Chapter 48 Grappling with the Guardian
Sean rushed to Paradius head quarters with a glare on his face before holding up Joey's dragon.
"As far as I'm concerned Mai lost her place with us because of her selfishness." Sean said before using his magic to select his new cards before heading up the Elevator.
Coming to the top he stepped out before facing Rafael seeing white wings on his back.
"Out of my fucking way. I'm here for Dartz and him alone." Sean said with his Puzzle glowing as did the eye on his forehead.
"You want him...You gotta go through me." Rafael said.
"Don't fucking tempt me. I'm in a really bad mood because of Mai." Sean said.
"I don't blame you. She's not one of us anymore because she felt guilty about what happened." Rafael said.
"Like I care. Lets get this over with." Sean said said as their duel disks before their life points went up to 4000 each. "But before we duel I got a question." Sean said.
"And that is?" Rafael asked.
"Why are you doing this? Working for Dartz? I know your angry about what happened with your parents and siblings and his relatives taking everything he owned...But why angry at the world?" Sean asked.
"Why do you think? This world is full of nothing but Darkness. I want that darkness gone so a new and better world can exist. No different than the world of the Ancients and the Titans. I know for a fact society is perfect with them around in each universe. We'll do the same here." Rafael said.
"That is not the same. They led their worlds from the ground up to what it was. And each one had it crumbled down by the actions of people like Dartz. His ideals don't bring peace...Only death and destruction." Sean said.
"What are you talking about?" Rafael asked.
"In the Titan Universe my counterpart believed he was responsible for bringing the Kaiju to Earth before their truce and destroyed the golden years of the Titans. Only it was later revealed his Rival Mark who was no different than Dartz caused all that just to kill him and claim his fiancé as his own. He killed 20 billion people and laughed about it." Sean said shocking him. "Then theres my Grand Uncle Aknadin. He unintentionally brought Zorc into our world when he created the seven Items and made Bakura who he is today. He brought the end of the Golden years of the Ancients in my universe...Unintentionally though be he still caused it." Sean said.
"Your point?" Rafael asked.
"My point is they were both exactly like Dartz. What do you think that means for this universe if he succeeds?" Sean asked.
"You don't know that. And I've heard enough." Rafael said making him sigh.
"It's blind fools like you who doom the world faster." Sean said as they drew their cards.
"Since I defeated the former Champion I'll go first." Rafael said.
"Whatever." Sean said.
"I play Guardian Treasure. This lets me draw two new cards as soon as I get rid of the five I'm holding." Rafael said discarding his hand. "Plus I can draw two cards every turn from now on." Rafael said drawing his cards.
'Rather strange first move.' Sean said.
"Then I play my Backup Gardna in defense mode." Rafael said as his Guardian monster appeared.

"My move." Sean said drawing his card and looked things over.
'Not a very impressive first hand but it'll do.' Sean said.
"I summon Clayman in Defense Mode." Sean said as he appeared.

"And then I'll play this Magic Card. Gift of the Ancients." Sean said
"Whats that do?" Rafael asked.
"Similar to your card my Magic card allows me to discard two cards from my hand and draw two new ones from my deck." Sean said doing just that and smirked. "I end things there with a Face down." Sean said.
"I play Gravity Axe. This lets me summon Guardian Grarl." Rafael said as he appeared and roared loudly.

"And Thanks to Gravity axe it increased his attack by 500. And now attack his Clayman!" Rafael ordered as his monster went for the attack.
"Not so fast. Go Ancient switch!" Sean yelled as his trap card was revealed. "This allows me to switch places with my monster on the field with one from my hand. And I choose my Millennium Shield." Sean said as it appeared and blocked the attack as they were equal.

"I plan my moves in advance." Sean said drawing his cards and smirked. "I play polymerization to fuse together my Clayman and my Bubbleman to make Elemental hero Mudballman." Sean said as his new monster appeared.

"And finally I play this. Big Shield Gardna in Defense Mode and one card face down." Sean said as his next Defense showed up.

"Your monster is a little weak unlike the rest. I play Butterfly Dagger. This makes my Gardna 300 points stronger and then lets me summon Guardian Elma. " Rafael said as she appeared.

"And it now gets transferred to her and lets me play Guardian Shield back from the graveyard to equip it on her." Rafaeal said as she now held the Dagger and the shield. "Now Grarl destroy his Gardna!" Rafael said as he went in for the attack.
"You really are blind. Go Castle Walls." Sean said as his monster blocked his attack.
"What just happened?" Rafael asked in shock before he lost 100 life points. "What!" Rafael asked.
"My trap increased his defense points by 500. Which made it 100 points stronger than yours." Sean said making him frown in annoyance.
"I can see why you beat the Pharaoh in Battle City." Rafael said.
"Save your false complements for someone who cares. I don't even care about titles nor power. I just care about the simple things in life." Sean said.
"Is that so?" Rafael asked.
"Compared to what you had in your past...I would prefer to have the simple things in life. A family and a nice home. Nothing more or less." Sean said.
"Your certainly more Modest than Most." Rafael said.
"Thats because I was raised with principles. Unlike you." Sean said.
"What good are principles when the world is full of darkness and Evil. Like the Pharaoh. Have you even heard what he did in the past?" Rafael asked.
"You told him he was an Evil King and destroyed Egypt. Thats not what I heard from Ishizu's family." Sean said.
"Meaning what?" Rafael asked annoyed.
"Meaning your story is flawed. If he was an Evil King why do the textures refer to him as a brave and powerful Pharaoh who saved the world by locking the dark magic away? That doesn't sound like something an Evil King would do? Is that what Dartz told you?" Sean asked.
"And what if it is?" Rafael asked.
"Then he's lying. Giving you a reason to hate him without actually hearing the real story from someone who knows it. You know about Amon don't you?" Sean asked.
"I've heard." Rafael said.
"Then you'd know his story was a lie. He didn't get his power from the Ancients he got them from Anubis who destroyed Republic City. His whole quest was one big lie and he didn't even know it." Sean said making him frown looking away. "My move." Sean said drawing his next card and grins. "I sacrifice my Shield and Gardna to Summon my favorite Monster. Tri Horned Dragon." Sean said as his Dragon appeared and roared loudly at Rafael. "And place this face down."

"My Gral is still stronger than your puny dragon." Rafael said before Sean's Dragon went on the Attack making him widen his eyes before Elma took the hit making her lose the shield but lost 500 life points in the process because of this.
"You sacrificed your shield." Sean said.
"Cause I know you did something." Rafael said making him grin pointing to his face down showing it was Dragon Treasure which increased his power by 300. "That Dragon isn't your best but still your favorite. Everyone knows you've played it in most of your duels." Rafael said.
"True. And I owe a large amount of my success to him. I finish with one face down" Sean said now out of cards.
"Well, now it's the beginning of the end for you." Rafael said as he drew his next card making Sean tense up. "I play the seal of Orichalcos." Rafael said as the others showed up.
"Oh no!" Tea yelled worried as the seal surrounded them.
"Relax. As long as he can play a God Level Ancient it'll go away." Seto said.
"Thats true. But Rafael is far more skilled than the others by far." Yami said.
"We'll see about that." Seto said.
"You arrogant fool." Sean said.
"Talk all you like but this duel is now in my favor." Rafael said as his monsters got even stronger. "Now Grarl! Attack his Dragon!" Rafael ordered as his monster went on the offensive.
Only to get destroyed by said dragon.
"What but how!" Rafael asked in shock.
"My face down was De spell. It destroyed your Gravity Axe making it weaker than my dragon." Sean said making him growl enraged by this.
"I play Monster Reborn to bring back my Guardian Grarl." Rafael said as he appeared again. "And I'll end things there." Rafael said.
"My draw." Sean said drawing his next card and smirked. "I play the Magic Card Card of Sanctity. This lets us draw until we both have six cards." Sean said having a full hand now.
"Awesome. Now's he's got a better chance." Mokuba said.
"I wonder what he's up to?" Tenzin said making Bolin scoff turning away.
"Don't know don't care." Bolin said making Sean's eyes twitch.
"Can you excuse me for a minute here real quick." Sean said before using his magic to lift Bolin up.
"Wha! AHHH!" Bolin yelled as Sean slammed him on the ground a dozen times.
"You so deserve that." Mako said making him groan.
"Ok I'm sorry." Bolin said in defeat.
"Open your mouth again and I'm gonna break the seal myself and Kick your ass for an hour." Sean said annoyed.
"Seriously Bolin. Your acting like a child." Asami said.
"He is one." Seto said.
"Asshole." Sean said looking at his Cards and grins. "I play Magic Curtain to summon believe it or not my mother." Sean said as Dark Magician girl appeared with a grin.
"What are you gonna do? Ask Mommy for help?" Rafael asked.
"Fuck you." Sean said annoyed before the Claw of Hermos appeared and roared shocking Rafael. "I fuse my Tri Horned Dragon with Hermos to make a new weapon." Sean said as they fused together before forming a staff of bones as Dark Magician girl held it before her attack went up to 4000.
"No way!" Rafael yelled in shock before she blasted Grarl to nothing making him lose a thousand life points.
"My Staff doubles the attack points of whoever I equip it to." Sean said.
"Awesome. Now he's gotta a better chance of winning this." Tristan said.
"I play Call of the Haunted to bring Grarl back." Rafael said as he came back again. "Next I play Rod Of Silence. This lets me play my Guardian Kay'est." Raffel said as she appeared before looking Demonic.

'He's really determined not to let them stay in the Graveyard. He may be a fool but he's committed to them. I admire that. I feel the same way about my monsters but the difference being I honor their sacrifice to stop people like Dartz." Sean said
"I play Celestial Sword Eatos." Rafael said as it came down.
"Sean! Be Careful!" Yami yelled.
"I summon my Guardian Eatos." Rafael said as she appeared before yelling in pain as her wings turned from White to Black.

"What have you done! You've corrupted your own monster!" Sean yelled pissed off.
"Exactly, and it's more powerful than Ever! And with this sword it can become even stronger from the monsters in your Graveyard!" Rafael said as Sean's arm went up before his monsters came out and fused with her sword. "Now Eatos! Destroy his Dark Magician Girl." Rafael yelled making her go on the Attack.
Only the Staff was destroyed instead.
"What!" Rafael asked in shock.
"Sorry but my Staff can block the attack by destroying it. And I gain life points equal to what half of her attack points were a moment ago and end the battle." Sean said as his life points went up to 4000 making him growl.
"You got lucky and Nothing else." Rafael said.
"We'll see about that." Sean said drawing his next card and Grins. " I still have two monsters on the field. and It's time to show you the error of your ways. I play Mystical Space Typhoon which destroys your sword preventing your from gaining more attack points." Sean said as it was destroyed. "Next I play the Magic Mage Power which increases my Mother's attack points for Magic and Trap card on the Field. Like these two plus itself. 1500 hundred more attack points makes it stronger than Eatos. Now Blast her!" Sean ordered as Dark Magician Girl destroyed Eatos who screamed before blowing up.
"NO!" Rafael yelled in horror as his Monster was gone as she ascended to the heavens.
"Hmm?" Sean asked noticing the seal on his head was glowing more than usual as he looked enraged.
"You are gonna pay for that Kruger!" Rafael yelled.
"You brought this on yourself. You claim you care about your monsters but you corrupted them with vile black magic. Your nothing but a Hypocrite." Sean said shocking him. "You mocked and lectured Yami about what he did but what does that make you? A fucking Saint? I think not." Sean said.
"QUIET!" Rafeal yelled as some dark hole appeared in front of him.
"Now what?" Sean asked before some ugly looking fiend appeared from the ground.
"UGH! What is that?" Korra asked in disgust.
"When you destroyed my Eatos you gave birth to a new creature. My Guardian Dreadscyth." Rafeal said.

"It's still no match for my mother." Sean said.
"It will be once I play this magic Card. Reaper Scythe. Now for the best part. It gains 500 attack points for each monster in my graveyard." Rafaeal said.
"I thought you hated having monsters in your graveyard." Sean said.
"But I despise you even more now because of what you did. Now I sacrifice every other monster to boost his attack power." Rafeal said as they went to making his monster even stronger.
"I don't understand." Yami said.
"He needs it to gain more attack points to defeat his Dark Magician Girl. So he's sacrificing his monsters to do so." Seto said.
"I know that. But he never sacrifices his monsters. It's almost like this new monster is corrupting his mind." Yami said.
"Probably because it is. That thing is a Fiend type monster." Reznov said.
"And an Ancient?" Seto asked.
"Oh yeah. A powerful one to." Reznov said.
"Now Destroy his Dark Magician Girl!" Rafeal yelled as it went on the attack.
Only to switch to defense mode.
"Now what!" Rafeal yelled.
"Maybe your forgetting my face down cards." Sean said as one revealed itself as Block Attack which made it switch into defense mode.
"Just go." Rafael said.
"With pleasure and first I activate my final face down. Card of Demise. Which lets me draw five new cards." Sean said drawing his new hand and smirked. "I play my Soul release magic Card to remove some of my monsters from the game." Sean said.
"Remove?" Rafeal asked.
"Second I'll bring them back with my Return from the Different Dimension trap card." Sean said as Several Monsters appeared such as Tri Horned Dragon. "And then I sacrifice all five of my monsters to summon this!" Sean yelled as a magic seal appeared as his monsters vanished.
Rafael gasped before the Seal shattered.
"NO!" Rafael yelled in shock before coming through the seal was Exodia the Defender who looked down on him with a glare.
"But I'm not done. Next I play Monster Reborn to bring back an old friend you betrayed." Sean said as Eatos appeared.
"Eatos?" Rafael asked in shock.
"Finally I activate my final Card Ancient Recovery. This lets me recover one card from my Grave Yard and I choose Hermos." Sean said as he appeared. "Now I merge my Defender with Hermos." Sean said as they merged together.
Appearing in their place was a blue glowing blade before Eatos took it and her attack points became infinite
"It's time to free you of the darkness that has clouded your mind." Sean said shocking him. "Now Eatos! Destroy his Dreadscythe with Ultimate slash!" Sean ordered as she roared before slashing it to nothing.
"AHHHHHHH!" Rafael yelled before he flew into a wall out cold.
"Ouch." Turok said as Sean walked to him before finding some chip on the ground.
"Hey." Sean said tossing it to Seto who placed it in his computer.
"What is it?" Korra asked.
"Coordinates. I'll give you one guess where they go to." Seto said.
"Dartz." Sean said as the Chopper soon arrived and landed before Sean picked Rafael up and got him inside just as the whole place began to crumble apart as they took off.
"It's time we finished this." Yami said.
