"Jesus, Pyrrha!" Neptune grunted "When did you get so good at this?"
Pyrrha had a light sweat beginning to form on her forehead "Years of practice."
The two were currently competing in a very competitive game of tennis on the Nintendo Wii and had both worked up a sweat. The two had played through every other game on the game and Neptune had only come close to beating her at bowling. It was now or nothing.
He imitated throwing the ball up to serve and swung down with his other hand powerfully. The serve shot passed Pyrrha's Mii and straight out of bounds.
"Fuck!" Neptune cried, removing the wrist strap and throwing the controller down "I almost had you there." He fell onto the couch, catching his breath.
Pyrrha on the other hand, had hardly worked up a sweat. It was to be expected though, she was a famous athlete after all. Being invited to a fully paid sports course, courtesy of Mistral Academy was the reason she had left in the first place. "Hardly! I had you beat in every single game." She smugly grinned.
Now Neptune had successfully broken the ice, he decided it was time to strike "I don't think you should be here when Jaune gets back." He admitted, completely going against the advice from Sun and Ilia.
The tone of the room shifted as emerald eyes locked onto him. The air of familiarity was now replaced with an awkward mist.
"Why not?" She emotionlessly asked "Am I not allowed to check up on him?"
"After you broke his heart and moved away without a word?" He shot back sarcastically "No, I don't think you should be able to check up on him. Especially unannounced." His eyes hardened. To hell with what everyone thought, Jaune was his friend and he was tired of seeing him hurt.
"What? So If I had called up first everything would be okay?" She countered, avoiding his main argument.
"It would've been better than this!" Neptune exclaimed, frustrated "You can't just walk in and out of our lives like this, Pyr."
"I had no choice!" Her polite tone was gone, replaced with raw emotion "You think I wanted to leave everything? My friends? My parents? Jaune? No! But this is my future. I had an opportunity to grab my dream career and I took it. What's so wrong with that?" She asked her old friend "It was easier to leave without a word..." Her tone lowered "If you guys had tried to stop me from leaving, I wouldn't have gone..."
"Do you regret leaving?" Neptune simply asked.
She shook her head "No... I regret the way I left." She corrected "There's not a day that goes by where I don't think about everyone here."
Neptune sighed, he hadn't realised how painful it must have been for her and only focused on Jaune's feelings "I'm sorry." He apologised.
"You didn't know." Pyrrha calmed herself "I did try." She frowned "I really did, but every time I was about to hit call or send the message, I'd freeze. I figured things would be better if I didn't try and explain myself and left things to fix themselves. If you don't mind me asking." She made eye contact once again "How has everyone been?" She asked innocently.
Neptune gave a light-hearted laugh "It's been a crazy year..."
"Would you mind telling me about it?"
"Well, for starters, Sun got pegged by Blake and Yang." Neptune smirked when Pyrrha covered her mouth to stifle giggle.
"Oh my!"
~~~Vale University~~~
Jaune pulled Weiss' smaller frame closer and let out a comfortable sigh "You awake?" He asked quietly in case she wasn't. The pair had slept through most of the day as the sun was already nearing it's descent. Not that either were complaining.
"Mmm." Weiss moaned cutely and rolled over, now facing the blonde. They were still in their clothes from last night and every time his hand brushed up against her flat stomach, it sent shockwaves throughout her body. It was clear that it wasn't the alcohol that made her act so forward with the boy. Who knew it would feel so nice being in someone's arms? "Hey..." She smiled, giving the boy a quick peck in which he reciprocated "What time is it?"
"Nearly 5pm." He answered, gently drawing circles on her lower back with his finger.
"Ugh..." She groaned, burying her face in his chest "I don't want to get up." She whined.
"Shame." Jaune smirked, giving her a quick kiss on the top of her head. Reluctantly, the two separated and got to their feet "We should probably figure out what this is."
"What do you want it to be?" Weiss shot the boy a glance "Because I think I know what I want."
"I think..." Jaune started "That I like being with you." He rubbed the back of his neck "I'd like to go at a comfortable pace though."
Weiss stepped close to the boy "You think?"
"Well, I really enjoyed last night and being with you." He explained "I just don't want to rush into something that might end badly. Ya know?"
"I understand." Weiss looked down dejectedly.
"Hey." Jaune cupped her cheek, forcing her to look at him "I didn't say I didn't want to be with you. I just want to take things at our own pace." He leaned down, capturing her lips "When we get back to Vale, how about we go on some dates and see where this goes?" He suggested after breaking the kiss.
"I'd like that." She nodded happily "But can we not tell our friends about it until after we are 100% on what we actually are?"
"I was actually going to suggest the same thing." He laughed "After everything that we've been through I don't think they'd understand... Well, maybe Ren would."
"Ah yes, Ren. The only sane one out of friendship group." She joked.
"You know, he's actually pretty weird too." Jaune informed her.
"Really? I don't see it."
"Probably because you're so small." He raised his hand "You need to be this tall to see Ren's crazy side." He laughed, not expecting the small girl to tackle him to the floor. Now sat on the floor with his back against the wall with Weiss straddling him.
"Who's too small?" She grinned victoriously, leaning in for another kiss, which Jaune was eager to give.
"Jaune, is everything okay? I heard a bang!" Saphron burst into the room and laid eyes on the scene before her "Don't mind me." She whistled innocently "Come down stairs and hang out once you're done." She teased before closing the door slowly.
"Well, that was awkward..." Weiss laughed, removing herself from the boy "Guess we should get presentable. I'm going my room and having a shower."
"Yeah, I guess I'll do the same." Jaune shrugged "There should be towels in the ensuite."
"Okay." She smiled, leaving the room with more sway in her step.
Jaune shook his head and let out a light laugh "What a day." He found some fresh clothes and made his way to his own shower.
After a nice, warm, fifteen minute shower, Jaune made his way downstairs and was greeted by the sight of Weiss and his sister hunched over, noses deep in a photo album "Oh great. You do know I was joking when I said you should ask Saph about those pictures?"
"I didn't even ask." Weiss replied between fits of giggles "Saphron insisted she show me."
"I'd show everyone if I could." Saph laughed "Just look how adorable you were. Blue is definitely your colour." She said, pulling out a single photo and holding it out for Jaune to see.
The boy sighed "Should've reported you for child abuse a long time ago." He took a seat next to Weiss.
"Oh behave." His sister grinned "I'm sure Weissy thinks you look adorable too."
Weiss' cheeks tinted a light pink at the nickname "You do look quite adorable." She agreed, pulling out another photo of Jaune in a white dress "Hmm..." She hummed, thinking back on a previous argument with Jaune. A mischievous smile crept onto her face "I guess white is your colour too."
~~~Vale University~~~
Nora skipped happily through the park "Ren, look how cute the fountain is!" She bounced on the spot.
"It is very cute." Ren agreed, silently setting up their blanket. The couple had agreed enough sex was enough sex for one day and decided to go on a romantic picnic at the local park.
Nora slid beside him and grinned "Cuter than me?"
"No, Nora. Nothing is cuter than you." Ren smiled as the bubbly girl kissed his cheek. He pulled out a can of grape soda and passed it to her.
"My fav!" She cracked the can open and took a big mouthful, laying on the soft blanket "This is the life."
"It is quite nice to be out of the house. Especially away from Sun and his new friend." Ren started to place different types of snacks and drinks on the blanket "You should have seen the mess they made."
"Awww leave Sun alone." Nora sat back up "It's about time he got over that other girl. Maybe this new person will be good for him." Nora booped his nose "Mr Negative." She smiled playfully.
Ren frowned. He had been trying to be less negative since he had started dating Nora, but he just couldn't seem to do it. It's not as if he hated Sun, he was just easily irritated. Who knew trying to be calm would be so difficult? "I'm sorry." He said sadly "I don't mean to be negative."
Nora cupped his cheeks "I know and I love you for it." She brushed her nose against his "I'd love you even if you were a depresso espresso constantly anyway!" She assured him.
"Oh, Ivori dear." A smug looking girl looked down at the couple before turning her head to face the boy she was currently locked arms with "Be mindful of the commoners." She spoke arrogantly.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Nora scowled at the couple and Ren put a hand over hers in an attempt to calm her.
"Ugh." Ivori groaned "I feel like I'm losing braincells just hearing the idiot speak." He feigned a headache, moving his free hand to his head "Come, Ciel. Wouldn't want to get dirtied from their gaze now, would we?"
Ren's eye twitched "Yes." He said "You should move along, before I replace that stick up your ass with my foot."
Ciel put a hand over her mouth appallingly "A mere commoner! Threatening my Ivori!" She screeched.
"Calm down, darling." Ivori unlinked his arm with the girl "This plebeian wouldn't stand a chance against me. I'll make sure the fiend doesn't live to see the sun rise tomorrow! I swear it on our love!"
"Oh, Ivori~" Ciel cooed lovingly.
By now, Ren was on his feet, squaring up to the snob "One more word and I'll send you back to daddy in pieces." He threatened.
"Yeah! Tell him, Renny!" Nora cheered on.
"Aren't dogs supposed to be on a leash?" Ivori spat, looking down at the orange haired girl.
'Fuck trying to stay calm.' He thought and not a second later, Ren's fist made contact with the boy's jaw. No one insults Nora and gets away with it.
Ivori stumbled back, but quickly came to and threw a punch of his own, hitting Ren in the stomach. Before he could do more, he was thrown to the floor and the hit his head against the floor "Get off of me, you rat!" He screamed as another fist met his face.
"Fuck him up, Ren!"
"Make him pay, Ivori!"
Ren was kicked off of the boy, landing near the fountain. Ivori got to his feet and charged the downed boy. As Ren got back up, he was tackled into the fountain, water splashing a nearby group of, now annoyed, students.
Ren managed to wriggle out from the other boys grip and stood to face his opponent, wiping the blood from his lip. Ren splashed through the water and grabbed Ivori's collar, delivering punch after punch to the dazed boys face "Apologise." Ren ordered.
"You'll pay for this!"
Ren raised his fist once more, but a strong hand held him in place. He angrily turned to face the interferer and was met with Sun staring at him.
Sun yanked him off of the beaten boy and out of the fountain "What the fuck is going on?" He asked.
"Not much..." Ren replied sarcastically "Just going for a swim."
Ivori stumbled up and fell out of the water. Ciel rushed over to help him to his feet "You're lucky your friend stopped us." He spat "I was about to unleash my full power!"
"What have I missed?" Sun once again asked, more confused now than ever.
"He called me a dog." Nora answered the boy "So Ren kicked his ass."
"I see." Sun turned to Ilia who was standing next to Nora "What do you think of all this?"
An unconcerned shrug "If a pompous dick were to call me a dog, I'd let my boyfriend beat his ass too." She answered "Quite frankly... I'm kind of annoyed you're holding him back right now."
Ivori paled "Come, Ciel. We must be off."
"Yes, darling." The rude couple scurried away.
"Shouldn't have stopped me." Ren sighed, upset that his activity for blowing off steam had been stopped prematurely.
"I'm sure he got the point." Sun pat him on the back "Ain't that right, Nora?"
The orange haired girl sauntered up to her boyfriend and stuck her tongue down his throat "I am so turned on by you right now~" She spoke seductively.
"Fucking gross..." Ilia looked disgusted.
