenzin asked.
"Amon has launched simultaneous attacks across the boroughs. The Police are trying to regain control, but we're spread too thin. And the ancients are nowhere in sight." Saikhan said making Tenzin frown.
"I need to send a wire." Tenzin said.
"To whom, Councilman?"
"The General of the united forces." Tenzin said.
More police officers were rushing to get their jobs done when gas filled the vents making them cough before collapsing.
"Councilman, your wire has been sent."
"Chief, the phone lines just went dead."
Suddenly the alarms went off before shutting off along with the power before Saikhan pulled out a flashlight.
Thats when the gas came out of the vents.
"Saikhan, the vents!" Tenzin said getting him to use metal bending to close them but more came through the door. "We need to evacuate immediately. Everyone stay close to me." Tenzin said.
Tenzin used his airbending to avoid the gas before they made it outside only to come face to face with Hiroshi's Mecha-tanks.
"Not these Mecha-tanks again." Tenzin said before three of them used large magnets to capture Saikhan and his officers while the others fought Tenzin who tried to stop them but Saikhan and his officers were already gone and Teznin was down since he was outnumbered.
Thats when Sean flew down before blasting several of the Tanks back before Reznov turned into summoned Skull and blasted them back while Julia turned into Cosmo queen and blasted them back.
Thats when Asami drove up and watched as they took them down easily before what was left ran off.
"That was quick." Korra said rushing to Tenzin who got up. "Are you ok?" Korra asked.
"Yes. Another Moment and I would have been on my way to Amon. But where are the Ancients?" Tenzin asked.
"We don't know. We think Amon might be behind this to keep them from interfering from fully taking over the City." Sean said.
Above them Hiroshi saw all this and frowned.
"Once again Tenzin has evaded Capture. I can't stand Asami being besides those Benders." Hiroshi said.
"We'll capture him before long. And you'll have your daughter back." Amon said.
On the ground the others were going over whats happened.
"As long as we can't summon the Ancients Amon is on the winning side of this battle." Sean said.
"Agreed. We need to know how he's doing this." Tenzin said.
"Uh, guys?" Mako said making them look seeing A few airships heading for Air Temple island.
"Oh, no." Tenzin said.
Back on the island
Lin frowned at this as she saw them coming.
"Everyone, Hide inside and remain calm." Lin said ready to face them when Pema yelled out. "Pull it together, Pema. Didn't I just say remain calm." Lin said before seeing her looking uncomfortable.
"Mommy, whats wrong?" Ikki asked.
"The Baby's coming!" Pema yelled shocking them all.
"Oh, no." Jinora said.
"Not now, Baby!" Meelo said before the acolytes led her inside.
Thats when Equalists showed up making Lin get ready.
Only for a powerful roar to be heard making them look up on one of the buildings seeing a Beast type Ancient known as Gazelle the King of Mythical beasts before he dropped down on them and started attacking them making them cry out in shock as he took them down without even trying before they retreated.
"Never thought I'd be happy to see one of you." Lin said as he narrowed his eyes before roaring as he slashes her chest making her cry out in pain as he stood over her with a fierce glare before picking her up and snarled. "What are you doing!" Lin yelled in shock.
"This...Is for what you did to my brother." He said about to cut one of her eyes out shocking her.
"Let her go, Turok." Korra said behind him with the others making him snarl before dropping her.
Thats when this Ancient turned into a 13 year old boy with Tan skin brown hair and blue eyes wearing brown robes.
"You cannot seriously tell me she doesn't deserve that." Turok said.
"Not saying she doesn't but this ain't the time nor place." Sean said making him grumble.
"Uh who is he?" Asami asked.
"Oh this is my adopted little brother Turok. Another Sentinel. However unlike Reznov and Julia he can summon and turn into three types of Ancients. Warriors, Beasts and Beast-Warriors." Sean said.
"Mind explaining why he attacked me for no reason?" Lin asked ticked off.
"No reason? You attacked my brother and fucking crippled him." Turok said in her face making her sigh.
"Look I..." Lin said.
"Shut up." Turok said making her glare.
"Enough. This isn't the time. Anything happen?" Sean asked.
"One. Pema went into Labor." Lin said making Tenzin widen his eyes before rushing inside.
"Now what?" Turok asked.
"We need to get out of here since we're at a clear disadvantage. Without the Ancients helping us we can't do anything other than cause a headache." Reznov said.
"I hate to say it but he's right." Korra said before Tenzin and his family walked out with his new Son Rohan.
"What do we do?" Korra asked.
"I need to protect my family and get them as far away from this conflict as possible. If Amon got his hands on my children...I hate to even think of it." Tenzin said.
"If you're leaving, then I'm going with you." Lin said.
"What about us?" Korra asked.
"I sent word to the united forces. They will be here soon." Tenzin said.
"With backup we can turn the tide in our favor." Reznov said.
Tenzin and his family got on Oogi while Sean turned into Red Eyes to carry the others away.
"Be careful." Korra said.
"You too." Tenzin said getting on Oogi while Korra got on Sean as he grabbed Naga before flying off just as more airships arrived only for Sean to blast them down before heading to the sewers.
Tenzin and his family were being followed by the Equalist airships before a net was fired at them but Lin destroyed it before grabbing the line.
"Whatever happens to me, don't turn back." Lin said.
"Lin, what are you doing?" Tenzin asked as she jumped to the airship before using metal bending to destroy it.
Then she jumped to the other ship and did some damage before being electrocuted.
This gave Tenzin and his family the chance to escape.
"That lady is my hero." Meelo said.
"Yes, she is." Tenzin said sadly.
Korra and the others were in the sewers before she frowned at the sight of so many Equalist airships at Air Temple island before Sean held her close.
"We should get moving." Sean said making her sigh before they walked further into the tunnels.
"I hate the whole doing nothing thing." Korra said.
"Yeah I know. But its the only thing we can do for now." Sean said.
Later
Lin was presented to Amon as he looked down on her.
"If you expect me to cut you some deal..." Lin tried to say.
"Hardly. Consider this payback for your past actions against the Ancients." Amon said placing his hand on her head taking her bending before she collapsed.
Days later
"It is a glorious day, my equalist brothers and sisters. Amon has torn down the tyrannical bending government! He has declared bending illegal. And he has the Avatar on the run. Our Great leader has a vision for the future One day soon, bending will no longer exist and we will live in a world where everyone is finally equal. The united forces are on their way right now to try to stop that dream but we will prevail!" Hiroshi yelled getting a crowd to cheer.
Unknown to them was that Turok in Silver Fang's form was listening before snarling before running off before coming to a hole and jumped down before seeing Sean and Korra before turning Human.
"Well?" Sean asked.
"Hiroshi is running his mouth. Guy pisses me off." Turok said.
"I know the feeling. But until we find out how he's preventing the ancients from coming here theres nothing we can do but wait for the united forces to show up." Sean said before they walked off.
Thats when the found the others with people who Tarrlok screwed over for his own selfish reasons.
"So whats happening?" Reznov asked.
"Oh Hiroshi is running his mouth." Turok said making Asami frown. "Uh...I didn't mean..." Turok tried to say.
"It's all right. I never knew he would be like this." Asami said.
"Loss effects us all in different ways." Sean said.
"So the United forces should show tomorrow and we'll be ready." Reznov said.
"Yeah." Sean said.
A little while later everyone was asleep to be ready for tomorrow.
Korra however was wide awake against Naga.
"Can't sleep?" Sean asked walking to her.
"No, I have this awful pit in my stomach." Korra said.
"That I can understand." Sean said sitting next to her.
"It's so crazy. A few weeks ago we were in the South Pole with Mahad finishing my Airbending training. And now we're in the middle of a war." Korra said.
"Life is full of surprises Korra. This war and even the one that Bakura started are proof of that. Still some good things come out of those surprises. It's how we met." Sean said making her smile.
"Yeah. You know when I found out I was the Avatar I was really excited. Then you came into my life and I was really happy to have a friend." Korra said making him smile before kissing her.
"I know. Get some rest." Sean said as she fell asleep before he followed suit.
Next day
The group made it out of the tunnel to see if the United forces would be arriving soon before they made it to the top.
"Ok the guy has a fucking Ego." Turok said seeing Amon's mask on Aang's statue making Korra's eyes twitch.
"Ok I really hate him." Korra said.
"Mmm." Sean said.
"Once the united forces arrive, we need to be ready to help in any way we can." Korra said.
"I know." Sean said assuring her.
"I see them." Reznov said seeing the ships coming in through the mist.
"Hold up...Something is really wrong. Where are the air ships?" Sean asked making Korra look seeing they weren't here as well.
"Now that I think about it where are the Mecha Tanks?" Korra asked.
"Amon had to know they were coming. So what is he up to?" Mako asked.
Suddenly explosions in the water went off.
"MINES!" Reznov yelled before Korra and Sean dived in to stop them.
Turning into the Legendary Fisherman he rushed at the mines.
Thats when they heard a low buzzing sound.
"Now what?" Korra asked.
"I get the feeling something new is about to show up." Sean said before a few dozen high speed aircraft came in.
"Where does Hiroshi keep finding the time to keep inventing new evil machines?" Bolin asked.
In one of the new machines Hiroshi was piloting his new invention before dropping bombs.
"SHIT!" Sean yelled as they went down to avoid getting hit as the whole fleet was going down.
Thats when General Iroh fell into the water before Korra grabbed him and both bolted to the others.
Later
"I was prepared to deal with Sato's Mech-Tanks, but not these new high-speed aircraft." Iroh said as Korra used waterbending to heal him.
"He always seems to plan ahead. It's like he knows whats gonna happen before we do." Sean said.
"Every time we think we have an advantage, Amon outsmarts us." Korra said.
"No matter what our plan is, he always has a better one." Bolin said.
"Amon is winning so far, but we're not out of this fight yet." Iroh said.
"How so?" Turok asked.
"A second wave of reinforcements is on the way. But I need to warn them. Do you still have a way to get a message out?" Iroh asked.
"We know just the man for the job." Korra said.
The man they first met in the Park known as Gommu had everything set up for a telegraph message.
"And who is the recipient of this top-secret message?" Gommu asked.
"Commander Bumi. Second division of the united forces." Iroh said making him crack his knuckles.
"Wait. Teznin's brother?" Sean asked.
"Yes. Bit of a wild man but the bravest fighter you'll ever meet." Iroh said.
"Ready, sir." Gommu said.
"Fleet ambushed and destroyed by Equalist aircraft. Retreat to Red sand island until my signal. Do not approach city until you receive the all-clear." Iroh said.
"We need to find Amon and end this. Even if we took out those Aircraft it wouldn't mean a difference. People will still follow him." Reznov said.
"He's right. I think I got an idea. Amon will most likely use Air Temple island." Sean said.
"So we go in and try to take him out." Korra said.
"Yeah." Sean said.
"It might be our best option." Iroh said.
"I don't know maybe we should just take out the airfield first." Turok said.
"It wouldn't change anything. If we take the city back by force it only proves Amon's point." Sean said.
"I'm afraid he's right." Iroh said.
"But once this is over the council thing is coming to an end. Since they let this happen." Sean said.
Sean used his magic to make him and Korra look like Equalists before Korra used Waterbending to make an air bubble to get them to the island.
Arriving at the Island they saw some of the other Equalists walking around.
"Theres Amon." Korra said looking up seeing him on the tower before getting on an airship.
"Lets sneak in." Sean said.
Arriving at the tower they used a back entrance before heading up top.
"Uh Sean? We're not alone." Korra said making him look seeing Tarrlok in a cell.
"Tarrlok?" Sean asked ending the disguise with Korra.
"I don't suppose you're here to rescue me." Tarrlok said.
"The fuck do you think? We didn't even know you were even here. Are there any other prisoners?" Sean asked.
"No. It's only me." Tarrlok said.
"And what makes you so special?" Korra asked.
"Because I'm Amon's brother." Tarrlok said shocking them.
"Excuse me? Your Amon's brother? Did you know from the start?" Sean asked.
"No never once even considered it. I didn't know it was him until he took my bending. The sensation felt familiar to me. I later recognized it as my brother's blood bending grip." Tarrlok said.
"So he's a Blood Bender too?" Korra asked.
"Ok I'm completely confused here. How can both of you be Yakone's kids. According to Tenzin he had no kids during his time as a criminal boss before his bending was taken away." Sean said.
"Technically that is true. However he didn't stay in prison like most believe." Tarrlok said.
"Meaning what?" Korra asked.
"Shortly after he had his bending taken away he had his former Gang bust him out secretly and change his identity. Shortly after he left Republic City and began a new life in the North where he quickly met my mother. A kind caring woman. Then they had my brother who in those days was known as Noatak. Then I was born a couple years later. He was a good kid in those days. Until our father discovered we were Water Benders. He saw a way for us to regain what he lost and trained us to Blood Bend like him. Something in him changed when this happened. Then one day during Training he just left. My father passed away A couple years later because of this." Tarrlok said.
"Thats...one of the saddest things I've ever heard." Korra said as Sean held her.
"However...Something felt different in Noatak's blood bending." Tarrlok said.
"What do you mean different?" Sean asked.
"It didn't feel like he was just taking it away from me...It felt more like he was...Absorbing it." Tarrlok said.
"You mean like the Bending Energy in you?" Korra asked.
"Yes...It felt like he was transferring it to himself. I don't know how to explain it." Tarrlok said.
"This is all the proof we need." Sean said.
"What do you mean?" Korra asked.
"Everyone thinks he's a nonbender gifted by one of the Ancients but I always kept thinking that had to be a lie. Now we know how he's doing it. He using blood bending to do it. When People see that..." Sean trailed off.
"They'll turn on him and he'll lose all the support he's gained. Where is he?" Korra asked.
"At the Bending Arena." Tarrlok said as they tried to leave. "Listen both of you." Tarrlok said stopping them. "I know theres something different about my brother. What that is I don't know completely. All I know is theres something different about him." Tarrlok said.
"We'll keep that in mind." Sean said as they left.
Later
Everyone was ready at the Arena to ambush Amon and expose him for the fraud he was.
Sean and Korra were in the stands.
"Lets hope this works." Korra said before the lights turned on.
"Thank you all for joining me on this. historic occasion." Amon said as people cheered. "When I was a boy, A firebender struck down my entire family and left me scarred. That tragic event began my quest to equalize the world." Amon said.
"Thats a lie, Amon!" Korra said shocking him before she and Sean revealed themselves. "Or should we call you, Noatak." Korra said making him narrow his eyes.
"You want them taken out?" His Lieutenant asked.
"No...Let me guess. You plan to use what Tarrlok told you right?" Amon asked shocking them.
"How..." Korra tried to say.
"Theres nothing you can keep from me. I know everything you do before you do it." Amon said making Sean narrow his eyes.
"Wait a second." Sean said stopping her. "He knows what we're gonna do before we actually do it. He always has some edge against people and knew what others were doing before the rest did. I think I know how." Sean said.
"What is it?" Korra asked.
"Amon...Show me your eyes." Sean said confusing her and the crowd before he chuckled.
"Finally figured it out have you?" Amon said taking off his mask before showing his scarred face. But that wasn't what Sean was looking at. In his left eye was the Millennium Eye shocking everyone.
"The Millennium Eye. Thats how you know what we're gonna do before we actually do it. Your reading everyones minds." Sean said.
"Correct. With this eye I was always ahead of my enemies. Just as you have the Puzzle I have the Eye. A Gift from the Ancient who gave me the power to take away peoples bending away for good." Amon said.
"Except Tarrlok said you didn't just take his bending away. He said it felt more like you were absorbing it into yourself." Korra said.
"Your point?" Amon asked.
"What Ancient gave you that power and the eye. The Ancients have been after those for 13 years since I awoke in the cave. If an Ancient really gave you that he or she would have told us since the only way Zorc can come back into this world is if Bakura gets all seven Items. Thats the only way he can come back." Sean said shocking him and the others.
"What?" Hiroshi asked shocked.
"He never mentioned that to me." Amon said.
"So who gave you it?" Sean asked.
"I'll be honest he never gave me his name. Just gave me the eye and this power and said to use them wisely. He was rather large tan skin blonde hair with Red eyes." Amon said making Sean widen his eyes.
"Amon...Did this guy have a Blue Pyramid around his neck?" Sean asked concerned which Korra noticed.
"How did you know that?" Amon asked.
"Thats not an Ancient! Thats!" Sean tried to say before everyone heard a dark laughter.
"I have remained in the shadows for too long."
"Who's there? Show yourself." Hiroshi said.
"I have been here the whole times mortals. Whispering in your ears."
"The whole time? No this is some trick." Amon said not seeing a shadow behind him and Hiroshi.
"LOOK OUT!" Sean yelled a pile of tar appeared behind them before it took form of a person making them look before Amon's head was grabbed.
"You have served me well, little worm. BUT NOW YOU HAVE OUTLIVED YOUR USEFULNESS!"
Amon was thrown into the wall out cold while Hiroshi looked in horror before he was blasted into a wall.
The person began to chant some ancient language as clothing appeared on him along with a blue Pyramid with a red jewel in the Center.
"So you're the one behind all this. Manipulating Amon and Hiroshi from the shadows. The Ancient Lord of the Dead. Anubis." Sean said looking at one who's evil rivaled Bakura.
"I am pleased you Know of me after all these years. Son of Atem. It will make my ultimate vengence all the sweeter. You will fall, and my reign of destruction shall begin." Anubis said.
Thats when Tenzin and his family were brought out along with Korra's parents.
"No." Korra said in shock.
"Leave them out of this." Sean said jumping to him. "This is between us." Sean said.
"Indeed it is. They were only the bait. For your power shall soon become mine." Anubis said before a bright light appeared above them before it took the shape of a blue glowing Pyramid locking them both in.
"Oh man." Korra said before she looked into the eye of it before she suddenly passed out before the same thing happened to Mako, Bolin and Asami.
Sean looked around before seeing he was trapped in the Pyramid before facing Anubis.
"What is this Magic?" Sean asked.
"One that I created myself to defeat your father a million years ago. And now you will face it's great power for yourself." Anubis said as Sean was struck by lightning making him roar in pain. "Without the aid of the Ancients you will not defeat me." Anubis said.
Meanwhile
Korra soon woke up with a groan before looking around seeing some strange maze that had dozens of doors.
"Wait a minute. I know this place. This is the inside of the puzzle. Why would I be in here?" Korra asked before Mana appeared before her.
"A piece of Anubis now resides within here. He's trying to drain Sean's power for himself like he tried with Atem so long ago. If he succeeds Zorc will be the least of your worries in years to come." Mana said.
"How do I stop him?" Korra asked.
"You must find the door in which Anubis resides in. Then you must destroy the relic he's using to drain him. That will allow us to return and help end him once and for all." Mana said before vanishing as Korra ran off.
Also inside the puzzle were Asami, Mako and Bolin
"Oh man what just happened?" Mako asked before Asami looked around seeing the inside of the puzzle.
"Better question is where are we?" Asami asked.
"I don't know." Bolin said before Yellow appeared.
"Your inside the puzzle." Yellow said.
"Sean's puzzle? Wow. Not what I was expecting." Asami said.
"It's like this because his memories are blocked. Korra's here too. Trying to find Anubis." Yellow said.
"Who is Anubis anyway?" Mako asked.
"He's a really bad guy. Just like Bakura." Yellow said.
"Well, we can see that. Where is he anyway?" Mako asked.
"Don't know. You'll have to look around every door you find." Yellow said.
"Lets go." Asami said as they ran off.
Korra was looking around the place before she noticed a stream of blue energy going to one room making her narrow her eyes before rushing in.
Thats when she found the room full of coffins before seeing the energy go to one special sarcophagus.
"The Avatar. Your era has come to an end." Anubis said.
"I know what you're doing Anubis. You're draining Sean's energy for yourself." Korra said.
"Indeed I am. The power of an Ancient is great but a human with Ancient power in his body has unlimited potential. But you will not interfere." Anubis said before the Coffins opened up before Mummies showed up making Korra freak before trying to bend them but nothing happened.
"Oh wait thats right. I'm outside my body. RUN!" Korra yelled running off as they chased her.
"Korra you there!" Mako yelled.
"Korra!" Bolin yelled before she ran right at them with a freaked out look.
"Whats..." Asami tried to ask but she ran right past them.
"TALK LATER! RUN NOW!" Korra yelled.
"Whats with her?" Mako asked before looking back seeing the Mummies run at them which freaked them out.
"ZOINKS!" Bolin yelled as they ran with her. (HAHAHAH! Never gets old)
Meanwhile
Sean panted in pain as he held his own against Anubis.
"How is it you survived for so long. Bakura I can understand. But you?" Sean asked.
"Bakura went into a state of suspended animation. While his body decayed for a time he still lived within waiting for your return. I on the other hand waited around for countless years so I may plan my revenge. And now you will taste my power." Anubis said before two pits of Tar appeared.
"Oh shit." Sean said before they took form.
"I summon Andro Sphinx and Sphinx Telia." Anubis said as they appeared before roaring at him.
"Ah shit." Sean said.
Meanwhile
Korra and the others ran away from the mummies till they were clear.
"I think we lost them." Korra said.
"Why didn't you take them out?" Mako asked.
"I can't bend or use magic here." Korra said before the Eye on the Pyramid showed them what was happening making her gasp.
"Uh guys." Bolin said seeing the Pyramid destroying Sean's puzzle down below.
"What is all this about?" Asami asked.
"Anubis wants to drain Sean of all his power for himself. My guess is he used Amon to drain the bending Energy of benders to regenerate himself. He used him for his own gains." Korra said.
"So Amon this whole time was an unknowing pawn without even realizing it." Mako said.
"Yeah along with everyone else. And he's the one who's stopping the Ancients from stepping in. We need to head back and destroy some relic he's using to drain him." Korra said.
"Aw man. We gotta go back?" Bolin whined.
"No choice." Korra said as they rushed back.
Arriving back at the tomb they saw the mummies were gone.
"So you return. Brave but foolish." Anubis said.
"What do you want anyway?" Asami asked.
"Behold the Future. For you will not live to see it for yourselves." Anubis said showing images of dark monsters attacking the world as it was. "Soon my creatures of destruction shall annihilate all life on Earth and not even the Ancients will be able to stop me. This world will soon be mine and mine alone." Anubis said.
"I don't think so." Korra said rushing to the Sarcophagus while Asami and the others took down the mummies that showed up.
Pushing the top off Korra looked around seeing it empty before finding a knife inside.
"I hope this works." Korra said throwing it at the the Relic that was draining him and chipped it. "Oh you can't be serious?" Korra asked in disbelief as a Mummy was about to attack her before it cracked apart and broke.
Meanwhile
Anubis growled as his Item started acting up while Sean felt some of his energy return.
'I don't know what just happened but I sense a weakness in this thing. Korra.' Sean thought holding his puzzle.
"All right lets end this nonsense now. I can still use powers of the Ancients themselves. And theres one who's power is more than enough to stop the likes of you." Sean said as his hands had a yellow glowing ball that got bigger before throwing up top on the Pyramid making it crumble apart.
"IMPOSSIBLE!" Anubis yelled as his monsters were also destroyed.
Korra and the others soon awoke back in their bodies before they saw the Pyramid crumble apart before coming down as Korra jumped down.
Sean stood where he was with a grin.
"I think I'll end things there with that nonsense out of the way." Sean said as he looked enraged.
"Your father tried and failed to destroy the Pyramid on his own. You alone even with your power could never make such a difference." Anubis said as Korra landed next to him.
"Who said I did it alone?" Sean asked making him growl.
"You may have destroyed the spell but not the Pyramid around my neck! Behold its power!" Anubus roared as a large amount of Tar appeared. "Inspired by the modern saying. TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE!" Anubus yelled as it turned into a combination of both monsters from before. "THEINEN THE GREAT SPHINX!" Anubis roared as it roared loudly at them.
"Oh boy." Korra said.
"And now, Pyramid of light feed this perfect beast with dead souls set free!" Anubis roared as a large amount of souls appeared from his item and Sean's puzzle before his beast began to grow.
"Oh man." Bolin whimpered as Mako and Asami freed Tenzin and his family and Korra's parents.
"Say hello Theinen." Anubis said as it roared loudly at them. "A million years ago, I never had the chance to summon Theinen to defeat your father. So I think it's best to introduce you two. Theinen meet the Son of Atem and Kruger Meet your doom!" Anubis roared laughing.
"We aren't strong enough to defeat something like that." Korra said.
"Us no but someone is. Ok Anubis if you want a fight you'll get one." Sean said as a portal opened up.
"Huh?" Anubis said.
"A little known fact I can summon one Ancient god who will only answer my call." Sean said as Exodia stepped out.
"ARGH!" Anubis roared in rage.
"Allow me to introduce Exodia the Forbidden one, one of the four strongest of the Ancient gods." Sean said as Exodia began powering up shocking him. "Exoida...OBLITERATE!" Sean roared as he unleashed a stream of great power destroying Theinen while also setting Anubis on fire.
"NOOO!" Anubis roared before collapsing.
"You did it." Korra said.
"We did it." Sean said as Anubis's body reduced to ash and his item destroyed save for the jewel.
Thats when they rushed to Amon.
"You all right?" Sean asked.
"Who was that?" Amon asked.
"That was Anubis. He used you from the very beginning. He had you drain a bender's power to revitalize him. He gave you that eye to earn your trust and so you would stay ahead of the others." Sean said making him sigh.
"I believed in what I was doing. But it was all for nothing." Amon said.
"Well...I wouldn't say that. If you just used that power on criminals the Ancients would let you continue." Sean said before they felt dark magic making them look seeing the jewel glow before Anubis's laughter was heard.
"Oh now what?" Korra asked before an explosion of dark magic was seen.
"Shadows take life. Creatures be born. Now let's see how well you play when you fight a real monster!" Anubis roared.
"Oh no." Sean said.
"I will not be denied my revenge after a million years. Now it is time to die!" Anubis yelled as he began taking form.
"Oh man this ain't good." Sean said as he tried to blast them but missed but some of the rubble hit Sean and Korra knocking them out as Senna and Tonraq rushed to them.
"NOTHING WILL STOP MY REVENGE! AND NOW THE END BEGINS!" Anubis roared as his back started blasting the ceiling making a hole before attacking the City making people cry out in horror as his attacks made buildings crumble falling on top of people as he laughed in satisfaction.
Hiroshi seeing all this had a look of horror on his face.
"Dad!" Asami yelled rushing to him.
"Stay close to me." Hiroshi said as Anubis began to take a new form again with wings before a giant blade came on his head.
"How are we supposed to take that down?" Asami asked before both Sean and Korra began to glow before two balls of energy came out.
"No Matter What Ancients you hold you can never stop me!" Anubis roared before a mighty roar was heard from the one that came out of Korra before a White Dragon with wings and seven colored Jewels appeared roaring at Anubis. "WHAT!" Anubis roared as it charged up before blasting him into a wall hard.
"Oh my." Senna said before the one from Sean began to take form showing a dragon with highly advanced technology on before it roared at Anubis.
"I WILL NOT BE DENIED MY REVENGE!" Anubis roared trying to blast it but a shield appeared blocking it before engulfing him. "NOOO!" Anubis roared as his body started to burn and melt.
Thats when other Ancients began to appear even God level ones seeing this great power in awe and respect.
Anubis started to melt before his mummified corpse remained speaking a few ancient words before melting away fully as the jewel broke apart before the dragons roared before returning to their respective hosts. (Incase people don't know Korra has the Rainbow dragon and Sean has the Blue eyes shinning dragon)
Later
Bumi's fleet arrived to help evacuate civilians from the destruction while the rest were on Air temple island.
"He's not coming back again is he?" Hiroshi asked concerned.
"Perhaps it's best if we find some more information on him to be on the safe side." Amon said.
"Ah don't bother. The guy is gone. No one could survive a defeat as humiliating as that. Well...No one but Sokka that is." Sean said making Tenzin chuckle in amusement.
"I'll give you credit for that one." Tenzin said amused making him laugh.
"Besides something tells me..." Sean tried to say before everyone got blasted down hard making Sean grunt before they heard Bakura laughing.
"A rather amusing display. And thankfully it exhausted all of you. Which means I can do this." Bakura said grabbing Amon before he screamed in pain as he took the eye from him before stabbing him in the chest making him gasp in shock. "Such a pathetic mortal you are. Thinking what? Without bending the world would be better? Hardly. You would only replace Bending wars with Technological wars. Nothing would change." Bakura said before vanishing as Amon died.
Sean growled before he groaned before passing out.
"Sean? Sean!" Korra yelled trying to wake him up but couldn't.
Later
Everyone was back at the South to have Katara look at Sean to see what was wrong.
Thats when she came out of the healing room.
"I've done everything I can but I can't wake him. Whatever is happening to him I don't know." Katara said.
"But you have to keep trying." Lin said.
"Theres nothing more I can do. Whatever is happening to him may just need to run its course." Katara said as Korra left.
"Let her go." Turok said.
Korra arrived at a cliff before sighing as she sat down before sensing someone behind her.
"Not now Tenzin. I just wanna be alone." Korra said.
"But you called me here."
Korra blinked before turning to face someone she was not expecting.
Atem.
"Atem." Korra said looking at Sean's father.
"Hello, Korra." Atem said.
"But...How are you here?" Korra asked.
"The Past Avatars aren't the only one you can communicate with." Atem said.
"I don't know whats wrong with Sean. He just passed out after Bakura showed up and killed Amon." Korra said.
"Theres nothing wrong with him at all. His powers are simply evolving." Atem said.
"Evolving?" Korra asked.
"Using the Ancient inside him has increased his power greatly. So his body shut down to adapt to this new power. It will pass in a few hours at best. It would have happened eventually anyway." Atem said before vanishing.
Later
Sean groaned as he stood up cracking his neck.
"How do you feel?" Senna asked.
"Lousy. Mostly pissed Bakura got one of the Seven Items and killed Amon. He attacked us when we were recovering like a coward." Sean said.
"Unfortunately yes. But clearly he doesn't know where the other Items are. And we know Shadi holds the Key while you have the Puzzle. Making sure two of the seven are out of his reach." Tenzin said.
After that Sean sat outside with Korra next to him.
"So what now?" Korra asked.
"We recover. I don't think theres any future for Republic City anymore though. No one is gonna move or stay in a place where over a million people were killed by a real monster like him in minute." Sean said making her sigh.
"Yeah. Unless the Ancients have something in mind." Korra said making him nod before they both dozed off to rest.
Authors Note: Wow this Chapter was full of excitement and action. Now Next Chapter I have something REALLY special planned out. But I'm gonna take a couple days off to relax before getting to it.
