Chapter 34 Rebel Spirit

Its been three months since Sean married Korra, Tea and Ishizu.

And in that time things had greatly changed.

New Paradise City was in full swing with the games it had created bringing back millions of people from both this universe and the other.

And now a President had been put into office known as Raiko putting into effect the test to prove one man can never have all that power like Titan Sean had suggested.

And some of the group had changed as well.

Mako had gotten a job in the police and was really good at his job.

Asami had taken full control of her company that was now shared by Kaibacorp after her father stepped down for Retirement.

Of course Yugi and his friends were still in school till they graduated.

And Tenzin's brother Bumi retired from the united forces now known as the Universal defense force.

Now however though.

Sean smiled watching Korra race the airbending kids on air scooters.

Thats when Korra went into the Avatar state making her pass Ikki and passed the finish line.

"The Avatar is the Winner!" Bumi yelled.

Korra deactivated the Avatar state before facing her husband.

"So wheres my prize?" Korra asked making him shake his head before kissing her.

"If thats the prize I wonder what the reward is." Tea said making him chuckle.

Thats when Ikki ran up to them with a pout on her face.

"No fair! You can't go into the Avatar state to win!" Ikki yelled making her stick her tongue out.

"You did what?" Tenzin asked walking to them.

"Oh fucking hell." Sean said.

"The Avatar State is not to be used as a booster rocket. You are toying with a dangerous power that you obviously do not appreciate." Tenzin said.

"Oh come on." Sean said.

"It's the Avatar State, And I'm the Avatar. Who appreciates more than me?" Korra asked. "Besides it was one little thing and nothing more." Korra said.

"Clearly, you need more training to grasp the depths of your spiritual connections, not to mention that you're still a long way from mastering airbending." Tenzin said.

"What do you call this?" Korra asked before showing great skills in said bending. "See? Mastered." Korra said.

"I don't see any problems in it." Joey said.

"Looks pretty good to me." Bumi said making Tenzin sigh.

"Is it too late for you to un-retire from the united forces?" Tenzin asked if not begged.

"The paperwork's gone through, little brother. From now on, It's 24/7 Bumi time!" Bumi said grabbing his face making him sigh.

"I agree with Korra on this one. She has come a long way since Mahad trained her before we came to Republic City." Sean said.

"Perhaps. But extra training is never a bad idea." Tenzin said.

"Besides now that the Ancients are back the world doesn't need me as much." Korra said.

"True but there will still be threats out there as long as Bakura continues to serve Zorc." Tenzin said.

"The only thing we currently have to do is see if this president we let into office is power hungry or not." Sean said.

"True. And now that the old council is gone I can give Korra the attention she needs to master her spiritual connection and relax a bit more." Tenzin said as she held Sean and the others.

"I'd rather have this kind of attention." Korra said making them smile.

"HA! Relax. I'd pay money to see that. Maybe I'll tag along just to see Vacation Tenzin." Bumi said.

"Your not invited." Tenzin said.

"Before we go on your dad's study trip, we're going to have some real fun in our hometown at the glacier spirits festival. They've got rides, Games, and all kinds of fried food on sticks." Korra said making the kids cheer.

"Another festival?" Tristan asked.

"The Water Tribe has a few every year." Sean said.

Later

Everyone was on a ship heading to the South.

Korra smiled as they were in a room looking at the ocean.

"Enjoying the sights?" Sean asked sitting next to her.

"Reminds me of the day when we left the South for Republic City. Hard to believe whats happened since last year." Korra said.

"Mmm." Sean said holding her close. "I think everything worked out perfectly fine in the end." Sean said making her smile.

Next day

The ship soon arrived at the southern tribe docks where a large number of people were waiting.

"Gran-Gran!" The Airbending kids said to their grandmother who laughed.

"Oh, you've all gotten so big." Katara said before Jinora hugged her aunt Kya.

"We missed you, aunt Kya." Jinora said making her laugh.

"Oh, I missed you too." Kya said as Tenzin and Bumi walked to them. "Your father doesn't bring you around nearly enough. He's probably scared I'll beat him up like when we were kids." Kya said lightly punching his shoulder.

"I'm not scared of you...Anymore." Tenzin said making most laugh.

Korra laughed as she hugged her mother.

"I hope you having been enjoying your marriage." Senna said making her smile looking at Sean and the others.

"Oh more than you think." Korra said.

"Whats with all the people? Are they here for us?" Joey asked.

"You seriously think they'd come for you?" Seto asked making him growl.

"Regretfully no. They came for them." Sean said pointing to a Northern Water Tribe ship docking.

"Oh Gee. As if I don't know who this is." Joey said.

"The greet chief of the Northern Water Tribe comes to grace us with his arrogance. Fucking perfect." Sean said annoyed.

"Just relax Sean. He'll be gone soon enough."Ishizu said.

"Not soon enough." Sean said as Unalaq walked off along with two teenagers who were clearly twins.

"Who are the lovely ladies?" Bolin asked making Sean roll his eyes.

"Eska and Desna. Korra's ugly ass cousins...Desna is a guy by the way." Sean said making him widen his eyes.

"Uh...Which one is Desna?" Bolin asked.

"I'm surprised he even has kids." Seto said as he walked to them.

"Good to see you again Avatar Korra." Unalaq said.

"Screw off." Korra said.

"I guess your still holding a grudge. I was only doing what I believed was best for your husband." Unalaq said.

"Bullshit." Sean said as they walked off.

Everyone soon arrived at the festival.

"It's a shame the southerners have abandoned all connections to the spirits, even during the most hallowed times." Unalaq said.

"I've always loved the glacier spirits festival. Sean and I always came here when we were little kids." Korra said making Sean chuckle remembering that.

"This festival used to be a solemn time of fasting and meditation. Now it's just a chance to watch some rube try to stick an entire arctic hen in his mouth." Unalaq said as they watched Bolin do just that.

"I need more female friends" Tea said making Sean and the others laugh.

"Traditions change. It's not the end of the world." Tonraq said.

"Add to the fact that the old ways are coming back these modern traditions will be eventually forgotten." Sean said making him frown.

"Tell that to the sailors who are being attacked by angry spirits in southern waters. Some traditions have purpose." Unalaq said.

"Wait, Spirits are attacking ships?" Korra asked making him nod.

"I'm surprised the Avatar doesn't know about that. Apparently you haven't been given all the information you need. Or perhaps you've been distracted by this new City to the point you've forgotten your responsibilities." Unalaq said.

"Fuck off." Sean said.

"This is news to all of us." Turok said.

"So you say but it would be my honor to teach you both." Unalaq said.

"No." They both said.

"Like we're going to be trained by a guy who's cruel and vile to everyone he views as imperfect." Sean said.

"I am not cruel to anyone. You may have that view of me but I am right about how the world works." Unalaq said walking away.

"That guy pisses me off." Joey said.

"Believe me we know the feeling." Korra said.

Later

After a while everyone was at the dining hall

"This is a wonderful feast in your honor, Uncle." Korra said.

"This is nothing. When this festival was founded, the tribal elders would commune with the spirits. People would watch the brilliant displays of light as spirits danced in the sky." Unalaq said.

"Wow. I've never seen that." Korra said.

"And that is a shame, since the Avatar is the bridge between the material world and the spirits. That is why I want so badly to teach you both, to help you fulfill your destiny." Unalaq said.

"Answer is no. We'd rather receive training from the former White Lotus than you." Sean said making him frown.

"Every Avatar before you traveled the world to learn what they did. It was your father and Tenzin who kept you both secluded in the South." Unalaq said making Tonraq frown knowing what he was doing.

"I thought Aang wanted me kept down here." Korra said looking at her father.

"We wanted to keep you two close since at the time we still didn't know what Sean was. And besides you never really seemed to complain about it." Tonraq said.

"It hardly matters anyway. Your going to be the last Avatar anyway so what difference does it make?" Sean asked making Korra smile before Tonraq frowned at Unalaq.

"Besides theres another reason we kept you both down here and he knows why." Tonraq said.

"I had nothing to do with that. I told you that before." Unalaq said.

"The timing says otherwise." Tonraq said.

"What exactly happened?" Korra asked.

"It doesn't matter. All you need to know is we know he was involved since the timing to was too close." Tonraq said.

"Wonder whats going on over there?" Joey asked.

"Probably the same nonsense as usual." Tristan said.

Thats when Yugi noticed Yami.

'What is it?' Yugi asked.

'Theres something very strange going on here. I feel as though Unalaq is up to something.' Yami said.

As they were talking Tenzin listened in.

"Looks like someone's trying to take your place as the Avatar's stick-in-the-mud Mentor." Bumi teased his little brother.

"Bumi, don't pick on Tenzin. You know he's always been sensitive." Kya teased making him glare.

"I'm not sensitive." Tenzin said making them laugh while Katara was concerned about the interaction between her children.

Later

Everyone was at the festival enjoying themselves.

"Wow. No wonder you guys always come back to this." Tea said enjoying the festival.

"This is one of those benefits to living down here. Minus it being controlled by Unalaq." Sean said feeding Korra some Cotton Candy making her grin.

"You spoil us you know that?" Korra said.

"Is that not his job?" Ishizu asked amused making him chuckle before looking ahead.

"Oh fucking hell." Sean said.

"What?" Korra asked before seeing Bolin trying to flirt with Eska. "Oh Bolin." Korra sighed shaking her head.

"I'm going to assume you guys don't get along? I recall Sean mentioned at the wedding they were just like their father." Tea said.

"You have no idea. They hate my guts because they think I'm nothing but a commoner. When it was revealed my dad was the Pharaoh they still insulted me which made it very clear they would not change." Sean said.

"Who's the mother?" Tristan asked.

"Don't know and don't fucking care. To my knowledge I think she's dead." Sean said before seeing Seto and Asami watch Mokuba play some shooting game.

"This reminds me of my childhood before our step father took us in." Seto said seeing Mokuba win making him cheer which caused him to smirk.

"You never told me exactly what happened." Asami said.

"Our parents passed away and we were sent to the orphanage. Then not long after he took us in to raise us to take over his company when he stepped down. But unlike your father nothing I did ever satisfied him." Seto said.

"Oh. No wonder you don't talk about him." Asami said.

"So what do you think about what Unalaq said about the South being out of balance?" Mokuba asked.

"Oh don't tell me your actually buying that garbage." Sean said walking to them.

"Well, technically speaking I have heard about ships getting attacked. But no one said it was by Angry spirits." Asami said.

"So for once he might actually be right." Seto said.

"No way in hell. If somehow spirits are attacking it's because of him. He does have a lot of insight on spirits so it wouldn't surprise me." Sean said.

"Oh come on, Sean. You can't seriously tell me you think he could pull that off without your mother not seeing it." Korra said.

"She'll admit there are some things even they can't see." Sean said.

"I could launch an investigation into the matter to make sure this isn't another of his schemes." Seto said.

"Later. For now lets just enjoy the festival." Sean said before seeing Bolin being dragged by Eska making him shake his head. "Fucking moron." Sean said.

Later

After the festival everyone was in huts to relax after that.

Sean of course was with his wives against Naga before she got up and ran out making them fall over.

"What the?" Sean asked.

"Naga? What are you doing?" Korra asked before she started howling making them rush up. "Naga hush!" Korra said as they rushed to her.

Thats when Kuriboh appeared and whined.

"Buddy?" Sean asked as the others came out.

"Whats with all the noise?" Joey asked as the Ojama brothers appeared by Bolin and looked scared.

"Something is coming." Yellow said.

Thats when Sean looked ahead seeing something form.

"A dark spirit?" Sean asked.

Thats when it dashed at them before Sean caught it and threw it back before his Ancient disk activated before summoning Buster Blader who rushed in to attack it.

Only for it to swiftly move right past him before ramming into Sean making him grunt as he flew into a wall before it dashed at him before stabbing him in the side making him yell.

"Ok thats it!" Sean yelled before turning into Red eyes and roared before blasting it back.

Only it was still standing before dashing at Korra making her yell as she was forced into the festival as it dashed right at her.

Just as it was about to attack however thats when water started spiraling around it.

"Huh?" Korra said before seeing it was Unalaq before the Spirit started to glow before walking away.

"Go in peace." Unalaq said as it vanished.

"Korra!" Sean yelled rushing to her. "You ok?" Sean asked.

"Yeah I'm fine." Korra said before looking at Unalaq. "What did you just do?" Korra asked.

"Brought it to balance. This is what I have been trying to tell you both. The Southern Water Tribe is out of balance. It needs correction before it gets worse." Unalaq said.

"Chief Unalaq, clearly you are very knowledgable. But Korra still needs to learn her spiritual connection. I'm hoping our trip to the air nation will help her connect to her past lives." Tenzin said.

"The air temples will teach them nothing. Only I can make Korra a fully realized Avatar." Unalaq said.

"I told you that will not happen!" Tonraq said.

"Enough. Give us a minute." Sean said before motioning for Seto and Yami as they walked with them. "Ok something is up. Dark spirits from what my mother told me are very rare to encounter." Sean said.

"But one just attacked. And if what Unalaq said before about them attacking sailors is true means something has changed." Yami said.

"Yeah but what?" Seto asked.

"Thats what we're gonna find out." Korra said.

"We'll play Unalaq's game since I still think he's behind this. He knows a lot about spirits so it wouldn't be that surprising he knew how to control them like this." Sean said.

"So we just need to expose him." Seto said.

"Hence why we go along with this." Sean said.

Later

Tenzin and his family were getting ready to travel to the Air temples.

"I think you forgot a couple of things." Katara said with her other two children beside her with their things.

"Mother, I think I need some time alone with my family right now." Tenzin said.

"This is your family, Tenzin. When you get to be my age, you'll be thankful for the time you had with your siblings. Besides, I think it's important that you all visit your father's home together." Katara said as Bumi wrapped an arm around his shoulder.

"Come on, it'll be fun." Bumi said.

"I'm dying to see that laid-back Vacation Tenzin." Kya said.

"All right. Hop on." Tenzin said.

"Mind if we come along?" Turok asked with Serenity next to him.

"You wish to come?" Tenzin asked surprised.

"Sure. I'm always eager to see new places." Serenity said.

"Well, Hop on." Tenzin said as Turok grabbed Serenity and jumped up while Jinora frowned at her.

Soon Tenzin and his family took off while Sean and Korra watched.

"You think I made the right choice deciding to stay?" Korra asked.

"All we can do is trust our instincts. And mine is telling me Unalaq is up to something." Sean said as he held her close.
