Chapter 24 Guardian vs King of Games
Sean and the others rushed to the very top of the Tower before they came to a stop.
"Whoo. What a rush." Sean said shaking his head before looking at Yami and smirked. "I had a feeling we'd be dueling soon enough." Sean said making him grin.
"Don't expect things to be easy." Yami said while Marik chuckled getting their attention.
"Something you wanna fucking say?" Sean asked.
"At one point I was after the Pharaoh's power to take for myself. But now I want to see which is greater. His or yours. Whoever Wins I plan to defeat and drain that power for myself." Marik said before groaning as Sean punched him in the stomach making him kneel.
"Even if somehow you could take my power it wouldn't work. Power like mine can only be used for good." Sean said making him growl.
"We'll see about that." Marik said walking away.
"I take it your power has some safe guards to prevent it from being used by people like him." Yami said.
"The Ancients are always prepared." Sean said as the others rushed up.
"We miss anything?" Tristan asked.
"No." Sean said.
"Besides Marik being a pain as usual." Joey said.
"Ignore him." Sean said before using his magic to select the cards in his deck before it finished.
"I wonder what kind of cards he's gonna use now." Mokuba said.
"I have a pretty good feeling." Seto said.
"Now for the first round of the Finals to begin. Sean Ashburn Kruger vs Yugi Muto. The winner of this round will face Mr. Kaiba." Roland said.
"Yeah, yeah." Sean said as they stood at the end of each side of the Arena.
"You know this is gonna be really intense." Joey said.
"How so?" Asami asked.
"Both of them are really good. Yugi's been at this for years and has beaten some really powerful duelists like Kaiba, Pegasus and Bakura. Sean's only been at this for a week and already he's gotten pretty good." Joey said.
"Thats what happens when he learns from a pro unlike you." Seto making him growl ticked off at that comment.
"You know technically Sean and the doubleganger inside the puzzle are a lot alike." Jinora said.
"How do you figure that?" Tristan asked.
"Both of them don't remember much about their pasts. Him being the spirt of the millennium puzzle in this universe while Sean's memories are blocked because of events in his past." Tenzin said.
"True. And who knows if similar events happened in the spirit's past as well." Korra said.
"Lets duel!" Both said as the life point counter went up to 4000.
"I'll start things off." Sean said drawing his cards before grinning. "First I play a field spell I created when I first showed up." Sean said.
"Field spell?" Yami asked.
"I play Gift of Sanctity." Sean said as a hologram of a treasure chamber appeared.
"What does this card do?" Yami asked.
"Heres how it works. Every turn we're allowed to draw until we both have six cards in our hands." Sean said.
'Why would Sean play that? He knows Slifer gains attack points for every card in our hands.' Yugi said.
'Perhaps it's all part of his strategy. He's proven he plans things in advance for a good reason.' Yami said.
"And now I play this monster card in defense mode." Sean said ending his turn.
"My move." Yami said drawing his cards. "I summon Big Shield Gardna in Defense mode." Yami said as he appeared.

"And next I'll play this Trap card Light of intervention. Now we can no longer play our monsters face down." Yami said as Sean's monster was revealed to be a Kuriboh. "Kuriboh?" Yami asked surprised.
"What is that pathetic thing doing in his deck?" Seto asked.
"I'm surprised you have that." Yami said.
"Surprising as this may sound this little guy is my buddy back home. Never leaves my side. He may be little but he's not worthless." Sean said making him smile. 'Speaking of whom I wonder how the little guy is doing back home?' Sean asked himself.
"I'll end my turn." Yami said.
"My go." Sean said drawing till he had six cards. "Hmm. I sacrifice my Kuriboh to summon my Cyber Dragon." Sean said as Kuriboh vanished before his Dragon appeared and roared.

'I remember how difficult this one was last duel. Cyber Dragon is a powerful monster and if he has another he'll summon that Twin headed version.' Yami said.
'Yeah but not if we destroy it first.' Yugi said.
"Next I play the magic card Painful choice." Sean said.
"Painful choice?" Korra asked.
"It allows him to select five cards from his deck and Yugi has to pick one of them to keep while the rest go to the Graveyard." Seto said.
"Very Well. Lets see what cards you picked." Yami said before widening his eyes seeing four Exodia pieces the arms and legs while a Magic card was also there.
"Look familiar?" Sean asked.
'Wait? Why would he do that? Now he'll lose his best chance of winning.' Yugi said.
'He's up to something but I think it's better to be safe than sorry.' Yami said. "I'll let you keep the Magic Card. Power Bond." Yami said making him smirk as the rest went to the graveyard.
"I was hoping you'd pick that one." Sean said.
"You were?" Yami asked.
"Of course. Now I Place two cards face down and end my turn." Sean said.
"He just tossed out his best cards like it was nothing. Why?" Mokuba asked.
'Sean's no fool. He knows Exodia is the best key to winning any duel. Not to mention his bond with him. He's up to something. And I bet that Power Bond Magic card is part of his plan. Whatever it is will help him win the duel in the end.' Seto said.
"Now then." Sean said playing a new magic Card. "I play Different dimension capsule. This lets me select one card in the capsule and after my second standby phase I can take that card." Sean said. "Finally I play this trap card. Attack Reflector unit. This lets me sacrifice my Cyber Dragon to Special Cyber Barrier Dragon." Sean said as his new Dragon appeared.

"I don't get it. Why would Sean sacrifice a monster with 2100 attack points with one who's only 800?" Joey asked.
"I think I know." Korra said.
"It's my move. I summon my Queen's knight in attack mode." Yami said as she appeared.

"Now attack!" Yami ordered as his new monster went on the attack only for a barrier to block the attack. "What?" Yami asked shocked.
"You didn't think the name was just for kicks did ya? My Dragon created a barrier that blocks your attack." Sean said.
"I end my turn." Yami said.
"My turn. And first I play call of the Haunted to bring back my Cyber Dragon. Then I play cost down to help me summon another. Finally I play the Magic Card Photon Generator Unit. This lets me sacrifice my two Cyber Dragons to summon Cyber Laser Dragon." Sean said as it appeared.

"Now destroy Big Shield Gardna." Sean said as his monster destroyed his Greatest Defense.
"But how. Big Shield Gardna had more defense points." Yami said.
"My Dragon can destroy any monster if the attack or defense points are greater than his. And thats just his special ability. Now comes his attack. Destroy Queen's knight." Sean ordered before his dragon destroyed his Queen making Yami grunt as he lost 900 life points. "Now My Barrier Dragon can attack you directly." Sean said as his barrier Dragon went in for the attack making him groan.

"Oh man. Yugi lost almost half his life points because of that attack." Duke said.
"These Ancients are insane." Joey said.
'Thats the kind of power they have. Both in real life and in the game. And these are high level ones at that.' Seto said grinning.
"My move." Yami said drawing his card and grins. "I play my magic Card Monster Reborn to bring back my Queen's knight. And then I play my King's knight." Yami said as they appeared.

"Wait a minute here." Sean said.
"Thats right. I have both King and Queen and when both of them are on the field. I can summon my Jack's knight." Yami said as he appeared.

"Now my King's knight destroy his barrier Dragon." Yami ordered as his dragon went in for the kill but the barrier activated.
"Did you forget about my barrier?" Sean asked making him chuckle.
"I haven't forgotten Sean. Clearly it can only be activated once. Now My Queen's knight attack." Yami ordered as his barrier dragon was destroyed and Sean lost 700 life points. "And Now I activate the Magic Card Rush Recklessly. It raises my attack points by 700 for my Jack's knight. Which makes it 200 points stronger than yours." Yami said as his monster was destroyed.

"All right. He took down those dragons like it was nothing." Joey cheered.
"Don't celebrate so easily as usual Wheeler. Sean's still got plenty of tricks up his sleeve." Seto said.
"I place one card face down. Make your move." Yami said making Sean nod.
Sean touched the next card on his deck before a Jolt of electricity flew through him making him pick up his card and grins.
"I place three spell cards face down." Sean said.
"Wait a second. I remember the last time he did something like this." Tea said.
"I sacrifice my three Spell cards to summon the second Sacred beast. Hamon! Lord of Striking Thunder." Sean said as his next monster appeared and roared loudly.

"Whoa! That thing is huge!" Joey said.
Marik saw all this and chuckled.
"Soon the power of the ancients will be mine." Marik said.
"Yet another God Level Ancient has been revealed." Ishizu said observing this.
Yami narrowed his eyes seeing this monster that rivaled an Egyptian God.
"Now attack his queen's knight." Sean said as Hamon roared loudly at Yami before lightning began to rain down.
"Not so fast. I activate the Regulation of Tribe. This prevents your monster from attacking mine for one turn." Yami said making the attack stop.
"HMPH! Normally Traps and Magic Cards don't work on them. This one just prevents him from attacking for now." Sean said placing one card face down.
"My turn." Yami said drawing his card and smirked. "You may end up regretting placing that field spell now." Yami said.
"Hmm?" Sean asked confused.
"I sacrifice my three monsters to summon my Egyptian God Card. Slifer the Sky Dragon!" Yami said as all three vanished before Slifer appeared and roared loudly at Hamon.

"And thanks to your Field Spell I have more than enough cards to finish you off. Slifer attack!" Yami ordered as his monster destroyed his making Sean groan.

"There goes his Sacred beast. I told you Yugi's got this in the bag!" Joey said with that weird chin look on his face.
"It's not over yet. Hamon was just one of the sacred beasts. Theres two more in his deck." Seto said.
"I don't see him coming back against an Egyptian God card." Mai said.
"Tell me this Yami why are you so determined to win this duel anyway?" Sean asked.
"It's my destiny to win. For the Fate of the world." Yami said.
"Oh not this again. I thought Seto's duel made it clear theres no such thing as Destiny. Theres chance and the choices we make. Nothing more or less." Sean said.
"Perhaps but some things are meant to happen for a reason. Even you know that. Just as you and the others were meant to come here. Nothing happens fully by Chance. Some things are meant to happen. Seto's past life was the keeper of the Blue Eyes and yet here he stands again with three of them. Yugi was meant to Solve the Puzzle which released my spirit. Some things don't happen fully by chance." Yami said.
"In some ways yes. But that doesn't mean you should dictate your life because of things you see. Korra's uncle does that and he's the biggest prick you'll ever meet in my world." Sean said.
"You never mentioned you had an uncle." Tea said.
"He's not worth talking about. When Sean was unfrozen a month later he tried to take him by force but the Ancients prevented that. Then he tried again when he came back but his mother prevented that as well." Korra said making Seto frown thinking of his step father.
"Whatever happens in this duel happens." Sean said drawing his next card before the Capsule appeared.
"The Capsule." Yami said.
"Thats right and now I play my Cyber Dragon." Sean said as it appeared. "Next I play soul release to remove the other two before playing Return from the different dimension. Costing half my life points to summon them all." Sean said.
"Don't forget my dragon's power. Your monster's lose 2000 attack points whenever they are summoned." Yami said as Slifer blasted them making them weaker.
"Oh I'm not too worried. I play the Magic Card Power Bond. This allows me to fuse my three Machines into a new God Level Ancient. Cyber End Dragon." Sean said as a massive Ancient with three heads appeared.

"But my dragon weakens it by half." Yami said as Cyber End Dragon was weakened by half. "Sorry Sean but your plan didn't work." Yami said making him laugh which unnerved him. "What exactly is so funny?" Yami asked.
"You might wanna take a closer look." Sean said as his Dragon now had 6000 Attack points.
"What! But How?" Yami asked.
"My Power Bond doesn't just fuse my machines together. It doubles their attack points. And since it was originally 4000." Sean said.
"It went up to 8000 but lost the 2000 because of Slifer." Yami said.
"Hey hold up! Theres gotta be some drawback!" Joey said.
"True enough. At the beginning of my next turn I lose the life points of its original attack points. But I'm not too worried. I play the card from the Capsule. Limiter Removal." Sean said as his Dragon went from 6000 to 12000.
"Oh no!" Yami said.
"Now for my final card. Quick attack." Sean said as his dragon powered up. "This is the power of the Ancients! Now Cyber End Dragon End this Duel!" Sean said as Cyber End Dragon blasted Silfer into nothing and Yami groaned as he lost all his life points before falling to his knees.
Everyone was shocked by this.
"I don't believe this. Yugi actually lost." Joey said in disbelief.
Seto however smirked.
'These Ancients continue to impress me at every turn. Every God Level Ancient comes in all kinds of forms. Even Machines. And theres one more Sacred beast I've yet to see. And I'm sure I'll get that chance in our duel.' Seto said already making plans.
Yami was still on his knees.
"I lost." Yami said while Sean laughed. Not the more arrogant kind like Seto would let out but a more friendly kind as he stood over him.
"That was actually a fun duel. You really live up to your title." Sean said offering a hand making him look up before smiling as he took it pulling him up.
"Perhaps you were right. There is no such thing as Destiny." Yami said.
"Yami, I learned a long time ago that we make our own paths and not listen to those who try to lay them out for us. Its the most human thing we can do." Sean said before Marik started laughing making him growl. "The fuck are you laughing about now?" Sean asked.
"I told you whoever won this duel I would be focusing the most on. Seeing as how you won with your Ancients my focus is directed on you. So you best beware of the danger that looms in your future, Kruger. For soon your power will be mine while you wander the Shadows for all Eternity." Marik said.
"Do you ever shut up?" Seto asked.
"Hmph! Soon enough I'll have everything that I need to rule this world and the rest of the Multiverse." Marik said walking away.
"That guy is deranged beyond words." Turok said.
"No shit." Reznov said.
"I doubt he could every conquer the Ancient gods even if he had that kind of power." Julia said.
"Speaking of Gods." Yami said taking out his Slifer. "I know you already have the ancient version but having the Egyptian version will help." Yami said as Sean took it.
"One can only hope." Sean said as they dispersed for the next duel in an hour.
"I hope you enjoy that title you just got. Because soon it's going to be mine." Seto said grinning making Sean smirk.
"We'll see about that. The main problem we gotta worry about is defeating the Winged Dragon of Ra. Obviously like the Ancient Version it's the most powerful." Sean said.
"I already have a solution. While you and everyone else were asleep I found the one card that can defeat Ra." Seto said.
"Oh yeah?" Sean asked.
"It's a rare card thats just as difficult to find as a piece of Exodia. And its the one card that has the highest chance of defeating him." Seto said.
"Lets hope so. Because if Marik somehow wins...We're in trouble." Sean said.
Authors Note: And with that Sean is now the new King of Games and has won the Egyptian version of Slifer. Now things take a dramatic turn.
