AN Sorry it's taking so long to update, been busy, plus I couldn't get the chapter right, still not sure if I'm completely happy with it, but best I'm going to do, sorry if parts seem rushed and is basically a filler chapter but some good things, I should warn, is some talk that I guess you could say was adult-themed, not sex, but if talking about babies and wombs and whatnot makes anyone uncomfortable, here is your warning, don't mean to spoil anything but thought it needed to be warned, just in case.

Chapter 39: Discoveries
Loki smiled a little; as Saphira pulled the blanket she was using up over her shoulders and snuggled more into his side; at the moment, they were snuggled together on the sofa in the entertainment room, her, Kurt, and Remy were watching a movie; Remy was over in the chair, his eyes were going back and forth between the film and his phone, Loki guessed he was texting Rogue, as Remy planned to see her the moment they landed in New York, Mystique wanted to stock back on their supplies before leaving Midgard anyway, so, he would have time.
Loki sat in the middle of the sofa, Saphira on one side of him, with her arm through Loki's while her head was on his shoulder; Loki had his feet propped up on the table in front of him, one leg crossed over the other, while Saphira was turned sideways, with her feet up on the sofa, her legs bent, so her knees were lying on his leg, Loki didn't mind, he loved when Saphira snuggled to him.
On the other side of Loki sat Kurt, who wasn't paying attention to the movie but rather the book in Loki's hand; he was showing Kurt a few spells that Loki wanted him to try. The sight of the two was a little amusing, as Kurt was sitting like Loki, with his legs propped up on the table also, with one foot crossed over the other, looking at the book almost the same way Loki was, they had even dressed similarly, as they changed since the fight with Ultron; both in jeans and long sleeve shirts; Kurt's jeans were dark blue. His shirt was red, Loki's jeans were black, and his shirt was royal blue, and both had on black boots.
It had been at least five hours since Saphira threatened Tony Stark, and about an hour ago, they landed in the country, taken in the Sokovian refugees. The Avengers, along with Enid, and Vision had gotten off the spaceship after it landed to help with everything; Steve Rogers had asked Enid to accompany them because of her background in law, make sure everything was all legal. Though Enid didn't know much about this sort of thing, she agreed to see if she could be of help; Tony Stark tagged along, for reasons unknown, Thor, Barton, and Romanoff were helping the people off the ship. Vision followed Enid, promising Thor he would watch over her and make sure she stayed safe. Safe from what exactly Loki didn't know, but the Android seemed to have suddenly become protective of Enid and, shockingly, Thor, who was just as confused as Loki was by the robot's actions.
And Loki wasn't sure where Mystique was; she may have been in the control room, or her room, kitchen, or game room; Loki just knew she hadn't gotten off the ship since coming to Midgard, and she had been in the room with them at the start of the movie when Saphira suddenly started feeling cold and had asked Loki to get her one of the extra covers from their room, Mystique had not been in the room when Loki had returned.
Loki turned a page in his book; and pointed at a spell for Kurt to do; after a couple of tries, there was suddenly yellow canaries flying around above their heads, not live ones, of course, nor was it the same as Loki's illusions, something Loki hasn't moved to teach Kurt yet, it was just a spell, a simple one, Kurt was getting good at them. Loki had surprised himself with how easy it was to become friends with Kurt and how quickly he came to care for his new brother; lately, Loki had been comparing his relationship with Kurt to the one he had with Thor, even if Loki wouldn't admit it to anyone, but, himself, Loki did love Thor as a brother, though sometimes his jealousy in the past told him otherwise, he and Thor were siblings but not friends, there was little like between the two, Loki and Thor loved each other, but didn't like each other; they were too different, and it was hard for Loki to get past Thor's self-righteous attitude, and too hard for Thor to get passed Loki's miscellaneous nature to form a genuine friendship, so Thor was his brother, but not a friend.
With Kurt, it was different; Kurt listen to him, didn't judge Loki with what he did in the past, and seemed to think he could be a good person and wants to be more than just a brother; Kurt also wanted to be his friend, and Loki had surprised himself with wanting a friendship with Kurt, he enjoyed talking to Kurt, and teaching him magic, was pleased when Kurt was able to do the spells and charms Loki showed him. Thor would never be patient enough to learn magic like Loki's or form a friendship with Loki.
Saphira raised her head off Loki's shoulder for a moment so he could show Kurt a movement he had to do to get a spell right after Kurt got it and moved on to another one, Saphira pulled her sleeves down to cover her hands and put her head back on Loki's shoulder, snuggling into the covers, wrapping them around her, causing Loki to look at her curiously.
"Are you that cold?" Loki demanded; he reached under the blanket to feel her hand, but of course, he wouldn't be able to tell if she was cold or not since his hands were always cold due to his jotuun blood.
"Do you think we can make another stop before we leave Midgard," Saphira asked, "Besides the stops we are already going to make?"
"We are already making several; one more isn't going to hurt," Loki answered. "Where is it you wish to go?"
"I want to stop by our house," Saphira replied, "Find me some normal t-shirts, maybe a couple of blouses and the sweatpants Enid bought me when I was hurt; I'm going to be needing something. Other than crop tops and hoodies and jeans soon."
"Cloths?" Loki demanded. "You want to make a stop just for clothing?"
"Yes, " Saphira answered. "All the clothes I have here are crop tops, hoodies, jeans, and my battle outfits. If I'm right in what I believe, I'm going to be needing comfortable clothes soon."
"Alright, darling." Loki gave in, smiling a little; he never could refuse Saphira anything. "We'll run by our house before going to New York."
"Thank you." Saphira smiled, "You're the best."
"I know," Loki replied, leaning in and kissing her. When he pulled back, he pushed her hair behind her ear and smiled at her. Kurt was laughing a little at the two of them, and Loki shot him a look, and Kurt held up a hand in mock surrender.
"Sorry, it's just funny how Saphira has you wrapped around her finger," Kurt replied.
Loki gave him a dirty look a moment longer than turned towards the television in time to see a guy dressed as a pirate go rolling down a hill, narrowing his eyes in confusion; Loki watched as the blond-haired woman screamed something about her Westley then go rolling down the hill after him.
"This movie is bloody ridiculous; no one would do that," Loki said, making a face.
"What? You wouldn't go rolling down a hill after me?" Saphira teased; she tended to do that when Loki took the stuff they were watching too seriously, which happened a lot.
"No, " Loki replied, seriously, "I would simply teleport to the bottom where you land."
Saphira started laughing as she put her head back on his shoulder and started watching the movie; Loki turned back to Kurt and the book; Saphira watched the film for a moment before speaking again.
"Loki, " Saphira said; Loki turned back to her.
"Yes, love?" Loki asked. Saphira raised off his shoulder again and looked at him; she chewed on her lip a moment before speaking again.
"I've been thinking about my symptoms, and I think I know what's causing them," Saphira told him.
"Oh, and what might that be?" Loki asked, hoping she knew and was alright.
"I'm not sure how you'll react to this; I'm excited at the thought of me being right, though I am a little concerned about how it will affect everything." Saphira started to explain. "Though I'm confused about the cold spells, maybe that's not connected, but..."
"Darling, what is it?" Loki asked; he had difficulty keeping up with her ramblings and understanding what she was trying to say.
"I...remember how we talked about having a family in the future?" Saphira asked. On Loki's other side, Kurt looked over at them, and Loki frowned deeper, wondering what that had to do with anything.
"Yes." Loki answered, "What does it have to do with anything?"
"I think we might be starting it a little early," Saphira answered. Loki's eyes widened; she wasn't saying what he thought she was saying. Was she?
"Do you mean you think you're...?" Loki didn't finish the question; he didn't want to hear her say no.
"Yes." Saphira replied, "I'm pretty sure I am; with the mood swings, tiredness, though I don't understand the cold spells, what those have to do with it."
"Your husband is half frost giant," Mystique said, walking into the room; she was carrying one of Loki's dark green tea mugs with a gold L on the front; she held it out to Saphira. "Here, drink; it should help with being cold. It's getting annoying watching you set here and shiver."
Mystique glanced over at Loki and Kurt, looked between the two, and raised her eyebrows; Loki could swear he saw a flicker of a smile cross her usually emotionless face before turning her attention back to Saphira, as she took the cup from her, then looked in it; took a sip, and after a moment, she looked up at Mystique and grinned.
"Hot Chocolate," Saphira said, sounding surprised. "It works."
"I thought it would; that's the one thing that always worked with me." Mystique answered, "When I was having symptoms a lot like yours, but that was over a thousand years ago, and hot chocolate was a bit different back then, then it is now."
"You had these same symptoms?" Loki asked; he was pretty sure he knew what she might.
"Yes, when I was pregnant with you, being a shapeshifter helped. I was able to take on the form of a Jotuun to help with the pain and cold." Mystique replied.
"Pain?" Loki demanded, looking between Saphira and Mystique.
"I haven't experienced much of that," Saphira replied. "Just sharp suddenly pains that go away almost immediately." Loki frowned at that; Saphira never mentioned any pain to him.
"That's just the start, you'll feel more, but it won't last too long." Mystique replied.
"But why is she even having the pain?" Loki asked, concern in his voice.
"It's normal, nothing to worry over. It's why Jotuuns don't topically have children with those outside their kind." Mystique replied, "That is extremely rare and has to be someone with a body strong enough to take it; as I said, I was able to because of my shapeshifting."
"But, Saphira..."
Mystique didn't answer Loki but instead turned back to Saphira, who looked a little worried.
"I wouldn't worry; you're an Asgardain goddess." Mystique replied, "And your baby is even less Jotuun than Loki. You'll be able to handle it. From what I can tell, your body is getting itself ready to carry the baby and allow it to grow; the pain and cold is your womb making a nice icy place for your baby to live and develop for the next several months."
"So, you're saying the inside of my body is freezing over?" Saphira asked.
"Basically, yes." Mystique replied.
"Are you positive about this?" Loki demanded. "I mean her being with child?"
"Yes." Mystique answered.
"Darling, are you alright?" Loki asked, "Are you feeling any pain now?" Saphira looked up at him, smiled, and shook her head.
"I'm happy, but I'm a little concerned," Saphira replied. "If Mystique and I are correct, and I'm sure we are, then will we be putting an innocent child in danger? We already have two Infinity Stones. What will happen when we have them all, and what about Thanos?"
"Our plans do not change; we'll still finish the quest," Loki replied, "We'll have an extra person with us is all; you're a goddess, your body will protect our child with all your abilities and power, you don't have to worry about that, and I will protect you, and we both will protect our child together after its born."
"So, we can make this work; if I am, and I hope I am, now that the idea is in my head, I want a baby now, not in the future," Saphira replied; Loki smiled at her and leaned in to kiss her, then pulled away.
"We can make it work; our little prince or princess will be very protected," Loki promised. Saphira grinned at him. Loki smiled back; he looked so happy at the moment.
"And very spoiled." Kurt put in. Loki's smile dropped a bit as he turned to his brother to say something but then didn't because Kurt was right; his and Saphira's child probably will be spoiled.
"We won't be like our fathers." Saphira added, "We'll be good loving parents."
Saphira turned right on the couch, then leaned forward to set her now empty mug on the coffee table. Look thought about her words; Father, that's right, that's what Loki was going to be, and he couldn't believe it. Saphira was going to have his child, a living being he and Saphira made together.
"I'm going to be a father," Loki said as if that just dawned on him; he laughed and jumped up, grabbed Saphira and pulled her up with him, and hugged her, then suddenly lifted her off the ground and swung her around while laughing more. Kurt smiled at the two of them.
"Loki, baby, try not to get too excited; we don't know if it's true yet," Saphira told him as he sat her back down. "We have to find a way to confirm it."
"And need to find out how far along you are." Mystique replied. "Confirming it is a good idea, but I'm confident I'm right about this."
"Looks like ole Remy is going to be an Uncle," Remy said, walking up behind Saphira and putting his arm around her shoulder; Loki scowled; he knew there was nothing between Remy and Saphira and never would be, but it still annoyed Loki when the fool, put his arm around his wife or made any reference to her being his sister.
"LeBeau, you do realize my wife is not your sister, right?" Loki demanded, "You truly are not kin of me, my wife or my child, by blood or marriage." Remy grinned; he winked at Saphira, then turned back to Loki.
"Yes, but do you remember I am married to your sister?" Remy pointed out, Saphira started giggling. Loki frowned at him; damn, he was right. "So, we are brothers-in-law. I am going to be your child's uncle."
"She's adopted," Loki replied, without thinking, just disparate, not to be related to LeBeau in any way, which caused Saphira to burst out laughing, as Remy dropped his arm from around Saphira's shoulder, shaking his head, looking amused, it further annoyed Loki, that this Midgardain never took his threats toward him or his dislike of him seriously.
"She's still my daughter and your sister," Mystique told him; she nodded her head towards Thor, who had just walked into the room, along with Enid. "If you can claim that, you're claiming Rogue. Even if her taste in men is questionable."
"Hey, " Remy said as Mystique walked off, leaving the room; Enid and Thor gave her a confused look as she passed them. Her words had amused Loki a little. He liked how his birth mother wasn't very fond of Remy LeBeau either.
"Gambit," Kurt spoke up, making Saphira, Loki, and Remy turn to him. "I will be this child's uncle also, probably the favorite at that," Loki smirked at that. It would seem Kurt was starting to get his smart mouth.
"You wish, mon ami," Remy replied.
"Child? What child?" Enid demanded, putting her hands on her hips, and looking around at them.
"Sister, I'm glad you are here," Saphira replied; she grabbed Loki's hand and pulled him over to where Enid and Thor were standing; smiling, Saphira explained everything to Enid, Loki watched as Enid frowned; she didn't seem happy at all about the chance her little sister could be pregnant, Loki understood, Enid was worried, after all right now isn't the ideal time for them to bring a baby into the world. Still, if Saphira was, Loki was going to make sure she and their child stayed safe. Loki quietly watched as Enid laid her hand on Saphira's stomach, whispered something he didn't quite catch, then frowned deeply, shot him a dirty look before turning back to Saphira and nodded.
Saphira smiled and turned to Loki, but before Loki could say anything, Thor let a cheer. To Saphira's shock and Loki's displeasure, he then rushed forward and lifted Saphira off her feet in a hug, cheering something about being an uncle, then looked upwards and started yelling for Heimdall to tell their mother quickly the good news; Loki watched as Enid shot Thor a glare, before leaving the room, Thor didn't seem to notice, and Loki was the only one to see Enid wasn't at all pleased by this news.
Annoyed, Loki was able to pull his wife away from his brother, and took Saphira's hand and led her back to the sofa where Kurt still sat, looking through Loki's magic book, Saphira sat back down in the spot she had been sitting in before, Loki picked up the blanket she had been using, and covered Saphira up, before sitting between Kurt and her and allowed Saphira to snuggle into him as he turned to Kurt who asked him a question about something in the book, Loki started explaining it to him as Saphira went back to her movie, which Loki hoped would be over soon because really, it had to be the dumbest movie Saphira has ever watched.
Sadly, Enid, Thor, and Vision had been the only ones to have returned, and the others didn't show up until they were halfway through a second movie; Thor and Vision had disappeared a while before, off to find Enid, who had never returned after leaving the room, but Steve Rogers joined them in the entertainment room, watching the movie, Kurt went to help Mystique get their spaceship in the air. Loki was a little surprised; Rogers didn't make any smart remarks or act as if he hated Saphira and Loki and seemed willing to look over what they had done just because they showed up to help.
Loki knew Tony Stark was not happy that Captain America and Thor were going to allow Loki and Saphira, along with Mystique, leave the planet again, instead of having them all thrown behind bars, which was why Loki found it amusing how Mischief kept popping up where ever Stark was to hiss at him and swat at him with his claws. Then two hours into their flight, Saphira asked Loki to make her another cup of hot chocolate. When he entered the kitchen, Stark was sitting at the table eating a sandwich, and as Loki filled the kettle with water, set it on the stove, and turned it on, Loki couldn't resist the smart remarks he allowed start flying from his mouth. He was not disappointed with Stark's replies. The taunting soon turned heated; then Stark threatened to get his Iron Man glove; Loki just laughed as he took the lid off the can of Hot Chocolate powder and threatened to sick Saphira on him.
The threat had the results Loki had been hoping for; Stark's face turned red in embarrassment, and he jumped up out of his seat and told Loki he didn't need his glove, he'll punch the smirk off his face without it; when Stark took a threatening step towards Loki, Rosey; the plant had appeared out of nowhere and jumped on Stark and attacked him; Loki did nothing to help get Rosey off him. Instead, he laughed as he took a spoon and dropped hot chocolate mix into his mug for Saphira.
"That plant is starting to grow on me," Loki said as Stark finally got loose and stormed out of the kitchen, nearly bumping into Enid as he went; Enid saw Loki, then turned around and went to leave. "Stop."
Enid paused and turned to face him. "What do you want, Loki? I have things to do."
"Really?" Loki demanded, picking the kettle off the stove and pouring water into the mug. "Funny, you were just about to walk in here."
"What do you want me to say, Loki?" Enid demanded. "Want me to tell you how stupid you and Saphira were for letting this happen?"
Loki paused in stirring the hot chocolate and frowned up at Enid. "I beg your pardon?"
"Out of all the magic and all the spells you can do, did you never learn a birth control, one? " Enid demanded, "Because you two bringing a child into the world at this moment is completely stupid."
"Do not say that." Loki demanded, "Do not say something made from Saphira, and my love for each other is stupid."
"For the love of the nine realms, listen to yourself." Enid demanded, "What I'm trying to say has nothing to do with that. You are not thinking logically about this, you both are wanted criminals that are flying around the Galaxy looking for powerful stones that who knows what powerful forces might be after, and you still have a chance of Thanos showing up seeking revenge for your failed attempt to get him the tesseract. You don't think bringing an innocent, helpless baby into this is stupid? You two should have been more careful."
"My child will be protected; if Thanos were to show up, I would have Kurt grab them, along with Saphira, and teleport somewhere safe," Loki replied. "Kurt has already sworn to me he would do this for my wife; he will have no problem with taking my child if need be."
"But still, you have no way of knowing he could do that in time," Enid replied. "And what about everything else?"
"You need to stop acting as if everything Saphira and I do is going to be some giant cosmic mistake." Loki told her. "and for once be happy for us, be happy for her, the sister you claim to love; I know you won't stop worrying, but we have two infinity stones and might be getting one more soon, I'm powerful, so is Saphira, we have Kurt, Raven, LeBeau, I believe we can handle any threat that comes our way."
"Loki." Enid sighed as he picked up the hot chocolate and walked past her to leave the kitchen. Loki paused and turned back to her; he was tempted to throw her earlier words back at her before leaving the room but decided against it.
"Look, if it came down to it, I will throw away my pride and seek refuge on Asgard," Loki replied, "Odin is a complete ass, but I do not think he would refuse shelter and protection for the woman carrying his grandchild or grandchild if already born, Mother wouldn't allow it. I would even allow myself to be locked back into the dungeons if that is what it takes."
With that, Loki left the room and headed towards the entertainment room to give Saphira her hot chocolate, which he had to use magic to warm back up a little. His annoyed mood with Enid faded when Saphira smiled at the sight of her hot chocolate, something Loki was sure she would be tired of by the time their child was born. Loki had done some math, and he was pretty sure Saphira was just under two months along, around six weeks, so their happy accident would have happened not long after they left Midgard. He thought about what Enid said about using a spell, and Loki always did take some form of precautions; he knew all the right spells, so either one failed (not likely), or they were a time they got a bit carried away, and he forgot to cast the spell.
Unfortunately, Loki's good mood soon turned to anger when Enid and Thor finally joined them in watching movies; Saphira brought up stopping at their house to Enid; Thor had winched then confessed that they destroyed half of their home when they had hidden out there and brought Vision to life, Loki's face took on his angry look as he shouted at his brother, but that ended when Saphira had jumped up and attacked Thor, punching him and calling him every name she could think of before Loki was able to pull her off, she pulled herself from him, then turned and headed out of the room threatening to go after Tony Stark, both Enid and Thor rushed to stop her leaving.
Even though she had just been beating him up; Thor had felt so bad about helping destroy her house that he promised to rebuild her kitchen himself with his own two hands; which got a little laugh out of Saphira as she was starting to calm down; Enid spoke up and assured Saphira her insurance should pay for any damages, and if not, she would pay it herself, in which Saphira told her she should send the bill to Tony Stark. Saphira left the room soon after to fix herself something to eat, afterwords her and Loki went to their chambers away from everyone.
When they finally got to their house, Enid and Thor were the only ones to get off the ship with them; Saphira ignored the damage, for the most part, heading straight to their room to get what she came for; when she was done, she immediately left the house and went back to the ship, where they headed straight to New York.
By the time they got there, it was real late, so after dropping off Vision. The Avengers minus Thor, at Avengers tower, they all flew to Enid and Thor's apartment building where Loki and Saphira decided they were staying the night, Remy, Mystique, and Kurt decided to sleep at Remy and Rogue's apartment, which wasn't very far away, so, after agreeing to meet up sometime before lunch tomorrow morning to make a plan to find the Time Stone, and leave Midgard, they flew off to Rogue's apartment.
"Sister, you're letting your plants die," Saphira said when entering the apartment; she sat Mischief on the floor and rushed over to the welting plants in the corner, as Loki entered the room, carrying the bag he and Saphira had packed what they needed for an overnight stay.
"Well, it is hard to take care of them while being held hostage by a crazy robot," Enid replied as she walked into the room.
"That's no excuse," Saphira replied, then paused and turned to her sister, who was frowning at her. "I shouldn't have said that; I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about it," Enid to her, "Just, don't bring my plants to life, as you did her." She nodded towards Rosey, standing next to Loki's legs, then turned and headed down the hallway.
"Think I'll get ready for bed," Thor yawned and stretched his arms; he turned to Saphira. "You probably should get some sleep; it's late, and you need all the rest you can get."
Saphira turned to Thor with a frown, but he was already heading down the hall; she glanced at Loki, who rolled his eyes at Thor, and Saphira turned back to Enid's plants; Loki didn't say anything as he watched her tend to the plants; using her ability to bring them fully back to life; about ten minutes later, Enid returned to the room carrying a flower pot and a square thing that had a plug on it.
"Here in case Rosey needs it," Enid said, sitting the flower pot down on a table, "And here, I found this looking for the flower pot; I thought it might help you." Enid handed Saphira the square thing; she frowned at it, a confused look on her face.
"A heating pad? What would I need this for?" Saphira asked; Enid raised her eyebrow.
"Well, I figured it would come in handy when you become a walking mini Jotunheim," Enid replied; Saphira smiled a little. Loki had no idea what a heating pad was, but by what Enid said and its name, Loki guessed Midgardains used it to keep themselves warm.
"Oh, it actually might work, sister, thank you," Saphira said and, to Enid's shock, hugged her. When she pulled away, Enid turned to go back to her and Thor's room, and Loki picked up their bag, and he and Saphira went to the spare bedroom.
"How are you feeling, darling," Loki asked as he tossed the bag on the bed, then walked over and put his arms around Saphira's waist and laid his chin on her shoulder.
"I'm fine, baby, a little tired." Saphira replied, "Though I am still a little upset about our house, hopefully when repaired, it'll be good as new."
"If not, we will seek revenge by blowing up their Avengers tower," Loki replied; Saphira laughed and turned in his arms to face him; she kissed him, then still smiling, pulled away to get something to sleep in out of their bag. Which lately was one of Loki's silk pajama tops, with an added pair of sweatpants; while she changed, Loki magically turned his clothes into pajamas then leaped on to the bed, and laid in his back, with his arms behind his head and one leg crossed over the other, smiling Loki winked at Saphira.
Shaking her head with a smile, Saphira crawled in bed next to; he rolled over to face her.
"What do you want our little one to be?" Loki asked, laying his hand on her stomach; he couldn't wait until he could feel the baby moving.
"I don't care to be honest, as long as the baby is healthy and happy." Saphira smiled; Loki leaned in and kissed her, then sat up, reached over and lifted Saphira's top and placed a gentle kiss on her stomach then laid back down next to Saphira and smiled.
"You have made me the happiest God in the galaxy, darling," Loki replied.
"Being so sappy doesn't suit you," Saphira replied, but she was smiling as she said it, "But I'm glad you are happy; I'm just as happy.."
"Our child," Loki replied, smiling. "I love how that sounds."
After a few shared kisses between the married couple, Saphira turned with her back to Loki, who put his arm around her waist and held her close to him; he fell into a deep sleep about ten minutes, after Saphira did, both feeling happy at the moment, and both sleeping peacefully, for once without dreams.
Outside the sun had risen, but Loki was still in a deep sleep; having rolled over on his back during the night, he laid with one arm lying up above his head, and the other lying on his side, with one leg bent, while the other one straight out, the blankets were lying around his waist.
Loki had no idea that the bedroom door was now open and that an intruder had entered the room and crawled up onto the bed until a stinging pain suddenly woke him. Loki's eyes flew open, and he sat up in bed confused as he rubbed his cheek, which now had a scratch on it and was bleeding a little.
Mumbling a few swear words, he looked for the source that caused his pain to see Rosey on the bed next to him, reaching a vine out towards him again.
"What the bloody hell did you do that for?" Loki demanded, glaring down at the plant, who smacked him again, this time on the shoulder, and even though Loki was wearing a top, it still stung; Loki cried out in anger then went chasing Rosey out of the room and down the hall, what he would do to it when he caught it Loki had no idea. Still, he was pissed that this thing had the nerve to attack him in his sleep.
When Loki made it into the living room where Rosey led him, he stopped in confusion; she was sitting by the front door, which was wide open; Loki wasn't sure if Rosey could open it or not, but when he went over to close it, Rosey crawled out it, too angry to chase after the thing, Loki closed the door then paused when he went to turn the lock. His heart nearly stopped when he suddenly realized something, turning; Loki ran down the hall back to the room he slept in, flipped on the light, to see Saphira was not there.
Loki ran his hand through his hair as he tried not to panic and think logically she could be somewhere else in the apartment; after all, Saphira's cell phone was lying on the table next to the bed, and the shoes she was wearing when they got here, and her jacket was still lying where she had taken them off last night, turning Loki ran out of the room he looked up and down the hall then sighed in relief when he heard someone in the bathroom, Loki walked to the door and knocked on it.
"Saphira, darling, are you in there?" Loki asked; the bathroom door opened to reveal Thor.
"Why would Saphira be in the bathroom with me, brother?" Thor asked him; Loki didn't answer. Instead, he turned away and hurried to Enid and Thor's bedroom, pounded on the door, then, without waiting for a reply, opened it and walked in and flipped on the light.
"What's going on?" Enid demanded, rising a little and covering her eyes trying to shield them from the sudden light.
"Saphira isn't in here," Loki mumbled, looking around; he didn't think she would be, but Loki was starting to get desperate.
"Of course not, Loki. What's going on?" Enid demanded, "Why?"
He didn't wait for Enid to finish her question as he pushed past Thor out of the room, then checked Enid's office; it was empty; Loki then checked the bathroom anyway; nothing, deciding he was wasting time, Loki headed back down the hall towards the front door, pushing past Enid and Thor, who had walked out of the bedroom confused by what was going on.
"What happened to your face?" Thor demanded as they followed after them.
"Loki, what the hell is going on?" Enid demanded, "Where is my sister?"
"She's gone," Loki shouted as he headed towards the front door and opened it; Rosey was standing on the other side and crawled into the room when Loki leaned out the door, looking up and down the hallway.
"Gone?" Enid demanded, "What the hell do you mean gone?"
"I don't know, Enid, what does gone mean?" Loki asked as he walked out of the apartment, with Thor and Enid hurrying behind him; Enid shouting questions.
Loki ignored them as he ran down the hall, got on the elevator, and took it down; when he made it to the bottom floor, he got off and ran to the big glass doors that led outside. It had snowed pretty heavy during the night and was still coming down pretty hard; when Loki opened the door and stepped out, the snow came past his ankles; Loki looked around for any clue where Saphira went.
"Loki, I don't understand what the hell is going on," Enid said; from the open door, she didn't step out because she had no shoes on. "Where is Saphira?"
"I don't know." Loki said, "Rosey woke me up." He pointed at the cut on his cheek, "When I chased after her, I found the front door was open, and Saphira was gone."
"Brother, " Thor said, laying his hand on Loki's shoulder; unlike Enid, Thor had walked outside in the snow in his bare feet. "We will find her."
Loki didn't answer as he tried to decide what way to go; Loki had no idea how he was going to find his wife; her phone was left behind so he could not track it, and if she had left any prints, the snow falling from the sky had covered them up, Saphira was barefoot, without a coat, most likely still wearing her nightclothes, and for some reason had decided to get up in the middle of the night and without a word to anyone, take a walk in the snow.
AN This chapter was a bit of a setup for the next, and yes, there is a reason for them having a kid, all that will be told in future chapters, I have plans. Hopefully, I don't get writer's block, or something happens that I don't finish this story. I have the next chapter wrote; it just needs to be gone over and stuff; if nothing comes up to don't get busy, it should be up in a day or a few days.
