AN I know this chapter is short, but I can't think of anything else or fit anything else in here. It might be a little boring, but after this chapter, the good stuff starts happening.

Chapter 13: Home in Nevada.

Saphira was at her house relaxing; she had her long copper hair pulled back in a braid, she was wearing a pair of jeans with holes in them and a pink crop shirt, Saphira was sitting on her couch, her legs propped up on the coffee table, one crossed over the other, a bowl of strawberries sat next to her, and a glass of champagne sat on the end table next to the couch; a magazine laid across her lap, as Saphira quietly flipped through it, she had the radio turned on, playing some of her favorite songs, as her lioness friend Lucy laid on the couch next to her, Lucy's three cubs were in the floor, one was curled up asleep, and two were wrestling around, they had gotten a lot bigger since Saphira saw them last.

It had been three days since she and Loki came here; three nights since she and Loki had gone to Las Vegas and got married. The thought made Saphira look at the rings on her finger and smile; Saphira's engagement ring had an ice blue diamond sat in the middle of a flower, the band on her ring was made like the wedding ring and fit into it perfectly when trying to decide which were the perfect ones, Loki pointed them out and mentioned how the diamonds matched her eyes. Saphira loved them because of the leaves and flowers on them.

At the moment, Loki wasn't there; he had gone to check on how everything was going. He hadn't been since the day they stole that device for Selvig. He had been gone for hours, and Loki left Barton here to guard the place in case anyone from SHIELD or the military showed up; he could distract them while Saphira got away since she wanted to stay home instead of going with Loki like last time. And she didn't understand but was glad that no one had shown up here yet; what happened at Area 51 had been all over the news, but not the whole story, just the tiny earthquake she had caused and the explosion, which she hadn't meant to do, and the report said, they put it out before it spared to nearby buildings. However, a few people were hurt, no one got killed.

Everyone at the base was keeping what actually happened a secret. The authorities kept the deaths secret, too, because Loki had killed a couple of those guys at least, but they did not report on Loki's attack, the stolen device, or any deaths. And they refused to talk to reporters or make a statement about what happened; Saphira figured they were afraid of secrets getting out, plus didn't want to look like fools. She wasn't going to complain, though, because the longer they kept quiet, the longer there weren't pictures from the security camera of her and Loki that popped up on the TV.

Saphira heard someone arrive outside; she knew who it was and smiled as she fought the urge to run out to him. Instead, she took a bite out of another strawberry as she turned a page in her magazine; moments later, there was the sound of a vehicle leaving, and then the door opened, and Loki walked in. Lucy jumped down from the couch and went to him; he scratched behind her ear for a moment, then Lucy went over to the door wanting out and Loki went over and opened it for her; Lucy and the three cubs ran out.

"How did it go?" Saphira asked without looking up; Loki sat his secptor in a chair, then took his suit jacket off and tossed it over the back of it before sitting down next to Saphira. He was wearing black dress pants and a white blouse with a black tie.

"Everything is going as planned," Loki answered, popping his feet up on the table like Saphira's was; she looked over at him and smiled.

"Did Barton leave with them?" Saphira asked, picking up her glass of champagne and taking a drink.

"Indeed," Loki answered, grinning as he stole a strawberry out of the bowl. "Two more days, and we go to Germany to the gala, and after that, start our next stage in the plan."

"Excellent?" Saphira said. "You can handle all that with the eye, though; I am not touching it."

"Nobody is going to have to touch the eye, darling." Loki chuckled.

"Good, because that's gross," Saphira said, sitting her magazine down and heading toward the kitchen; when in the kitchen, she grabbed her bottle of champagne and a second glass and headed back to the living room.

"Thirsty, handsome?" Saphira asked, handing Loki the glass then pouring champagne in it. Loki's eyes traveled up and down Saphira's body before going back to her face when she got done pouring his drink

"Thank you," Loki said, lifting the glass to his lips as Saphira sat back down next to him and turned sideways so she could face him as she refilled her glass.

"We'll have to be careful when we start the final battle," Saphira said. "I know they'll probably be casualties, but I don't want too much death."

"Nor do I," Loki answered. "I want us to be loved more than feared by our future subjects."

"Loki." Saphira frowned at him.

"We'll do our best; that's all we can do, darling," Loki said, taking a drink of his champagne.

"First thing I will do after we win is to go see my sister," Saphira said. "I felt bad not being able to go see her when we got married. Enid's probably gone crazy with worry."

"Probably," Loki replied, biting into another strawberry, as Saphira refilled his glass before sitting the bottle on the table. "I know you wish your sister could have been there for our wedding, darling; maybe after we win, we'll celebrate our marriage, and she can be there."

"Yeah, okay," Saphira replied with a smile. Loki was doing his best to cheer her up when she felt down about Enid, and Saphira truly appreciates it.

"Did Barton behave while I was gone?" Loki asks, changing the subject.

"He stayed on the roof mostly," Saphira answered. "I took him something to drink at one time and chatted with him. Did you know under the influence of your secptor he can be very chatty when asked questions?"

"Really?" Loki asked.

"Yep, did you know he is married with children?" Saphira asked.

"Barton does not seem like the father type," Loki replied. "Never would have guessed."

Saphira shrugged and picked up another strawberry. "I have started calling him Barty; I don't think he cares much for the name, though."

"Probably not." Loki smiled.

"I almost feel bad for leaving that burn scar on his arm last time I was here," Saphira said.

"You're how he got that?" Loki asked, remembering being a little curious about the almost handprint-shaped scar that stuck out a little above Barton's armbands.

"Yeah, last time he and I fought." Saphira answered," That night, you took me to Asgard."

"Must have hurt," Loki remarked, smirking a little. He knew he shouldn't find amusement in someone else's pain but loved the fact that Saphira had never been helpless when it comes to protecting herself, even before he started training her to fight, to help make sure she wasn't.

"Once we win, I want him relished from the scepter's control, sweetie. He has children; they'll need him." Loki looked at her for a moment, then nodded his head.

"He will not be needed anymore after that anyway," Loki replied.

"So, everything is going to happen in a few days from now," Saphira asked.

"Indeed, it is." Loki grinned. "Everything so far is going as planned."

"Excellent ." Saphira grinned as she allowed Loki to have the last strawberry, then moved the bowl to the table. and moved closer to Loki; she put her leg on the couch, her knee now lying on Loki's leg. "I missed you."

"I missed you too, sweetheart," Loki replied, laying his hand on her leg and rubbing his thumb crossed her knee. "How expensive is Midgardain clothing?"

"It depends on if you buy name-brand clothes and where you get them." Saphira answered, "Why?"

"All the money you and Enid made on this realm, and you can not afford new clothes? Ones without holes?" Loki asked.

"Hey, " Saphira cried. "These jeans are kind of new, I bought them like this, and they were not cheap."

"You willingly pay money for tore up clothes?" Loki asked, raising his eyebrows.

"I thought they looked cute," Saphira replied.

"You want holes in your trousers, just cut them in the ones you already have," Loki told her.

"I think you need some fashion lessons." Saphira teased.

"Yes, I am the one that needs fashion tips," Loki replied. "Out of the two of us, Darling, who is the one wearing ripped-up trousers?"

"I wouldn't talk if I was you, handsome." Saphira said, "With that helmet of yours with the giant horns."

"Ah, the helmet that annoys you." Loki grinned. "How about you leave my helmet alone, and I leave your tore up trousers alone."

"Deal." Saphira grinned. "Think I'll have to teach you about Midgardain fashion."

"What a marvelous idea," Loki replied, obviously being sarcastic.

"I love you," Saphira said as Loki pulled away. "Even if you have no fashion taste."

"And I love you more." Loki grinned, leaning back in for a kiss.

"I can't wait until this is all over, and we've won and are enjoying the rest of our lives ruling Midgard together," Saphira said.

"Nor can I, darling," Loki said. He undid his tie, then took it off and tossed it over on the chair.

"What if we don't win," Saphira asked. "They'll lock us up; and separate us again."

"Then, I'll break out and find you again," Loki said. "We will escape to some other realm, be happy there." He leaned in and kissed Saphira again, then pulled back. "No matter how long it takes, that's a promise. Plus, if it looks as if we are going to lose, we can always escape if we can."

Saphira smiled at him as Loki laid down, putting his head in her lap. Saphira ran her hands through his hair.

"Our plan will work out," Saphira said. "It has too."

"Try not to worry so much, darling," Loki said.

"We just have to stick to the plan, no Sif or Idiots Three, to mess it up this time," Saphira answered. Loki chuckled at what Saphira called The Warriors Three.

"Soon, we will be going to that gala; I'll deal with the eye, and then we cause some mischief and get noticed," Loki said.

"Those so-called heroes show up, and after a little fighting, we let ourselves get captured." Saphira finished.

"I get captured; you do not," Loki told her. "You have something else you have to do, love."

"I don't like being separated from each other." Saphira frowned. "Not when they'll be arresting you."

"I will be fine, and It will only be for a day, then Barton will attack the ship; I'll meet you at Stark Towers." Loki said, "that's when the battle will begin. We win, rule Earth and never be part again." Saphira sighed and stopped running her hand through Loki's hair; he sat up and grinned at her pouting.

"Would a gift cheer you up, my love?" Loki asked.

"Depends," Saphira answered. "What kind of gift?"

Loki held up his hand, and a little box was suddenly in it; Saphira looked at it and slowly started to grin.

"You already have a dress for the gala, but I thought you could use something to go with it." Loki told her, "It may not be ruined clothes, but I think you will like it."

Saphira grabbed the box from him, and opened it, and grinned; Loki had bought her a diamond necklace.

"Loki, it's beautiful," Saphira said, rubbing her hand crossed it.

"Only the best for my Queen," Loki said, with a smile on his face; after a moment of staring at it, Saphira closed the box and set it on the end table, then leaned in and kissed him.

"You're the best," Saphira said, then kissed him again.

"I know," Loki smirked, then leaned in for another kiss, they pulled apart, and Saphira slipped her fingers into Loki's and laid her head on his shoulder. Loki picked up the remote sitting next to him, turned off the radio, and turned on the tv, flipping through the channels until he found something interesting, and he and Saphira sat there and watched it, snuggled together.

AN Not much to put here; I know the chapter is shot and not must to it, but the good stuff starts happening in the next chapter, so yeah, have a few more chapters rewritten, so probably start having slow updates soon, sorry.

If I can, I might have the next chapter up by tonight or in the morning.
