Chapter 17 The Finals begin
Today was the day the finals would begin.
Right now Seto along with Mokuba And Sean were at the Kaibacorp dueling stadium that was where the Finalists would meet.
'My competition...If you can call them that, will be arriving shortly along with the two remaining Egyptain God Cards.' Seto thought.
Sean was looking at his cards before Mokuba looked at him.
"Hey Sean?" Mokuba asked.
"Yes?" Sean said.
"Out of all the Cards you made which one is your favorite?" Mokuba asked making him smirk.
"Oh thats easy." Sean said pulling out Exodia surprising him.
"Can't say I'm surprised." Seto said.
"Believe it or not but Exodia will only answer my call to battle. He's never really cared much for Humanity till I was born." Sean said.
"Because you're Half Ancient?" Mokuba asked.
"Bingo. I have a special connection to all the Ancients back home." Sean said.
Unknown to them however though was that Marik along with his Brother Odion were in the Stadium observing him.
'I must know more about Kruger before my plans begin. There is something very strange about him and the others he arrived with.' Marik thought.
Sean however sensed something before snarling.
"What is it?" Seto asked.
"Turn on the lights." Sean said.
"Lights?" Roland asked.
"Illuminate the Stadium right now!" Seto ordered.
"Uh right." Roland said pulling out a radio. "Turn the lights on." Roland said getting the lights on.
"What is it?" Mokuba asked.
"I know I sensed someone else here." Sean said looking around. "If I had a Beast type Ancient I could find that person." Sean said.
"No one should enter the stadium without first reporting to me." Seto said.
"Not to Worry Mr. Kaiba. We'll locate any and all trespassers." Roland said.
"Someone else is arriving." Seto said seeing new arrivals.
"There they are." Sean said seeing the others.
"The other Finalists. Joey, Yugi, Mai and Turok." Mokuba said.
"This is it? No offense Seto but I thought the finals would be in somewhere more...High tech." Korra said making him smirk.
"Oh it will. This is the just the meeting place." Seto said.
"Oh makes sense." Korra said as Fuguta handed out Tournament I.D.'s.
"Excited?" Sean asked making her grin.
"If this is anything like the Pro Bending leagues yeah." Korra said.
"Pro Bending?" Seto asked.
"It's a sport we have back home. And Korra,Mako and Bolin are the new Champs." Sean said.
"Really? You guys never mentioned that." Mai said.
"You didn't ask." Mako said.
"True." Joey said.
"I take it the old champions weren't happy." Seto said.
"They weren't actual Champions to begin with." Asami said.
"What do you mean?" Mokuba asked.
"They were nothing but flat out cheaters. Constantly broke the rules and bribed the Refs so they could win the championship pot just so they didn't need to work." Asami said making him smirk.
"I take it you don't approve of acts like that." Seto said.
"I think you know the answer already." Asami said grinning.
Sean and Korra looked at each other and grinned.
"I see a beautiful relationship in the future and it might mellow him out." Sean said making her giggle.
Thats when someone else arrived making them look.
The person in question was Marik but to Joey and Tea however they knew him as Namu since they didn't know who he really was.
"Wait a minute. I know you. You're Namu right?" Joey asked.
"You saved Bakura's life." Tea said making Sean widen his eyes before tightening his fists.
'Thats right. He said Bakura destroyed everything. I wonder if this Bakura is the Doubleganger of his?' Seto asked himself making some plans to keep them apart.
"Glad I could help. Wheres Bakura now?" Marik asked keeping up the nice guy act.
"I think he's still in the hospital." Tea said.
"Better be dead if you ask me." Sean said to Korra.
"Come on you don't even know if it's the same Bakura." Korra said making him sigh.
"Sean this is Namu. We met him shortly before we did you and the others." Tea said.
"Pleasure." Sean said shaking his hand.
"I've heard about you. You and your brother made it into the finals. But I don't think I've heard about you both till now." Marik said trying to get some information on him.
"Ah we're new to this whole thing. Seto has helped me out in the game and Turok was learning from Yugi's grandpa." Sean said.
"I see." Marik said.
Thats when someone else arrived and Sean widened his eyes seeing Bakura...Or rather his double.
"You have got to be fucking Kidding me." Sean said pissed off.
"Let me guess. This Bakura's doubleganger right?" Seto asked.
"Nearly identical minus the scars." Sean said.
"I'll tell my men to keep an eye on him to be on the safe side." Seto said.
"I'm surprised his double is even here. Tea and Joey just said he was in the hospital." Sean said.
"Thinking something is up?" Korra asked narrowing her eyes seeing him with a Duel disk and six locator cards.
"More than likely." Sean said before another showed up which turned to be Odion posing as Marik.
"State your name." Seto said.
"I am Marik." Odion said before Joey snapped.
"I'LL KICK YOUR BRAINWASHING ASS!" Joey said.
"So your the one who took control of Joey." Sean said.
"And what if I am?" Odion asked making him pull out his weapon which turned into Buster Blader's sword which surprised him.
"Stay the fuck away from the others if you know whats good for ya." Sean said.
"I should disqualify you right now for capturing my little brother Mokuba. But you have something I want. And before the finals are over your Egyptian God Card will be mine." Seto said glaring at him.
"Doesn't look like you have too many friends around here, tattoo face." Mokuba said making him scoff before walking off.
"The guy gives me the creeps worse than Tarrlok." Korra said.
"Thats debatable." Sean said.
"Alright, Can I have your attention please! Nine out of ten of you are here so now to it's time to announce that although your Locator cards led you here, this is not the site of the battle City Finals." Roland said.
"The Actual Tournament Arena will be arriving her shortly." Fugata said.
"Arriving?" Korra asked before a gust of wind got their attention before they saw Seto's blimp.
"Oh wow. You spare no expense do ya?" Sean asked making Seto smirk.
"Nope." Seto said as everyone was about to get on.
"Hold up. The tenth finalist isn't even here." Mako said.
"Oh I think that one will be here soon enough." Sean said as they got on.
After everyone boarded the Aircraft the tenth finalist got on.
Sean was in his room with Korra.
"Wow. Look at this. Just imagine what Republic City is gonna be like when we get back home." Korra said.
"Seto has plans to tear down the City and build a new one. I agree on that plan." Sean said getting a drink.
"Oh yeah?" Korra asked.
"Like I said before no one is going to move to a City where over a million people got killed. The legacy and image of Republic City will be forever tainted by that so no one will want to stay. The only way to get people back is to tear it down and build something new and better. And Seto agrees with me on that. And this game and others like it will be part of that plan to get people to move back and bring more people in." Sean said.
"Oh I get it." Korra said.
"So what do you think on this Double of Bakura?" Sean asked.
"I don't know. He seemed pretty friendly with Yugi and the others. Maybe he's not like the one we know at all." Korra said.
"Then why did they show such concern he was up and about after getting badly injured?" Sean asked.
"Good point." Korra said before the intercom turned on with Roland telling the finalists too meet up in the meeting room.
"Time to see what we got." Sean said as they walked out.
Arriving at the meeting room everyone was getting a bite to eat.
"Man I love this Earth." Bolin said eating to his heart's content.
"I hope you got enough to indulge him otherwise there won't be anything left." Sean said amused.
"Please. I doubt even he could eat all the food here." Seto said.
"You'd be surprised." Sean said before looking at Odion still thinking he was Marik.
'I know I said I would help Ishizu help her brother...But something feels off. He doesn't seem power hungry or anything. I wonder if theres something I'm missing?' Sean asked walking to the others.
Thats when Bakura accidentally bumped into him.
"Oh my apologies." Bakura said making him glare before walking past him.
"Whoa." Joey said.
"Did I offend him or something?" Bakura asked.
"I don't know. Hold up." Joey said following him. "Hey. What was that all about?" Joey asked.
"I know his doubleganger in my universe. He caused nothing but trouble back home." Sean said.
"Oh yeah? Hows that?" Joey asked.
"He's the one who unleashed Zorc the first time. And he's still alive in my universe causing trouble. So it's rather difficult to stay anywhere near him. Double or not." Sean said.
"I get it. But Bakura this one that is isn't like that. At least not when the Ring is around him." Joey said.
"Ring?" Sean asked.
"You know the Millennium Ring. Theres an Evil spirit in it that took control of him against his will. But Tristan chucked it so far into the forest at Duelist kingdom." Joey said making Sean narrow his eyes.
'I'm not so sure about that.' Sean thought.
"Hey, whats the holdup? When are we gonna find out who duels?" Joey asked.
"Hmm. You're in quite a rush to lose Wheeler." Seto said before snapping his fingers.
Thats when a Machine appeared with three Blue eyes heads and numbered balls inside the center of it.
"Let me guess? The numbers are picked at Random based on our Tournament cards right?" Sean asked.
"You figured that out pretty quick." Seto said.
"Just made sense." Sean said.
"That is correct. The Duelists will be selected at Random on who duels who. Remember the number you were given." Roland said.

"Let the selection begin." Roland said before the balls started bouncing around.
"Man this is kinda intense." Mako said.
"Depends on your point of view." Mai said before the first ball was pulled out.
"The first duelist is...Number 8 Bakura." Roland said surprising everyone.
"Me? I duel first?" Bakura asked.
"Hmph." Sean said before the next one was pulled out.
"The next Duelist is...Number 2 Sean Ashburn Kruger." Rolan said.
"Perfect." Sean said.
'Well, this should be interesting.' Seto thought.
Soon everyone made it to the top of the Blimp.
Thats when the dueling platform went up with Sean and Bakura on either side.
"Whoa. Dueling up here is insane." Joey said.
"And freezing." Serenity said before Turok placed his jacket over her. (I forgot to add he changed his looks wearing a Trench coat now)
"When you live in the Southern Water Tribe the cold hardly effects you." Turok said making her smile while Jinora frowned but the cold didn't bother her much either.
"I'll make this quick. We're dueling at 4,000 feet. The cold air and winds will make you think on your feet. If you can't stand it out here than you don't belong here." Seto said.
"The next time we hold finals it better not be in a fucking volcano." Sean said making Mokuba chuckle.
"I might actually do that to scare Wheeler." Seto said.
"HEY!" Joey yelled making everyone laugh.
"Like I said you two have issues." Sean said before frowning as he faced Bakura.
"Are you prepared to lose it all?" Bakura asked.
"You first. First why don't you tell me who you really are?" Sean asked making him chuckle before the Millennium Ring appeared on him. "So...Your the evil spirit of the Ring Joey told me about." Sean said making him laugh.
"Indeed. I am. Though I have my own questions about you. Such as why you have the Millennium Puzzle. I can easily tell it's no fake." Bakura said.
"None of your fucking business." Sean said making him glare.
"What are they babbling about?" Seto asked.
"From what I overheard this Bakura is possessed by a dark spirit in the Millennium Ring. Just like how Yugi's puzzle holds the spirit of his father's doubleganger only this one is evil." Tenzin said.
"Great. I wonder who the spirit is." Seto questioned.
"I have a pretty good idea." Tenzin said.
"I don't know what your up to but I can promise you won't win." Sean said.
"We shall see. Lets duel." Bakura said as both Life Points went up to 4000. "Allow me to start things off." Bakura said drawing his cards before grinning. "I play the portrait's secret in attack mode." Bakura said summoning a Portrait before a dark monster appeared from it.

"That was absolutely pathetic. My move. I summon Dark Blade in attack mode." Sean said summoning his monster that had dark armor on and two blades.

"This should be interesting." Seto said as Dark Blade destroyed Bakura's monster easily costing him 600 life points much to his annoyance.

"Go." Sean said making him growl.
"Very well. I play the Gross Ghost of Fled dreams in Attack mode." Bakura said summoning his disgusting creature.

"Oh go fuck yourself. I don't know what your up to but it's still weaker than my Dark Blade." Sean said drawing his next card. "I summon Magician Valkyria in Attack Mode." Sean said as his Monster appeared twirling her weapon.

"Dark blade attack." Sean said as he slashed Bakura monster making him lost 500 more life points. "And now my Magician will attack you directly." Sean said making him grunt as she blasted him.

Bakura growled seeing Sean had a major lead.
"My turn and first I play the Magic card Dark Door which means that..." Bakura tried to say.
"Do you ever shut up?" Sean asked making him growl. "I know what it means. Now I can only attack with one monster per turn. The kind of Card I would expect you to have." Sean said making him chuckle.
"Seems you know a bit about me. I didn't realize I had such a fan. If you wanted my autograph you should have asked." Bakura said mocking him.
"You make me sick." Sean said pissed off.
"What did I do?" Bakura asked annoyed.
"You in this universe nothing. It's your doubleganger I have issues with." Sean said confusing him.
"Double Ganger? Whats he talking about?" Marik asked.
"Namu...It's complicated." Tea said.
"Short version being me and the others aren't from this universe." Turok said shocking him. "We ended up here because Tenzin's son Meelo the fucking dumbass screwed up a Teleportation spell because he said the runes on it looked ugly because he doesn't have a brain." Turok said making Tenzin's eyes twitch at that.
"Sadly I think he's right on that part." Jinora said.
"Thank you." Turok said making her smile.
"In our universe we don't have Duel monster cards. Rather they're actually real called Ancients. Virtually almost Every monster card here is an Ancient in our world." Tenzin said shocking him further.
'That explains all these powers they have and why Kruger has a Millennium Item around him. How very interesting. Once I drain the Pharaoh of all his powers I will rule both worlds.' Marik thought laughing.
"So your from another universe. I suppose that explains a lot. But regardless what issues you have with my double...You won't defeat the likes of me." Bakura said.
"We'll see about that. It's your move." Sean said.
"Very well. I summon the headless knight in attack mode." Bakura said before a mist covered the field.
"I don't see anything." Sean said.
"Thats because he's a spirit." Bakura said before he slowly appeared.

"I don't know what you're up to since this is still a royally weak monster." Sean said before ordering his Dark blade to attack making him lose 350 life points.

"Sean's got a pretty big league." Mokuba said.
"Something isn't right though." Seto said knowing something was up.
Thats when Bakura started laughing.
"Now what?" Sean asked annoyed.
"You've done exactly what I wanted you to do. I needed to have three monsters in my graveyard So I could summon this." Bakura said playing some monster known as Dark Necrofear as it appeared looking like some kind of doll.

"I knew you were up to something." Sean said.
"It doesn't matter. You still fell into my trap, And now you're about to pay the ultimate price." Bakura said ending his turn.
'Now why didn't he attack me? He's up to something.' Sean thought.
"Make your move." Bakura said.
"When I want to." Sean said drawing his next Card and smirked. "I sacrifice my Dark Blade and Magician Valkyria to summon my Tri Horned Dragon." Sean said as his favorite monster appeared and roared loudly at Bakura.

"All right. He's just played his favorite Card." Joey said while Bakura frowned.
"Tri Horned Dragon. Attack!" Sean ordered as his dragon destroyed Bakura's monster leaving him with only a hundred life points left.
Thats when Bakura started laughing again.
"What are you? A broken record?" Sean asked.
"You've fallen directly into my trap once more. Destroying my Necrofear allowed me to play this." Bakura placing a card in his field section. "Dark Sanctuary" Bakura said as a shroud of evil appeared on the field before eyes and mouths appeared.
"Ok thats creepy." Sean said.
"Whoa what the hell?" Korra said looking at the eyes and shuddered.
"You've done exactly what I wanted you to do. And now the field is covered with a magic so terrifying, you'll be in a constant state of fear." Bakura said but Sean just yawned.
"Sorry you say something?" Sean asked making him growl annoyed while the others just laughed.
"Nice one." Reznov said.
"Oh brother." Seto said.
"Just because you got some scary looking spell on the field doesn't mean you've won. Now make your move." Sean said.
"With pleasure." Bakura said drawing his card and smirked. "I play a monster and then sacrifice it to keep my sanctuary in play." Bakura said as his monster vanished.
"Whatever." Sean said drawing his card before looking at his hand. 'I got two pieces of Exodia and three trap cards and A pot of Greed. I doubt attacking him directly is a good idea since he clearly played this card for a reason. But to be on the safe side.' Sean thought. "I play Pot of Greed which lets me draw two cards." Sean said drawing two cards before looking at them. "I play Sinister Serpent In attack mode." Sean said as it appeared.

"Next I'll attack you with Tri Horned Dragon." Sean said as his dragon charged at him.
Only for Some Ghost to come out of it.
"What the?" Sean yelled before he was hit making him groan.
"Whoa what just happened?" Korra asked in alarm.
"If I had to guess this Sanctuary comes with a few tricks." Seto said.
"GRRR!" Sean growled while Bakura laughed.
"How Satisfying." Bakura said.
"The fuck did you do?" Sean asked.
"Me? Nothing. Its the effects of my Dark Sanctuary. It allows me to posses one of your monsters and if you attack with that monster you get attacked losing half of your monster's attack points through your life points while I gain what was lost." Bakura said making him growl.

"And Since I can only attack with one monster per turn I can't do anything else. You'll pay for that you fuck." Sean said ending his turn.
"Oh I very much doubt it. For now I sacrifice Sangan and then play destiny board." Bakura said playing his Destiny board.
"What the hell is that?" Sean asked.
"Think of it as a version of Exodia if you will. But instead of having to draw all five cards this card allows me to play one of the five per turn in specific order. Once all five are on the field you will automatically lose." Bakura said making him glare.
'Sean's in a real tough spot right now. He knows he can't attack or he may end up losing more life points but at the same time he can't not attack because he'll lose in four more turns anyway.' Yugi thought.
'Yes. But if his cards are based off these ancients he may have a chance.
"I play a card face down and end my turn." Bakura said.
Sean growled as he drew his next card.
"I sacrifice my Sinister Serpent and play this. Beast of Talwar." Sean said summoning his fiend type monster.

"Is that all you can do?" Bakura asked making him growl.
"As much as I know this might be a mistake I can't afford not to not attack. Beast of Talwar attack." Sean said having his monster attack making Bakura laugh.
"I knew you would try that. I activate Dark Spirit of the Silent. This allows me to activate the ghost inside one of the two. And since it's in your dragon again It'll attack you once more." Bakura said.
"NO!" Sean yelled as he was attacked again making him growl.
"You fucking piece of shit!" Sean said annoyed.
"Oh man. He just lost more life points again." Joey said.
"And Bakura gained more as well." Asami said.

Bakura laughed at this as he had Sean in a corner now.
"You might as well accept defeat Kruger. You can't win against me in this universe. I play another card face down and sacrifice another monster." Bakura said as another letter appeared.
Sean drew a card and growled seeing it wouldn't help him either.
"I play three cards face down and end my turn." Sean said.
'Not much else he can do. He's backed into a corner.' Seto thought.
"I thought as much. Now like before I sacrifice a monster and another letter appears on the board." Bakura said.
'Theres not much else I can do. If I don't draw the right card or something I'm gonna lose this.' Sean thought.
"Sean!" Yami said gaining his attention. "You can still win this. All you need to do is have faith in the heart of the cards." Yami said.
'Hmm.' Sean said looking at his deck. 'I've always had my faith in the Ancients. And they are part of this deck. I guess it's time to have faith in something new.' Sean thought placing his hand on the deck.
"Prepare to experience the power of an Ancient God." Sean said confusing Bakura.
"If he's about to summon a powerful Ancient he may have a chance at this." Seto said as Sean drew his card before a strike of lighting hit the field making Bakura yell in shock as Sean grinned.
"I sacrifice my three Trap cards to special summon one of the Legendary Sacred beasts. Uria Lord of Searing flames." Sean said as an Inferno of Flames appeared behind him shocking everyone who was new to this type of Ancient as it roared loudly at Bakura.
"What is that?" Bakura asked in Shock.
"This is a God Level Ancient known as Uria one of the Strongest of the Ancients. And you're through. First I activate one of the special abilities Uria has which allows me to destroy one card on your side of the Field. And I Choose your face down card." Sean said as it flipped up revealing another Dark Spirit of the Silent before it was destroyed making Bakura growl.

"And another thing similar to how Slifer gains attack points for every card in your hand Uria gains attack points for every trap card in my graveyard." Sean said making him growl.
"Your monster may be powerful but it does not mean you've won. My Ghost will simply posses it." Bakura said as it moved towards the Ancient God but vanished. "What happened? It didn't posses it." Bakura said.
"Like the Egyptian Gods my Ancient gods are invulnerable to All Magic, Trap and Monster Effects." Sean said shocking him. "Now lets put you in your fucking place you prick. Uria attack with Searing flames!" Sean ordered as Uria's mouth powered up before blasting Bakura with intense flames.
"AHHHHHHH!" Bakura roared in pain as he was defeated by Uria before falling over making Sean scoff.
"I win." Sean said.
"The Winner of the First Match is Sean Ashburn Kruger." Roland said making everyone cheer as the platform came down.
"Nice going." Korra said hugging him making him chuckle.
"What can I say. I had a new faith." Sean said making Yugi smile.
"That was an awesome duel." Joey said.
"That was about as intense as a real fight." Sean said.
Later
"So let me get this straight. Theres an evil spirit inside the ring controlling him?" Seto asked looking at Bakura's unconscious form.
"Well...I can't say I'm surprised. If I had to guess it's probably Zorc inside that Ring. The one from this universe." Sean said.
"So theres two of them?" Tea asked.
"Maybe. I don't know the full history of this universe." Sean said.
"There was a time before you showed up I never believed in magic or anything like this. But seeing the things you did when you showed up nothing surprises me anymore." Seto said.
"Oh yeah?" Sean asked.
"Yeah he was real stubborn." Joey said.
"Don't you have someone else to annoy Monkey boy?" Seto asked making him growl.
'MONKEY! WHO'S HE CALLING A MONKEY!' Joey yelled
"Oh for the love of." Sean said.
"The next duel will begin in 15 minutes." Seto said.
"What about Bakura?" Yugi asked.
"I'll have medical check on him." Seto said leaving as did Sean and Mokuba.
"I kinda feel like an ass now for putting him in this situation." Sean said.
"He was already injured to begin with if this Spirit hadn't taken control. All you did was knock him out." Seto said.
"Yeah. I'll be in my room." Sean said walking off.
"That Sacred beast card was amazing. It looked almost like Slifer." Mokuba said.
"It did. And that was only one of the three. Hamon and Raviel have yet to be used. And I look forward to seeing them in action." Seto said.
Sean sighed as he laid on his bed before Korra walked in.
"You ok?" Korra asked sitting next to him.
"Yeah just tired. That duel drained me a little." Sean said making her nod.
"Yeah. You had everyone on edge. I saw Tea chewing her nails when you started to lose." Korra said grinning.
"Your point?" Sean asked confused.
"Is there something you wanna tell me?" Korra asked.
"Uh no. If your suggesting something happened..." Sean said.
"I know nothing happened you're not the cheater type. I'm asking does she have feelings for you since you saved her life twice." Korra said.
"Maybe. Things like that develop feelings for people. You know that." Sean said.
"True." Korra said about to Leave.
"What are you up to?" Sean asked.
"Oh Nothing." Korra said leaving.
"Oh fucking hell." Sean said resting.
