AN Just wanted to warn you there is a bit of violence in this chapter, and you get to see what I mean when I say Saphira is more villain than anything, at least for now, anyway.

Chapter 10: Stealing The Tesseract

Saphira and Loki appeared on Midgard somehow by going through the tesseract, which shocked the Midgardains that had been hanging around it when they appeared; they all stood there watching them in shock, Loki was kneeled in front of Saphira, facing the crowd, with one knee up, his scepter in his hand; Saphira stood behind him, with her hands on her hips. Loki stood up straight; he reached back and took Saphira's hand, then walked forward.

"Sir, please put the spear down." Nick Fury called to them; Loki let go of Saphira's hand, looked down at his scepter, then back up at the man, and then shot a blast of energy out of the scepter at him, Clint Barton tackled Fury, knocking him out of the way, And the shot hit another guy, Loki then ran forward as bullets flew at him, but they just bounced off; he blasted a few more guys back, then he stabbed one with the tip of the scepter and kicked one away; threw a dagger at another.

Saphira didn't know what it was, but she was enjoying watching Loki take out all of these agents by himself; a room full of Midgardains was no match for the God Of Mischief, and she loved it. She was smiling big as she watched Loki blast some agents away with green magic; Saphira knew he was having fun with them; he could kill them all in one go if he wanted, but to Loki, this was more fun. And Saphira enjoyed watching, and the way Loki kept doing that jaw thing, she loved seeing him do. She decided they needed to attack people more often.

While she was watching Loki, an agent came up behind Saphira and grabbed her from behind; Saphira rolled her eyes and bent over, flipping him over her back and onto the floor, another one came upon her holding a gun, Saphira grabbed the arm with the weapon twisted it, making him drop it, he then came back with his other arm, trying to punch her, Saphira stopped it too, the guy she had flipped over her shoulder got back up, and grabbed her, Saphira let go of the other guy, brought her elbow back and hit the guy in the face as hard as she could, breaking his nose. Then she grabbed his arm, flipped him over her back again, sending him right into the other agent she was fighting.

A third agent came at her from the side; by then, the commotion had gotten Loki's attention, and as Saphira fought him off, Loki made a dagger appear, flipped it, and smirked.

"Darling," Loki called, then tossed the dagger; Saphira reached out and caught it by the handle, then raised the dagger and stabbed the agent with it, right between his neck and the collar bone, his eyes went wide, and he stumbled back, Saphira turned from him, and walked toward Loki, dusting off her hands, as if she hadn't just stabbed someone.

"Loki," Saphira warned as Clint Barton tried to come at him from behind, but she didn't have to, he had already sensed him, and Loki swung around and caught Barton's arm and stopped him.

"You have heart," Loki said, then he pressed the tip of the scepter to Barton's chest, and his eyes turned blue, and he backed up and put his gun back in the holster on his leg.

"I fought him once," Saphira told Loki. "He's a good fighter."

"Good," Loki replied; he smiled at Saphira before moving on and getting another agent under his control.

"Please don't." Loki said," I still need that."

At first, Saphira didn't know who Loki was talking to until she looked to see Nick Fury holding a silver case, in which she guessed he had put the tesseract in it.

"This doesn't have to get any messier than it already is." Fury said.

"Of course, it does," Loki said. "I've come too far for it to not. " He paused a moment glancing around; "I am Loki of Asgard, and I come burden with glorious purpose." He motioned to Saphira, "This is Saphira of Asgard, who has come to aid me in my quest."

"Alfheim," Saphira replied; Loki glanced at her questioning. She suddenly looked depressed as she said in a low voice. "I am no longer a citizen of Asgard, so I guess I am Saphira, Princess of Alfheim."

"Loki?" Erik Selvig asks; before Loki could reply to her. "Brother of Thor?" Loki looked his way with an annoyed look on his face, Saphira herself felt annoyed.

"We have no quarrel with your people." Fury said.

"An ant has no quarrel with a boot," Loki said.

"Are you planning on stepping on us?" Fury demanded.

"I've come with glad tidings," Loki said, walking forward and stopping just in front of Selvig; he turned to Fury. "And a world made free."

"Made free from what?" Fury demanded.

"Freedom, " Loki said, "Freedom is life's greatest lie, once you know that in your heart." He turned around real fast and stuck the specter into Selvig's chest; his eyes turned blue like Barton's. "You'll find peace."

"You say peace, but I think you mean something else." Fury said; he looked at Saphira. "Do you agree with him?"

"He has a point." Saphira said," Besides, I had nothing else to do being stuck in prison and all."

"Prison?" Fury demanded.

"Yeah, when you try to attack the King of Asgard and wish him dead, it gets you locked up for some reason." Saphira shrugged; Loki looked at her in surprise, then grinned.

"Oh, you have to tell me that story," Loki said. Saphira grinned at him, and laid her hand on his arm and gave it a gentle squeeze; he wasn't looking good, the dark circles under his eyes now stood out more in the bright light of the room, his face was sweaty, he was pale, and he sounded tired.

"Freeze, don't move!" Someone shouted; Loki and Saphira looked behind them to see about six agents with guns drawn; they looked at each other, both raising their eyebrows, then Loki grinned and nodded towards them, and Saphira smiled.

"It'll be my pleasure," Saphira said; she turned and stepped towards them and held out one hand; the agents shouted as they were lifted in the air, floating around like an astronaut in space. Saphira then threw her other hand out, and a gust of wind blew them away, and out of sight, you could hear some gunshots as a few dropped their weapons. Saphira turned back around and smirked at everyone's shocked look.

"Look, I don't know what you plan to do here." Fury said, "But you have killed a lot of my men..."

"Oh, I only mean to rule this realm," Loki said, "Be King, make it better."

"Even if you have to kill dozens of innocent people to do it?" Fury demanded. "How is that making it better?"

"Isn't that how most empires came to be on this planet?" Saphira asked. Loki looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"What?" Fury demanded.

"It's happened throughout Midgardain history," Saphira said, "One country invading another, taking over, stealing land that isn't theirs's becoming the rulers, wars fought over it, bloodshed."

"Yes, well, think you for the history lesson." Fury answered, "But the last school bell rung for me a long time ago."

"Do not judge Loki and me for doing the same thing Midgardains themselves have been doing for centuries," Saphira said. "

"Sir, " Barton walked up to Loki, "Director Fury is stalling; this place is about to blow; he means to burry us."

"He's right," Selvig added after checking something on the computer.

"Like the Pharaohs of old." Fury said.

"Well, then," Loki said, putting his arm around Saphira's shoulders; Barton pulled out his gun and shot Fury, then they walked toward him. Barton grabbed the silver case as they walked by, they got a few feet, and Loki suddenly bent over and almost tripped.

"Loki?" Saphira asked, worried as she put her arms around his waist to help hold him up.

"I am fine," Loki assured her; as they made it outside, Barton said something to Maria Hill. They all headed toward some trucks parked there; Loki once again stumbled, getting into the back of one, and immediately started assuring Saphira he was okay before she could even say anything. Then they both looked towards Hill, as Fury's voice came through her walkie talking, either Barton's shot had missed him or Fury was wearing a builtpoof vest, most likely the second, but Hill pulled her gun out and aimed at them as the truck started and pulled out of the parking spot.

Maria Hill started shooting at them, and then jumped in a truck and chased after them, along with more agents, who were all shooting at them; Loki grabbed the bar that went across the back and stood up, then started blasting at them with his scepter, there was a brief car chase, where Barton and Maria Hill shot at each other, and Hill tried to block Barton's car; he got around her, and at some point, Loki blasted a vehicle that ended up flipping over on its top, preventing the others from giving chase as they speed away out of the tunnel; Loki sat back down next to Saphira as they watched the ground caving in, so, Barton and Salvig had been right it was caving in.

They had a brief break from being chased, where they got past SHIELD and were driving down a small road, surrounded by fields when a helicopter appeared firing at them; they looked up to see Fury was the one in it shooting at them; Loki groaned and went to stand, but Saphira grabbed his arm.

"Let me," Saphira said, standing; she motioned with her hand; the wind caught the helicopter's blades, making it fly out of control. Saphira saw Fury jump from it, as she snapped her fingers, the aircraft exploded, with a loud bang, parts going everywhere.

Saphira sat back down next to Loki, looked over at him, and grinned; he had a shocked look on his face, then smiled.

"Remind me never to piss you off," Loki said.

Saphira laughed, then leaned in and kissed him when she pulled back, wrapped her arms around his one arm, and laid her head on his shoulder, or at least tried to, but the metal thing on the top of the shoulder part of his outfit made it too uncomfortable, and Saphira sat back up. They were able to get away; they rode in silence for a while before either of them spoke again.

"Did you try to attack Odin? "Loki asked. Saphira smiled a little and slipped her hand in his.

"After you fell from the bridge, I passed out again; I didn't regain consciousness until the following day; at first, I was confused and didn't remember what happened," Saphira explained. "When I remembered I was angry, everyone kept trying to get me to believe you were dead. I blamed Odin and Thor's friends for everything. Odin accused me of being at fault, and I tried to attack him, but Thor held me back, and I told Odin you were a better King than he will ever be, didn't deny helping you, then told him I wished him dead. Before allowing them to take me to the dungeons. I didn't put up a fight because I knew you would find your way back to Asgard and get me out."

"That's my girl." Loki grinned as Saphira laid her head back on his shoulder again groaned and raised up again; Loki laughed a little at her aggravation.

"Why are you even wearing that God-awful ugly outfit?" Saphira demanded, reaching up and knocking on the metal piece attached to the shoulder.

"Just trying out a new look, darling." Loki grinned. Saphira glared at him, only amusing Loki farther. "Come here, sweetheart."

Loki held his arms out to her, and after they arranged his outfit, so there wasn't any metal or straps in her way, Saphira was able to snuggle into Loki's arms and lay her head on his chest. She had both arms around Loki's waist, and her leg bent in a way; her knee was lying on Loki's leg and closed her eyes.

"So, you do not like my new outfit," Loki said. "What do you think about my hair?"

"It looks awful," Saphira mumbled without opening her eyes.

"Awful?" Loki asked, sounding insulted; Saphira giggled.

"Yes, it looks like you have a tiny burnt Christmas tree attached to your head," Saphira answered.

"Oh, I'll get you back for that comment, darling," Loki warned; Saphira giggled again; she knew Loki was joking; he wouldn't do anything to hurt her.

Saphira opened her eyes and looked up at him with a grin; Loki leaned his head down and kissed her; Saphira tightened her hold around Loki's waist and tried to get closer to him as the kiss lasted longer than after a minute, maybe a little less, the kiss ended, then after a couple of pecks on the lips, then a second real kiss, they pulled apart, and Saphira got back in the position she was in, but this time kept her eyes open.

After a few seconds, Saphira glanced down, and her eyes fell on Loki's scepter lying next to him on the other side; it was lying with the pointy part pointing up towards them, and Saphira just stared at it, not able to pull her eyes away, the more Saphira looked, the brighter the glowing blue seemed to get. But that wasn't what intrigued her; inside the blue light, she could swear she saw a bit of a yellow. Without realizing what she was doing, Saphira reached her hand out slowly, almost as if in a trance. Saphira wanted; she needed to touch it. Unknown to her, her eyes were now glowing yellow; she could swear she heard a bird screeched as her hand got closer.

Saphira's hand was just inches away, almost about to touch it when Loki's hand suddenly slipped it to hers, and he pulled it away; Saphira blinked and was able to tear her eyes away, the sound of the bird went away, and her eyes went back to normal.

"Remember what I said, my love?" Loki asks gently, "It is a powerful, dangerous mind-controlling weapon. Please, do not touch it."

"I'm sorry, baby, I don't know what came over me; it was like it hypnotized me or something," Saphira explained.

"It's alright, darling, not your fault," Loki replied. He let go of her hand long enough to toss part of his jacket over the scepter covering it. Then took her hand back in his and held it, almost like an extra precaution; he was going to make sure she didn't touch it.

"Loki, " Saphira said, "Will you tell me what happened to you when you fell from the bridge? Who is this benefactor you mentioned, and why did it take you so long to get back to me?"

Loki didn't say anything for a long moment; he stared down at her hand in his, taking his thumb and rubbing it across her ring finger, as if playing with an invisible ring, he smiled a little, before his smile fell, then Loki took a deep breath and begun telling her his tale.

"It felt like I was falling into darkness for an eternity before I landed on a planet where there was this thing that called himself The Other. He had an army of creatures called the Chitauri; he wanted me to go to Earth and retrieve the tesseract for him, to give to whom The Other worked for, I refused; I had no interest in going to Midgard or any other place, I just wanted to get back to Asgard, I needed to make sure you were okay, even if I was going to be in trouble over what I had done, but The Other did not care for what I wanted, nor was he happy over my refusal to help him, I was a little weak from the fall, I had nothing to eat or drink for days so when he captured me I wasn't able to put up much of a fight...for the next few months I was held captive and tortured by him and others, but I would not give in, no matter what they did, no matter what pain I went through I told them no, then someone else showed up, and he had abilities, not unlike your sister's, and I faught him off at first, but in the end he broke through my mind, and dug through my thoughts and memories and found the one they could use to threaten to get me to do what they wanted."

"Me." Saphira guessed. Loki nodded.

"He found out about my love for you through my memories, so they threatened to go after you if I did not comply with them; I had no choice; I could not allow anything to happen to you." Loki went on. "after letting me know just what would happen to you if I did not do as they wished, I was thrown back in a cell so that I could think it over, it took four days before they came back to find out my decision, so I agreed, they gifted me the scepter. I got them to agree that I could stop by Asgard on my way and pick you up, so you could help. I wanted you by my side, so I would know you were okay, and they couldn't go after you when I cross them."

"So, if you didn't want to do all of this," Saphira asked. "Then what was all that at SHEILD? The speeches and blasting people and stuff?"

"After a lot of thinking, I have decided I would not mind winning the Earth," Loki said. He held out a hand, and green magic flickered, and a rolled-up note appeared in his hand. "We could not rule Asgard, so why not Midgard? " Loki handed her the letter. "That will explain everything, do not read it out loud. Do not want to risk anyone hearing."

Saphira sat up so she could unroll the note and read it to herself; it explained that Loki wrote it before he told his captures of his decision, how he planned to win Earth, and his plan of double-crossing his captives after succeeding in winning, killing their army and keeping the tesseract, and why he couldn't tell Saphira this himself. When she finished reading the note, she memorized the letter, then did as Loki asked in the end and burnt it. She turned to him and grinned.

"I didn't care much for Midgard when living here." Saphira said, "But with you ruling and me Queen, we could make this realm a lot better." Loki grinned as she leaned in and kissed him. "I promise you, those who hurt you will pay one day. No matter how long it takes."

Loki said nothing as Saphira snuggled into him, the same as she had been before. Loki felt honored that she wanted to get revenge for him, but he wished she would not try; Thanos and his Black Order were far too dangerous; yes, Saphira can hold her own in a fight; after her father gave up on making any warrior out of her, Loki took up teaching her himself, he wanted the woman he loved to be able to protect herself if needed. Between the training her father paid for her to have and what Loki taught her, he knows what a good fighter Saphira was. Still, she's never faced anything like Thanos, and he preferred her to stay realms away from the mad titan. Loki himself wants nothing more to do with them once his mission and plan succeeded.

Saphira yawned but tried to keep her eyes open. Loki watched her struggle to stay awake after not sleeping well last few months, and the fight at SHIELD was all starting to get to her. Loki smiled and gently squeezed her hand.

"You can rest, my love, "Loki told her. "I'll wake you when we get there."

"I love you, handsome," Saphira told him, letting her eyes close.

"And I love you, sweetheart." Loki kissed the top of her head. They fell into a comfortable silence as Saphira fell asleep, enjoying the cold night air hitting her face and wind blowing through her hair; she loved being outside again.

AN Yes, there is a reason Saphira seemed drawn to the Mind Stone, and reason for her eyes turning color; I have this whole plan for her in my head, and some chapters are even written; it'll be explained much later.

AN this all will make my story change from MCU Plot after Avengers, and chapters will be even slower when I've posted all the ones I have per written. Though I am not sure if I'll skip Ultron or show Enid and Thor a part of it, change it a bit.

Sorry, this chapter is a bit short; I even added things trying to make it longer, but this is all that fit into it.
