Chapter 57 Terror Within
Its been a couple weeks since Korra gave birth to her children. Her three sons and her daughter.
Since then Everything was calm and peaceful at the Metal Clan.
Tenzin and his family went back to the Air Temple along with Turok and Jinora.
After the fight was over Suyin and Lin finally moved past what happened 30 years ago.
Right now though.
Korra smiled as she was breast feeding Katara as she held her close.
"Mommy loves you so much." Korra said.
Sean was on the bed holding Junior who was sound asleep while his brothers were in the crib the girls set up a week prior to Korra's labor.
"You know it doesn't surprise me at all that you'd be mother material so quick." Sean said making her smile as Katara finished and yawned as she fell asleep.
Both placed them in the crib next to their siblings.
"Hey check this out!" Joey said with some big package.
"Who's it from?" Korra asked as they walked out.
"It's from your counterpart. I wonder what she sent." Joey said.
"Hmm." Sean said looking into it before snickering.
"What is it?" Korra asked.
"It's for the kids I guess." Sean said pulling out Little PJ's that looked like Godzilla making her laugh as did the others.
"Oh this is bull." Reznov said pulling out ones that looked like Ghidorah and Destroyah.
"Welp, they'll like it without question. Hey." Sean said pulling one out that looked like Exodia. "I think your counterpart had these custom made." Sean said making her giggle.
"Well we all better get ready for tonight's dinner. It's Opal's farewell send off." Julia said making Bolin whine.
"Now I gotta say bye to Opal? This is the worst day ever." Bolin said.
"Be lucky we don't tell her how you acted when your movie got canceled." Joey said making him pale.
"You wouldn't do that would you?" Bolin asked nicely.
"We just might if you pull that again." Tristan said with his fist in the air.
"Sorry." Bolin said.
Later
Everyone was at the dining hall as the Chef put down Opal's favorite food.
"Thanks for making my favorite meal." Opal said.
"I'm really going to miss you, Opal. No one appreciates my raw veggie wraps like you do." The Chef said.
"Every time I eat Raw Kale, I'm gonna think of you." Bolin said sadly.
"Gag me." Reznov said.
"Same." Julia said.
"You are the most emotional guy next to Joey." Mokuba said annoyed.
"Hey!" Joey yelled annoyed making everyone laugh including the babies.
"Zhu Li! Bring the, uh, Thing!" Varrick said making her do just that. "Check out my latest invention. An Airbender finder." Varrick said.
"Wait, that can find airbenders?" Korra asked before Sean snatched it and crushed it.
"HEY! I'm trying to help you!" Varrick yelled.
"Let me guess. You have to airbend into it right?" Sean asked.
"How'd you know?" Varrick asked.
"You are an idiot. We want to find them without making it obvious. Thats how the queen found them and captured them." Sean said.
"Oh." Varrick said.
"If I could have your attention, please. Tonight, my beautiful little girl leaves for the Northern air temple. Opal, none of us could be more proud of you. You're an incredible daughter, sister, friend, and soon-to-be Airbending master." Suyin said kissing her head.
The twins cried a little while her second oldest just rolled his eyes.
"Here's to Opal. May she help lead us into the new era." Suyin said.
After dinner was over Opal was on an airship heading to the Air Temple.
"So we're set for the night?" Sean asked Seto.
"As long as everything goes according to plan."
Later during the night
Everyone currently in their rooms for the night.
However unknown to everyone though was that Unalaq and his group had infiltrated the Estate heading to where Sean and Korra were at.
Arriving outside their room they saw him and Korra asleep with a crib next to them.
Ming-Hua used her water bending to slowly make a hole to get in.
"Once the toxins knock them out we'll take them." Zaheer said.
"And what about the brats?" Ghazan asked.
"We'll take them with us." Zaheer said as Ming-Hua had darts in her water before launching them at the two.
But they just went right through.
"What the?" Ming-Hua said before going in and grabbed them but her water arms went right through them.
"Whats going on?" P'li asked confused.
"Isn't it obvious?" Sean asked above them making them widen their eyes seeing him, Rafael and Seto.
"You all just got played." Seto said.
"How did you know?" Zaheer asked in shock.
"We had some inside information. Now then." Sean said before pulling out Buster Blader's sword before trying to slash them as security rushed in.
"Oh this not what we planned for!" P'li yelled about to use combustion Bending before some device was thrown onto her head making her yell in shock as she was electrocuted and knocked out.
"P'li!" Zaheer yelled blasting Sean away before rushing to her.
"Whatever that thing is just knocked her out." Ghazan said using Lava Bending against Rafael and Seto who summoned their own Ancients.
Thats when secuirty started firing at them before Ming-Hua used her water bending to block all the bullets.
"I do not like being tricked." Ming-Hua said charging right at them.
Inside Korra and the babies were in Suyin's office with the others watching over her.
"Sounds like Godzilla's plan is working out after all." Valon said.
"Lets hope so." Yugi said.
Sean roared as he battled against Zaheer before slashing his chest making him groan in pain before Mako and Bolin rushed in and attacked him.
"I don't know how you knew we were coming or how you knew what we were gonna do but it won't stop us!" Zaheer said.
"Oh I know plenty about you." Sean said before Exodia began to appear and glared at Zaheer making him gasp in shock.
"You will pay for your actions." Exoida siad gathering energy.
"Ghazan!" Zaheer yelled making him nod before making a large amount of Lava to make some smoke before Zaheer began to disperse it all around.
"HEY!" Sean yelled getting blinded before it was gone as were Zaheer and his group. Along with Mako and Bolin.
"Their gone." Rafael said.
"Now onto the next part of the plan." Sean said.
Meanwhile
"What just happened?" P'li asked as Ming-Hua got the device off her head.
"I have no idea. It's like they knew exactly what we were gonna do before we even did it. Thats not possible though. We just went over this plan the night before." Zaheer said.
"Well, clearly they did know. They knew we'd go to their room and placed some illusion to fool us. Had security ready to ambush us right on the spot." Ghazan said.
"The question is how? Theres no way they'd know in perfect detail what were up to." Ming-Hua said before looking at Mako and Bolin out cold.
When Ghazan and Zaheer made the smoke screen she knocked them out and took them.
"We'll find out soon enough." Zaheer said.
Later
Sean and the remaining members of the group were interrogating Suyin's people to see if they knew anything.
Unfortunately no one was found Guilty due to Aiwei's truth seeking abilities.
The next one on the other hand.
"What was I doing last night?" Varrick asked. "Same thing I always do. From 9 to 10, I check my body for ticks. Lyme disease is a serious killer." Varrick said as everyone was getting very annoyed especially Sean and Seto. "Then I did my nightly Varri-calisthenics followed by 30 minutes of breath holding. I filmed the whole thing if you want to watch it." Varrick said before screaming as Sean nearly hit him with lightning.
"Did you or did you not sell us out? You've already proven you'll do anything for money like starting a war." Sean said annoyed.
"I keep telling you! War is good for business! It's not my fault if people die!" Varrick yelled making him growl as he walked to him. "I DID'T TELL ANYONE! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO ZAHEER WAS UNTIL TODAY! I SWEAR!" Varrick screamed in fear.
"He's telling the truth." Aiwei said as Varrick bolted.
The next suspect was around Korra's age.
"Give me your name and tell me where you are from." Aiwei said.
"I'm Hong Li. I was born and raised here in Zaofu." Li said.
"Do you have any knowledge of the people who attempted to kidnap Kruger's wife?" Aiwei said.
"No." Li said making him frown leaning forward.
"Did you help the attackers enter Zaofu last night?" Aiwei asked.
"No, of course not." Li said making him narrow his eyes.
"You're lying." Aiwei said shocking him.
"What? No, I'm not!" Li yelled.
"How did they get in and out! I want answers!" Suyin yelled.
"I don't know I swear!" Li yelled.
"You're a traitor to the entire clan." Suyin said.
"I suggest we search his place." Aiwei said.
When they arrived they searched the place.
"I got something." Valon said finding a note.
"Yeah?" Rafael asked.
"It looks like it's from them. Team Assembled. Ready to rendezvous." Valon said.
"And look at this." Asami said with a book in hand before Aiwei read it.
"These are the Guards log books. All their schedules and routes are in here." Aiwei said.
"That guard knows everything. We have to get him to talk." Tristan said.
"Then lets make him talk." Joey said.
"No. Let's give him time to sweat it out." Aiwei said
"Time to sweat out a false confession based on evidence you planted?" Seto asked shocking him.
"I...What are you talking about?" Aiwei asked before Sean's blade was at his neck.
"Guys what are you doing?" Asami asked.
"The truth is he's the one who got them in and out." Seto said.
"You are making blind accusations." Aiwei said calmly.
"I think your forgetting we have inside information. From my Titan Counterpart who went through these exact same events five years ago." Sean said shocking him. "I know about the Red Lotus." Sean said.
"Red Lotus?" Asami asked.
"It's a group formed from an old member of the White Lotus shortly after the end of the Hundred year war. And we know where your going to meet Zaheer. At Xai Bau's grove. Named after the founder of the group." Sean said shocking him further. "What I want to know however though is what this is about? In the Titan universe your goal was to separate the Titans from their hosts because you were under the false ideal that the Titans were being forced to stay inside them not knowing it was their choice to remain inside their hosts." Sean said.
"Thats absurd. Why would they do that?" Aiwei asked.
"Because they had a bond. And we spoke to the Titans on several occasions. I know their telling the truth. But Zaheer did Separate Godzilla from my counterpart only to regret it when he learned he was wrong despite the fact he was told that on several occasions but he wouldn't listen." Sean said shocking him. "So what are you all up to?" Sean asked.
"Our goal is bring back the Golden years of the Ancients long before Zorc arrived. But for that to happen...You must be eliminated." Aiwei said glaring at Sean.
"Excuse me?" Sean asked.
"We know what you are. You are the reason the Ancients cannot remain in this world for long because you force them to leave this world. Your power is what keeps them from fully staying in this world. And you steal and abuse their power and use them for your own gains. Therefor the Last Guardian must be eliminated. Along with your spawns." Aiwei said before grunting as Sean punched him.
"Like the Titan universe you got it all wrong. I don't force them away they do that on their own to go back to their world so Zorc can't corrupt them." Sean said confusing him.
"What are you talking about?" Aiwei asked.
"The truth is the Guardians are what you would call living Gateways. We're the reason they can come into this world since they destroyed their own gateways." Sean said.
"That is a lie! Why would they do that!" Aiwei yelled.
"To prevent Zorc from following them." Sean said shocking him. "I don't think you fully realize what that thing is capable of doing. He already corrupted Exodia Necros a million years ago. And I didn't even know what I was until Obelisk faked my death to get me away from the White Lotus who planned to kill me for some misguided fear. And more importantly I'm also half Ancient." Sean said shocking him.
"Thats...Thats impossible." Aiwei said.
"But it's true. My mother the Dark Magician Girl also known as Mana was pregnant with me when she was a Guardian. Normally when someone dies the Ancient is set free into their world while the person who held that Ancient inside them go to either heaven or hell. A guardian however merges both of them together. When she became an ancient I was still pregnant inside her and she gave birth still. I was the first half Human Half Ancient in history. And Zorc is afraid of me because of this." Sean said shocking him further.
"So in other words your group is trying to kill our best shot against him because they don't understand what a Guardian really is." Seto said.
"I can't believe this." Aiwei said in shock.
"No matter what Universe the Red Lotus are full of fools." Sean said before Pegasus's security took him away.
"So now we know why Zaheer is after you in this universe. But why was he after Korra this time?" Asami said.
"Aiwei said they wanted to restore the golden years of the Ancients. They probably see the avatar as a threat to that and wants the Avatar Cycle eliminated." Sean said.
"So where is he gonna go now?" Seto asked.
"My counterpart said he wanted to make a statement to the world. And he did through the murder of one person." Sean said.
Meanwhile
Zaheer and the Red Lotus were driving in a truck to Ba Sing Se with Mako and Bolin tied up.
"If you think holding us hostage will give you some leverage against Sean, you're gonna be disappointed." Mako said.
"Can't we just enjoy our time together in silence?" Ming-Hua asked annoyed.
"So you guys were, like, locked up for 15 years? That must have been, like, crazy boring." Bolin said.
"It felt more like 30. Those Ancients did a number on us when we first showed up." Ghazan said.
"So, what did you do with all that time? Did you sing songs, work on crafts?" Bolin asked.
"Do I look like I can use crafts?" Ming-Hua asked annoyed looking at her severed arms.
"What happened to your arms?" Bolin asked making her look ready to explode.
"THOSE ANCIENTS BLEW THEM OFF!" Ming-Hua roared making him shrink.
"Sorry." Bolin whimpered.
"I must have renamed the constellations about a thousand times. When it rained, that was a big event." Ghazan said.
"I would have killed for some rain." Ming-Hua said. "Mostly I just made up stories about the guards. Who was having trouble with his girlfriend? Which one secretly wished he became a pastry chef." Ming-Hua said.
"Ooh, Okay, that sounds like fun. Let me try that on you guys." Bolin said before looking at Ghazan. "You were raised by an older Sister. Your mustache grew in when you were ten. And I'm sensing...Just sensing...An unspoken attraction between you two." Bolin said making him and Ming-Hua look at each other.
"Two out of three. Not Bad." Ghazan said. (I seriously think the second one was the one he missed)
"Bolin, will you stop making friends with the bad guys?" Mako asked.
"Sorry." Bolin said.
"Ghazan, gag those two. We're almost there." Zaheer said as they drove to Ba Sing Se.
Later
"Where is that freak of Nature?" The Queen asked.
"We are still looking my queen but the odds are he is probably in the other universe. Beyond your reach." Gun said making her growl in rage.
Ever since their last confrontation the Queen has lost almost everything. The Ancients began to take control of the Kingdom bringing back the riches she believed were rightfully her's. Even her army was no longer obeying her commands.
She had sent the Dai Li to kill people at Random but that failed since the Mid Level Ancients stopped them and destroyed them without a scratch which enraged her.
"This is outrageous!" The Queen yelled.
"However we do have some news about his allies. Some men have captured two of his allies and are willing to bring them to you to talk." Gun said.
"Is that so? Very well. Bring them to me." The Queen said interested in this.
Bolin and Mako were thrown down in front of her.
"Ah I remember these two. I'll make examples out of them. Now tell me where Kruger is along with his spawns so I may take them to take over the universe and the multiverse!" The Queen demanded.
"You won't get the chance. We just needed an easy way to get in here. I plan to kill Kruger myself. Along with his children." Zaheer said making her more angry.
"INSECTS! DAI LI KILL THEM!" The queen roared before her best warriors came out.
Sadly however they proved to be no match for Zaheer and his Red Lotus. (The white Lotus aren't the only ones who went down hill)
Thats when Gun ran away in fear.
"GUN! GET BACK HERE AND DEFEND YOUR QUEEN YOU BASTARD!" The Queen yelled.
"He's the smart one." Zaheer said walking to her making her seethe in rage.
"I AM THE QUEEN OF THE EARTH KINGDOM! AND SOON I WILL RULE THE MULTIVERSE! NOW BOW BEFORE ME!" The Queen roared making him raise an eyebrow.
"How bout this." Zaheer said before air formed around her before going inside her mouth as she slowly began to expand to concerning proportions.
Thats when she exploded sending her blood and guts everywhere.
"Eww." P'li said disgusted.
"Did you really have to do that?" Ghazan asked watching his steps.
"I don't mind." Ming-Hua said.
Later
Zaheer, P'li and Ming-Hua arrived at the radio station.
"Hey, you can't be in here."
"No need for alarm. I just need to make an announcement to the entire city. How do I do that?" Zaheer asked.
"Who do you think you are?"
Ming-Hua grabbed him by the throat.
"He's the man who just took down the Earth Queen. You wanna be next?" Ming-Hua threatened.
"Ming-Hua, please. We're here to help citizens like him, not hurt them." Zaheer said calming her down. "Now, can you help me?" Zaheer asked making him nod before setting everything up.
"Attention, citizens of Ba Sing Se. I have an important announcement to make. Moments ago, the Earth Queen was brought down at the hands of revolutionaries, including myself. I'm not going to tell you my name, Cause my identity's not important. I'm not here to take over the Earth Kingdom. I think you've had enough of leaders telling you what to do. It's time for the Ancients to take back control and put an end to the tyrants who took away all your freedoms." Zaheer said.
Outside Ghazan was by the wall that separated people from one another before he Lava Bent it bringing it down as people cheered.
Mako and Bolin were still tied up before Zaheer untied them.
"I'm letting you go. But I want you to deliver a message to Kruger for me." Zaheer said.
