AN Yeah, this chapter is a little short, and I debated on whether or not to post it or have what's happens in it mention, but I decided to go ahead and post it.

Chapter 20: Separated

Enid stood in Stark's destroyed tower, feeling worn out; she had her arms crossed, standing close to where her sister and Loki sat, hugging each other. She might be mad at her sister right now, but she still loved her. She didn't want anything to happen to her or Loki, so she stayed close to them to make sure no one here decided to get mad enough to attack her sister and brother-in-law for what they did. A part of Enid was still a bit shocked that they went through with it. Like she told Saphira, she still wasn't sure whether or not to believe Loki about being forced to do this because he seemed to be enjoying the fight too much, and if he was telling the truth, that put Saphira in danger. Enid would have to keep a close eye on her sister after today, as much as she could; hopefully, whoever these people were Loki mentioned, they didn't want to risk breaking into a prison to get Saphira; Enid had no doubt Loki would be safe from them the moment he gets to Asgard.

Enid could tell Saphira was crying with how she had her face on Loki's shoulder, and Enid's heart went out to her. She wanted to comfort her but was also angry at her and didn't think she could say anything that wouldn't lead to a big argument between them, especially after yelling at her; something she felt horrible about now, she had just been so shocked and angry. Plus, Enid doubted Saphira would accept comfort from anyone except Loki at the moment. The trickster himself probably wouldn't let Enid near her sister. He kept sending Thor glares and ignoring her altogether.

Enid turned from the couple to look around the room; everyone seemed to be just coming down from the airline of battle; Stark, who kept holding his ribs, allowed everyone to help themselves to his bar. Enid had declined a drink when offered, but Thor was on his third, so was Wolverine. Next was Scott Sommers, who also went by the ridiculous name of Cyclops; he was on his second drink, talking to Jean Grey, who was drinking very light alcohol, Hank McCoy was on his fourth, his vast body being able to take it without getting drunk, he despite his animal-like appearance was brilliant and had taken up with Stark and Banner, the later of the two now wore clothes that he borrowed from Stark, who had gotten a good laugh at Banner. After putting on Stark's clothes, he had offered Loki his jacket back; Loki gave it a disgusted look and refused to touch it.

Enid took her eyes off them and continued to look around the room; a young mutant called Jubilee was chatting with the women that called herself Rogue, who was married to Gambit, or who Enid knew as Remy Lebeau; Enid had been shocked when he showed up with the rest of the X-MEN. He stood in a corner by himself, watching Loki and Saphira, looking as if he wanted to go over to them.

Like her, Captain America refused a drink, instead asked if Stark had a bottle of water, he did, and he stood not far from her talking to Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton while he drank it.

Whenever SHEILD decided to show up to arrest her sister and Loki, Stark had promised to take everyone down the road to get some weird name food; whatever the hell it was, Enid had again declined the offer, not being in the mood to eat. She would see if they allowed her to accompany her sister to jail, she would need a lawyer after all, and Enid still has her license; she made sure to renew them every year, something Saphira made fun of her over.

Enid gave in and decided to go on over and talk to her sister, and she walked over and knelt in front of her as Loki observed her with a blank expression

"Sister, are you alright? Did you get hurt during the battle?" Enid asked; she reached out to touch her shoulder, but Saphira moved away; Enid frowned as Saphira looked up at her; her face was red and wet.

"Why did you help them?" Saphira demanded, wiping her eyes. "Why did you fight against me? I'm your sister."

"Because what you were doing was wrong," Enid said. Saphira said nothing, just put her face back into Loki's shoulder.

"You yelled at me earlier," Saphira mumbled.

"I was mad about what you did," Enid told her. "What were you thinking? Why would you go along with Loki's schemes? You should have known you wouldn't win."

"Because," Saphira said, raising her head again. "If Loki and I ruled, everyone would have to do what we told them to, so no one could keep us apart, separate us. It wasn't his idea, but we had a plan to take advantage of it, now..." She didn't finish. She put her face back on Loki's shoulder.

"Sister."

"Just go away; I don't want to talk to you right now," Saphira told her.

"Sister, please." Enid tried, but Loki interrupted her.

"I believe my wife said go away," Loki told her. "She wishes not to speak with you."

Enid frowned at him and stood; deciding not to make a scene, she walked over and stood by Thor, who stopped the story he was telling Wolverine and turned to her.

"Are you okay? You look upset." Thor asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Enid told him; Thor frowned.

"I saw you talking to Loki and Saphira, did my brother say something to upset you?" Thor asked.

"No, I, my sister is mad at me and would rather not talk to me at the moment," Enid explained, deciding to leave out that Loki ran her off; they'll be another fight soon enough when SHIELD finally gets here, without adding Thor going after Loki over her.

"Ah, yes, Loki keeps glaring at me," Thor said, "So, I can only assume he is mad at me like Saphira is you."

"I know what they did was very wrong, horrible even, but I can't help but still feel so bad for her," Enid said, putting her arm around Thor and leaning into him for comfort; in return, he put his arm around her shoulder.

"She's your sister, and you seem like someone with a good heart, only natural that you feel bad for her," Wolverine spoke up. "Family can be a complicated thing, which is why I am sometimes grateful that I don't have any blood relative out there that I know of." And with that, Wolverine wandered off to get another drink.

"He's a little strange," Thor told Enid, making her laugh a little.

Enid went back to looking around the room and watched as Remy started walking towards Saphira and Loki; Enid took Thor's hand, and they moved in closer so they could hear what was said and keep an eye on Loki's reaction. A few feet away, Rogue stopped talking to Jubilee and watched LeBeau with narrowed eyes, and Jubilee was watching her.

"Come on, Soeur," Remy said, kneeling in front of her. "Don't cry; it'll be alright."

"That's easy for you to say," Saphira replied, setting up a little from Loki, who was glaring at Remy as if he was going to kill him any minute now. "You get to go home with your wife; my husband's stupid brother is dragging him off to a different realm."

Remy glanced at Thor, then looked back at Saphira and reached out to push her hair out of her face, only to have his arm stopped by Loki, who got it in a tight grip and glared harder at Remy. Thor went to intervene, but Enid stopped him as Remy only laughed.

"You have yourself a possessive one," Remy said; Saphira reached up and took Loki's hand off Remy's arm and put it back around her waist.

"He's just feeling very protective of me right now," Saphira explained; leaning into Loki, she looked up at him. "It's okay, baby; Remy won't hurt me. He's my friend."

Loki said nothing but did stop glaring at Remy but kept his eyes on him; his silence made Enid feel uneasy and nervous. From the way Thor kept looking at him, he was feeling it too; Loki was not the type to sit and stay quiet, no matter the mood he was in, mad, happy, hurt, he always had something to say, from lies to sarcasm to even jokes, Loki usually never shut up, not since overcoming his childhood shyness.

"You're pretty much my brother-in-law," Remy said. Loki's eyebrow raised. "I see Saphira here as a sister."

"When I first met Remy, he thought I was in my late teens," Saphira explained. "He befriended me and looked after me like an older brother would; I liked him, so I let him keep thinking I was."

"Yes, I remember you mentioning that." Loki replied, smirking," He's a thief, right?" Instead of looking insulted, Remy agreed that yes, he indeed was a thief, which seemed to amuse Loki, whose face took on a somewhat impressed look at Remy, not denying nor being ashamed of it—but sounding proud instead.

Enid's attention was taken from them to the sound of the elevator doors dinging open; she looked back to see a bunch of SHIELD agents get off; Enid looked back at her sister to see her tighten her grip on Loki and glare at the agents filling the room, Loki held her close whispering stuff Enid couldn't hear but figured it was supposed to be comforting as he ran his hand up and down her back. Remy went over to Rogue and begun talking to her as Romanoff handed Loki's scepter to a man named Jasper Sitwell; Enid had a feeling that wouldn't end well and turned to Thor, who was also watching everything.

"Thor, maybe you should take the scepter to Agard with the tesseract," Enid suggested. "After what we know, that thing can do."

"I agree, but they will not allow it; if I take the Tesseract and Loki, they want Saphira and the scepter," Thor explained.

"Pulling them apart isn't going to go over very well," Enid replied

"I know," Thor replied as he wasn't looking at Enid but watching the agents.

"Why is everyone just standing around here while the criminals snuggle to each other like two middle schoolers." An agent name Rumlow demanded, walking towards Saphira and Loki, "Let's arrest them and get out of here."

"That's not a good idea." Enid called to him, "Better let Thor and I handle it."

Rumlow didn't listen as he reached for Loki's arm; Saphira's smacked his hand away and pulled Loki closer to her.

"Touch him, and I'll kill you, I swear it," Saphira said, sending him a glare.

Loki turned to her and went to say something, but all he got out was, "Darling." before the agents in the room surrounded them, Enid knew this wasn't going to end well; she and Thor looked at one another before starting to push themselves through to get to their siblings.

"Let Enid and I talk to them." Thor demanded," We can do this peacefully."

Of course, they didn't listen, and a couple of them grabbed hold of Loki, as a couple of them grabbed hold of Saphira and pulled them apart, both fighting them off.

"No." Saphira cried, smacking and punching the agents; she then got one across the arm with her nails, causing him to cry out; which Enid thought was overreacting, considering Saphira never kept her nails long.

Everything was getting out of hand; Saphira fought as if her life depended on it; Loki was fighting and trying to get to her, but people were holding him back, and Thor and Enid were trying to make it to their siblings, hoping to calm them down. Everyone was shouting, yelling, fighting; it was chaos, then it happened. There was a blast of energy that came from Saphira; it went across the room, knocking everyone but Loki, Remy, Thor, and Enid off their feet.

Saphira looked around just as shocked as everyone else, as they all started sitting up; Saphira stumbled a little, then looked from Enid to Loki.

"That wasn't me, I swear," Saphira announced before dropping to her knees, tired.

"Darling, " Loki cried, rushing to her, just as Enid made it to her. Both kneeled next to her as Thor stood behind her, Remy next to him.

"It wasn't me, and I swear I didn't do it." Saphira denied, looking almost panic. "I don't know what that was."

Around them, everyone started getting to their feet, shouting orders to one another; and pulling out weapons; the burst of strength Loki and Saphira had moments ago seemed to have left them as both looked too tired to fight back.

"What the hell was that?" Someone yelled.

"Who did that," Rumlow demanded.

"I did." Remy lied; everyone turned to him, "Sorry, didn't know it would blow up so big, just trying to do a minor explosion, get everyone to calm down. Was it not a good idea, no?"

"Of course it wasn't." Someone said, then there was a mumbled that sounded something like "stupid mutant." Remy kneeled next to Saphira and Loki.

"That wasn't you, Remy," Saphira told him. The four Asgardians and Rogue seemed to be the only people who knew Remy was lying. The latter of which flew out the window in what Enid would guess was anger.

"I know that, but something tells me they shouldn't know that blast, whatever it was, came from you," Remy whispered.

"He's right." Enid said, "Best keep that information between the five of us." She looked back at Remy. "Thank you." He nodded.

Everyone else was back on their feet and heading towards them; Saphira moaned and turned to Loki, looking panicked.

"I don't want to be separated again," Saphira said, grabbing the front of Loki's shirt. "Please, I don't want to lose you again."

Loki did as he always did and pushed her hair out of her face, then put his hand on her cheek and rubbed her jaw with his thumb.

"Shh, it is okay, darling." Loki said, "Calm down before you hurt yourself, please. You're not losing me, never have, never will." With Loki's soothing words and tender touch, Saphira was able to calm down and snuggled into Loki as he whispered something in her ear.

"I've seen enough," Rumlow grumbled; he stepped forward and pulled Loki away from Saphira.

"No, please." Saphira cried; Enid held her sister as they watched the agents bring out cuffs and chains; Saphira looked up at Thor.

"Thor!" Saphira cried, "Please, take me back to Asgard with you, please."

Thor looked like a dear caught in headlights, here Saphira was down on the floor in front of him, begging him to do something he could not do.

"No way." someone said, "He's already taken Loki; we have a right to punish at least one of them." Saphira ignores him.

"Thor, please, I'll go peacefully. I promise I won't get smart or threaten Odin or anything, please." Saphira said. "I'll be on my best behavior locked in a cell with Loki."

"Saphira, my love," Loki spoke up. "Do not beg him; he does not care; he has to follow Odin's orders no matter who gets hurt."

"Brother, "Thor snapped," Enough" He walked over to Loki.

"Get this collar off me, brother, and let me take Saphira and go." Loki said, "We'll leave this realm and go elsewhere, never step foot on it or Asgard again, you have my word."

Thor looked between Loki and Saphira, with a conflicted look on his face, just like Loki did when Thor was trying to talk him into stopping the battle. The agents must not have liked the look Thor had as two came forward and pulled Saphira to her feet and tried to put the cuffs and chains on her, and she started fighting them again, punching and kicking, doing everything she could not be chained up; Enid wanted to calm her sister but couldn't because they held her back; Loki once again tried to get to his wife but he was also held back.

"You are not putting those on me." Saphira cried; she punched one guy so hard, he went flying across the room, slamming into the wall, then landed on the ground, knocked out, even Loki had a shocked look on his face. Then more people surrounded her, and Saphira fought them off until Rumlow hit Saphira hard from behind, knocking her down, then got on top of her and put his knee in her back, holding her down, so the other agents could get the cuffs and chains on her.

"Get off her!" Loki shouted in anger as he rushed forward, snatched a piece of window glass off the floor; he went to stab Rumlow in the neck, but he moved, and Loki stabbed him in the shoulder instead; Rumlow cried out, as Thor grabbed Loki, and pulled him back. After that, the X-MEN and Avengers stepped in to help get the cuffs and chains on Loki and Saphira.

Enid felt even worse for her little sister; once the chains were on her, Saphira seemed to lose any energy or fight she had left and gave up and went with the agents, as she cried silently to herself, but then when they got to the elevator stopped and looked to the agent holding onto her arm.

"Can I...can I at least tell him bye?" Saphira asked; Enid looked back at Loki; Thor, along with Stark and Wolverine, were stopping him from running after Saphira; he looked miserable as he stood there watching them leading his wife away.

"Keep moving!" The agent demanded and shoved her onto the elevator; Remy followed and stood by Saphira, trying to comfort her; Enid got on and stood on her other side trying to do the same; she was going with them no matter where they took her sister, whether they like it or not.

When the elevator doors closed, Loki turned and glared at Thor with such a scary look. Thor was a little unnerved by it.

"You could have let us go; you could bring her to Asgard with us." Loki replied, "You could have stopped them taking her; I will never forgive you for this."

Thor felt guilty and had to remind himself, Saphira and Loki had just brought war on an innocent realm that had done nothing to them, killing numerous innocent people, so as not to be tricked by Loki's guilt, he pulled a muzzle out of his pocket and put it on Loki, cutting off his words. Before leading him to the elevator alongside the rest of the Avengers.

And there is was, hope it was okay, next chapter shouldn't as long to upload. Anyone is wondering no, Saphira would not have been able to punch that hard, any other time, it has to do with what happened to her, no she won't stay that strong, I try not to overpower my characters too much, which is why I have it where Saphira was unable to do magic like Loki's and Enid's.
