Chapter 15 The Beginning of A Plan

Enid was baffled as to why Phil Coulson came knocking on her office door and immediately demanded Enid go with him once she opened said door. Oh, she would have loved for Saphira to be here to witness this; the snarky comebacks that would be flying from her mouth would be pretty entertaining. But her little sister wasn't here and hasn't been for a long time, and Enid wondered if she would even see her or Thor again; they had both took off to Asgard, and Enid hadn't seen either since.

"Look, I know you are probably busy, but believe me, you will want to come with me." Coulson had said when Enid refused to leave.

"Fine." Enid sighed. She picked up her phone and called one of her managers and put them in charge, and after a few choice words, Enid followed him out and got in their SUV and went with him; she was curious about what Coulson wanted and was sure she could get herself away if she got into trouble. The SUV drove to an airfield, where Coulson had Enid get on a jet and flew her to a ship out in the middle of the ocean. Coulson then led Enid to a room full of computers and monitors, where a tall man, with an eye patch and long leather coat, stood, along with a brunette-haired woman and a nervous-looking guy with brown hair, wearing slacks and a dress shirt, and glasses.

"Director, " Coulson said, "This is Enid Bard."

"Ms. Bard." The director greeted. "I"m Nick Fury, and this is Dr. Bruce Banner and Agent Maria Hill." He pointed to the brown hair guy, who glanced up with a slight smile and a wave before going back to what he was doing; Maria just nodded.

"Am I going to find out why I was dragged here? " Enid asked.

"I understand you own a business, and this is probably a significant inconvenience for you, but the fate of this world could be at stake." Fury said.

"I'm sorry?" Enid asked, looking toward Coulson, then back at Fury

"I have a few questions for you." Fury said, sticking his hands in his pocket.

"Okay." Enid frowned, folding her hands in front of her; she had on black pants with a white blouse and black flats. Her hair up in a messy bun.

"Where were you on the night of June 10th?" Fury demanded.

"I was at work in my casino," Enid answered.

"You didn't go anywhere else, visit anyone, or have visitors?" Fury asked.

"No, I was at my casino all day, didn't go anywhere," Enid answered. "June 10th was the day we took inventory. So, I was pretty much working all day, I took stock during the day, then went up to my penthouse on the top floor, ate dinner, then went back down to do my normal shift."

"And you can prove this?" Fury demanded.

"You can question my employees if you like," Enid said. "And you're welcome to view my security cameras; they are almost everywhere in the building; I am sure you'll be able to see me on them enough to confirm it." Fury and Hill glanced at each other for a moment.

"When was the last time you spoke to your sister?" Fury demanded.

"Saphira?" Enid asked, confused. "What does she have to do with anything?"

"You know of a guy named Loki?" Fury asked instead of answering Enid's question. "Claims to be from Asgard."

"Yes, I know Loki," Enid said cautiously.

"Talk to him or your sister lately?" Fury demanded.

"I haven't seen my sister in almost a year," Enid answered. " It's been a lot longer than that since I've seen Loki."

"How long?" Fury demanded.

"Since he and his mother helped my sister and I escape Asgard," Enid answered. "Over a hundred years ago."

"So, you have no idea what is going on right now?" Fury demanded," With your sister or Loki. Or where they might be?"

"I have no idea; I haven't seen my sister since New Mexico, I'm guessing Loki is locked up in a cell on Asgard; Saphira, I have no idea about her or how involved she was in what happened in New Mexico," Enid said. "She ran off with Loki during that and went to Asgard. What happened after that? I don't know I didn't go to Asgard." Fury looked her over with his one eye.

"I think she's telling the truth," Coulson spoke up.

"So, you honestly haven't heard or seen her or Thor since New Mexico?" Fury demanded

"No," Enid said. "Saphira ran off with Loki the night Coulson questioned us; Thor left four months after that, to stop him, I stayed on Earth in case he sent something to attack it again, Thor was supposed to come back and bring Saphira with him, he didn't come back; next day I left New Mexico and went back to Las Vegas, don't believe me call my employees they'll tell you."

"How long were you and Saphira on Earth before New Mexico?" Fury asked.

"It was your Earth year of Nineteen elven, when we arrived here," Enid told him. "And yes, that's the last time I saw Loki, and I haven't been back to Asgard since then."

"Okay, I believe you're telling the truth." Fury said. "Which is good; maybe you can help us."

"I still haven't been told why I am here," Enid said. "Why are you asking me all these questions about Loki and Saphira?"

"Because about a week ago, Saphira and Loki showed up at one of my basses, killed a bunch of my men, and stole a very powerful object." Fury told her; he watched as Enid's eyes widened in surprise.

"What?" Enid demanded.

"An object that is dangerous in the wrong hands." Fury said, "The fate of our world could depend on getting it back, and we are now at war with Loki and your sister."

"War?" Enid frowned. "With Loki and Saphira?"

"Yes, and we also believe they are the ones behind what happened at Area 51." Fury said.

"What?" Enid demanded, frowning, she had seen what happened there all over the news, even felt a little of the trimmer in her office that day. Though she doesn't know if it's from the small earthquake or the explosion, she guesses that answers her question about rather or not Saphira could cause them.

"I'm sorry, but how old are you exactly?" Banner suddenly asked. Everyone turned and gave him a funny look. "What?"

Before anyone could say anything else, a voice started talking through the walkie-talkie on Hill's hip; she answered it; a male voice said something about catching someone; Hill ended the conversation then looked at Fury.

"We have him," Hill said.

"Him who?" Enid demanded, she turned to Fury. "Is she talking about Loki? What about my sister? Did you capture them or something?"

"Do you not remember what I told you they did?" Fury demanded.

"I remember," Enid said. "But how do I know you are telling the truth?"

Fury picked a tablet up off a table, pulled something up on it, and handed it to Enid.

"Footage of my now destroyed bases from a week ago, have a seat, and watch it." Fury demanded, then he, Hill, and Coulson left the room. Enid sat down at the big round table and played the video; Banner, curious, walked behind her to watch.

Enid watched the video frowning; she hadn't seen Loki in a century. However, she could still tell when someone looked tortured; Loki was thin, his cheekbones stuck out more than she remembered, dark circles under his eyes, and he was sweaty and sounded tired when he spoke; he looked like hell.

Saphira was standing behind Loki, hands on her hips. Enid was relieved to see that Saphira didn't look as bad as Loki. Though she still looked terrible and had lost a lot of weight, like she hadn't been getting much to eat, and looked as if she hadn't slept a good while. And was that an Asgardian prison uniform she was wearing? And of course, she wouldn't have shoes on.

Enid winched as she watched Loki taken out the people around him, Saphira though at the most part, just stood there, at least for a while; then she got involved. Enid couldn't believe her eyes when she watched her little sister take a dagger and drive it into a guy's neck, then just walk away without a care. Then when she talked to Fury. Enid frowned; going by what Saphira had said, she told Odin she wanted him dead and admitted to being in prison. What the hell happened on Asgard?

"I can't believe this," Enid said. Sitting the tablet, down "Saphira, she's always been a little wild, but this."

"Loki was pretty scary looking." Banner said, walking back over to the computer.

"I grew up with Loki." Enid told him, "he played tricks on everyone, but he...I don't understand why either of them would do this. And he shows apparent signs of torture, and my sister has lost a lot of weight, and though I haven't laid eyes on Loki in a long time I am sure he has too."

"He sounded tired too." Banner said. "I assume it was effects from coming through the tesseract."

"Maybe," Enid said, looking down at the tablet. "Dose Fury always act like that."

"just meant him myself." Banner answered, taking his glasses off and cleaning them with the bottom of his shirt. "But I think it's safe to assume he does..."

Banner trailed off as his eyes caught something passing the room; Enid followed his sight and saw Loki being lead by about six or seven guards. He caught sight of Banner watching him and gave him a creepy smile. This wasn't the Loki that had helped her and Saphira escape Asgard. He looked unstable like a bomb about to go off; Enid pictured the sweet, innocent, shy Loki she grew up with and found it hard to believe he could do something like killing dozens of people. Still, she could see the Loki she was looking at now being that deranged, just by the insane look in his eyes.

Enid stood as Loki looked her way; at first, surprise flickered across his face, then a genuine smile crossed it as if he was happy to see her. He gave a slight nod, and just for a second, Enid could almost see the Loki that she knew on Asgard, before he was lead out of sight.

"So, that was Loki?" Banner asked. "He seemed a little...frightening." Before Enid could reply, two people walked in, a woman with dark red hair and a guy with blonde hair.

"Do you have my sister?" Enid demanded, crossing her arms; the two looked surprised by Enid's outburst.

"Who are you?" The woman demanded, frowning at Enid.

"Enid?" Enid answered. "Saphira is my sister, now do you have her or not?"

"I am Steve Rogers, and this is Natasha Romanoff," Rogers said. "No, we had Saphira, but she got away." Before Enid could demand more answers, Coulson came into the room talking to someone.

"You can wait in here with everyone else." Coulson was saying, "I believe there is already someone here, you know."

Enid was surprised to see Thor walk in behind Coulson; he looked around the room with a frown; then his eyes fell on her, and he grinned as he rushed forward and engulfed Enid in a hug, lifting her feet off the ground, while everyone watched.

"It's good to see you again." Thor put her down and pulled back a little but kept his arms around her. Enid laughed a little but then remembered that Thor had left her six months ago and she hadn't seen him since.

"You didn't come back," Enid said. "You promise to stay on Midgard with me, but you didn't come back."

"It's not what you think," Thor said. "Loki and I fought; he was using the Bifrost to destroy Jotunheim, the only thing I could do to stop him was to break it, I did not want to, but I had no choice; I had not meant to abandon you."

Enid gave him a small smile and reached up and pushed Thor's hair out of his face, making him grin at her.

"How did you get down here now?" Enid asked.

"Father used dark magic so I could stop Loki and Saphira," Thor explained.

"What happen to Loki?" Enid asked. "I saw footage of his arrival and saw him lead by here, he...something happened to him."

"I do not know after the bridge broke Loki fell, all but Saphira thought him dead," Thor explain

"What happened to Saphira after Loki fell," Enid asked.

"For Saphira's part in what happened, father locked her in the dungeons," Thor explains. "Father was going to banish her here when the Bifrost got repaired."

"And Loki broke her out before coming here?" Enid asked.

"Yes, on his way here, Loki somehow snuck on to Asgard without us knowing and attacked some guards and broke Saphira out of the dungeons," Thor told her.

Enid went to say something, but then Loki's voice filled the air, for the others in the room had turned on a camera showing Fury talking to Loki. She walked away from Thor and went to watch, hoping she would hear something about where her sister was. They had put Loki in a giant glass cage, and he was just taunting Fury.

Enid watched and listened as Fury tried to threatened Loki into telling him where the cube was, and she couldn't help but snort when Fury said Loki couldn't control the tesseract; she didn't know how powerful Loki was, but he was a God, like Thor and he probably had a better chance of understanding and controlling the tesseract than any of them did.

Unfortunately Loki didn't once mention Saphira or where she might be when Fury brought her up; the amusement on Loki's face vanished at once and he told Fury that where Saphira was and what she was doing was none of his damn business. Enid could hear a threat in his voice; Fury must have too, as he dropped it and didn't bring her up again, then left the room not long after that.

"He grows on you, doesn't he?" Banner said, turning the footage off Or at least turning off the sound to the room.

"Loki is going to drag this out," Steve said. "So, Thor, what's his play?"

"He has an army called the Chitauri; they are not of Asgard or no known world," Thor said. "They will win him the Earth, in exchange, I suspect for the tesseract."

"So an army from outer space," Steve said. "He's not leading an army from here. So, why let us capture him?"

"It's a part of his plan." Enid frowned in thought. She glanced at Thor. "Loki let them take him, it's what he wanted, but why, as Rogers said, he can't do anything from here. And where did he send my sister?"

"I don't think we should be forcing on Loki." Banner said. "That guy is like a bag full of cats; you can smell the crazy on him."

"Have care how you speak," Thor warned. "Loki may be beyond reason, but he's of Asgard and my brother."

"Rather or not, Loki is sane isn't the point." Enid said, talking over whatever Romanoff was about to say. "He's the one doing this him and my sister; he has hidden both Saphira and the tesseract, so, yes, Loki is what we should be forcing on right now."

"She has a point," Rogers said.

"Yes, but Loki is here locked up." Romanoff said, "We need to be figuring out what he's done with the tesseract, his plan for it, and where it is."

"My guess is Loki is building another portal." Banner said. "That's what he needs Eric Selvig for."

"Selvig?" Thor asked.

"Yeah, he's astrophysics." Banner said.

"He's a friend," Thor said.

"Loki has him under some kind of spells." Romanoff answered," Along with one of our own."

"Think he has your sister under this spell?" Banner asked Enid.

"No," Thor answered for her.

"How can you be sure?" Romanoff asked.

"Loki may be careless or unfeeling about a lot of things," Thor answered. "But, Saphira is not one of them, he's loved her since he was a boy, he would never use his magic against her."

"Saphira is going along with Loki because she wants to." Enid put in. "She probably grew bored in prison and thought coming back to Midgard and conquering it sounded like fun."

"Hang on; your sister attacked Earth just because she was bored?" Rogers demanded.

"And if she wins, she gets to rule it alongside Loki," Enid answered. "My sister has always thrived on being praised, and worshiped, being better than everyone, loves competition and addicted to winning; she will not be easy to beat, especially with Loki at her side."

"Let's get back to the portal." Banner said, "We'll worry about Saphira when we have to." He took his glasses off. "I think it's all about the mechanics, Iridium. What do they need iridium for?"

"It's a stabilizing agent." A voice said; Enid looked to see Tony Stark entering the room, "Means the portal won't collapse on itself like it did at SHIELD, " he patted Thor's arm as he went by. "No hard feelings, Point Break, you have a mean swung."

Enid looked at Thor; he leaned in and said real low. "We got into a bit of fight after I took Loki." Enid smiled and rolled her eyes as Starks's eyes fell on her, and he frowned then pointed at her.

"I know you," Stark said.

"No, Mr. Stark, I don't believe we have ever met," Enid answered. Thor looked between the two with a frown.

"I know, you were in Fobes once, on a list of youngest self-made million women." Tony said," you own a casino in Las Vegas I believe."

"I tried getting out of that, but my sister said it would bring more people into the casino," Enid answered. "Forbes was a little off guessing my age; I'm hardly the youngest anything."

"How old are you then?" Stark asked.

"Ten hundred and forty-nine," Enid answered.

"Really? You don't look a day over five hundred." Tony said, sarcastically as everyone turned to look at Enid, Stark took the chance, walked over to the computers, and place some device on one of them. He winked at Enid, before turning to the others and went back to his conversation, talking about the portal.

"I don't like him," Enid said; Thor laughed a little and put his arm around Enid's shoulder. They watched and listened to Stark and Banner talk about what it would take for Loki to heat the cube, then Tony teased Banner about turning into a giant green rage monster. Enid frowned and turned to Thor.

"Rage monster?" Enid asked in Asgardian.

"I am not sure what he's talking about," Thor replied. "But do not be anywhere near him alone."

"I can take care of myself, you know," Enid said.

"Anything you two want to share with the class." Fury demanded; Enid looked over to see him walking into the room.

"Class?" Thor asked, confused.

"It's just a saying," Enid explains, speaking in English. "Means, he wants to know what we were saying."

"Never mind that." Fury said, he turned to Stark. "Dr. Banner is only here to help find the cube; I was hoping you would help him."

"I'd start with that stick of his," Rogers said.

"Stick?" Enid asked.

"Yeah, Loki had this weird stick thing with him," Rogers answered. "It glows at the top in the middle." Enid looked at Thor.

"It's a scepter, and I had never seen it before." Thor explains."I do not know when he got it, or where, but it had to have been after he fell from the Bifrost."

"It may be magical, but it works a lot like a Hydra weapon," Rogers said.

"I don't know about that." Fury put in. "But it's powered by the cub, and I like to know how he used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys."

"Monkeys?" Thor asked, "I do not understand."

"I do," Rogers said. "I understood that reference."

"It's a movie reference," Enid explains. "There is this old film where this witch has flying monkeys as her servants."

"Anyway, I'd start with it." Rogers went on.

"I want to speak to Loki," Enid said. Thor looked at her with a frown.

"Enid, Loki is nothing like you remember him," Thor said. "He is dangerous."

"I can take care of myself, Thor," Enid told him. "Besides, he's locked up in a giant snow globe; what can he do?"

"I don't think that's a good idea." Fury said, stopping any argument that might start between Thor and Enid.

"Please," Enid said; Fury looked Enid over, then nodded and called one of the SHIELD agents nearby to tell him to show Enid where Loki was being held.

"Do you want me to come with you?" Thor asked, concern evident in his voice; Enid turned to Thor and gave him a small smile.

"I'll be fine; I doubt Loki will tell me anything if you're with me," Enid said. She reached out and gripped Thor's hand for a moment, then let go.

Enid followed the agent out as she took her hair down and ran her hand through it. She had no doubt they would be listening in on her and Loki's conversation; she didn't care, though. She just wanted Loki to tell her where her sister was so that she could get off this damn craft and go get her; she would get Thor to help, and together they would deal with the whole tesseract situation. Then deal with Loki and Saphira themselves.

When Enid walked into the room Loki's cage was in, at first, he was pacing around his cell, but when he sensed her, he turned and grinned.

"Enid, it's a pleasure to see you." Loki mocked. Enid crossed her arms and started walking closer to Loki. "Surprise Thor, let you come see me alone."

"Oh, he wanted to come with me," Enid replied. "But I wanted to talk to you alone."

"Enid, you will not get out of me where Saphira is." Loki chuckled. There was silence between them then Loki spoke again. "You look different from when I last saw you. The shorter hair suits you."

"I never got to thank you and your mother for helping Saphira, and I escape," Enid told him. "You saved us from a beheading, and I am guessing that's the fate that my parents got."

"I am sorry," Loki said. Enid gave him a small smile.

"Saphira grew paranoid after that never trusted anyone," Enid said. "She never gave up hope, though, that you and Thor would someday come and take us back to Asgard. She was half right."

"Thor is an idiot," Loki told her. "You are too good for that oaf."

"It's been over a century; unlike my sister, I accepted long ago that my life changed, and I will never get my old life back," Enid said.

"Really?" Loki asked, stepping up closer to the glass. "Then why the little trip down memory lane?" Enid glared at him.

"Just tell me where my sister is," Enid demanded.

"Your sister is safe," Loki told her. "You know I would never purposely put her in danger."

"How am I supposed to know that, Loki?" Enid demanded. "With everything you've done lately."

"I love your sister very much." Loki answered, "I swear to you, I would never do anything to harm her, why would I? Saphira is the only person that ever gave a damn about me."

"That's not true, Loki, and you know it," Enid said, frowning deeply. "Your brother, your mother, your father..." She stopped when Loki started laughing.

"What, brother?" Loki demanded. "What, father? Laufey? Saphira and I killed him." He smirked at Enid's shocked look. "Has Thor not gotten around to telling you my true heritage yet? I was adopted." He took a step back and held his arms out; suddenly, the room grew colder as he started to turn blue; Enid's eyes widened, and not realizing it, she took a step back. "Still have your father's hatred for my kind drilled into your head, I see."

" No...I." Enid tried.

"Do you know what Saphira did when she first saw me like this?" Loki asked. Enid shook her head, "She kissed me; she did not care. She still loved me despite the hatred for jotuun your father taught you two, so, you see, I would rather die than let anything happen to her." Enid frowned and said nothing as Loki faded back to his usual color.

"Then why would you send her off somewhere while letting yourself get captured?" Enid demanded.

"Do you want Saphira here?" Loki asked. "To be locked in one of these glass cages, on the same ship as a man who can turn into a raging beast at any moment?"

"Are you talking about Dr. Banner?" Enid asked, frowning in confusion.

"He is like a spell performed wrong." Loki answered, "Fine at first, but disaster will strike at any moment."

Enid remembered learning about Banner's little green problem, and it clicked; Loki intended to get Banner to turn into that monster for some reason and hadn't wanted Saphira here when it happened.

"You could join us, you know." Loki offered. "Saphira would be most pleased to have you, and you can get your revenge on Thor."

"Why would I want revenge on Thor?" Enid demanded.

"For breaking your heart...twice," Loki said. "You two were to be married when you had to flee your home, and Thor didn't show up on the Bifrost to say bye when it was Mother and I saving you, not Thor. After many years you finally see him again, only for Thor to run back to Asgard without you, breaks the Bifrost cutting off any way he could come back to you, and cutting you off from your sister, then helps Odin throw her in the dungeons locked up like an animal." Loki's voice rose at the last part showing his anger over it. "I'm sure I can think of more." Enid said nothing. She just narrowed her eyes at him. "Like Saphira thrown in the dungeon immediately after waking up from lying unconscious for hours after Thor hit her with Mjolnir and knocked her through a wall."

"Thor did what?" Enid demanded.

"If I get caught and dragged back to Asgard, you think the authority here will allow you to have your sister back, for her to go free as nothing happened? No, they will lock her up in whatever kind of prison they have here, and you'll spend your weekends visiting her if they allow it," Loki said. "At least on Asgard, my mother took care of her; she visited Saphira in the cell, tried to get her to eat, and brought her books and games. Down here, she will have no one."

"She'll have me," Enid said; Loki laughed as Enid went to turn and leave the room, but she stopped when Loki spoke again.

"Of course, she will have you," Loki said. "How could I forget? Thor is returning to Asgard without you once again."

"Shut up," Enid yelled at him.

"And with the Bifrost still broken, he will not be coming back for you any time soon." Loki taunted

"They'll stop whatever you are planning; I'll help them do it," Enid said; Loki only laughed.

"Do not pretend you care about helping these fools stop us," Loki said. "You are just here to get your sister back; if and that is a big if Saphira and I lose, you are already planning on ways to save her from punishment, do not deny it; you are probably the most intelligent one on this ship, but yet you have not offered to help them find the tesseract, you only wish to save your sister from whatever fate you are dreaming up she might have to face. Saphira is the only family you have left. Join us; we can be one happy family ruling over Midgard."

"No, thank you," Enid told him, she turned and started walking out, again, Loki stopped her.

"Saphira has always been free-spirited." Loki said, "And unpredictable, it is a part of her nature, just a few of the things I have always loved about her, and they nearly drove her mad locked up in a cage like a rat." Loki's voice had grown louder the more he talked. "And your darling Thor did it; he took her down there in chains, put her in that cell, and locked her in himself. She would not eat, could not sleep."

"Loki, don't..." Enid said, "I love my sister. But what you two are doing trying to take over Midgard is wrong. You killed a lot of innocent people."

Enid went to say more but shook her head and went to walk out, and Loki stopped her once again.

"Running back to Thor?" Loki asked. "You two finally going to have that wedding? I think Mother still has that dress she had made for you."

Enid stopped walking and turned back to Loki; she knew he was trying to anger her, but she had had enough; she narrowed her eyes, and Loki suddenly flew back and slammed into the back of the cage then fell to the floor. Loki only laughed as he stood back up, holding his back.

"I see you still got it." Loki grinned. Enid glared at Loki, who opened his mouth to say something, but Thor came walking into the room.

"Loki, enough," Thor demanded; Loki smiled, holding his arms out at his sides and bent a little as if mockingly bowing before he backed away from the glass going farther into the cell.

"Enid, are you alright ?" Thor asked, putting his arm around her; Enid didn't answer. She got out of Thor's arm and rushed out of the room; Thor frowned in confusion and followed her.

"Enid, are you okay," Thor said.

"Did you hit my sister with that damn hammer of yours?" Enid demanded, putting her hands on her hips.

"I was flying towards Loki; Saphira pushed him out of the way," Thor said. "I did not realize I had hit her until after we both crashed through the wall."

"And she laid unconscious for hours?." Enid demanded.

"I carried her to the healing rooms myself, and I sat by her bedside the whole time," Thor explain. "For you and Loki, I made sure Saphira got the best care, and I still feel awful for hurting her, but it was not on purpose, Enid, I would never do that to you or her, this I swear; to you."

Enid said nothing; she just paced back and forth, running her hand through her hair, as Thor watched her, with a frown on his face. Then finally, she stopped and turned back to Thor.

"I know why Loki kept Saphira from coming here; he wants Banner to turn into that rage monster Stark mentioned," Enid said.

"The Hulk?" Thor asked, "That's what Banner called it when Loki mentioned it."

"Yes, probably to tear apart the ship while we fight amongst each other," Enid answered. "It's all part of his plan, get Banner to turn into the Hulk, as we are fighting each other, and he gets away during the chaos, he let himself get caught on purpose, it's so there is no one to stop him and Saphira."

"And I bit wherever the tesseract is, is where Saphira went," Thor replied. "Most likely, she's making sure Erik and the others are getting things ready for Loki."

"Come on; we have to find Fury," Enid said, walking again. "He has to get Banner away from Loki's scepter. If it can get Erik to turn into a puppet, then it most likely can get Banner to lose control and turn into the Hulk."

"Enid, wait!" Thor cried, grabbing her arm and stopping her.

"Thor, I know what you are going to ask, and we don't have time for this right now..." Enid tried.

"Enid.."

"I understand it was an accident." Enid said, "But I don't understand the fact you kept it from me, she's my sister, Thor, my baby sister, and you didn't think to tell me she was seriously hurt. I had to hear it from your deranged brother, who most likely only told me to cause conflict between the two of us."

"I am...sorry," Thor said, frowning. "But not like I have had a chance to tell you."

Enid sighed; Thor had a point; between them trying to figure out what Loki was up to and then keep getting interrupted when they talked to each other, Thor hadn't had a chance to bring it up. Enid walked over and put her hand on Thor's chest.

"I'm not mad, just upset," Enid told him. "We'll talk about it later, okay? Right now, we have to make sure Banner does not turn into the Hulk and make sure the others don't start fighting."

"You are right, and we need to keep our mind on stopping Loki's plan." Thor agreed. "Stark and the others could be the only help we have if the Chitauri do get through to earth."

"And that's a scary thought," Enid replied; she turned and started walking. Thor followed her, smiling a little. "I just wished Loki would have told me where Saphira is; you and I could go get her, put a stop to all of this before any battle or war begins."

"Loki is beyond reason right now." Thor replied," What makes you think Saphira would be any different? Or that she would listen to us."

"I don't know if she would or not, but I could have at least tried," Enid said as they got closer to the room everyone was. "Would have been better than standing around here doing nothing."

As they came upon the room, they heard arguing coming from it. Thor and Enid stopped and frowned, then Enid groaned,

"Come on." She said, grabbing Thor's arm. "Hopefully, we're not too late to get Banner away from the scepter."

AN Not anything to add that I can think of, except there are two more chapters before we get to the start of the battle in New York. One is kind of short, so I might upload two at once. No, SHEILD doesn't know what happened at Area 51, they wouldn't even tell them, but they connected the dots and figured it had to be Loki and Saphira, they just don't know why or any details.
