Monday morning. Sun was shining. Birds were singing. And Jaune's headache was beginning to make an unwelcome return. He had said his goodbyes to Weiss at the station to avoid anyone seeing them and catching onto their little secret and then made his way across campus, back to his dorm. He was not expecting to be face to face with his ex.

"Hello Jaune!" Came the, ever so, cheery voice of one Pyrrha Nikos "Been a while, hasn't it?"

Jaune blinked, pinched his arm, and blinked again "Pyrrha? You're real?" He said in disbelief.

"Yes, Jaune, I'm real." She gave a light laugh and took a step towards the stunned boy.

Jaune moved back "Why are you here?" He asked cautiously "Not that I'm upset or angry that you left me without a word or anything." Eyes hardening.

Pyrrha froze for a second before returning to her original place "I..." She started but was cut off.

"A whole year of thinking I did something wrong." Jaune continued as he unknowingly raised his voice "A whole year of thinking I wasn't good enough. Blaming myself! Thinking I could have been a better boyfriend! A whole year-"

"Jaune!"

"Of doubting myself!"

Silence fell over the room, with the only sound being Jaune's heavy breathing as he faced the ground. Everything was going fine. The weekend that had just passed had been one of the most enjoyable and freeing couple of days he had experienced since Pyrrha, so why did she have to show up now of all time? "...Why are you even here?"

"I. I wanted to say I'm sorry..." Pyrrha swallowed the nervous lump that had formed in her throat "I'm sorry I made you feel that way. I should have explained what was happening back then instead of just running away." Who knew apologising to a boy you mentally broke could be so difficult?

"So what? You thought you could just come back, apologise and walk back into my life? Is that it?" Jaune spat back "Cause that's not how these things work. You don't get to decide when to come back into my life." His blue eyes burned with betrayal "I've changed, Pyr."

Pyrrha smiled sadly as she let the boy continue.

"I'm getting better grades, I've met some amazing people and I've got an amazing group of friends who love me." His voice cracked but he continued "Even after everything I put them through..." He felt a warmth overcome him as a pair of arms pulled him into a soft hug "Why..." He whimpered softly "Why did you leave me?" He cried into her shoulder as the emotional barrier he had been carrying around, finally began to crack.

"I'm so sorry." Pyrrha spoke softly, tears slowly rolling down her cheeks "I shouldn't have just left..."

"How was ya weekend with your sister, Weissy?" Yang asked as she shifted into the seat next to her with a yawn "Who holds a lecture this early?" She complained.

"It's 11am and It was quite enjoyable, If I do say so myself." She couldn't hide the smile that had worked it's way onto her face. To say that the weekend she had just experienced was 'quite enjoyable' was a severe understatement.

Another yawn from the blonde "Sorry, Blake kept me up all night. You do anything fun?"

"Mmhmm." Weiss nodded "Cocktails, karaoke, movies. Those sorts of things. Have you ever drunk an Atlas Car Bomb?"

"Can't say that I have." She shrugged "And why does it sound like you're describing a date night?" Yang's eyes sharpened.

'Shit! She's on to me!' Weiss laughed "Don't be ridiculous, after the last boy I don't think I want a relationship ever again."

"I suppose that's fair."

'Close one.'

"Then what's up with the hickey?"

'Fuck!' Weiss made contact with the smug, lilac orbs "Scarf burn...?"

"Scarf burn?"

"Yes. Scarf burn." Weiss repeated "It was pretty cold up in Argus. I guess I had my scarf on too tight."

"She's not wrong there. It was bloody freezing." A voice came from the seat behind them.

The two girls turned to see who had joined their conversation and Weiss was met with a familiar, nosy redhead and her face dropped.

"Scarlet!" The white haired girl began to panic, this boy could let the events of the whole weekend slip and she couldn't let that happen. He knew too much and must be stopped!

"Hey Weiss! Fancy seeing you here." He laughed before turning to the blonde girl "Scarlet David and you are?"

"Yang Xiao Long." She smirked "And how do you know lil Weiss, here?"

"We met in Argus." His own smirk outmatched Yang's.

'NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!' Weiss screamed internally, begging the boy to not say anything more with her eyes.

Scarlet, thankfully, got the hint "You tend to make friends with the sisters who sung the entire Highschool Musical soundtrack." He laughed "Was a fantastic night out with them."

Weiss looked at the boy as if he was mental. Yang would never believe such a lie.

"I see." Yang nodded "Guess that makes sense."

'She believed it!?'

"Yup!" Scarlet beamed "Absolutely no one else was there."

Weiss' face dropped once more.

"I mean yeah." Yang eyed the boy up "You would have said right?"

'She's an idiot...'

"Wanna tell me again why you're here?" Sun asked.

"Cause I don't want to be at my place when Jaune gets back." Neptune didn't take his eyes off of the tv "You're pretty good at this."

"Thanks." Ilia responded as she continued to beat him at Smash Bros.

The trio were currently in Sun's dorm room with Neptune and Ilia lounging on the couch while Sun cleaned up the mess he and Ilia had caused over the weekend.

"Don't you have class or something?" Sun sighed, tying up the now full bin bag "Why did you specifically have to come here?"

"Come on man, you know I don't have any lectures on a Monday." The bluenette replied "And because where else would I go?"

"Literally anywhere." Sun exclaimed.

Ilia raised an eye at Neptune "What happened to all that crap about being there for your friend?"

Neptune sighed as the tv displayed Ilia the winner for the 5th fight in a row "I have decided that it is something that he should deal with on his own."

"You pussied out, didn't you?" Ilia asked and loaded up another game.

"Dunno what you're talking about." Neptune locked in his character and turned to the girl "Why are you even still here?"

"Hey!" Sun intervened, throwing the bin bag down by the door "She was invited, unlike you."

"What's the big deal? Not as if you guys were busy." Nep countered.

"Not true. We were actually just about to start a farm on Stardew Valley." Ilia informed the boy who looked at her in disbelief.

"You're kidding."

"Irrelevant." Sun groaned "You can't just keep coming here so you can avoid your problems."

"I'm not avoiding anything!"

"Bullshit!"

"Oh my god! Can you idiots just shut up?" Ilia growled "Seriously, if I didn't know you guys, there's no way I'd think you were besties."

Neptune stood up, throwing the switch controller on the couch "I don't need this kind of negativity in my life right now. I am leaving."

Sun sighed "Neptune..." He said, but the blue haired boy was already out of the dorm "Ah fuck."

"He'll get over it." Ilia waved her hand and motioned for him to come sit "Besides we have a farm to start."

"Fine." Sun took the now empty spot and picked up the controller "But, we're only playing for a few hours. This game is hella addictive."

"Yeah yeah." She said, closing out of Smash and loading up Stardew.

Jaune and Pyrrha sat awkwardly at the kitchen table. Pyrrha had explained why she did what she did and Jaune had somewhat understood her reasoning. That still didn't make this meeting any less awkward.

"So, is that the only reason you came back? To tell me why you left?" Jaune asked.

Pyrrha shook her head "I actually have track competition in Vale. I figured that it would be a good time to come and try and at least fix our friendship." She explained.

"I see... Track, huh? I thought you were focusing on becoming a sports coach?"

Pyrrha rolled her eyes and a small smile appeared "Sports therapist." She corrected "You always did get those mixed up."

"I guess I did." Jaune smiled himself "So why track?"

"I figured it'd be best to get some more experience and thought track would be a good idea. Helps me keep fit and focused!" She pumped her fist and grinned.

"Are you enjoying it over in Mistral?"

"Yes, it was difficult at first, but I've managed to make several friends who made everything easier." She replied "I've heard you've made several new friends too~" She sung "Most importantly a certain stuck up white haired girl."

Jaune put his head in his hands "How do you know about me an Weiss?" He groaned, confused as to how anyone would know about them after the weekend.

"No need to be embarrassed. She is quite cute if I say so myself." Pyrrha giggled.

"I never thought that I'd be talking about my new girlfriend with my ex, ya know?" Jaune gave a laugh, but quickly stopped when he saw the shocked look on Pyrrha's face. He had fucked up.

"You're girlfriend? Neptune told me it was just a fling!"

"I misspoke!"

"You're dating Weiss!" She excitedly jumped up from her seat "Oh my god, I'm so happy for you!" She squealed.

Jaune sighed "... I mean, it was going to get out eventually...You can not tell anyone, okay?"

"How come?"

"Because we don't even know what we are yet. We're just testing the waters at the moment." He explained "Promise me, Pyr."

"Fine fine, I promise." She deflated a little "Still, I'm glad you've moved on." She smiled.

"Yeah, me too." Jaune agreed "What about you? Dating anyone?"

"Nope!" She proclaimed happily "I don't really have the time. I'm sure if I found that perfect someone, I'd try my best to make it work, but at the moment I'm just far too busy."

"Always thinking ahead."

"You know me!"

Cardin Winchester was a strong, intimidating and outspoken young man, he would always say what's on his mind even if it meant hurting someone's feelings. He wasn't intentionally trying to upset people, he just never thought before he spoke and that would usually result in people ending up in tears.

"I'll have the strawberry and white chocolate protein shake." The young girl ordered. She was wearing a red and white vest with the number 1 printed on the chest with a matching pair of red shorts. She had a custom pair of black knee sleeves with red roses on the front. Her red and black hair shone with a light sheen of sweat and she wore a proud smile on her face.

"You'll need more than protein shakes if you want to bulk up, Shrimp." Cardin turned his back and smiled, preparing the girls order.

"Who says I want to bulk up?" The girl asked, a hint of amusement in her voice "And it's Ruby, not Shrimp."

"You've clearly come straight from the gym and judging by your physique, you're definitely into lifting weights." He gave her stomach a quick glance, noticing the signs of a 4 pack coming along "And I'd say you've been at it for quite some time now."

"Wow... That's not creepy at all." Ruby gave a light laugh.

"Sorry." Cardin went back to making the drink.

"It's fine. You could tell all of that from just a glance at me? That's actually really impressive." She smiled "Yeah, I've been at it quite a while. I had nothing else to do when I moved to this Uni, so I kinda just threw myself head first into the gym. Didn't see myself getting hooked though."

"Yeah, It's quite addictive." He shook a bottle of pink liquid and poured it into a tall glass, placing a strawberry on the top "When did you move?" He attempted to make small talk.

"Beginning of the academic year. It's not easy adjusting to everything when you get pushed forward two years." She sighed.

"Two years?" Cardin repeated in shock "I guess you've got the brains and the muscle." He placed the shake in front of Ruby and noted how her eyes lit up in joy.

"Thank you!" She plucked the strawberry up and bit in to the fruit, giving a soft moan of delight "God, I love these. How much do I owe ya?"

"7 Lien."

Ruby reached for her bag "No Pro-" Which she did not have "Uh..."

Cardin smirked "It's on the house."

"What? No no no. I can't possibly." Ruby stammered.

"Consider it a gift between friends." He smiled before moving to serve another customer "Maybe I'll see you in the gym sometime. Show ya how to lift properly." He smirked.

Ruby's face flushed as the older boy laughed. "My first friend..." She muttered into her glass with a smile.

Once the lecture was over, Weiss grabbed Scarlet by the arm and dragged him away. She brought him to a secluded corner of campus and glared at him.

"What's up, Weiss?"

"You can not tell anyone about me and Jaune." She poked him in the chest "No one can find out that I was with him over the weekend."

"Oh, how come?" Scarlet smirked playfully.

"Because I said so!"

"What's in it for me? I'm somewhat of a gossip."

"What do you want?" Weiss asked, shaking her head at the fact she was getting blackmailed.

"Hmm... I'll get back to you." He laughed.

Weiss groaned "Fine fine! But you cannot let anyone know. Deal?"

"Deal."

"Blueberries are more profitable..." Sun said.

"Oh! For real?" Ilia responded emotionlessly "In that case, I'll just buy loads of seeds..."

The two had been playing Stardew Valley for near enough 8 hours at this point. The sun had started to set and the only light in the room was from the game they were playing.

"Remember that we got the Luau tomorrow, so save any good crops for it..." The blonde reminded the girl.

"But I need my good crops for Pierre's quest."

"Balls."

"Balls indeed."
