Chapter 40 A new Spiritual age

Sean, Korra and Jinora were within the spirit world for the very first time in their lives.

"Eh. I like the Ancients world better." Sean said before Korra elbowed him lightly

"Come on. It's beautiful here." Korra said touching a flower before it turned into a spirit making her laugh.

"The spirits are so much more beautiful in their own world than they are at home." Jinora said following it.

"Hey." Sean said following her.

"Wait up." Korra said as they chased her.

Thats when Korra stepped into a hole.

"Hey watch where you're goin', you giant clod." A spirit annoyed.

"Whoops sorry." Korra said.

"We ain't exactly familiar with this area." Sean said.

"This is a residential area in case you hadn't noticed. Who do you think you are stomping through here like that?"

"I'm the Avatar." Korra said crossing her arms grinning before another came out.

"The Avatar." He sniffed her which made her uncomfortable. "Not impressed."

"Oh fucking great. Critics." Sean said getting annoyed.

"We're trying to find the spirit portals? I opened one..." Korra tried to say before another came out the ground.

"I heard Unalaq did that."

"No she did that when we though we were helping the Southern Tribe." Sean said as another came out.

"Well, if you opened it, how come don't know where it is, huh?"

"That was at the South pole in our world." Korra said getting tired of them already before more showed up.

"I don't trust them!"

"Get out of our world!"

"We don't need you."

"You don't belong here!"

"KNOCK IT OFF!" Exodia yelled through Sean making them yelp in shock.

"Um...Hey big man. It's...Been a while."

"This is why I hate spirits. Your all annoying." Exodia said.

"Damn." Korra said surprised as Jinora walked to them.

"I don't think he likes them that much." Jinora said.

"If I recall one of Mana's lessons she said the Ancients and spirits were at odds with each other because the spirits sometimes attacked humans for no reason." Korra said.

"Now where are the portals?" Exodia asked impatient.

"Uh the best way would be to find some flyers to spot it easier." One said.

"I see...NOW GET LOST!" Exodia yelled making them yell scattering.

"What the hell was that about?" Sean asked rubbing his head.

"Like I told Jinora I don't think Ancients and Spirits get along all that well. Even though the Ancients created them." Korra said.

Thats when the place began to change to a darker setting putting them all on edge.

"My how you've Grown." Aknadin said around them.

"Show yourself Aknadin. Too afraid to face me in person?" Sean asked.

"Hardly. Though I am surprised that you managed to get here so quickly without any training. Nevertheless it will not change what has been set into motion." Aknadin said.

"Oh yes I will. I remember what you did a million years ago. Your the the reason that not only we have to face Zorc but made Bakura into the vile fiend you turned him into." Sean said.

"I know. But you will not stop me." Aknadin said as the area glowed.

"HEY!" Korra yelled as they were all separated.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" Sean yelled as he found himself in a dark forest.

"Sean?" Korra asked before seeing dozens of dark creepy looking spirits making her shiver in fear before running off as they attacked her.

"Sean?" Korra called out as she looked around.

Thats when the sounds of a little girl crying were heard revealing it to be Korra as a four year old. "Sean." Korra cried as she laid against a tree.

"Goddamnit. Now I see why Exodia hates this place." Sean said walking around.

"Leaving so soon?"

Sean widened his eyes before coming face to face with Anubis who still looked as terrifying as ever.

"You again?" Sean asked before getting blasted.

"I will finally have my revenge on you for my humiliating defeat a year ago." Anubis said.

Jinora was outside where they were facing no problems at all.

"SEAN! KORRA! Where are you?" Jinora called out but got nothing. "Hello? I'm lost." Jinora said before a creature cooed making her look seeing one of the spirits she met before the three arrived. "Furry-Foot." Jinora said rushing to him seeing he was even bigger. "You're so big here." Jinora said. "I don't suppose you know where Sean and Korra are, do you?" Jinora asked "We were supposed to go find the spirit portals but I don't know how to find anything down here." Jinora said before he picked her up and carried her somewhere.

Thats when they came to some large palace

"Wait...I know this place. Grandpa Aang came here. It's Wan Shi Tong's spirit library." Jinora realized.

Meanwhile

Korra continued to cry as she laid against a tree before she heard some screeching sound making her look up seeing something flying at her before she widened her eyes.

"AH! GET AWAY!" Korra yelled smacking it away. When she opened her eyes she saw it was a harmless spirit who was now wounded because of her. "I'm sorry. You scared me." Korra said picking him up before they heard footsteps.

"You two look lost. Perhaps I can help you find your way."

"I know you." Korra said.

"Of course. You studied me and the other Guardians...And Even met my I believe you call DoubleGanger."

"Shimon." Korra said looking at one of the original guardians and Solomon's doubleganger.

"Ah Hello Korra." Shimon said leading her away from the area.

"Why are you here?" Korra asked.

"Even though my soul has long since passed on I can still connect to certain places in the world. The Spirit world is easy for me and the original Guardians. And even though the Ancients had issues with some spirits...They would agree that it is beautiful." Shimon said as they came out seeing a more lighter side of the spirit world. "Perhaps a familiar face from your past life will help ease things for you." Shimon said before Korra saw someone she knew well.

"Iroh?" Korra asked seeing the Dragon of the West.

"Korra. You've come just in time for a tea party." Iroh said as the two sat down. "Help yourself to some spirit cakes. They won't make you gain any weight. Of course, you won't lose any, either." Iroh said patting his large stomach. (Gets me every time)

"This part of the spirit world isn't so scary." Korra said before spotting a tea pot." My Tea Pot!" Kora said.

"That's right. It was yours long, long ago. When you were Avatar Wan, you used it to carry the light spirit Raava around until the two of you became one. It's my favorite thing I've found here. You know, when you make tea in it, you can still taste a little light in every drop." Iroh said pouring her some tea as she drank it and smiled.

Meanwhile

Sean grunted as he was blasted into a wall hard making him growl as he glared at Anubis.

"I will finally have my Revenge!" Anubis said about to strike.

"BE GONE!"

"NO! NOT HIM!" Anubis yelled as he roared before vanishing.

Sean sighed in relief as he leaned against a wall before looking at the person who saved him and smiled.

"Welp...I guess I see where Dad gets the protective side from." Sean said looking at his Grandfather.

Akhnamkanon.

"It does my heart good to see my grandson after many years." Akhnamkanon said.

"I'll bet. Too bad you your twisted brother is nowhere near as kind as you are." Sean said.

"Untrue. My brother was indeed kind and caring. He just had a habit of making a mistake from time to time. He never wanted to harm anyone in his life. What happened at Kul Ellna was a complete and unintended accident." Akhnamkanon said.

"Perhaps...But he's the reason all this nonsense happened." Sean said.

"True...But ask yourself...Would you be with the people you love or have the great power to bring great change if he hadn't done what he did?" Akhnamkanon asked making him look away.

Meanwhile

Jinora and her spirit friend flew into the library Wan Shi Tong's library before they landed.

"Wow. I could just stay in here forever, reading." Jinora said.

Thats when Wong Shi Tong arrived and landed in front of her.

"The last human who said that is still here." Tong said looking at the dead corpse of a man who clearly died decades ago. (I think we can all agree Tong probably killed him the second the palace went back to the spirit world. So it's stupid he stayed there.)

"Professor Zei." Jinora said.

"I see that you have some knowledge of the past, so you should know that humans are no longer allowed in my library." Tong said.

"Not even someone who knows the Ancients?" Jinora asked getting his attention.

"You know them? I'm surprised. The ancients have long since been gone." Tong said.

"Not anymore. They've been back for 14 years since Sean was found." Jinora said.

"You refer to Mana's son. I see. Fine. Have a look around but don't destroy anything. I'll know." Tong said flying off.

Meanwhile

"They say that the game of Pai Sho was invented by spirits, Although some of them don't seem to grasp it very well." Iroh said playing with one who looked like a flower.

"Just hold on. I'm thinking."

"AH I remember in my youth of playing games like this with the Ancients. Those were the good old days." Shimon said rembering his youth.

"Until Aknadin ruined everything." Korra said.

"He didn't ruin anything. He made a mistake. Korra, you'll find humanity even when properly guided like the Ancients did can make mistakes. We're not perfect. And we're not meant to be perfect. Not even the Ancients are." Shimon said.

"But wasn't life good before he did what he did?" Korra asked.

"Yes, But even then people made mistakes from time to time. Our nature causes these mistakes. But it's important that we learn from them. To help guide the next generation from repeating them. It's the best thing we can do. Insuring that history does not repeat itself." Shimon said.

"Even those with good intentions can make mistakes. Aang made his own during his time with his children. He unintentionally paid more intention to Tenzin because he was an airbender. Doing so caused a rift between the three after his death. He never intended that but it still happened." Iroh said making her look down.

"Even the best among us can make mistakes. Thats to be expected though. But from those mistakes great things come to be. For example you and Sean would never have met the way you did if Aknadin hadn't done what he did." Shimon said making her smile before she reverted back to her adult form.

"Do you think...If any of the others could stop him from doing what he did they would?" Korra asked.

"No. Cause some times from those mistakes come the greatest gifts to either those who caused them or to others." Shimon said making her smile.

"I need to find him." Korra said.

"And you will." Shimon said picking up the spirit she injured earlier. "This one will help you find him." Shimon said handing him to her.

Meanwhile

"Even though Aknadin's actions led to the destruction of the Golden Era when he brought Zorc into our world...It did lead to some good things." Akhnamkanon said.

"What?" Sean asked in disbelief.

"Think about it. If he had not done what he did you would not be the person you are today. Half Human and Half Ancient." Akhnamkanon said.

"Ok I admit I'm this way because of his screw up. But he didn't have the courage to admit what he did all those years ago before hand." Sean said.

"True. But would you be so willing to admit you brought a great darkness to this world?" Akhnamkanon asked.

"Yes! Cause I was taught to admit when I made a mistake. Like not sending Unalaq to the Shadow Realm sooner to avoid all this." Sean said.

"Perhaps it is easier for you because you were raised with principles. But it's more difficult for someone who has everything to lose." Akhnamkanon said making him look away.

"All right I guess thats true." Sean said.

"Try to understand people make mistakes. It is within our nature. But form those mistakes come great gifts. If Aknadin hadn't done what he did you would not be where you are today with those you are with and care for." Akhnamkanon said making him sigh.

"Ok. Point made. Speaking of which I need to fine Korra and Jinora quickly." Sean said.

"You will find one of them there." Akhnamkanon said pointing to the mountains. "Only you two can restore Aknadin to his former self." Akhnamkanon said before vanishing as Sean ran off.

Meanwhile

Jinora was looking for a map to the spirit portals.

"Ugh! It's not here either." Jinora said frustrated.

Thats when one of the spirit dogs grabbed one book and brought it to her.

"Thank you." Jinora said opening it and began to read it. "The Tree of time. Thats where Avatar Wan imprisoned Vaatu. The Elders believed as long as the portals are closed during the harmonic convergence, Vaatu will remain imprisoned and the battle between good and evil will not be fought again. But if both portals are opened, Spirit energy is amplified greatly. During the harmonic convergence, this energy will be great enough to allow Vaatu to break free from his bonds, and the material world will again risk being consumed by darkness." Jinora read. "So as long as both portals aren't opened then the Convergence can't occur. I need to warn them and get them to leave." Jinora said.

"Leaving so soon?" Unalaq said shocking her seeing him with Wan Shi Tong. "When Wan Shi Tong told me he had a visitor, I had to see it with my own eyes. I can't believe Tenzin sent his daughter here instead of coming himself. What kind of a father is he?" Unalaq mocked.

"Better than you. Wan Shi Tong, how can you be helping him?" Jinora asked.

"Unalaq has proven to be a true friend to the spirits, unlike the Avatar and personally I never liked the Ancients thinking they were better than us." Wan said.

"Why would you wanna help Vaatu and Aknadin escape? They'll destroy everything." Jinora said.

"Don't believe everything you read. Why don't I show you an up-close demonstration." Unalaq said approaching her before her spirit turned dark making her widen her eyes.

Meanwhile

Korra climbed the mountain with the spirit she injured earlier.

However suddenly she lost her footing.

"Whoa!" Korra yelled before a hand grabbed her before pulling her up.

"Do I need to save you every time?" Sean asked amused making her smile as he carried her up the mountain.

"Wheres Jinora?" Korra asked.

"Your asking the wrong guy. I thought she was with you. We'll find her soon enough." Sean said as they got to the top.

Korra walked to a nest where other spirits were at before placing the one she injured with them before they merged together creating a larger spirit making them smile.

"Now thats something you don't see everyday." Sean said as they got on the back before flying away.

Arriving at the portals they landed.

"Well, Well, Well." Vaatu said as they appeared before him. "The Half Ancient boy. The only one who can end Zorc." Vaatu said.

"Wrong. My Doubleganger did that with no effort." Sean said.

"Makes little difference. When Harmonic Convergence comes...I'm going to destroy both you and Raava and the Ancients for good." Vaatu said.

"Please your nothing but an insect compared to them. Your not going anywhere." Sean said as they walked to the portal they opened up.

"You might want to reconsider if you want to save your friend." Aknadin said making them stop before seeing Unalaq with Jinora using dark Water Bending around her.

"You mother...So this is what you wanted me to use my powers for. To free both of them." Sean said.

"Do you not realize the potential you have? You could destroy this world and remake it in a better image it should be. But no. You choose to be soft and misguided." Unalaq said.

"Fuck you! At least I'm still human." Sean said.

"It doesn't matter. I'll free both of them to remake this world in my image and then I'll completely destroy this other universe for the mockery they brought with this Duel monsters card game. Now Korra will unlock the other portal or Jinora dies." Unalaq said making her glare.

"Fine." Korra said making Sean snarl.

Walking to the portal Korra opened it up.

"Now let her go..." Sean tried to say before Unalaq attacked them.

"You should have come through the portal. Than you could do this!" Unalaq said as a Dark Spirt took Jinora away while Sean and Korra were pinned down.

"ENOUGH!" Aknadin yelled stopping him. "I want to face him myself when the Convergence begins. I've been waiting a million years for this." Aknadin said before both vanished.

Both gasped as they came back in the physical world.

"Whoa what happened?" Tristan asked.

"FUCK!" Sean yelled rushing to Jinora trying to wake her up.

"What happened?" Seto asked.

"Unalaq was waiting for us. Made Korra open the other portal and then tried to kill us after he Took Jinora away." Sean said.

"Calm down." Turok said. "Look she's only been out of her body for a few hours. That gives us plenty of time." Turok said before placing some glowing mark on her forehead. "And this old spell will keep her body alive for a few more days until we can find her." Turok said as Serenity picked her up.

"I can't believe this." Joey said.

"Things are gonna get worse. The Convergence is only a few days away." Yugi said before Yami took over.

"We need to go back and prepare the Ancients to fight against Unalaq." Yami said.

"We will...And its time we prove Raiko is not fit to lead." Sean said.
