Chapter 38 Origins
Sean was brought into a chamber as he was out cold.
"Whats wrong with him?" Korra asked.
"His memories are starting to become blocked again because of Spiral Serpent rushing to get you two here." Mana said.
"Rush us here why? Whats going on?" Korra asked.
"It's because of what Unalaq is doing." Mana said.
"We know already. He wants to free Vaatu to become a dark Avatar." Korra said.
"No...It's much worse. He's trying to free Vaatu yes...But he's also trying to free someone else we imprisoned a million years ago. Someone even more dangerous than Anubis and Unalaq." Mana said.
"Who are you talking about?" Korra asked as a spell circle glowed under Sean as his memories began to unlock both present and Past.
Flashback 1 Million years ago
A four year old Sean was right next to his Father who had just become Pharaoh after the passing of his father.
Looking around he noticed the original Guardians who all had one of the seven Items.
"Sean try to look a little more presentable." Aknadin said making him glare.
"Aknadin, thats enough. He's four." Mahad said.
"I'm just trying to help since he is more than just a prince. He's the only one who's currently half Human and Ancient." Aknadin said.
Thats when Mahad groaned as the Millennium ring started to glow.
"Mahad? Whats the matter?" Aknadin asked.
"We are in the presence of great evil." Mahad said before one of the Guards groaned before passing out.
Who it was that entered the palace was Bakura who laughed.
"Pardon the interruption. but apparently someone left me off the guest list." Bakura said.
"Bakura!" Atem yelled.
Sean hid behind his father.
"What do you want from me?" Atem asked.
"Now is that any way to speak to an old friend, your highness? I believe you know exactly what I came here to acquire." Bakura said.
"You want the Millennium Items." Atem said.
"So you have all been listening to me through the last few years. I hope I didn't ruin your little celebration, Gentlemen." Bakura said before looking to where Sean was and chuckled. "Ah, The little prince as well. I know what that boy is." Bakura said.
"Your mockery is a disgrace to the pharaoh, and for that you shall be punished, Rogue." Seto said.
"Not so fast! I reside on the outskirts of your little kingdom, so your rules don't apply to me. Now if you wouldn't mind, hand over your millennium Items." Bakura said.
"What?" Shada asked in disbelief.
"I didn't mean for free. I come baring gifts." Bakura said scattering treasures around.
"You stole those!" Shimon said.
"How dare you!" Aknadin yelled.
"I assumed these trinkets wouldn't be enough, so I brought another token of my esteem." Bakura said as a horse raced in with a certain sarcophagus shocking them all. "Meet your previous pharaoh." Bakura said.
Akhnamkanon
"You dare disrespect the tomb of a former Pharaoh?" Seto asked.
"Now you've taken this too far! Bakura you soul must be judged by the millennium items." Atem said.
"HA! You think I care about being judged? Let me show you what is within my soul!" Bakura yelled as he summoned his Diabound in its original form shocking them all.
"Such evil!" Aknadin yelled.
"How can such a creature exist in the heart of a petty thief?" Isis asked.
"Petty? I think not. You may not know this but your king was nothing more than a power hunger Tyrant. I would know. For the crimes he did at my village 14 years ago. How else do you think such a creature exists?" Bakura asked.
"You lie. King Akhnamkanon was a just and kind ruler. He followed the way of the Ancients." Aknadin said.
"So you think. But the Seven items are proof enough of my claim. Tell me do any of you even know where they came from? How they were created or how Zorc found his way into this world?" Bakura asked.
"I know anything you say is lies and twisted facts." Aknadin said.
Sean however noticed the nervous look on his face.
"I know more about the Seven items than you think. Like the fact that they react to the inner darkness within your soul. And whoever has all seven items can bring Zorc fully into this world." Bakura said shocking them.
"You lie! Clearly you are nothing but a servant of the dark one." Seto said.
"Oh I serve him. But not for selfish reasons like you think. No my reasons are simple. Revenge for all the pain and suffering your previous pharaoh caused me so many years ago. And now you will all face my wrath!" Bakura yelled as Diabound roared loudly about to attack.
However a portal began to appear.
"Summon whatever Ancient you wish. It will not be enough to stop me!" Bakura yelled before a hand came out followed by another before the Ancient came out shocking Bakura. "No...It can't be!" Bakura yelled.
"I don't believe it." Shada said seeing who it was.
Exodia the Forbidden one.
"But...Why! You never once cared for mankind! Why now?" Bakura asked before looking at Sean. "The Boy!" Bakura yelled.
"The prince is under my protection. NOW BE GONE!" Exodia yelled blasting Diabound into nothing making Bakura yell in pain before falling to his knees as he glared at them.
"You may have won this round but make no mistake! I will have my revenge on you all!" Bakura yelled running off.
"Stop him!" Atem yelled as they chased after him.
Bakura on a horse ran off as his dark forces left after fighting against the Ancients.
"Sean!" Mana said appearing and held her son.
"He's all right. Apparently Exodia came and protected him." Atem said before they noticed Sean glaring at Aknadin.
"What is it?" Mana asked.
"He's hiding something." Sean said making them look before seeing the nervous look on his face.
"Aknadin." Atem said gaining his attention.
"Yes, My Pharaoh?" Aknadin asked.
"Is there something you want to tell all of us? You look rather nervous since he brought up the seven items." Atem said making him widen his eyes.
"I..." Aknadin tried to say.
"Come to think of it you were the one who even brought the Items. But you never said where they came from." Shimon said.
"Well...I um..." Aknadin tried to say.
"Aknadin...What did you do?" Shada asked making him sigh.
"I'm the reason Zorc is here." Aknadin said shocking them all. "It was an accident! I never intended this to happen. My intentions were never to cause harm. I...Misunderstood the meaning of a spell I used on the Village of Kul Ellna." Aknadin said.
"What spell?" Mana asked narrowing her eyes.
"As many of you may know the Village had evil people there who stole from our kingdom and others across the world. I decided enough was enough...I had used a magic to control some of our soldiers to round up the people of the Village. My intentions were to purge them of their evil. When they were rounded up...I casted the spell...But I misunderstood what it meant." Aknadin said.
"And what did it say?" Seto asked.
"It said to sacrifice the darkness. I thought it meant sacrificing the darkness within their souls...Thats not what it meant at all. I meant sacrifice dark souls and in doing so the people...Were killed." Aknadin said shocking them.
"How many?" Atem demanded making him sigh.
"A hundred Villagers...Give or take. I never meant for that to happen. I never meant to harm them in such a way. I just wanted to purge them of that darkness." Aknadin said.
"What happened after?" Mahad asked.
"The Seven items were created. And in doing so Zorc found a way into this world. I never intended this to happen. My intentions were pure." Aknadin said.
"Pure or not you are the reason Zorc is here. The reason we had to destroy our gateways so he couldn't follow." Mana said.
"I know. And believe me I spent many years regretting what I did. But there is a way to stop him. And all it requires is for us to train the prince to master all his power to finally stop and destroy Zorc." Aknadin said.
"You are not going anywhere near him!" Mahad said shocking him. "You caused this! All the suffering Bakura is inflecting upon the world is all your doing! Ignored the teachings of the Ancients to do no harm. You had no right to do what you did to the Village of Kul Ellna regardless of what your true intentions were." Mahad said.
"I was trying to purge them of their darkness." Aknadin said.
"Thats not for you to decide." Isis said.
"Regardless of what happened the prince is the only one who can defeat them both. Hence why he needs training." Aknadin said.
"He will when he's ready...But not from you." Atem said shocking him. "You've caused enough damage as it is." Atem said leaving with his son and the others while Aknadin was left alone.
Days later
Aknading was within his temple looking at the Ancient carvings on the walls.
"How could I have been such a fool. I should have looked more closer into that spell." Aknadin said.
"Why did you do it?" Seto asked behind him making him face him.
"Seto...I did it to bring peace to the world. To end Darkness not bring it here." Aknadin said.
"I know that. But nevertheless you should have told the Ancients what you were doing." Seto said.
"I tried to bring this up to them several times. But because all they did was steal and never kill they didn't act since their crimes were...Minor in their view. I knew they would never do what was needed to end that nonsense. So I acted on my own with a few others who shared my view. Only...The results were not what I wanted." Aknadin said.
"Why didn't you tell the truth after it happened? We could have found a way to stop him sooner." Seto said.
"I knew if I told what happened I would be ridiculed and disgrace the family name. I had no choice but to keep quiet about what had happened so many years ago." Aknadin said.
"There is always a choice. To do the right thing. You once told me that." Seto said leaving making him sigh.
"Oh I wish it was that simple. All I wanted to do was remove the darkness from that village. Never harm them or cause such harm as what is happening now." Aknadin said before he heard evil laughter making him gasp in shock as he faced who it was. "Bakura!" Aknadin said before getting pushed down.
"We meet again. Only, this time you didn't bring along your fellow guardians. We have a score to settle for the destruction of my village." Bakura said.
"Let me explain! It was an accident!" Aknadin said.
"Save your excuses for someone who cares. I could seize your eye and end you. But I have something more deserving in mind. What better way to destroy a kingdom than from within." Bakura said as they were both engulfed in dark energy as Aknadin yelled in horror.
Everyone at the palace heard this before rushing to the temples.
Only to see Bakura on a horse running off.
"Stop him at once!" Kisara yelled as she summoned her inner ancient the Blue Eyes White Dragon that roared loudly before trying to blast him but he dodged and laughed.
"An impressive beast. I didn't think the Guardians had one who possessed a God Level Ancient within. No matter. It will do you no good when I free Zorc." Bakura said running off.
Later
"What happened?" Atem asked seeing Aknadin out cold.
"We're not sure. He could have seized his Eye but he didn't for some reason." Shada said making him frown.
"He's up to something." Isis said as they left to make sure the palace was secured.
Not long after Aknadin was found and recovering he slowly began to wake before narrowing his eyes as his one real eye had a dark glow to it.
Sean was asleep in his room before the door opened up as Aknadin slowly walked in before pulling out a dagger.
"All threats to Zorc...Must be eliminated." Aknadin said about to strike when a powerful roar was heard making him gasp before a hand grabbed him making him look seeing Exodia who looked enraged.
"AHHH!" Aknadin yelled in shock.
"TRAITOR!" Exodia roared before throwing him outside making him groan as he slowly tried to stand up.
"What is the meaning of this!" Seto yelled as they saw Exodia stand over Aknadin.
"He is corrupted by Bakura's dark power. And tried to murder the prince!" Exodia yelled shocking them all.
"Master. Tell me it is not true!" Seto yelled.
"I witnessed it myself. He now serves Zorc." Exodia said making Aknadin growl in anger seeing he was caught.
"The boy is a threat to Zorc. His power in years to come will outshine even the Ancient Gods. This I cannot allow." Aknadin said.
"How far have you fallen. To think you would serve the very creature you unintentionally summoned." Shimon said.
"Perhaps it is for the best that Zorc be allowed to come to our world so it may begin anew. The Ancients have held us back for far too long. And the Boy is half so therefore he must DIE!" Aknadin yelled before vanishing.
"Secure the prince at once!" Shada yelled to the Guards.
"Now we know exactly why Bakura spared him. To try and take us down from the inside.
"And with the knowledge he knows he could deliver a devastating blow." Karim said.
"We will not allow that to happen. Make changes to our defenses at once!" Seto ordered to the men who rushed off.
Exodia growled before looking towards where Sean was seeing his mother holding him close before he vanished.
Days later
The City had fully recovered from its attack against Bakura.
Word had gotten out about what Aknadin had tried to pull and now everyone was searching for him.
"I cannot believe Aknadin would betray us so willingly." Atem said.
"Not willingly. He's been corrupted by Bakura's dark magic." Shada said.
"There must be a way to free him from this magic." Isis said.
"Regretfully all of them involve death. Aknadin has been poisoned so deeply no amount of magic could possibly free him except for death." Mana said.
"There is no other way?" Seto asked.
"No. Regretfully no." Mana said.
Thats when the palace began to shake.
"What is this?" Seto asked before they heard a powerful roar making them rush outside.
Outside they gasped seeing a Black smoked version of Exodia who roared loudly.
"It cannot be. Exodia has been corrupted." Seto said.
"No. Thats not the Exodia we know. Thats another version. Exodia Necros. Nearly as powerful but not all the same." Mana said as the real Exodia appeared and roared loudly.
Thats when they heard a powerful laughter making them look seeing some fiend appear with what looked like the Millennium eye.
"I have returned!" Aknadin roared.
"Aknadin! What have you done!" Atem yelled.
"I have taken full control of an Ancient God. Now hand over the Boy so he may die by my hands alone!" Aknadin yelled before a sphere engulfed him and Necros. "NO! WHAT IS HAPPENING!" Aknadin roared as the Gods appeared.
"For your crimes Aknadin you will forever be imprisoned within the spirit world. Never to return." Ra said.
"NO! YOU CANNOT DO THIS! HAND OVER THE BOY! HE MUST DIE SO ZORC MAY RULE! NOOOOOO!" Aknadin roared as they both vanished.
"May you find peace Master Aknadin." Seto said.
End Flash back
The Millennium symbol glowed on Sean's head before he groaned holding his head as Korra rushed to him.
"You ok?" Korra asked.
"Yeah...And I know who Unalaq is trying to free. My Grand Uncle Aknadin who was corrupted by Bakura a million years ago. He's in the spirit world." Sean said.
"I know. Mana told me everything." Korra said.
Later
"So this whole time Unalaq was preparing to free both Vaatu and Aknadin to take control of Necros." Sean said.
"Thats correct. After he was caught He handed overt he Millennium Eye to Bakura and was given greater power to control Necros. And now he wants to free them both to start what he began so many years ago. If he succeeds it will be a never ending disaster." Mana said.
"Why didn't you say anything sooner?" Sean asked.
"We had no idea Unalaq was planning that till after you exposed his crimes and left the South. When we did it sent everyone into a panic. That sphere that trapped him was a one time deal. Unalaq plans to use the convergence to free them both and merge with Vaatu to destroy the current world and make it in his image. And then he'll go to the other universe and kill everyone there." Mana said.
"Not if we can help it." Sean said as they got on Red Eyes and traveled through a portal to the mortal world to warn the others.
Authors Note: Oh boy things just got way more intense. So Unalaq is trying to free both Vaatu and Aknadin to control Exodia Necros and destroy the world to make it in his image and then destroy the other universe completely.
