Chapter 53 Rebirth
Its been a few days since the emergence of new Airbenders in this universe.
And since Zaheer was set free by Bakura who now had his own Airbending abilities.
And lastly since Raiko was sent to the Shadow Realm since after learning what his double did in the Titan Universe Sean didn't want to take chance.
Right now everyone was at Air Temple island seeing a highly advanced Airship approaching before a ramp came down as did Asami and Seto.
"Someone order a luxury Airship?" Asami asked.
"It's perfect. Thanks, Asami." Korra said.
"I figured if we're gonna travel the world looking for new Airbenders, we might as well do it in style." Asami said.
"Plus theres a medical room and team on board incase Korra goes into Labor early." Seto said.
"Always prepared huh?" Sean asked making him grin.
"Yay! Airship!" Meelo yelled.
"I wanna see." Ikki said as the two rushed inside making the group laugh.
"Pema and I will hold down the fort." Kya said holding her youngest nephew.
"Room for some more?"
Sean and the others turned seeing Rafael, Alister and Valon.
"What are you guys doing here?" Joey asked.
"We figured helping you guys would make amends for what Dartz made us do." Valon said.
"Fine by me. More help means better results." Sean said as they walked on board before someone else also arrived and got on before the Airship took off with Meelo, Ikki, Pema and Kya staying behind.
Seto quickly pulled up a holographic map of the areas where new Airbenders were reported.
"These are the Areas where new Airbenders have been reported. The largest amount is in Ba Sing Se." Asami said.
"Theres only one or two in every other location." Seto said.
"So we go in and take them to the Air Temple and they become new Airbenders." Joey said.
"You don't actually think it's that simple do you?"
Sean widened his eyes before turning seeing Mai.
"Mai!" Tea yelled running too her as did Joey.
"What are you doing here?" Joey asked.
"When I heard you guys were looking for New Airbenders I figured I could make amends by helping." Mai said.
"Fat chance! Turn this thing around so we can drop her off!" Sean yelled shocking them.
"Hey! Whats the deal? You let them come along." Joey said looking at Rafael and his group.
"Heres the difference between them and her. Their lives were screwed over because of the Dartz from my universe and the Leviathan. She willingly worked for him for power and fame. He had nothing to do with her turning to his side! Why would we trust someone like that!" Sean asked making her hold her head down.
"Come on now. Everyones deserves a second chance." Yami said.
"Need I remind you her other actions as well. Lets go for when she set Joey up against Rex Raptor despite knowing he was dueling to win the prize money for Serenity's surgery to fix her eye sight. And she willing set him up to defeat him for a laugh!" Sean yelled.
"It wasn't like that!" Mai yelled.
"SHUT YOUR MOUTH!" Sean yelled shocking her. "Turn this thing around!" Sean yelled.
"Enough." Seto said. "I understand your pissed at her for what happened. But I used to be even worse than that." Seto said.
"Because of your step father." Sean said.
"Doesn't matter. You gave me a chance. So why not her?" Seto asked making him snarl before looking at Mai.
"Screw up in any way and your finished." Sean said leaving bumping into her.
"Give him time. Betrayal of a friend is not something one forgives so easily." Reznov said.
Meanwhile
On a remote prison in the middle of the Ocean the Ancients stood by guarding one of Zaheer's allies from 15 years ago. Ghazan.
The prison itself was made entirely of Wood to prevent him from using Earth Bending and Lava bending.
As the Ancients continued to guard him they heard what sounded like a speed boat.
"If this is the White Lotus trying to take their old posts back I swear." Axe Raider said before approaching the boat. "State your business." Axe Raider said before seeing who it was. "ZAHEER!"
Axe Raider tried to slash him but he dodged before using Airbending to blow him back making him growl as Tiger Axe tried to hit him but he dodged again before throwing rocks to Ghazan who smirked before turning the rocks to lava to bust himself out.
Zaheer continued to fight against both Axe Raider and Tiger Axe before Battle steer tried to stab him but Ghazan busted out and hit him making him yelp as he was forced into the water before Zaheer blasted the other two into the water.
After they were defeated they got into an armlock.
"It's nice to see you again, Ghazan." Zaheer said.
"Thanks for busting me out. Where'd you pick up the new skills?" Gahzan asked.
"I have Harmonic Convergence to thank for that. I was given a gift. I believe it's a sign that our path is a righteous one." Zaheer said.
"So we still going after them?" Ghazan asked.
"Without question." Zaheer said.
Meanwhile
"I so saw this going a different way." Joey said disappointed they didn't get the first Airbender they came to pick up since he refused to leave.
"I can't say I'm surprised. Not all of them are going to just want to up and leave the lives they have." Seto said.
"True enough. Most of these guys are just gonna want to stay where they are and just ignore their new abilities. Some may come later while others will not." Sean said.
"Maybe we should try harder to convince them to join us." Asami said.
"Or we could've thrown him into a potato sack and forced him into the ship." Bolin said.
"Thats how they got me to join the united forces." Bumi said playing with his spirit.
"No, Sean's right we can't coerce people or throw them into potato sacks." Tenzin said.
"Look I say we just head to Ba Sing Se since they have the most out of the others. Why waste our time trying to convince one person in each location to join us if they'll just turn us down?" Alister asked.
"He's got a point." Valon said.
"It does make more sense." Mai said.
"No one asked for your Opinion." Sean said walking away making her sigh.
"Leave him alone." Turok said knowing he wasn't easily swayed.
After all that everyone was just relaxing as they went to Ba Sing Se.
Sean right now was just playing duel monsters the old fashioned way with Turok.
"What are you two doing?" Seto asked.
"Just passing the time the old fashioned way. I like the holograms and all but even I like a plain simple game of duel monsters." Sean said before beating Turok who sighed annoyed before walking off.
"Hmph!" Seto said amused as Sean stood up before going to the windows.
"Sean?" Mai asked making him glare.
"Beat it." Sean said.
"Look just hear me out. Please?" Mai asked making him sigh.
"Fine." Sean said.
"Look I know I screwed up but I wasn't being entirely selfish. Every other Tournament I won no one even knew who I even was because I didn't win the big Tournaments like Duelist Kingdom or Battle City like you guys did. Or that I wasn't some big shot like you and Korra because of what you guys are. Do you have any idea what that feels like to be ignored because you aren't someone who's on top of everything?" Mai asked making his glare lessen.
"No but I don't care about shit like that and you know it. I care about friends and family. My title and powers means jack to me. All I care about is keeping those I care about safe. Nothing more or less." Sean said.
"I know that but I want to be recognized for my skills and nothing I did was good enough for them." Mai said.
"Then ignore them." Sean said shocking her. "What others think is pointless. It's what those who you care about think that matters most. If we let what strangers think of us judge our skills then you set yourself up for what happened to you all over again." Sean said making her sigh.
"I guess." Mai said.
Meanwhile
In another prison under a Volcano stood yet another of Zaheer's allies. Ming-Hua.
The heat prevented her from using her Waterbending.
She glared at the stumps where her arms used to be.
Thats when she heard fighting above making her look.
'Now what?' Ming-Hua asked before DarkFire soldier was blown into a wall by Zaheer before a barrel was thrown up and sliced open letting Water rain down before she used it to make Water Arms and escaped.
Ghazan fought against Gearfried and Celtic Guardian before both were slammed into wall by Ming-Hua knocking them out.
"Never thought I'd be happy to see your ugly mugs again." Ming-Hua said.
"Great to see you too, Ming-Hua." Ghazan said.
"I'm flattered, you busted me out before that girlfriend of yours." Ming-Hua said.
"We're getting her next. And then we're going after the Avatar and Kruger." Zaheer said.
"Perfect." Ming-Hua said grinning.
Later
Sean slowly woke up with a yawn before finding his wives around him making him chuckle.
'And to think if Meelo didn't screw up I never would have gotten this. But he's still a shithead.' Sean said before getting up before Tea pulled him down.
"Five more minutes." Tea said tired making him chuckle.
"We got business." Sean said making her sigh as they got up.
Korra yawned getting her clothes on before looking at her extra large stomach.
"Do I look fat?" Korra asked making them chuckle.
"Oh please. It's just the pregnancy showing. Once those four are born you'll be back to your old self in no time. And if not...I did sign up for better or worse." Sean said making her giggle.
"HEY! GUYS COME OUT HERE!" Joey yelled.
Getting dressed they came out and found the group with some boy around Jinora's age.
"Who's' the kid?" Sean asked.
"This is Kai. He's an Airbender who's agreed to come with us in finding more Airbenders." Tenzin said.
"And he says he's being chased by some outlaws." Joey said.
"Outlaws?" Sean asked before they all heard what sounded like motorcycles.
"Release the boy! Or we will take him by force."
"I'll handle this." Sean said walking out with Rafael and Valon.
Mai however noticed something in Kai's bag making her frown.
They stood in front of the group before Sean summoned Bust Blader's sword.
"Your days of hunting this kid are at an end." Valon said.
"Hold up!"
Sean blinked seeing Gadget soldier approaching them.
"Gadget Soldier? Whats going on here?" Sean asked.
"Clearly you've been mislead. The boy is a criminal. We've been tracking him for six months." Gadget soldier said.
"So your not outlaws?" Rafael asked.
"NO! We're deputies!" The Sharif said showing his badge making them frown.
"Wheres Kai?" Sean asked.
"Right here." Mai said dragging him out.
"Let me go!" Kai yelled.
"Caught him trying to sneak out the bathroom." Mai said.
"I told you I had to go." Kai said.
"With this?" Mai asked dropping his bag showing gold.
"I told you I found that on the road." Kai said.
"BOY!" Sean yelled making him wince. "The truth...NOW!" Sean yelled.
"The Truth is he's the outlaw. He spent his whole life in the Orphanage till he got adopted by a real nice family. And how did he repay them? By taking their entire life savings. We've been after him ever since." Gadget Solider said making Sean snarl.
"You lied to us!" Sean said.
"Look I swear that was the old me. Once I became an Airbender everything Changed." Kai said.
"Don't fucking take me for a fool! No one changes that fast! And if you really did Change you would have handed all that back! But instead you lied to my face about why you were coming with us. Forget it." Sean said as they took him. "He's all yours." Sean said before they were about to head out.
"Wait." Alister said stopping them. "You have the gold. Leave the kid with us." Alister said.
"What?" Sean asked in disbelief.
"He's lived all alone with no one to teach him whats right and wrong. How else do you think he became like this?" Alister asked making him frown looking at Kai.
"You really gonna put a kid away who could change? How you gonna tell your kids that?" Mai asked making him sigh loudly.
"I so fucking know I'm gonna regret this. We'll take the kid." Sean said as they let him go.
"Thanks." Kai said before yelping as Sean grabbed him.
"Let me be clear...You screw up even once and I'm taking you back. Clear?" Sean asked making him nod before he dropped him and walked back to the others.
"You know this is gonna bite you right?" Seto asked.
"Maybe. But Mai's right. I couldn't look my kids in the eye telling them I put a kid in prison for something so easily fixable." Sean said as they took off.
Meanwhile
In Ming-Hua's prison stood two people.
One was Fire Lord Zuko who looked at the cell used to contain Ming-Hua.
The second was Mana with Axe Raider telling her what happened.
"They came out of nowhere and surprised us. We never expected this." Axe Raider said.
"How could this have happened? I thought we had them contained." Mana said.
"We did. We were prepared to deal with them if they escaped...There was just one thing we didn't account for since we never expected it. Zaheer is now An Airbender." Axe Raider said shocking them.
"No! This can't be. Do you have any idea the power these criminals possess? Individually, they could take down any bender. Put them together, they could take down a high level Ancient with some difficulty. And Now Zaheer is an airbender?" Zuko asked.
"We know where their going and what their planning to do before they continue where they left off 15 years ago. Notify the Northern Water Tribe Chief and Contact Lin Beifong at Paradise City." Mana said.
"Understood." Axe Raider said vanishing.
"Last time you caught them by surprise. This time they'll be ready." Zuko said getting on his dragon and flew off.
"And we still don't know what they were up to." Mana said concerned for her son and his unborn children.
