AN: I was hoping to have this chapter up sooner but kept redoing it; I couldn't get it right, but I finally got something that I'm okay with; not much happens in this chapter, but the big battle with Ultron is coming up soon, hopefully, next chapter.

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Chapter 37: A surprise Rescue

Enid moaned as she tried to push the debris off her legs; she had spent the last two hours trying to dig herself out from under the rubble after getting buried when parts of the ceiling caved in on top of her; she had used her telekinesis to get her upper body free, but a piece of the debris covering her legs had a part of something stuck in it. It hurt to move, not to mention use her powers to throw it off.

Enid closed her eyes trying to figure out how she got here like this; she tried to think back to what happened after her fight with Thor and Steve Rogers; Enid and that Iron Man suit had been leaving with the android she had prepared for Ultron, she doesn't know what happened with it, she only remembers running the opposite way, she wanted to separate from it, distract the Avengers so the suit could get away with the android. Enid was planning to fight the other Avengers. Then the hold the Mind Stone had on her started to fade; her mind was trying to breakthrough. After a big struggle that gave her a nose bleed and a massive headache, with a lot of shouting, and she also may have banged her head against the wall a time or two; Enid was able to break free of the hold, but doing so made her lose control of her telekinesis, and the result was the ceiling caving in on top of her.

"Okay, Enid, you're a goddess. You can do this." Enid told herself; she took a deep breath and said the hell with it and used her mind to toss the debris off of her, while she screamed out in pain as the piece stuck in her leg broke from whatever it was attached to and stayed in her leg and pulled a little. Enid closed her eyes and decided to lay there until the throbbing in her leg easied a little bit.

"Damn, that hurt," Enid mumbled to herself, but then she sense someone or more than one someones standing over her, and a very familiar voice spoke.

"You know they say talking to yourself is the first sign of insanity."

Enid opened her eyes, hoping she was hearing things because him here right now, back on Midgard, was the last thing she needed. But again, her hopes didn't come true when someone else got down next to her and gently touched her arm, and she heard another familiar voice.

"Loki, don't tease her; she's hurt." Yep, there was no mistaking Saphira's voice nor the one of Loki's spoken before it. "Sister, are you okay? Can you hear me? Was that you, Loki, and I heard screaming?"

"I'm fine," Enid managed to get out, as she rolled over onto her back, then Saphira helped her to set up and lean against the wall Enid checked her leg and frowned; her jeans were ripped down the side, and she had a large piece of metal sticking out of her leg.

"Your leg has been stabbed," Saphira told her, then Enid hissed as Saphira touched it.

Enid checked her pockets. Unfortunately, she had lost her cell phone somewhere, and this place was just too big to look for it; it was also freezing, and she would love nothing more than a nice warm bath. Enid reached up and wiped her nose, the bleeding had stopped, and her headache was fading. Good, now she just had to pull the metal out of her leg, and Loki and Saphira can get her out of here, and hopefully, one would let her use their phone to call Thor.

Enid took both hands and tried to pull the metal out of her leg but stopped after a moment because it hurt like hell, and Enid could hardly take it. She let go of the metal piece and hit the wall in frustration.

"Maybe you shouldn't do that," Saphira suggested.

"I have to get it out so it can heal." Enid snapped; Saphira frowned at her but said nothing, and Enid felt bad for snapping at her when she was trying to help. But when she tried to say sorry, Saphira waved away the apology.

A part of Enid wanted to be pissed that Thor and the others just took off and left her, but another part understood she had still been under the scepter's control and had just fought the two toughest Avengers and helped Ultron make his new body. She just remembered she spent all day and night building more robot drones for Ultron; she needed to get to a phone and warn them. Enid hated to think about what else she did while under Mind Control. Enid grabbed hold of the metal and pulled again and got it to move a little, which. It caused her to cry out and let go.

"Ouch, " Loki said. "That looks painful." Enid glared up at him, and he just smiled back at her.

"Loki, that's not helping," Saphira told him, though she sounded amused rather than upset; Loki sat on the ground next to Saphira by Enid's leg and began to look it over; he took his hand and pushed it back a little as if trying to see how deep the metal piece was in, which cause pain she shot up her leg.

"Loki, stop." Enid cried, smacking at him, but he easily dodged her hand. "Where the hel did you two come from, anyway?"

"Sweetheart, if you don't know where gods come from by now, you and Thor have been doing your whole relationship all wrong," Loki replied, a smirk forming on his lips as Saphira giggled.

"You know what I mean." Enid snapped; she opened her mouth to say something else, but her words turned to a scream as Loki grabbed hold of the metal in her leg and pulled it out with one big jerk and without warning.

"Loki, " Saphira cried in surprise.

"You bastard, that hurt." Enid snapped, looking at her leg.

"I'm going to assume that is Alfheim for, thank you very much, Loki, you're a life savior," Loki said, giving her a wink. "And you're welcome, Enid, anything for my favorite sister-in-law."

"I'm your only sister-in-law." Enid rolled her eyes as she checked her leg.

"Unless Thor has gotten married to someone else since you two have been separated." Saphira put in; Enid turned her glare to her; she just smiled back at her. Enid noticed her sister looked a little different; she was dressed like the elves on Alfheim, and her hair was pushed back on one side by a braid on the side of her head, making her ear more noticeable.

"How did you know to come here?" Enid demanded.

"Tracked your cell phone." Loki replied, "Though lost connection to it right before getting here, but decided to look around anyway, just in case."

"Good thing we did," Saphira said.

"Oh," Enid said. "So, you came to Midgard just to find me?"

"Of course, why else would we risk coming back here?" Saphira demanded.

That made Enid smile a little as she grabbed the torn part of her jeans, pulled the rest of her pant leg out of her boot, and ripped the bottom off; she leaned her leg in, so she could look at it; there was a big gaping hole where the metal had been, she waved her hand over it, and dark purple magic came from her hands, and the wound began to close.

"I wish it had been that easy to heal me," Saphira told her.

"Your injury was much worse. Also, I have been studying and learning more healing magic, and it's a lot easier to heal yourself than others," Enid explains. Loki pushed her leg over again, checking where she healed herself.

"That's not bad; I should learn some healing." Loki frowned in thought then pulled away from Enid's leg.

Enid took a good look at him; Loki also looked a little different; his eyes had a softer look to them, he was less menacing, and his smirk was more teasing than anything; he looked less like the deranged mad man that attacked New York and a little more like the trickster she grew up with, but yet still somehow, gave off a warning of if you crossed him, you would regret it. It was like he was a little of both.

"Thank you," Enid told him, "For coming all this way to find me."

Loki gave a genuine smile that time, he wore the outfit he had made himself, along with the new helmet and fingerless gloves, but his hair was longer, covered his shoulders, making his face look a little different; it somehow suited him; Loki raised his eyebrow at her still watching him.

"I know I'm good-looking, but you should try to resist starring." Loki teased; Enid glared at him.

"Shut up." Enid snapped, "I wasn't starring; you look different."

"Not surprising, a God-like myself gets better looking each day," Loki replied with a smirk. Enid rolled her eyes as Saphira laughed; she reached out and pushed some of Loki's hair back off his shoulder.

"It's the hair; he decided to grow it out. Doesn't he look even more handsome?" Saphira asked.

Loki smiled at Saphira and took her hand and kissed it, then he stood, helped Saphira to her feet, then held his hand out to Enid, offering to help her up. Enid frowned at it.

"I don't bite." Loki said, "Unless you bite first." He smirked again and was enjoying annoying her. Enid rolled her eyes and took his hand, allowing him to pull her to her feet.

Enid stumbled a little, and Saphira quickly reached out and caught her. She frowned as she looked at her. "Did you have a nose bleed? Since when do you have nose bleeds? And you have a bruise on the side of your head."

"Your nose would have bleed too if you had to fight an Infinity Stone for control of your mind." Enid snapped. Loki gave her a surprised look.

"Wait, you broke the Mind Stone's control yourself?" Loki demanded; he sounded a little impressed.

"Yes, " Enid replied, "It was very hard, took a lot of concentration, and banging my head against the wall."

Loki looked her over; she must have looked awful because Loki decided to put one of her arms around the back of his neck and his arm around her waist so she could lean on him as he helps her walk, even though she had healed her leg.

"Let's get out of here," Loki replied, then wrinkled his nose. "You stink."

"You know just what to say to a lady," Enid replied; Loki laughed as they started walking; Saphira put her hand on Enid's back.

"Sister." Saphira said, "You're filthy; you are going to take a shower once you get on our ship."

"Good, because I would love nothing more than to have a bath," Enid replied.

"I'll loan you some clothes, though probably have to be leggings or something; I don't think your big hips will fit in my jeans," Saphira told her.

"Saphira." Enid snapped as Loki chuckled. "How did you guys even know I was kidnapped?"

"Thor called Loki a couple of days ago and explained about Ultron and you being captured, well glossed over, didn't say much," Saphira explained. "Thor assured us we didn't need to come and help save you; Loki agreed even though we were already heading this way, then Thor stopped answering our calls and text, so we tracked your phone here, decided to look around, good thing we did since Thor failed to save you, he will be getting an ear full from me."

"Sister, that's not necessarily." Enid tried. As they made it outside, a blast of cold air hit them, Enid and Saphira shivered, and Loki wasn't affected due to his jotuun blood.

Loki let Enid go, and Saphira chatted away about her and Loki's adventures as she led Enid to the spaceship; it was parked not too far from the building, and Enid could see Kurt and Remy standing on the top of the ramp, watching for them to come out.

"I don't get it," Enid said; as they walked up the ramp leading inside the ship.

"You don't get what?" Saphira asked.

"Why do you and Loki act so different?" Enid said at that moment.

"If you think I'm acting differently now, sister, don't worry, once we meet up with the Earth's mightiest assholes, I intend to kill Tony Stark," Saphira announced. Yep, that sounded more like her.

"You can't be serious, sister. You can't kill Stark." Enid sighed as she made it onto the ship and paused to look at Saphira. Kurt, always a sweet guy, handed Enid a cold bottle of water.

"I figured you would be thirsty after being held captive for days," Kurt explained; Enid smiled at him and took the lid off, and took a big drink.

"Thank you," Enid replied, then took a second drink.

"Why can't I kill him?" Saphira demanded, "Loki said I could use one of his daggers, didn't you, baby?"

"I did." Loki nodded. "Anything for my Queen." Both Kurt and Enid frowned at him; Remy just rolled his eyes as if he had gotten used to their murder talk but didn't believe they would do anything.

"Because it's murder," Enid said.

"Oh, come on, it's just Tony Stark," Loki replied, "Saphira wants revenge on what he caused you to go through."

"Then punch him," Enid replied, "Beat him up."

"That's no fun," Loki replied. "What's wrong with killing him?"

"A lot," Enid replied. "A lot is wrong with killing someone, and here I was thinking you two had changed."

"Ah, just let them kill him," Mystique said as she walked up to them. "They'll be doing the world a favor."

"Mother." Kurt snapped. Mystique rolled her eyes as she reached over and pressed the button to close the ship's door.

"Come on, sister; I'll show you to mine and Loki's chambers; you can use our bath," Saphira told Enid, taking her hand; Saphira turned to Loki and kissed him before dragging Enid down the corridor and into a large room.

"The bathroom is through there; you can go ahead and have a bath while I look for you something to wear." Saphira replied, "I believe I have some clothes I have never worn that might fit you. "

Enid entered the bathroom and started running a bath; she found everything she would need in a cabinet and borrowed a bathrobe of Saphira's, at least she thought it was Saphira's; it was light blue with pink gemstones on the back spelling out Queen. So, it was most likely her sister's, though nothing would surprise her at this point.

Enid sat it aside and climbed into the warm water, her headache was now gone, and she was feeling much better. After washing her body and hair, Enid leaned back and closed her eyes; she was trying to talk herself into getting out but was enjoying the bath too much; then she thought she heard the door open but figured it was only Saphira coming into check on her for taking so long, Enid was nearly falling asleep when she felt something weird touch her face, Enid opened her eyes as that thing moved to her hair and pulled.

Enid cried out and sat up real fast and looked to see the weirdest plant she had ever seen crawl away from the tub and over in the corner; it had no eyes, nose, or ears that she could see, but it was alive, more than any plant should be, the vines were a reddish color, along with the blooms on it, and leaves that were a deep red.

"You must be Rosey," Enid replied, just as there was a light knock on the door, and Saphira came in.

"I heard you cry out," Saphira said, then she caught sight of Rosey. "What have you been doing now?"

"It's okay; I was just startled, that's all," Enid replied, grabbing a towel and climbing out; as she wrapped it around herself.

Saphira walked over, picked up the plant, and left the bathroom; once Enid dried off, she put on Saphira's bathrobe then walked out into the bedroom; her sister immediately handed her a stack of clothes, which were a pair of black leggings and dark blue hoodie with glittery butterflies on the front.

"I know it's not something you would usually wear, but all I have that isn't a crop top; is the few hoodies Loki recently bought me; I could find you a shirt of his; I don't think he would mind," Saphira said.

Saphira went over to a large cabinet and opened both doors; one side had many shirts that were hung neatly, the other side had shelves, and on them sat different helmets. The top had Loki's old helmet or one just like it; the second self had a helmet like the one he was wearing now, but with longer horns, and without the weird symbol thing in the middle; instead, there were two green lines. Then there was one that looked to be more for women, it would frame the face more, and the horns were more towards the side and curled inward differently than the rest. The last helmet was a little like the old one, but not as big, wouldn't cover the whole head, horns a little shorter, and had a long ponytail thing hanging down the back.

"Loki hardly wears anything from this cabinet; I don't think he would mind if I loan you a shirt." Saphira frowned.

"This is fine, sister," Enid replied, turning from the cabinet and began to dress, afterward sat on the edge of the bed to put on her boots then Saphira led her out of the room and down the corridor to a game room, where everyone else had gathered. When they walked in, Enid looked around at everyone.

Mystique sat at a table looking over a map, Kurt and Remy were playing pool, and Loki leaned against the wall watching Kurt and Remy. Every time Remy missed a shot, Enid was sure she saw green at Loki's fingertips and a smirk on his face; when he caught sat of them, though, he walked over and led Enid to a couch and had her set down; Saphira sat next to her, Enid noticed Mischief was curled up asleep in front of the television.

Loki sat on the table in front of the couch and asked Enid to explain what Ultron was and how he kidnapped her. Thor hadn't explained it very well and just rushed through a lot; Loki's frown got deeper and deeper the more Enid told them what happened that night and up until they showed up to save her. Saphira burst out laughing when Enid let slip her fight with Thor and Steve Rogers.

"You beat up, Thor?" Saphira demanded, "I would have loved to see that."

"It's not funny, Sister; Thor probably won't..." Enid trailed off, not wanting to say it; she hoped Thor wasn't mad at her.

"Do not worry about Thor." Loki spoke up, "If I know my brother, he probably got a kick out of it. "

"Maybe," Enid replied. Rosey, the plant, came into the room and somehow knew Loki was here as it hurried over to him.

"Stop!" Loki demanded, pointing at it. "Do not come near me."

"Don't be mean to her," Saphira demanded as Rosey slowly began to move forward and reached a vine out to wrap around Loki's leg; he jumped up and moved away, swearing, which caused Enid to start laughing, along with Remy. Saphira jumped up and pulled Rosey away, and took her over to an empty pot hanging from the ceiling, and put her in it, which did no good, as she began to crawl out once Saphira turned her back to it.

"Where did you even get that thing," Enid demanded.

"Rosey isn't a thing. She's a plant, and I made her." Saphira replied, "Sorta, it was by accident; Ronan was choking Loki; I panicked and made vines grow to pull Loki away; I was wielding the Reality Stone when I did it, Loki thinks that has something to do with her being so alive."

"And the crush it seems to have on Loki?" Enid demanded. Saphira shrugged.

"I wouldn't call it a crush; she is still just a plant, though she is attached to him. The only thing I can think of was it might have gotten some of my personality; when I made it, I was worried Loki was about to be killed; I think my strong feelings went into making her, and somehow it ended up giving her feelings for him. I don't know." Saphira shrugged.

"I guess that could be why," Enid replied.

"I still say we should throw the thing off the ship into space somewhere," Loki replied.

"No, we aren't doing that," Saphira said.

"Ah, leave the thing alone, no?" Remy spoke up, "It's harmless."

"That's easy for you to say; it doesn't harass you," Loki replied.

"If you children are done bickering about a dam plant, we need to figure out where we are going," Mystique called over, as Saphira suddenly shivered like she was freezing.

"Are you cold?" Enid asked, frowning.

"She has been doing that a lot lately," Loki replied when Saphira shrugged, "She's also been tired a lot, sleeping late sometimes, and her powers get a bit out of sorts, I thought maybe the stones were affecting her, but I can't be sure, because the cold spells were before that."

"I'll have to look into it." Enid frowned, and Saphira looked annoyed

"You two haven't mentioned any of that to me." Mystique said she was looking at Saphira with a thoughtful look, and her eyes went to Saphira's stomach; Enid found her reaction weird.

"We can talk about it later, right now; we need to figure out where we are going," Saphira said, "We need to know where Thor is because they probably know where Ultron is and what he's doing, the problem with that is, Thor is ignoring our calls."

"Let me borrow one of your phones, see if I can get ahold of him," Enid said. Loki made his phone appear in his hand then handed it to her.

"Thank you, " Enid replied as she dialed Thor's number; it took a moment before he finally answered.

"Loki, I don't have time for..."

"Thor, " Enid interrupted. "It's me; I'm so so sorry about..."

"Enid!" Thor shouted into her ear, causing Enid to winched. "I've been so worried, ever since Vision said you weren't under Mind Control anymore, and you left your phone behind, I thought..."

"Whose Vision?" Enid asked, confused.

"The android we brought to life to help stop Ultron," Thor answered as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

"You what?" Enid demanded, "Please, tell me Stark didn't put some Ultron-like AI in one of his suits."

"Of course not," Thor replied, and before Enid could take a relieved sigh, Thor added. "We brought to life that android we took from Ultron."

"Wait, you don't mean that body I was forced to help make for Ultron, do you?" Enid demanded.

"Yes, it's okay; he's a good guy," Thor answered; then there was a loud thump as if he patted something on the back.

"Where are you now?" Enid demanded, running her hand through her wet hair.

"Quinjet," Thor answered, "Getting close to Sokovia, that's where Ultron is. We are beating him this time."

"Okay, I'll meet you there. I think I might have some help with me." Enid replied.

"Help? Do you mean Loki?" Thor asked.

"Yes, and Saphira, possibly a few others." Enid replied, "They showed up and rescued me, Thor; we need all the help we can get, so no attacking anyone that isn't on Ultron's side."

"I will tell the others," Thor replied.

"I guess I'll see you soon then," Enid told him, "And Thor...I love you."

"I love you too, Enid," Thor replied; Enid rolled her eyes when she heard someone aww, in the background. Thor hung up, and Enid did the same and reached the phone back to Loki.

"What did they do now?" Loki demanded.

"They brought another android to life," Enid replied. "They think it'll help take out Ultron."

"You're telling me The Avengers are having trouble beating one robot?" Saphira demanded.

"He also has hundreds of drone-like robots helping," Enid answered.

"So, what?" Saphira demanded, "It's still just robots, nothing more than hunks of metal that can move and speak."

"Sister, you're underestimating them; they are more than that." Enid replied, "Much more."

"Where is my brother at now?" Loki demanded, putting his hands on his hips.

"He and the rest of the Avengers are on their way to Sokoiva," Enid answered. "I guess it's their final battle or something."

"I'll go sent the ship to head that way." Mystique replied, leaving the room, after a glance towards Saphira.

"Saphira and I found this," Loki said. He made his now broken scepter appear and laid it on the table in front of the couch. Enid frowned at it.

"Why did you keep it?" Enid demanded.

"I'm going to fix it, put a bit of magic in it; I believe it could make a formidable weapon," Loki replied. "Any idea where the Mind Stone went?"

"Oh dear God." Enid cried; she had forgotten all about putting the Mind Stone in the android. She turned to Saphira. "I'm sorry, sister, but when I was under Ultron's control, he had me put it in the android he meant to use as his new body."

"What?" Saphira demanded. "Please tell me that it isn't the robot those idiots just brought to life?"

"It is," Enid said.

"They brought a robot to life that has my Infinity Stone in it?" Saphira demanded, "How dumb can they be? They had no right."

"Darling, " Loki replied, walking over and put his arm around Saphira and pulled her to him. "Stay calm; we'll get it back once we deal with Ultron."

Enid frowned as she watched Loki and Saphira; she didn't care much for how Saphira referred to the stones as hers, and she could tell from the look Loki had when she said it, he didn't like it either. Saphira took a deep breath and looked to Enid.

"Now, can I kill Tony Stark?" Saphira demanded.

I'm not sure how long the next chapter will take to get up, hopefully not too long, and I'm hoping to make it the final fight with Ultron. I can move on from this plot; not sure what will happen next.
