Chapter 42 A new Threat
It's been 3 months since Aknadin was defeated and since Vaatu was sealed away for good this time around using Technology from the Titan universe.
Now Vaatu was imprisoned within the Ancient universe in a place no one would be able to reach him guarded by special magic to prevent him from being found or escaping.
And Unalaq was imprisoned for life in Paradise City.
And things had finally began to settle down.
Bakura and Yami Marik had not been seen since the war they helped start.
Yugi and his friends were back in their universe attending school again while Sean and the others stayed.
And of course Raiko was being a royal pain by trying to convince people to turn against the Ancients and destroy the other universe but no one listened to him since the Ancients made life good which enraged him.
Right now though.
Sean sighed as relaxed in a hammock with Korra next to him.
"Finally some peace and quiet after the hell that lunatic caused." Sean said making her smile.
"I wonder how the others are doing?" Korra asked.
"Probably just enjoying some normality for a change." Sean said.
Soon the two headed to the City before they spotted Mako in a new uniform.
"Well, It's the Rich detective." Sean said amused making him chuckle.
After Mako quit the police and worked for Kaibacorp he climbed through the ranks pretty quick.
Now he was living a good life.
Lin of course was annoyed she lost a good cop who actually did the job right but she only had herself to blame since she caused him to leave because she threw him in Jail. (I'm Generally surprised this didn't happen in the show)
"So where you two going?" Mako asked.
"Just relaxing. It's nice to finally have some piece and quiet again after that pathetic War." Sean said.
Walking through the City they noticed it was becoming more advanced as the days went by.
Thats when Sean saw a group of kids dueling making him smile.
"You know it's funny." Sean said pulling out his deck. "I never once thought they would be turned into a card game. And yet it's helped make Paradise City into something good for people to enjoy life." Sean said.
"I know." Korra said before pulling out her own. "I don't suppose you'd like a little match between the two of us?" Korra said grinning.
"Whats the prize?" Sean asked making her grin.
"How bout..." Korra tried to say before Sean's phone rang making him answer.
"Yeah?" Sean asked.
"We might have a problem here. You need to get to Kaibacorp now." Asami said.
"On our way." Sean said hanging up.
"Whats going on?" Korra asked.
"No clue. But something is up." Sean said as they left for Kaibacorp.
Arriving at the building they saw Seto and Mokuba.
"Well, look who's back." Sean said.
"This isn't a social visit. We have a serious problem." Seto said.
"Yeah. Someone is trying to buy out Kaibacorp." Mokuba said.
"How? I thought you said it would take some serious money to buy even a single percentage of the shares." Sean said.
"It would. But someone is doing so. And thats not the only thing. Someone is doing the same thing to Industrial Illusions. We found this out after someone posing as him said he was doing it. But that wasn't the case. Alister as he calls himself has a vendetta against me for something my step father did in killing his family." Seto said.
"And now Pegasus is gone because of Mai. She took his soul." Mokuba said shocking them.
"Our Mai? But why?" Sean asked.
"Not really sure on that to be honest since Yugi and the others didn't say. Either she's being mind controlled or something else. Either way she's with them right now. She did this using this Seal of Orichalcos. Do you know what that is?" Seto asked.
"I've never heard of that before. Is there anything else?" Sean asked.
"Two actually. Pegasus in a recording said their leader was a man named Dartz." Seto said.
"I don't know that name either. Though similar our worlds are there always going to be differences. What else?" Sean asked before Seto pulled out a card.
"Me, Wheeler and Yugi have one of three Dragons. Mine being this." Seto said showing the Fang of Critias. "Have you ever heard of these Legendary dragons?" Seto asked.
"What were the others?" Sean asked.
"Claw of Hermos and Eye of Timaeus." Seto said.
"No...I've never heard of any ancients by those names. And with this kind of power it would be difficult not know them." Sean said.
"So we have no idea what we're up against this time around?" Asami asked.
"Hold up." Sean said pulling out the device to contact his double before he appeared.
"Already? Whats up?" Titan Sean asked.
"Have you ever heard of something called the Seal of Orichalcos? Or of someone called Darts?" Sean asked.
"No. We've never heard that name before. Every Universe is different and have different events. Though the Equalists and Unalaq were similar theres always going to be something different. I can't help you on this one." Titan Sean said.
"Thanks anyway." Sean said ending his transmission. "So even the Titans don't know anything about it." Sean said.
"What about Tea and the others?" Korra asked.
"Last I recall they said they were going to see Professor Hawkins. If I recall he made some big discovery. And it might be related to this." Seto said.
"I see. We'll go and visit them and find out whats going on. Find out what happened to Mai. Find out why someone is trying to take over Kaibacorp and all this other nonsense. We'll meet up later." Sean said.
Later
Sean driving a truck with Korra next to him with Mako, Reznov and Julia in the back while Turok in Beast Ancient form had Jinora on his back.
"Remind me again? Why didn't we bring Bolin along?" Korra asked.
"Cause he's being a big baby." Sean said.
While Sean and the others were gone to warn Tenzin about what happened Varrick was going to make Bolin a movie star much to his excitement.
But after Varrick got caught doing his usual nonsense the whole thing was scrapped and never got out to the Public and it made him angry and wasn't speaking to Sean because of it. (If he can hate Varrick when they almost got killed because of him he can be angry at Sean for this)
"I still can't believe he's taking Varrick's side." Reznov said.
"He's being immature as per usual." Turok said.
"Well, he does have an understandable reason to be angry. I mean who wouldn't want to be a star?" Jinora asked.
"Me." Everyone said which made her blink.
"You know we don't care about fame." Korra said.
"Yeah true." Jinora said.
Soon they arrived at Arthur's home but to their shock they found it in destroyed.
"Whoa! The hell happened here?" Julia asked.
Thats when Sean spotted a trailer making him get out and walked to it.
Knocking on the door he was surprised Tea answered it.
"Sean!" Tea yelled jumping into his arms making him chuckle.
"What are you doing here?" Rebecca asked looking very different from last year.
"You look different." Sean said making her smirk.
"I am a college student now." Rebecca said.
"College Student?" They all asked shocked.
"By the ancient Gods. Whatever. Wheres your Gramps?" Sean asked making her look down.
"He's inside." Tea said leading him inside seeing him on the bed out cold.
"What happened?" Sean asked.
"Some jerks came by and took him before blowing up his lab. And left a card for Yugi to come face them. He left and Joey and the others went after him along with Weevil and Rex." Rebecca said.
"What are those two doing involved in this?" Sean asked.
"Up to their old tricks no doubt. I think they want to gain new cards to replace the ones they lost." Turok said
"Tea where are they?" Sean asked.
"Out there somewhere." Tea said.
Sean and Korra got in the truck.
"You guys stay here incase something happens." Sean said driving off.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Turok said.
Later
Sean driving the truck soon found the others.
"HEY!" Sean yelled getting their attention as they parked.
"What are you guys doing here?" Tristan asked.
"Seto told us what was happening." Sean said.
"YOU!" Rex and Weevil yelled angry.
"Oh great. It's Dumb and Dumber." Sean said pissing them off. "Wheres Yugi?" Sean asked before looking seeing Yami dueling against someone with some green seal surrounding them. "I'm going to assume thats the seal that takes peoples souls away." Sean said.
"Yeah and Yugi played it." Duke said making Sean narrow his eyes feeling nothing but evil coming from it.
Thats when his opponent actually defeated him which shocked them all before the seal surrounded Yami before taking his soul before his opponent picked him up just as a chopper showed up before Sean jumped to them making him look at him.
"So the Legendary half Ancient is here. I would say I'm honored...But I'd be lying."
"Who the fuck are you?" Sean asked.
"The name is Rafael. And you can keep him!" Rafael said throwing Yugi to him who he caught before Rafael left with someone else.
"Yugi wake up." Sean said shaking him awake before he opened his eyes.
"Sean?" Yami asked.
"Hey bud. Seto told us everything that happened about Pegasus and Mai. How did you escape that seal? The Puzzle?" Sean asked making him look down.
"No...I didn't escape it...Yugi's gone." Yami said shocking him. "It's all my fault. I played that Seal and it took him away. It's all my fault!" Yami cried.
"Knock it off." Sean said shocking him. "Crying about it ain't gonna bring him back. What will is doing something about it." Sean said before he jumped with him to the others.
"Hey Yugi. How'd you escape that card?" Joey asked.
"He didn't." Sean said confusing them. "Incase your forgetting...Two minds inhabit one body." Sean said shocking them realizing it was Yami who looked down.
"Ok start over from the beginning. How did all this start?" Korra asked.
"Well, First these Duel monsters showed up and everyone thought the Duel disk holograms were acting up but Kaiba proved that wrong. Then we thought they were Ancients but they weren't. Then that guy and some others stole the Egyptian God Cards." Joey said.
"You lost the God Cards?" Sean asked.
"They ambushed Yugi's grandpa. I don't know why but they need them for something. Perhaps they intend to drain their power for something sinister. Something perhaps even worse than Aknadin and Vaatu." Yami said.
"Theres a terrifying thought." Korra said.
"Figures. We just finished one fight against one major threat now we gotta deal with another." Sean said.
"But why do they need souls?" Duke asked.
"Probably similar to how Amon drained peoples bending away to power up Anubis's power. Different method but same result." Sean said.
"If that is the case we need to find where the souls are being kept...And free Yugi and those who they have captured." Yami said.
"We will. I promise. Lets head back to the others and let them know whats happened." Sean said as Yami got on a horse while Joey and the others got in Duke's car while Korra and Sean got in the truck and drove off.
