AN: Not much in this chapter; it's the start of the plot that popped in my bed, and no action or anything in it, but I still like it, and it'll lead to a fight in a couple chapters.

Chapter 64: Enjoying Life

Mystique stood with one foot in a chair, tucking a knife into her right boot; she already had two daggers hooked to her sides and her gun strapped around her thigh; she couldn't believe she had agreed to this, allowing someone else on her spaceship for a month, because she couldn't say no to Kurt when he asked her if Mantis could visit, especially when he had dragged his brother into the control room and had gotten Loki to ask for him, it was hard enough to say no to them separately, but the two of them together giving her puppy dog eyes, then Loki's, please mum; Mystique had to yes, which shockingly got her a hug from Kurt. Which had her smiling when they left and Mystique disappointed in herself; she was supposed to be one of the earth's most dangerous mutants, and a few short years in space traveling with her children, and she was now soft. However, Mystique guessed she did owe Kurt something; after all, she had thrown the poor bastard off a cliff when he was just hours old, she would never be more thankful that her son survived.

Mystique sighed and sat down in the chair she just had her foot in; Loki and Kurt were both alive and well; that's more than she can say for her other son, Graydon Creed; a month after Enid and Thor returned to Asgard, Mystique got a call from an old friend, with the news that Graydon had been found dead in his home, remembering Magneto telling her someone put a hit out on him, Mystique had ordered this old friend to find out who that was, she had no idea if she was going to seek revenge herself since she was never close to Graydon. When she got the news of who it was two weeks later, Mystique knew there would be no revenge unless she wanted Loki to hate her again. Mystique had no idea Saphira even knew how to put a hit out on someone; it had to be her; who else would contact the assassin's guild of New Orleans using the name LeBeau? Remy wouldn't; he doesn't have anything to do with them since his marriage to Bella Donna ended; she doubted that Jean-Luc would, and Graydon had been behind Enid being stalked and attacked by Victor Creed. You don't mess with Saphira's sister because even in space, she'll find a way to make you pay. Mystique couldn't even see it in herself to be mad at her. It was something she would have done.

Mystique doesn't know if Saphira told Loki what she had done; Mystique doubted it and knew it was doubtful, Saphira told Remy, knowing how he felt about having anything to do with that guild. However, it was likely he knew if it got back to Jean-Luc, someone using the name LeBeau had ordered a hit out on Graydon Creed and had paid them a hefty amount of money to do it; a few days and one cry later, Mystique was over it, not like her and Graydon ever or would have ever been close. Mystique didn't mention it to Loki; however, she told Frigga, who seemed disappointed in Saphira's actions but not surprised. Frigga had written back to Mystique in that magical journal she gave her that both Loki and Saphira were good people; she didn't understand why they let certain things turn them into killers but sounded understanding; after all, Enid was Saphira's only sister.

Mystique sighed and looked into the mirror hanging on her wall; she saw a blue face and yellow eyes staring back at her; Mystique was once ashamed of her looks, during her marriage to Wagner, she spent her time as a shapely brunette with brown eyes when she was on Asgard, Mystique was a petite brunette with blue eyes when living on Jotunheim, her hair was black and eyes green, she's also been a blonde, with various eye colors. Mystique never made herself a redhead; nothing too close to her natural looks, she was no longer ashamed of being herself. Frigga has even told her she was beautiful; Magneto used to say that she shouldn't be ashamed of anything and be proud of who she was. They fought at times, but he helped her accept herself, and now Mystique was proud of her looks, proud of being a mutant, proud of her children, and proud of her grandson, that little boy was brilliant for his age, he'll only grow to be more intelligent, just like Loki.

Mystique turned from the mirror and looked down at her outfit; she was wearing black leather pants with a black leather top. Tall leather boots, with her white skull belt, and her skull headband pushing her hair out of her face, she agreed with Enid about one thing, long hair gets in the way. However, Enid didn't seem to be getting that haircut; she talked about any time soon, the last time Mystique saw her, which was when Thor, Enid, and Frigga came aboard their ship for Fenrir's first birthday, her hair was still long, pulled back in a braid going down her back, she wore Asgardain attire, which surprised Mystique, even when on Asgard, Enid usually choose to wear Midgardain clothes.

The sound of thumps and laughter interrupted Mystique's thoughts; she smiled, knowing it meant Fenrir was just right outside her bedroom door doing something; his parents no doubt not far behind, probably that stupid plant too, Mystique went over and opened the door, to see Saphira on the floor laughing, while Loki was picking up Fenrir who was in the middle of changing back from a wolf to human. Loki, too, was laughing as he picked up Fenrir's plush of Thor to hand to him.

"Are we no longer adults?" Mystique demanded, putting her hand on her hip, making Saphira laugh more.

"Sorry, I tripped," Saphira replied; Mystique rolled her eyes.

"So, we no longer know how to walk either." Mystique demanded. She was amused at the scene but, of course, had to put on a show of being annoyed.

"Dum Dum," Fenrir said, holding out the plush, then sticking it in his mouth and chewing on it like he did everything else. To Thor's displeasure and thanks to Saphira, Dum Dum is what Fenrir calls Thor, something Loki and Saphira found hilarious.

"Rosey tripped her," Loki said, nodding down to said plant, he sounded amused by it, and Mystique would like nothing more than to throw that damn thing out into space somewhere; it still sometimes freaked her the hell out. It had no eyes, ears, or anything but still somehow knew what was happening around her, who, and when someone talked to it. It followed Loki around, wrapping its vine around his leg, helping him do stuff, handed him stuff; it was creepy; the other plants on the ship creeped her out some too, but at least they were behind sheets of glass now.

"She didn't want me catching Fenny," Saphira said, "He turned into a wolf and ran from our bedroom; Rosey was trying to help him get away,"

"Daddy," Fenrir said, holding his plush up to show Loki, who smiled and turned him around to face him as he sat him on his hip; that's when Mystique noticed Loki wore a black suit, with a black silk shirt, black tie and vast with his hair laying neatly on his shoulders and curled out just a little bit, he looked nice. Though perhaps a little overdressed for just picking someone up, Mystique guessed he wanted to look important or intimidating.

"Thanks, baby," Saphira said when Loki reached his hand down to help her to her feet; Saphira was wearing her usual crop top and skinny jeans with holes in the knees, no shoes, but her hair fixed up and had on makeup and jewelry. Mystique will never understand Saphira's hatred of shoes.

"Mommy." Fenrir cried, reaching for her. Saphira grinned and took him; a couple of months ago, Fenrir skipped from learning to say, mama straight to mommy, then Loki became daddy, then he learned to say hi, bye, no, and at his birthday party, Thor became Dum Dum, and Fenrir became attached to him, mainly wanting Thor to hold him, climbing on Mjolnir when Thor had it sitting on the ground and when he had his cake he tried to share some with Thor, resulting in his golden locks half covered in chocolate, Thor had not been as amused as the rest of them.

Mystique left them to their playing around and headed into the kitchen for a quick breakfast before going to the control room, where Remy and Rogue should be. When Mystique entered the kitchen, Kurt was sitting at the table looking at his phone and drinking a cup of tea.

"Good morning, mother," Kurt said without looking up; he sounded cheerful, and in black jeans and a dark green sweater, Mystique was pretty sure belonged to Loki. Probably Saphira's doings, Kurt had gone to her a few days ago to ask what he should wear today; Saphira gave him a few tips while giving his hair a trim, Saphira told him to dress nicely, but not too fancy, the clothes he was wearing now showed he had listened to her advice, and more than likely Saphira picked them out for him.

"Morning." Mystique replied, walking over to the cabinet that had her snacks in it, and began to rummage around; most of her favorite snacks were gone; again, someone had been eating her stuff for months now. "Kurt, you wouldn't know where my food is disappearing, do you?"

"I think Loki is eating it, mother." Kurt lied smoothly, without missing a beat. Yeah, he's been around Loki too much.

"I beg your pardon?" Loki's voice asked from the doorway; Mystique turned that way with a smirk; for months now, Kurt has been blaming her missing food on Loki; he had gotten good at lying, but not good enough to fool Mystique, she's just always let it drop because she knew Loki would find out at some point.

Kurt had frozen at Loki's voice, then slowly looked up; his blue cheeks turned a little purple at the sight of Loki standing there with his hands on his hips; Saphira entered the kitchen and put Fenrir in his high chair. Kurt gave Loki a big grin and slowly stood.

"Good morning, brother," Kurt said, in a too cheery voice, "Beautiful day, isn't it?"

"I do not know," Loki replied, raising his eyebrow, "I have not had the pleasure of stepping off the craft into space yet."

"Right," Kurt replied, picking up his phone, his cheeks more purple." I probably should see how far we are to our destination." Kurt fled past Loki and out of the room; Loki turned back to Mystique, looking confused, as she started laughing.

"What was that about?" Loki demanded, pointing towards the door.

"For the past few months, Kurt has been eating my food and blaming you." Mystique answered Loki's eyebrows shot up, "That's not the only thing either; I'm sure he's the one that broke my tablet last week, but he said it was you."

"Why would he blame me?" Loki demanded.

"Oh my God." Saphira cried out laughing, "Don't you see what Kurt's doing, babe? He says it's you to get out of trouble because he knows Mystique won't say anything to you since she favors you. Same reason he has you ask Mystique for things he wants."

Loki looked towards Mystique, who shrugged; she couldn't deny it, and she probably shouldn't have favorites, but Loki was her favorite; everyone knew and didn't seem bothered by it. It even sounds like Kurt has been using that to his advantage.

"Well, that sneaky little son of a bitch." Loki grinned, sounding impressed; Mystique wondered if Loki realized that was more of an insult towards her than Kurt.

When they made it into the control room, Remy and Rogue were at the controls flying the ship. Kurt sat in one of the seats behind them, again on his phone; Loki went over to him and laid his hand on his shoulder; Kurt's face turned purple again, Loki leaned in to whisper to him, Mystique heard what he said anyway, thanks to her shapeshifting, she was able to enhance her hearing.

"I'm not mad." Loki told him, grinning, "Impressed actually, proud even." He squeezed Kurt's shoulder; he smiled at Loki's words and turned up to whisper something Mystique didn't know what because she decided to stop eavesdropping on the two brothers to give them their privacy. When Loki pulled away, he and Kurt were both smiling, and he reached out and messed up Kurt's hair; Loki laughed when Kurt swatted at him but missed, and when Loki sat in the set behind him, Kurt turned his set around so he could talk to him. Mystique watched as Loki started teaching Kurt a spell to make a rose appear; after a few tries, Kurt was able to do it.

"Wait until we get there and make the rose before Mantis." Loki said, "She'll love the gift and be impressed with the magic display."

"Okay," Kurt agreed, smiling, then kept doing the spell while Loki gave him pointers.

When they arrived at their destination, Remy and Rogue slowed the craft down as they approached the planet to lower it carefully, to land. When they parked the ship, Loki, Kurt, and Mystique stood; Loki leaned over and kissed Saphira, then they all headed out of the control room and down the corridor and to the door, where Loki opened it to let the ramp down. Mystique saw something crawl by her and looked to see it was Rosey. Rolling her eyes, Mystique followed behind her two sons.

"We are early, so we might have to wait for a few minutes," Kurt replied.

"That's fine," Loki replied, sticking his hands in his pockets.

"As long as they aren't late." Mystique replied. She still couldn't believe she had agreed to this; what if they didn't even show? Kurt would be heartbroken; he has spent the last few days clearing out a cabinet in his room so Mantis had a place to put her clothes, then with the help from Remy, rearranged some of the games in the game room so he could put up a cot for him to sleep in there, so Mantis could stay in his room, while she visits. He's even picked out movies Kurt believes Mantis would like and later tonight wants all of them to sit around the movie room watching movies and eating pizza.

As Mystique feared the Guardians of the Galaxy was late, so late Mystique had long decided they weren't coming and was about to tell them they should leave when Quil, Gamora, Mantis, and Groot showed up, walking towards them, Quil saw Loki standing next to Kurt and made a face.

"Great, he's here," Quil mumbled, apparently not realizing they could hear him from just a few feet away; Mystique looked towards Loki to see him cross his arms and narrow his eyes. He then paused and grabbed Gamora's arm, causing Mantis to stop to wait for them. Groot didn't stop, though, and instead ran to Rosey. "Why does he have to dress like that?"

"Who, Loki?" Gamora demanded in a loud whisper, "What's wrong with what he's wearing?" Mystique glanced at Loki again to see him looking down at his outfit.

"Look at him," Quil replied, "I feel like I should walk up to him and confess my sins."

Kurt was quick to turn his laugh into a cough as Loki glared at him; Mystique had to admit that was a little funny; Loki did look a little like a priest in his black get-up; the only thing missing was a white-collar. Maybe he should ask Kurt; he might still have his he can loan him; the thought made Mystique laugh; Loki and Kurt turned to look at her like she was crazy. She ignored them at watched as Gamora gave Quil a confessed look, obviously not understanding what he meant.

"What?" Gamora demanded. Mantis turned from them and started walking towards Kurt, shifting her bag on her shoulder, down by Loki's legs; Rosey had to begin twirling one of her vines, and Groot used it to jump rope.

"Hi," Mantis said, coming to a stop in front of Kurt and giving him a small smile. Mystique didn't trust Mantis; she didn't believe she was that naive and stupid; Mystique was sure she was putting on an act. If she were trying to fool them for any reason, Mantis would learn she messed with the wrong woman's son.

"I'm happy you could make it," Kurt replied; he held his arms out for a hug, Mantis smiled, set her bag down, and stepped into Kurt's arms; Mystique hated that they looked cute together when Kurt pulled away, he did that magic trick and made a blue rose appear and handed to Mantis, Mystique watched as her eyes widen and then a large smile formed on her face as she took the rose.

"Thank you," Mantis said; she then reached up and kissed Kurt's cheek, making him smile.

"Good evening, Mantis." Loki greeted her then he went to say something else, but Quil and Gamora made it up to them.

"We need to go over some rules here," Quil said, trying and failing at acting tough.

"I beg your pardon?" Loki demanded, putting his hands on his hips.

"Quil, " Gamora tried to warn, but he ignored her.

"No, Quil," Mantis spoke up. "Gamora said I'm an adult, and you can't tell me what to do or give me rules."

"I'm not talking about you," Quil explained. "I'm giving the blue dude here some rules." At his words, Kurt immediately reached out and grabbed Loki's arm as if to prevent him from doing anything.

"So, here are your rules," Quil said, looking as if he didn't know what rules to give, so switch to saying. "I'll warn you then, Mantis is our family; you do not hurt her in any way."

"I understand; you have concerns," Kurt replied, giving Mantis a reassuring smile, "But you have my word that I will not harm or take advantage of Mantis."

"Mantis is letting me hang on to her phone, Quil," Gamora said, "We have something she can contact us on if she needs us."

"We have no plan or reasons to do anything sinister to Mantis," Loki spoke up, "Why would we? We only hurt those who have hurt us, or maybe in our way of something we want."

"Brother, that doesn't exactly help," Kurt told him, letting go of his arm.

"Quil, the others are on the ship waiting; Rocket will be yelling if we take too long." Gamora reminded him.

"Okay, fine," Quil said, "But I still don't fully trust you, and I don't trust her." He pointed at Mystique.

"Look at her eyes. They scream untrustworthy, and I don't trust this guy." Quil pointed at Loki, who rolled his eyes, then smirked.

"Is that so?" Loki demanded, "A moment ago, you were ready to start confessing your sins." Quil's face turned a little pink.

"I don't like you," Quil replied. Loki snorted.

"How old are you, exactly?" Loki asked, "Because you're acting more childish than my one-year-old son."

"Alright, let's all just cool it," Gamora said, "I'm sure we all have better things to do than stand around bickering with each other."

"We do." Mystique replied.

"Okay, we'll go," Quil said. "Mantis, call your phone if you need anything or decide you want to come home right away."

"Have fun," Gamora told her. "And don't pay attention to anything Quil or Drax may have said."

"Don't have too much fun," Quil added.

"Quil," Gamora warned. "Come on, Groot."

"I am Groot," Groot said. He had been playing with Rosey the whole time. And didn't want to leave.

"Groot, come on," Quil said.

"I am Groot." Groot pouted but turned and hugged Rosey, and Mystique watched as Rosey tapped his head, then waved with a leaf, and Groot turned and ran over to Quil, who picked him up and put him on his shoulder, and he and Gamora finally left.

"Guess we better go too," Loki said.

"I'll carry your bag for you." Kurt offered Mantis; the latter smiled and let Kurt take her bag, put it on his back, then put his hand on her back and lead her towards their ship; Mystique and Loki followed behind them.

Saphira was standing at the top of the ramp holding Fenrir when they made it back; she waved when she saw them and got Fenrir to wave too; Mystique smiled a little; Fenrir was too cute and friendly, and such a happy baby. Saphira stepped aside to allow Mantis on.

"Welcome aboard, Mantis," Saphira told her; Mantis stood and waited on Kurt, then when Loki stepped up to Saphira, he paused and grinned when Saphira stepped in front of him. "We missed you."

Mystique rolled her eyes when Loki answered he had missed them too, then led in and started kissing her, then annoyed when they kept kissing.

"Give me my grandson." Mystique demanded, walking up and taking Fenrir out of Saphira's arms. "He does not need to witness you eating each other's faces."

Mystique turned and walked off, taking Fenrir with her; she heard Saphira mumble something about her being grouchy. Mystique carried Fenrir into the control room, where Rogue and Remy still were when Mystique opened the door and walked. Rogue was sitting in Remy's lap, making out with him.

"Oh, for god's sake, is that all any of you know how to do?" Mystique demanded; Rogue pulled away from Remy and stood. Mystique wasn't too bothered; even if she acted like she was, Rogue and Remy didn't display their affection for each other in front of people often, unlike Saphira and Loki, who felt the need to drop everything and start kissing no matter where they were, what they were doing or who was around.

"So, are we to ready go?" Rogue asked, straightening her top.

"Yeah, here, take your nephew back to his parents." Mystique replied, handing Fenrir to Rogue, "I'll get us in the air and make sure your brother and his wife aren't still hanging out the door locked to each other's lips."

"Yes, momma," Rogue said, trying not to laugh; she no doubt was not surprised to hear of what her brother and sister-in-law were doing; Rogue loved teasing Loki over it or anything else she could think of. Loki surprisingly didn't seem to mind teasing from his little sister and always just teased her back.

"Mystique," Remy said; all he had to do was speak her name to make her groan as Mystique sat down in the pilot seat; he had pulled out those annoying cards and was playing with them. "Do you know what would get you out of this grumpy mood you're always in?"

"I swear, Gambit, if you say what I think you're going to say, the dagger in my boot will find its' way into your throat," Mystique warned. Remy just raised his eyebrow, played with his cards, then laughed.

"Like mother, like son, no?" Remy replied, smirking, and Mystique wanted to knock those stupid cards out of his hands but figured it would mean him being in here longer because he would have to take the time to pick up the cards.

"Remy, come on, before mom murders you," Rogue replied. She grabbed Remy's arm and pulled him along.

The moment the door closed behind them, Mystique reached in her left boot and pulled out her journal Frigga had given her; it was brown leather with runes carved in the front; when Mystique opened it, there were pages of conversations she and Frigga have had with each other, that only Mystique's eyes could see, anyone else looks at the pages they would see nothing but blank paper, it's all apart of the magic, it was a way her and Frigga could stay in contact, another part of the book's magic was that it would never run out of pages or room to write. Smiling, Mystique got her magical pen that went with the journal and opened it and started writing in it; Mystique waited a couple of minutes, and she had an answer, laughing at what Frigga said; Mystique began to write back.

Later that night, Mystique put the craft on autopilot and joined everyone in the movie room; when she entered the room, Loki and Saphira were sitting close to each other on the sofa facing the door; Loki had a plate that had two slices of supreme pizza, and a Saphira was eating pizza that weirdly only had sauce, tomatoes, and peppers, Kurt and Mantis were next to them, both had pepperoni pizza, Rogue and Remy were eating the same kind, and sitting on the other sofa, Fenrir was in sitting in the floor playing with Rosey, they were hitting a ball back and forth. Mystique headed over and grabbed a couple of pieces of supreme and headed over and sat next to Rogue when Kurt saw her; he smiled, happy she decided to join them. He could think Frigga for that; she's the one to convince Mystique she should join them. They turned on the movie and watched as they ate their food; all through the film, Mantis kept asking Kurt things, and he would answer quietly at one time; Mystique looked over at them and saw Kurt and Mantis holding hands.

Mystique got back to the movie when it went off; they put in another one, some romantic comedy; after a while, they all just started talking and telling stories. Then the topic of past relationships came up, and Mystique learned Remy LeBeau was a bit of a slut, going by all the women he's been with, and she had a feeling he left out those that were just hookups. Rogue didn't even have nearly half as many boyfriends as Remy did girlfriends, which did not bother her, Mystique guessed because they were married now, legally making Remy hers. Mystique did make a face when she brought up a brief relationship that Mystique had blocked from her memory. And going by the look on Remy's face, he didn't like remembering it either.

"Erik Lehnsherr?" Saphira demanded, staring at Rogue. "Are you serious?"

"It was very short, more of a fling," Rogue answered.

"But, wasn't he a bit old for you?" Saphira demanded, "He's like Mystique's age or something?"

"No, Lehnsherr is much older than he looks; many mutants are, but he is nowhere near my age." Mystique replied, "He was still too old for Rogue, though."

"Momma." Rogue snapped, "You're one to talk; you've been with people you would be too old for."

"That's different ." Mystique answered, standing and walking over to get another slice of pizza.

"Maybe I should take a trip down to Midgard," Loki said, scowling, " First my sister-in-law and now my sister, think Lehnsherr and I need to talk."

"I'll join you," Remy replied; "I still owe him a punch."

"Me too," Kurt added.

"You three will do no such thing," Rogue said as Mystique sat back down. "And you have no room to talk, Kurt; what about Amanda Sefton?"

"Who?" Loki asked; Mystique glanced at Mantis to see her looking at Kurt.

"Amanda Sefton, her real name is Jimaine Szardos; she's the daughter of the women who raised him," Rogue explained, "They had a secret affair when in the circus together; years later, they got back together when she showed up, called herself Amanda Sefton."

"Well, Kurt, I believe you've never told me about her," Loki replied, "I've heard about all the others, even the girl from the Shi'ar Empire, but nothing about any Amanda Jimaine or whatever."

"I still consider Jimaine a friend," Kurt replied; Loki frowned but didn't press him. Mystique figured Kurt was uncomfortable talking about past love interests before Mantis, who wasn't looking very happy about the topic.

"Jimaine was the daughter of your adopted mom?" Saphira asked, frowning.

"We never saw each other as brother or sister," Kurt replied, "I wasn't legally adopted."

"Yeah, but still, she was kind of your sister," Saphira said, "No offense, Kurty, but that's gross; it would be like Loki hooking up with Thor."

Loki, who had been taking a drink of champagne, spit it out and started choking; Saphira turned to him, concerned, and patted him on the back—asking him if he was okay. He got himself under control and nodded as he coughed a little.

"Bloody hell," Loki said, making a face. "Why would you say something like that? I think I'm going to be ill."

"Sorry," Saphira giggled as she snuggled into Loki.

"I always knew she was not my sister," Kurt explained, "Loki grew up thinking Thor was his real brother, so there is a difference."

"So, who's this girl from the Shi'ar Empire?" Saphira asked, curious.

"Her name is Cerise; she arrived on Earth in trouble. I helped her out; we fell for each other, but it didn't work out; I wanted different things at the time." Kurt said.

"He dumped her to become a priest," Remy replied; Kurt glared at him.

"You were a priest?" Saphira demanded.

"For a short time," Kurt replied.

"Ohh, we have something else in common then; I was in this movie once that had a priest character," Saphira told him.

"How is that the same thing?" Mystique demanded.

"It's close enough," Saphira replied; Mystique rolled her eyes.

"You all have had other relationships before being with who you're now," Mantis said, "And Quil has been with many women before Gamora. Does this mean Kurt and I won't last?"

"Most likely." Mystique answered. Mantis pouted, looking upset.

"Mother." Kurt snapped, "Don't listen to her, Manny; she doesn't know that." Mystique raised her eyebrow, not knowing Kurt already had a nickname for Mantis.

"Hey, Mantis, " Saphira said, "It doesn't mean that; Loki and I have only ever been with each other; it's rare, but couples do sometimes only have the one relationship, and you and Kurt are adorable, I think you'll be together for a long time."

"Thank you." Mantis replied.

"I can not believe Quil could get one woman little long many," Loki replied.

"Same here, mon ami," Remy replied.

"Fenny, no." Saphira suddenly cried out; she rushed forward and got on the floor where Fenrir was now chewing on one of Rosey's leaves while she was swinging her vines around and trying to get away. "No chewing on Rosey."

"Mommy," Fenrir said, crying a little, and Saphira pulled him to her.

"It's okay, Fenny, don't cry, sweetie," Saphira said; Rosey, having recovered from being chewed, swung one of her vines at Fenrir like she was trying to hit him, Saphira moved to where the vine hit her instead.

"Hey," Loki said, standing, "Stop that."

"You don't hit Fenny; he's a baby." Saphira snapped at her, standing; Rosey backed up and crawled over to the counter. Fenrir was still whining a little as he rubbed his eyes.

"Darling?" Loki asked, putting an arm around her shoulders. "It's pretty late; maybe we should take Fenrir to bed."

"Yeah, he does look sleepy," Saphira said. "Come on, Fen Fen, bedtime." She turned back to them. "Goodnight, everyone."

Everyone said good night to them, and Saphira and Loki left the room with Fenrir, not long after everyone else called it a night, and Mystique went to her room, got out her journal, and started writing to Frigga, who amazingly wasn't asleep and started writing back, she had good advice when Mystique wasn't sure about what to do, she kept telling Mystique to give Mantis a chance. Then Mystique decided to ask details about Saphira and Loki's relationship; she wanted to know if Saphira was telling the truth; that she and Loki had only been with each other, Frigga was happy to tell her the story of when Saphira and Loki met, grew up together, first fell in love, all the way until they reunited after being apart for a century. Then Frigga, for some reason, decided to tell her a story that Saphira didn't know and made Mystique swear not to tell anyone; Frigga started telling her the story.

Loki had very briefly courted one other girl before him, and Saphira became a couple; her name was Sigyn, there was just one official date that didn't lead to anything because Loki decided he only wanted Saphira, then after learning Loki had gone out with someone, Saphira had confessed her feelings to him, they became a couple, but the other girl didn't take Loki's rejection seriously and believed she and Loki was a couple, she became obsessed with him, she didn't think Loki was telling the truth when he told her he was with someone else because of keeping it a secret, he couldn't tell her who, so to avoid her, Loki started magically concealing himself or shifting his looks whenever he saw her, until one day Saphira found out and beat her up, Sigyn stopped coming around then, and Loki didn't have to hide anymore, he had yet to develop the vicious side he now has, he was still relatively young for a half Jotunn, and was too much of a gentleman to do anything other to ask her to leave him alone. Loki and Saphira spending so much time hideaway to spend time together helped in avoiding her, but Saphira was not always around.

Then when Bard started locking up Saphira, Sigyn started hanging around again. Still, Loki was spending his time sneaking Saphira out of her house and into his chambers and hanging out with Saphira in them, so it was easy to avoid her. Sigyn stopped coming around the palace because Loki wasn't around, then Saphira had to leave Asgard. Loki was out and about again. Sigyn started harassing Loki again, so much so Frigga stepped in and spoke to her parents; her family decided best to take Sigyn off-word to get her away from Loki. They had been starting to show his vicious side since losing Saphira, and if she hadn't stopped bothering him, he might have killed her.

Loki and Saphira never talked about this, mentioned, or even thought about it; they pretend Sigyn didn't exist, especially Loki, who had been harassed endlessly by her. Mystique was shocked and a little angered by this news; if she had been there, then Sigyn would be dead right now. It now makes sense to Mystique why Loki called Enid after hearing about what happened to her and still calls and checks on her; he knew how it felt to be stalked and harassed. Mystique briefly wondered where this Sigyn was before deciding it didn't matter. Mystique agreed she wouldn't mention any of this to anyone and wondered briefly what other things Loki and Saphira have never said; there was probably a lot, they've lived a long time.

Mystique only talked to Frigga a little longer, then put the journal down and snuggled into her blanket, and thought about her life now, her relationship with her children, her grandson, her friendship with Frigga, and Mystique fell asleep thinking about how she was happier now than she has ever been.

AN Yes, there is the reason for some things in this chapter mentioned; it's a part of a plot that popped in my head. It'll be short, and hopefully, I get my idea written right, then a time jump. I know in Norse Mythology and in the comics, Sigyn is Loki's wife; I would use someone else, then I thought of her and decided to use her.
