Chapter 56 Old Wounds
Its been a week since everyone arrived at the Metal Clan and were now staying till they could find and Capture Zaheer.
Right now everyone was at the dining hall getting something to eat.
"Where the hell is Lin?" Reznov asked.
"Probably off sulking." Suyin said.
"Yikes. And I thought your brother hated her guts." Joey said.
"Meh." Sean said.
"So Korra tell me have you ever Metelbended before?" Suyin asked.
"Yeah actually. It was something Mahad taught me after the White Lotus was disbanded." Korra said.
"You never did say exactly how that happened." Duke said.
"Oh I came back and exposed them for what they tried to do to me. The leader however had no idea many of his members were willing to go that far. And despite the fact some tried to kill me in the open he claimed they would not be punished." Sean said.
"What? They try to kill you and he just let it happen?" Tristan asked.
"Yup. Thats when an investigation was opened up and showed the crimes of the more arrogant members did. So naturally the whole order was disbanded and the Ancients took over." Sean said before Kuriboh jumped on his shoulder and squeaked while Ruby wrapped around Korra making them smile.
"Oh and we did a much better job." Yellow said making Sean's eyes twitch.
"Oh yeah. Nothing could stop us!" Green said.
"Anyone who tried got a beating!" Black said.
"SHUT UP!" Sean yelled kicking them into a wall. "God I hate them." Sean said.
"Feelings mutual." Seto said.
Thats when all the metal plats and utensils started moving.
"Um guys?" Serenity asked before they flew off making everyone cover as they flew to someone in a metal Suit.
"What the?" Sean asked before it was revealed to be Varrick.
"It worked. Mark that down." Varrick said to Zhu Li.
"VARRICK!" Sean roared.
"What? What I do now?" Varrick asked confused.
"You could have gotten someone killed!" Joey yelled.
"Pfft. Please your all fine." Varrick said brushing it off.
"THATS IT!" Sean roared making him scream as he ran off.
Or rather tried since his suit was slowing him down greatly before Sean beat him to a pulp.
"PLEASE I HAVE A FAMILY!" Varrick yelled.
"OH LIKE HELL YOU DO!" Sean yelled.
"I can't imagine anyone having kids with him willingly." Joey said.
"I could say the same about you." Seto said making him growl.
Later
"I swear that guy pisses me off more than Unalaq ever did before he was sent to prison." Sean said.
"I know. But just let it go. He did remember Suyin had the necklace after all." Korra said.
"Only to save his ass from being sent to the Shadow Realm." Sean said.
"I don't really think he deserves that." Korra said.
"Need I remind you he knocked me and your mother out cold and tried to brainwash me with the wrong Item?" Sean asked.
"Theres a bad memory." Senna said surprising them seeing her and Tonraq walking to them.
"Mom! Dad!" Korra yelled running to them and held them.
"Are you ok?" Tonraq asked.
"I'm fine. Lin told us about Zaheer. Why didn't you ever say anything?" Korra asked.
"Cause at the time the matter was settled. And wanted it to stay that way." Tonraq said.
"How did Zaheer overpower the Ancients?" Sean asked.
"He didn't actually." Tonraq said confusing them. "Bakura busted him out." Tonraq said.
"Why am I not surprised?" Sean asked.
"How did he even know where he was?" Korra asked.
"Unalaq may have told them. We've always had reason to believe he was the one who sent them." Tonraq said.
"Well, he did the same thing in the Titan Universe. My counterpart said he sent them to kidnap Korra to draw Godzilla out to kill him because he accidentally killed his wife and burned Desna's face. So if he did it there he most likely did the same here." Sean said.
"More than likely. We knew he had to be involved but without direct evidence we couldn't do anything and none of them told us who's plan it was. Or what you were at the time." Tonraq said.
Meanwhile
Lin was not looking good as she walked out looking sick before seeing two guards messing around making her growl as she approached them.
"What do you two think you're doing? Get back to work!" Lin barked.
"Is there a problem?" Aiwei asked walking to her.
"Sean and Korra are in danger, and these two morons are just standing around chitchatting." Lin said.
"Not to worry. Zaofu is one of the most secure cities in the world. Add to the fact Master Pegasus has his own security and the Ancients makes it very difficult for them to get in." Aiwei said.
"I'll be the judge of that. I'm going to check every inch of this place." Lin said.
"Lin, you do not have to work while you are here. You need to relax." Aiwei said.
"I am perfectly fine!" Lin snapped before groaning.
"I don't need to be a truth seer to know you are under a dangerous amount of stress that will make you sick. If you don't deal with your repressed feelings, There will be severe consequiences to your health and your job." Aiwei said.
"I don't need to talk about my feelings." Lin said.
"You won't have to say a word. I know a great acupuncturist in town who will be able to help you." Aiwei said giving her a card making her sigh as she took it and left.
Meanwhile
Sean was once more talking to his Titan Counterpart in the airship
"So what exactly happened beforehand? How did you and Zaheer fight one another?" Sean asked.
"Five years ago he had just killed the Earth queen. He believed in the old ways of Titans leading mankind since Man was easily corruptible to power and greed. I understood that. Metal City which was at one point the Metal Clan is the only City in this universe that has Human Leaders. Suyin in my universe is in charge of her city. After that he went to the Air Nation to use the new Airbenders as hostages to draw me out. It worked but we had them outmatched and outsized. But Mark got in the way and heavily wounded me. Which gave Zaheer the chance he needed to take me." Titan Sean said.
"Any suggestions?" Sean asked.
"While I'm gathering the Titans incase things go sideways...I recommend you move Tenzin and his new Airbenders to the other Air Temple." Titan Sean said.
"And theres some other things you should know." Godzilla said.
"Whats going on?" Joey asked walking in
"Talk to you later." Titan Sean said ending his transmission.
"What are you doing?" Tristan asked.
"Preparing of course. I'm not gonna be caught by surprise by Zaheer since my counterpart knows these events I can prepare for them." Sean said.
"I get it. Since he already knows what happened he can help you prepare." Joey said.
"Exactly. But I need to keep it to myself right now so theres less risk involved." Sean said.
Meanwhile
Lin was at the Acupuncturist laying on her back as needles flew above her.
"How many of those damn things are you gonna stick in me?" Lin asked.
"I'll be placing several of these needles on each of your acupoints. Theres nothing to be scared about."
"Do I look like I'm afraid of needles." Lin said
"Please close your eyes and take a deep breath."
Lin did as asked before the needles went in.
"This process will correct the imbalances in your chi. Please tell me if your feel any pain or pressure."
"No...I don't feel a thing." Lin said.
"Thats unusual. Your Chi must be powerfully blocked. We will require more needles."
Soon more entered her body.
"Acupuncture often taps into people's buried memories. These memories can sometimes often be difficult to process depending on what that memory is."
Lin scoffed at this.
"Buried memories, Whatever." Lin said before she started to do just that.
Flashback 30 years ago
Suyin and some boys were in her living room when Lin walked in.
"Su, why are you Home?" Lin asked.
"Wow. You almost look like a real cop." Suyin said laughing.
"You were supposed to be in school." Lin said.
"Oh, no. Are you gonna tell mom? You really think she cares?" Suyin asked.(It seriously surprising she used to be like this as a kid and yet she's so wise at her current age)
Lin then noticed one of the boys putting riches in a bag.
"Where'd you get that stuff?" Lin asked.
"Uh, fell off the back of a truck."
"What are you doing hanging out with these losers?" Lin asked.
"They're my friends, and you have no right to call them that! Come on, guys, let's get out of here." Suyin said grabbing the bag as she tried to leave but Lin grabbed her.
"Su, stop!" Lin yelled but she smacked her hand away.
"Get off me!" Suyin said.
"You have so much potential. You're ruining your life." Lin said.
"At least I have a life." Suyin said leaving making her frown.
End Flashback
Lin started sweating as she remembered these events.
Flashback 30 years ago.
"Calling all units. Robbery reported on the corner of Fifth and harbor. Suspects vehicle headed south on Hao Boulevard. Units responding, identify."
Lin grabbed her radio.
"Unit three responding." Lin said before she spotted the criminals and chased after them before she quickly used her metalbending cables to stop them.
Thats when two of them tried to run off but Lin stopped them before she pulled them to her.
"Wait a second. You two losers are the ones with Su this morning." Lin said.
"Leave them alone."
Lin widened her eyes seeing Suyin in the car who also saw her.
"Su?" Lin asked in shock.
End Flashback
Lin gasped as she launched the needles everywhere before getting up.
"Wait! Leaving in the middle of a session could make you sick."
"I'm done here." Lin said leaving while groaning.
Later
Lin sat in her room holding her head before the door opened up.
"Are you gonna stay in your room feeling sorry for yourself all day?"
Lin turned seeing a younger Suyin before shaking her head before she saw Korra and Sean.
"What is the matter with you? You've avoided everyone all week." Sean said as she groaned. "Whats wrong with you?" Sean asked concerned.
"Nothing." Lin said leaving.
"That doesn't look like nothing." Korra said.
Lin barged back into the treatment room.
"What did you do to me?" Lin asked.
"I told you it would make you sick if you left early."
Soon Lin was back on the table resuming her treatment.
Flashback 30 years ago
Lin smashed her fist into her car.
"So you're robbing stores with the Terra Triad now?" Lin asked.
"I didn't steal anything. I just drove the car cause I owed them a favor. Big deal." Suyin said.
"Are you that ignorant? Your an accomplice for doing this. I'm not gonna let you get away with this." Lin said making her laugh.
"Oh, what are you going to do, officer, arrest me?" Suyin asked turning to leave.
"Don't even think about taking one more step! I mean it!" Lin said but she did anyway before Lin used her metal bending to restrain her but she cut the line But in doing so made it come back at Lin and cut her cheek making her scream in pain making Suyin widen her eyes in shock. (Well at least it wasn't from a cat like Fury)
End Flashback
Lin shuddered as she kept remembering.
Meanwhile
Sean after finishing his talks with his counterpart was walking with Joey and Tristan.
"So your ready for anything that might happen here?" Joey asked.
"Oh yeah. I doubt we'll be caught by surprise." Sean said before they spotted Bolin talking with Opal.
"Oh this is too good." Tristan said as he and Joey dashed to him.
"What are those dorks up to now?" Seto asked walking to him.
"If I had to guess teasing the hell out of Bolin. Not that I blame them." Sean said.
"I wonder what would happen if you told her how he acted when his movie was canceled?" Seto asked making him grin.
"Oooh. You just gave me an idea." Sean said chuckling.
Meanwhile
Lin was still in her session remembering past events.
Flashback 30 years ago
"What in the world were you both thinking? You two have put me in an impossible position." Toph said to her daughters.
"What did I do? She's the one who was running around with criminals and did this to my face." Lin said glaring at Suyin while having a patch on her cheek.
"It was an accident! You think I meant for that to happen! You should have just left" Suyin said.
"I was doing my job!" Lin yelled.
"Enough! All right heres what we're going to do. Su, you need to leave the city as soon as possible." Toph said.
"What? Where am I supposed to go?" Suyin asked.
"You'll go stay with your grandparents. Lin, give me the arrest report." Toph said getting her to do that before Toph sighed as she tore it apart shocking her.
"Mom, what are you doing? You can't cover this up. There were witnesses." Lin said.
"I'm the Chief of Police. I can't have a daughter in jail." Toph said.
"So, once again, she gets to do whatever she wants, and there are no consequences." Lin said ticked off as Toph held her head.
"This is our only option." Toph said.
End Flashback
After that the needles came out.
"You're going to feel a bit fragile, so it's probably best if you take it easy for a little while."
Thats when Lin sat up.
"I don't need to rest. It's time I did something I should have a long time ago." Lin said.
Meanwhile
Sean and Korra watched as Suyin demonstrated her Metal Bending skills.
"Wow. She's good." Korra said.
"She did Learn from Toph." Sean said.
"Did you meet her?" Korra asked.
"Once. She's a royal hard ass and called you Twinkle toes." Sean said making her eyes twitch.
Thats when the ground shook making them look seeing Lin looking royally pissed off.
"Oh boy." Sean said.
"Su, it's time we talk." Lin said looking angry.
"I have nothing to say to you." Suyin said turning to leave.
"DON'T TURN YOUR BACK ON ME!" Lin roared.
"Whats going on now?" Yugi asked as the others appeared.
"I have no idea. An episode maybe." Sean said.
"After 30 years, you're finally ready to talk?" Suyin asked.
"When we were in Mom's office that day, you could have taken responsibility for what you did, but instead you stayed quiet and let mom throw her whole career away." Lin said.
"Mom didn't throw her career away. She retired the next year. She was a hero." Suyin said.
"You think she wanted to retire? She was so guilt-ridden about what she did to protect you, she didn't feel worthy of her badge." Lin said.
"Not even remotely true. Mom was already planning to retire before that anyway." Suyin said.
"Bullshit!" Lin yelled.
"No it's true." Sean said getting her attention. "I talked to her when I arrived here. She admitted she was gonna retire anyway. That whole thing didn't cause it." Sean said shocking her.
"See? I had nothing to do with it. Not that matters in your selfish mind." Suyin said.
"What does that mean?" Lin asked glaring at her.
"Do I need to spell it out? 2 years ago?" Suyin asked.
"I wasn't thinking straight!" Lin yelled.
"You were thinking the ways you always do. Always acting high and mighty and thinking what you wanted was more important than what others wanted. You tried to kill him to get rid of the Ancients because they got so much high praise. Brought crime down to near zero before Paradise City was built. And you hated it so much you wanted Sean dead for selfish reasons." Suyin said making her glare. "I wasn't perfect back then but I NEVER would have done something like that. I actually changed unlike you." Suyin said.
"Oh your so perfect? You worked with criminals 30 years ago and brushed it off. How many people were hurt and terrified because of you?" Lin asked.
"Less than the ones you hurt." Sean said.
"SHUT UP!" Lin yelled.
"Ok enough." Sean said dropping down. "Lin this is still about you not getting praise from Toph to get her attention. Even if you had brought down the whole Crime Triads you still wouldn't get it. Toph wasn't someone to give praise that easy. I would know. I spent enough time around her to know how she works." Sean said making her frown
"See? I am sorry about what happened 30 years ago. I tried to make things right with you when Mom came here and we settled things back then. But your too selfish to move on." Suyin said.
"I am not!" Lin yelled.
"Name one time you've cared about anyone but yourself. Name one." Suyin said making her frown looking away. "Thats what I thought. Your too stubborn to move on in your life and forgive someone for something that happened 30 years ago. I on the other hand can." Suyin said.
"You think just because you live in a big, fancy house and have a chef who cooks you fancy food that you're a different person? Maybe you can fool everyone else, but you can't fool me." Lin said and Suyin looked hurt by that remark.
"Ok enough." Sean said.
"You know what Lin? You're the one who hasn't changed. You're still a bitter loner who only cares about herself. No wonder Tenzin ended things with you years ago." Suyin said.
"Ok lets..." Sean tried to say before Korra cried out which concerned him as he jumped to her.
"Korra? Whats wrong?" Tea asked.
"I think my water just broke." Korra said.
"What? Your not due for another week." Sean said.
"I'll give you one guess who made that happen with stress." Reznov said.
"That is not my fault!" Lin yelled before attacking Suyin who blocked.
"I don't have time for this." Sean said teleporting Korra to the hospital.
Soon Korra was in a hospital gown in the delivery room.
"Ugh. I hate Lin so much for sending me into Labor early." Korra said.
"I know. But it was gonna happen soon anyway." Sean said as the doctors came in as Korra groaned. "It's ok." Sean said.
"I know...I'm just scared." Korra said.
"I know." Sean said before the doctors began to work.
Korra started breathing quickly as she was preparing to give birth to her first baby.
"UGH! AHHHHH!" Korra screamed before she heard soft crying before the first one was taken away to be cleaned.
"Thats the first one." A doctor said making Korra groan.
"It's all right." Sean said wiping the sweat off her head.
"Your not the one pushing them out." Korra said glaring.
"True." Sean said before she began to move onto the next one as she groaned loudly.
"AHHHHHH!" Korra screamed before another soft cry before the doctors took the second one away.
"Two more to go." A doctor said.
"I KNOW HOW MANY ARE LEFT! I'M PUSHING THEM OUT!" Korra roared startling them.
'Oh boy. I wonder if my Titan Counterpart went through this when Korra was in Labor with Twins?' Sean asked as she started up again.
"AHHHHHH!" Korra screamed before another cry was heard before the third was taken away.
"I don't...I don't think I can do it again." Korra said exhausted.
"You just got one more." Sean said making her groan as she started on the final baby.
"URGH! AHHHHHHH!" Korra screamed before she heard another cry before she sighed in relief it was over as Sean held her.
"It's over." Sean said holding her close.
"I...Am not doin this again...For a long time." Korra panted out making him chuckle as he kissed her.
The first one was brought to them in a blue blanket as Korra took him.
Her son had white skin and brown hair before he slowly began to open his eyes showing he had the same blue eyes as his mother before smiling at her making her tear up as she held him close.
"He's beautiful." Korra cried making Sean smile.
"Yeah." Sean said before she handed him to his father as he smiled at his son crying lightly. "Oh buddy. Your mom and I have been waiting a long time to see you four." Sean said as he giggled before he handed him back to his mother. "I think it's only fair you name the first one." Sean said making her smile.
"Sean Ashburn Kruger Junior." Korra said as Junior laughed at her.
Thats when the second one showed up in a blue Blanket before Korra held him.
He had a mix between his parent's skin color and his mother's brown hair before he slowly opened his eyes showing he had purple eyes like his Grandfather and smiled at them.
"Figures he inherit something from my parents." Sean said as Korra kissed him making him laugh.
"Hmm. Damian Kruger." Korra said as Damian laughed at her making her smile.
Thats when the third one also in a blue Blanket arrived as Sean took him.
He had his Mother's skin texture and hair before he opened his eyes showing he had his grandmother's eyes and smiled at them.
"Oh boy. Mom's gonna probably love him the most." Sean said as he laughed. "Hmm. Alexander." Sean said making Alexander laugh.
"Why pick that name?" Korra asked.
"I remember in a history lesson on the other Earth it was the name of someone who conquered Egypt and had honor. So why not name him after a Legend?" Sean asked making her smile.
"Alexander Kruger. Alex for Short." Korra said making Alex laugh.
Finally the last one was brought to them in a pink blanket as Korra held her daughter.
She had her mother's skin texture and hair before she slowly began to open her eyes showing she had her father's forest green eyes before smiling at them.
"She's beautiful." Korra said as she held her close. "I think you should name her." Korra said making him smile softly. "What is it?" Korra asked.
"I was thinking if we had a daughter we would..." Sean tried to say trying to find the right words.
"What is it?" Korra asked making him smile.
"I was thinking about naming her Katara." Sean said surprising her before small tears escaped her eyes as she kissed him.
"It's perfect." Korra said holding her daughter. "Welcome to the family Katara Kruger." Korra said as Katara laughed. "All four of you may have been unplanned but your no accidents." Korra said holding her babies close.
"I'm the one who's waited a million years for this! I'm going in!" Mana yelled.
"Oh man. Welp your about to meet your Grandmother." Sean said before Mana flew in.
"Awww." Mana said holding her mouth as she walked to them. "All four of you are just perfect." Mana said picking up Junior who laughed at his grandmother.
"Patient enough and ya finally get what you want." Sean said.
Soon the others walked in.
"Aww." Asami said holding Junior who laughed while Seto smirked.
"Something tells me he's gonna follow in his father's footsteps when he's older." Seto said making her grin.
"Oh yeah." Asami said.
"Aw. You are just so cute." Serenity said holding Damian who giggled.
"Come here." Joey said holding him up. "Uncle Joey is gonna make sure you turn into a pro duelist." Joey said before Damian sneezed fire making him yell in shock as he was covered in soot making the others laugh. "I think I'll wait on that actually." Joey said handing him back to his sister.
"Oh Joey." Mai said shaking her head.
"Welp they're gonna need something to help control their magic." Sean said.
"Hmm." Turok said looking at Alexander. He and the others arrived vie portal when the news came in. "Named after Alexander the Great huh?" Turok asked.
"What else would we call him?" Sean asked making him chuckle as he and Jinora looked at him as he snored.
Senna and Tonraq held their Granddaughter who snored lightly making them smile.
"So what are their names?" Yugi asked.
"The oldest is Junior who Asami is holding. The second oldest who just burned Joey is Damian. Third is Alex." Sean said.
"And her?" Senna asked looking at her granddaughter making them smile.
"We named her Katara." Sean said surprising Tenzin and his siblings.
"Now all we gotta do is find Zaheer and we can end this nightmare." Valon said.
"Fortunately we have inside information to get ahead of him." Sean said.
Meanwhile
Zaheer was with his group out in the forest.
"We checked everywhere near Paradise City. Neither of them are there." Ghazan said.
"Clearly they're somewhere." Ming-Hua said.
"They could have gone to that other Universe we heard about. We'd have no idea where they'd be if they went there." P'li said before Zaheer's eyes opened up.
"No. Their at the Metal Clan. And the Avatar has just given birth. Which makes our job much easier since she'll be in no condition to fight." Zaheer said.
"Perfect." Ming-Hua said grinning.
