AN: Not Much to write, except a warning for a scene at the end that is a little gruesome. And I had a lot I trouble getting this chapter done, so hopefully, it's good.
Disclaimer I don't own anything.
Chapter 71: Everything Happens For A Reason.
Saphira carefully climbed back in bed and slowly laid down on her back next to a sleeping Loki; she had just snuck out and put Mischief and Rosey onto one of Asgard's spaceships, then carefully stole Oliver and Lucifer from Remy and Rogue's room, somehow doing it without waking them up and put them on to the same craft so that they would be safe. So they wouldn't have to worry about them when fleeing Asgard sometime tomorrow; the Phoenix has been talking to Saphira in her head, explaining what she needed to do. It was now time to start their plan. However, The Phoenix refused to detail what would happen tomorrow tonight, only there would be an attack, and Asgard will get destroyed. Good thing Odin allowed Thor to have spaceships built for emergencies; he thought about it after he and Enid had to flee Midgard; if everyone had to escape Asgard at once, it would take too long for everyone to use the Bifrost to get out in time. The ship where Saphira put Rosey and the cats were the ones Pheonix said Mystique and Frigga escaped with Fenrir on.
Saphira took a deep breath and thought about tomorrow when her sister would become Queen of Asgard; she wouldn't doubt it if Enid was lying awake worrying over it; she was happy for her. Enid would make a good queen; she's intelligent, fair, and kind. Saphira remembers how it was when she temporary ruled Asgard with Loki, it was hard work, but Enid could do it; Thor, on the other hand, well, it's a good thing he'll have Enid helping; she'll probably be the one running Asgard, Thor would be the one leading battles and stuff like that. It's just too bad the Asgard they'll be ruling might be a different one. But they could make it work.
That wasn't the only thing happening tomorrow; it was the start of everything that was going to happen; at some point, everyone would be fleeing Asgard, then, while on their ship, Thanos would show up; Saphira didn't know when or how long they would have been traveling space since leaving Asgard, but sometime after Fenrir turns three she'll be dead. Earth's heroes will be fighting a battle they'll lose, and unfortunately, Saphira will be helping Thanos win, unwilling, but it was necessary, and the quilt was nearly eating her alive; she was betraying everyone she holds dear and allowing the one who put her husband through hell to win, Saphira couldn't even count the times she almost talked herself out of doing it. Still, Phoenix said it was the only way to save Loki and for them to beat Thanos once and for all in the end, even if that wasn't going to be for a long while.
Saphira would start putting her plan in place after the coronation; she'll make sure Remy, Rogue, Mystique, and Fenrir all got on separate crafts, feed them a line about how they would be protecting the people on the ship or something, Frigga and Mystique are supposed to flee with Fenrir on a different one. Saphira will make sure Kurt escapes when Thanos shows up with Enid instead of her and have to make specific Vision was on their craft with them so that Thanos can get the mind stone; Saphira had to keep telling herself that Vision was just a robot, try to convince herself he had no feelings he was a machine he couldn't feel pain, it helped a little, she wished she had a way to help with the rest of the guilt.
Saphira rolled over on her side and reached over to the bedside table, and picked up her phone; the phone had been bought and reprogramed by Enid; her sister was so intelligent that she was able to add things no other phones could do, like making a text message and sitting it for a particular day to be delivered and not having to send it right away, and that's what Saphira did, she made a text message warning Steve Rogers of Midgard going to be attacked and set it to deliver on the thirteen. Hopefully, he reads it and takes action to put up a fight; Midgard won't get taken by surprise, and maybe fewer people will die before Thano's snap.
"Darling, " Loki said, rolling over to face her; he put his arm around her waist and pulled her close to him. "If you can not sleep, I know much better activities we can do than playing on this." He snatched her phone away.
"Hey, " Saphira cried, rolling over on her back. "I thought you were asleep."
"I was for a bit; you sure wore me out tonight." Loki teased as he leaned in to kiss her.
"And after fooling around twice already, you still want to," Saphira said, reaching up and pushing his hair behind his ear.
"Well, I have my energy back; what better way to wear me out again?" Loki asked, leaning in to kiss her again. When he pulled back, he smiled down at Saphira, laid a hand on her cheek, and ran his thumb across her jawline.
"I swear that's all you think about." Saphira laughed.
"I seem to remember it was you starting a lot of it earlier," Loki said, which was true. Saphira wanted to be with Loki one last time before she was gone, which was why she had asked Frigga to take Fenrir for the night; Saphira would spend time with him all day tomorrow, but tonight Saphira had wanted alone time with Loki; she wanted to show him how much he meant to her.
"I love you more than anything, baby," Saphira said to Loki, "Please don't ever forget that."
"Of course, I won't, darling," Loki replied, "How could I? When you'll be right here reminding me every day." He leaned in to kiss down her neck, and Saphira was glad he wasn't looking right at her; she was sure the quilt would have shown on her face.
"Loki," Saphira said, putting her hand on his. "Tell me you love me." Loki pulled away from her neck and looked down at her, then smiled.
"I love you, darling; you know that without me telling you," Loki said.
"I know; I love hearing you say it," Saphira told him, then put his hand to her lips and kissed his palm.
"And I love saying it." Loki replied, "Now I thought there was something we were supposed to be doing, and it didn't involve talking."
Saphira laughed and reached up and kissed Loki so passionately it took him by surprise, and Saphira was able to push Loki on his back and get on top of him. He laughed as Saphira leaned down to kiss him.
The following day everyone noticed that Saphira was suddenly in a good mood, opposite of what she's been in lately, and knowing Frigga kept Fenrir the night before; they decided to not comment on it for fear Saphira would decide they needed to hear details on why she was in such a cheerful mood, and instead enjoy the fact she wasn't crabby or depressed, and secretly vowed to offer to watch Fenrir more often for them. They all hung out all day, from breakfast until they separated to get dressed for the coronation; Saphira had taken Fenrir back from Frigga first thing and kept him with her all day, knowing she didn't have much time left with her son. She wasn't going to waste it if she could. She also wanted time with her sister, so once she and her favorite two guys were ready, Saphira got Loki to agree to go to Enid and Thor's room and walk to the throne room.
"Come in," Enid called out when Saphira knocked on their door; she would have just walked in without knocking but didn't want to risk seeing Thor without clothes on.
"Hey, guys," Saphira said after opening the door and walking in; Enid was helping Thor put on his breastplate, and Saphira almost paused. Enid was wearing the same fancy dress when Pheonix took Saphira to watch the future.
"Well, this is disappointing; Thor learned to shower by himself but still can't dress." Loki joked. "Do not worry, brother. I'm sure you tried your best."
"Shut up, Loki." Thor snapped. Loki only laughed, aggravating Thor would never get old. The cat-like creature Saphira had created and Thor named Tempest was now the size of a bobcat and sitting at Thor's side; Hearing the annoyed tone in her master's voice, she looked at Loki and hissed, showing large pointy teeth, only stopping when Thor reached down and scratched between her horns.
"Sissy, you look gorgeous," Saphira said. "I love the dress."
"Thanks, you look gorgeous too," Enid replied; her dress was beautiful, red, with gold designs on top and long cape sleeves; her hair was partly pulled back in a braid and partially hanging down, her diamond tiara set on her head.
"Of course I do," Saphira replied, and Enid shook her head in amusement; Saphira was in a light blue dress that had long sleeves that came off her shoulders, with a strap that was tied around it a couple of times and hung down the front, with silver designs on it, her hair was hanging down, being pushed back by a headband with diamonds in it, she wore no shoes.
"Do not look at me, Thor," Loki joked as he raised his hands, "I am not saying you look gorgeous."
"Funny," Thor replied, rolling his eyes.
"Is there something you two wanted or?" Enid asked; she got done putting Thor's breastplate on and picked up his cape to put it on him.
"We came to walk with you guys down to the throne room," Saphira said.
"But we see now; you are still dressing Thor," Loki replied with a grin.
"Enid is not dressing me; she's only helping," Thor said, "You can not tell me Saphira didn't have to help you into that outfit."
Loki looked down at his outfit. It was a new version of the one he made while in the dungeons; a more dresser-looking one had more green and gold than black, though he had no idea what Thor was going on about, not a thing about this attire suggested he had to have help to get dressed. If so, he would have used magic to make it appear on him.
"No, brother, unlike you, my wife does not have to dress me," Loki replied.
"I do help him undress sometimes," Saphira replied. "A few of those times was last night."
"Saphira, " Enid cried, making a face. "No, just...hush."
"There is a child in the room." Thor reminded her.
"Fenny doesn't know what I mean," Saphira said.
"Alright, we are ready; let's go, you two out," Enid said.
Enid showed the two of them out as Thor grabbed his helmet and followed them, Tempest by his side; they talked and teased each other the whole way to the throne room, where Thor and Enid stopped outside the doors; Loki and Saphira wished them good luck before taking their places on the steps leading up to the throne. Enid and Thor must have decided to stop and have a conversation before entering because they had to wait for five minutes before Thor and Enid appeared; the crowd immediately cheered as they walked up to the platform. Odin and Frigga stood when they reached it both, kneeled, Enid in front of Frigga, Thor in front of Odin, who stepped forward and tapped the ground with the bottom of Gungnir, and everyone got quiet at once.
"I have defended Asgard and the lives of the innocent across the nine realms; for many a minimum, it is time to pass those responsibilities to someone else; we have been here before, but due to specific events, a new King was not crowned."
At Odin's words, the Asgardians turned to look at Loki, who smiled and waved. And a mumble broke out amongst the crowd. Loki looked at Saphira and winked; she smiled at him, and Fenrir wiggled out of Saphira's arms and ran over to Loki, wanting his daddy to hold him as Odin began to speak again.
"Unlike last time, this is not a temporary thing." Odin went on; everyone turned back to him. "I am passing the throne down to my firstborn, and he will rule for many years to come. " Odin turned to Thor. "Are you ready, my son, to take your place on the throne?"
"I am ready, Father," Thor said.
"In the time of great beginnings. And though the day has come for a new King, Do you, Thor Odinson, my firstborn, swear to guard the nine realms?" Odin asked.
"I swear," Thor replied.
"Do you swear to preserve the peace?" Odin asked.
"I swear," Thor answered.
"Do you swear to cast aside all selfish ambition and to pledge yourself only to the good of the realms?" Odin demanded.
"I swear," Thor answered.
"Then, on this day, I Odin Allfather, will proclaim you King of Asgard and protector of the Nine Realms," Odin said. "Raise my son, and take your throne."
Thor stood and, with Tempest following, walked up to the throne, winked at Enid before taking his seat, Tempest sat on the floor at the left of the throne, and everyone cheered when they stopped. Odin stepped back as Frigga stepped forward.
"We have a new King; now let this day also give us a new Queen." Frigga began, "Enid, are you ready to take your place by the King's side."
"I am ready," Enid said.
"Then Enid, do you swear to help those in need and be a kind and fair Queen?"
"I swear," Enid replied.
"Do you swear to stand by your King, by doing which you will be standing by Asgard and the nine realms he protects?" Frigga asked
"I swear," Enid answered.
"Do you swear to throw away any selfish needs or ambition for the good of the realms?" Frigga asked.
"I swear," Enid replied.
"Do you swear if it is ever needed, you'll stand-in for your King, as ruler and protector of the nine realms?"
"I swear," Enid replied.
"Then I, Frigga the Allmother, do now proclaim you Queen," Frigga replied; "Now rise, my Queen, take your place by your King."
Thor grinned as Enid stood and walked up the platform towards him; when she stood by his right side, Thor reached up and took her hand. When she looked down at him, Thor smiled; everyone was cheering and clapping for them, then Odin held up his hand to quiet everyone down.
"Now, if you will all go out into the grand hall, we can celebrate," Odin said; there were more cheers as almost everyone headed out of the room, heading for the celebration. Thor took Fenrir from Loki and put him on his shoulders.
"Another!" Volstagg shouted, slamming his cup onto the floor. An hour into the celebration, Saphira and Loki sat a few chairs down from him at the end of the table, Thor as King now sat at the head, Enid to his right, and the rest of their family was sitting sound them, Odin sat at the other end talking to some older guards that were retired now.
"He, Dum Dum," Fenrir said, pointing at Volstagg. He was sitting at the table between Loki and Saphira.
"Yeah, he's a dum dum," Loki replied, laughing while drinking his wine.
"You shouldn't allow him to talk about others like that," Enid said.
"Aww, but Fenny doesn't know what he's saying," Saphira answered.
"That's why you need to teach him." Enid put in.
"Hey, brother, " Kurt said as he sat on Loki's other side, "Why did everyone look at you when Odin mentioned Thor's first coronation wasn't successful? "
"Have I never told you about that?" Loki asked; Kurt shook his head. "Well, here's a short version; I let Frost Giants into Asgard, who tried to steal The Casket of Winter from Odin's vault, and it put a stop to Thor becoming King."
"Why would you do that?" Rogue demanded.
"Thor was not ready; the realms would have been doomed," Loki replied.
"You exaggerate, brother, " Thor spoke up as he tossed food down to Tempest. "Yes, I was a little hot-headed then, and perhaps I was not ready, but the realms would not have been doomed."
"Well, we'll never know that, will we?" Loki asked, smirking, "Seeing as you went and attacked the Jotuun and got yourself banished, and when Odin took his long nap, I had to take up the burden of the throne."
"I only went to Jotunheim because I let you get into my head and trick me into going," Thor said, "It is your felt I got banished."
"I can not help it that you're easy to manipulate, bother," Loki replied. "Besides, you owe me some graduate; if it had not been for me getting you banished, you would have never found Enid again." Thor looked over at Enid; she smiled at him.
"You are right, brother," Thor announced, turning back to him, "I owe you, my graduate, and I thank you for reuniting me with my beloved."
Mystique snorted, "You're way too gullible for a King."
"Yucky," Fenrir said, tossing a piece of bread he had just stolen from Loki's plate and taking a bit of it; it landed in Frigga's lap.
"Fenrir, you do not throw food," Loki told him. "Especially when it will hit your grandmother."
"I'm so sorry," Saphira said as Frigga picked up the bread and tossed it to Tempest. "For some reason, Fenny is in this mood where he thinks almost everything is yucky, the color yellow, people kissing, most foods, Loki naked."
"Darling, you could have left the last one out," Loki said as the others laughed at him.
"I agree with Fenrir on that last one," Enid said, which started them all laughing again.
"Hey!" Saphira cried, "I bet Loki looks better than Thor naked."
"I doubt that, Sister," Enid argued.
"Girls, that's not an appropriate conversation," Frigga said.
"And a bit gross," Rogue said.
"Rogue is right; Remy is trying to eat here," Remy said.
As the time passed, everyone around them but the family got up and started walking around the room and chatting with each other; Saphira began to check her phone; she had to keep an eye on the time, and once the phone said it was ten o'clock, she stood.
"Baby, would you keep an eye on Fenrir? I'll be right back." Saphira said.
"Of course, my love," Loki answered; Saphira bent down and kissed him before leaving the room. Once out in the hall, Saphira leaned against the wall and took a few deep breaths, trying not to have a panic attack; she didn't want to do this; she had no choice. Phoenix told her she had to do it for their plan to work.
"Sister?" Saphira jumped at Enid's voice, then turned to her and forced a smile.
"Sissy, " Saphira said, "I'll be right back." Saphira turned and went to walk away.
"Not so fast," Enid said; Saphira stopped and turned around with a groan. "You are up to something."
"What? Of course not." Saphira denied. Enid put her hands on her hips.
"Saphira, something is going on with you, don't try to act like it's nothing; I know you, perhaps better than anyone, except for Loki, and I know you are not acting like you."
"Enid, please, trust me," Saphira said, "Everything will be fine."
"Saphira," Enid was cut off when Saphira took a step forward and hugged her, causing Enid to go quiet.
"I owe you both a thank you and an apology, " Saphira said.
"For what?" Enid asked, confused.
"The apology is for all the shit I've put you through," Saphira said, pulling away and taking Enid's hands, "You have always been there to watch over me, clean up the messes I've made, and all I did was fight with you, and treat you poorly, and through all that you never gave up on me, or stopped caring about me, for that I thank you, and I'm sorry."
"Saphira, you are frightening me," Enid said; Saphira let go of her hands and gave her a second hug.
"I don't mean to; I only wanted you to know I appreciate you." Saphira said, "And do not worry about what I am doing or what will happen. " She pulled away, "Go back to your celebration, have fun; remember these words. Live in the present, Remember the past, and fear not the future, for it doesn't exist and never shall; there is only now."
"Saphira."
"Go back to your party, sister, go back to your husband, have fun; I'll be back," Saphira said, "And make sure Loki doesn't let Fen get into too much mischief while I'm gone."
Saphira turned and started walking down the hall, ignoring Enid calling out to her. The moment she turned down the corridor to her and Loki's chambers, she went in and locked the door, then Opened the wall to the secret passways and went straight to Odin's vault; the moment Saphira entered the area, the tesseract used to sit she saw a young boy, with white-blonde hair kicking stuff in angry. She walked up to a pillar, leaned on her side against it, crossed her arms, and watched him a moment before letting him know she was there.
"You must be Hakon," Saphira said; she had to give it to him; he didn't jump in surprise though he did spin around fast, black magic coming from his hands. He narrowed violet eyes at her.
"Saphira?" Hakon asked, "You look like Mother," Saphira straightened up and walked towards him; she was a good foot taller than he was.
"Maybe a younger, much prettier version," Saphira remarked.
"You are pathetic like Father has always said you were." Hakon said, "Speaking of pathetic, where is that freak of yours?"
"The way I'm feeling right now, the last thing you want to do is talk down about my husband," Saphira warned.
"Please, you do not scare me," Hakon said, "I should kill you now."
"Go ahead, little bother, then you won't get what you are here for," Saphira told him; she held out her hand, and the tesseract appeared, "Go on, take it."
"I will not fall for your trick," Hakon demanded, his eyes on the cube and not Saphira; if he didn't go back to Thanos with it, he'd kill him.
"No trick; I have a plan to take out Thanos once and forever; it involves him getting this," Saphira told him, "So, go ahead, take it."
"What? You think you will lure Thanos into a trap than kill him." Hakon demanded.
"Something like that," Saphira said as she handed Hakon the tesseract. He frowned at it, and Saphira turned and started walking away.
"Even if Thanos does fall for your trap, he will kill you," Hakon said; Saphira stopped and turned around.
", You just run along and make sure he gets that cube before I change my mind and take it back," Saphira said.
"I should kill you, you stupid bitch." Hakon shouted at her.
"Go ahead; that cube will disappear if you hurt me; I put a spell on it," Saphira lied, "I don't think Thanos will be happy if you show up without it, now go run along to your boss before I change my mind about letting you go."
Saphira turned around, and this time, Hakon said nothing as she headed out the door; the moment she stepped out into the corridor, she heard screams, along with sounds of battle coming from the grand hall.
"Fenrir, " Saphira whispered and took off running towards the hall; she knew Loki and the others could take care of themselves in a fight and protect Fenrir, but that didn't stop Saphira from worrying as she ran down the corridor; when she turned a corner someone suddenly came out of nowhere and tackled her to the ground, knocking her breath out when Saphira looked up, she was not at all surprised to see her former father standing above her.
"Loki is not here, so I get to finish what I started the last time I was here," Bard said.
"Fuck you," Saphira yelled, kicking her leg out and getting Bard in the gut; he stumbled back, giving Saphira a chance to stand up and come at Bard with a couple of punches; he ducked the third punch she swung at him and came back and punched Saphira in the face, and she fell to the floor, Bard grabbed her by the hair and tossed her into a table sitting against the wall that had a large vase on it, Saphira slid off and on to the floor when he came towards her, Saphira called up a fireball and tossed it at him, Bard ducked, and it hit the gold wall and went out leaving a black mark.
"You tried to burn me," Bard called out, "You'll regret that," Bard grabbed Saphira's hair again to pull her up when Saphira brought her elbow back and got him in his nose, then did it again before grabbing his leg and pulling it out from under him, causing Bard to fall on his back, they both jumped up and faced each other.
"Why?" Saphira demanded, "Why did you always hate me? It can't all be about Loki. " Bard stepped forward, getting into Saphira's face.
"You were never worthy enough to be my child," Bard replied, "I knew that from the moment you were born, I never considered you mine."
Saphira growled in anger and shoved Bard away from her. "You asshole!"
Bard came at her, and Saphira grabbed his am and flipped him over her shoulder, but as she did so, Bard grabbed her arm, and she went with him, and as Bard slammed down on the ground, Saphira flew over him, and she too slammed onto the floor.
"Get up, " Bard demanded, pulling the sword out of the sheath on his back, "Fight me popularly so I can kill you, then kill that thing you call a son."
"You will regret saying that," Saphira shouted, jumping up; she made her sword appear in her hand, then, without worrying, came at Bard, who blocked it, and came back at Saphira, who ducked and swung at Bard and cut his face; Bard turned at Saphira, who dodged out of the way, then tried to slice Bard on the legs, he moved back and came down with his sword. Saphira rolled out of the way and got to her feet, Bard came at her, and she stopped his sword with hers; back and forth they went, and both were blocking each other's sword, or dodging or moving out of the way, Saphira could tell Bard was getting frustrated, and surprised by her skills. Since he never thought much of her.
Saphira blocked another blow from Bard; he snarled in anger and pushed forward; Saphira stumbled back and dropped her sword, but when Bard came down with his sword, Saphira had two of Loki's daggers appear in her hands and blocked Bard's sword, she stood up while pushing him back, she made the daggers disappear, and instead a bo-staff appeared in her hands. She knocked Bard forward and came at him swinging the staff, knocked his sword away, hit him on both sides, then swept his feet out from under him and pointed down at him with the end of the staff.
"If anyone is killing anyone, it'll be me killing you," Saphira told him. Bard grabbed the end and pushed back, causing Saphira to fall on her bottom, dropping the staff; Bard bent down, reaching for her, Saphira kneed him in the chin; he stumbled back and turned to spite out a couple of teeth; Saphira untied the strap around her dress, jumped up, wrapped it around Bard's neck, got on his back and pulled his head back, choking him, unfortunately, he was still able to bring his arm up grabbed her head and flipped her over his back and right into a display case that had a large gold shield that once belonged to Odin's father, Saphira smash into the glass doors, the sound of glass shattering echoed loudly down the empty corridor, Saphira fell to the floor, as Bor's shield fell out and slammed on to her, she moaned in pain, as she tried to push the heavy thing off her.
"Enough games; I'm ending this now," Bard said, picking up his sword and coming at and raising it above his head.
"No!" Enid was suddenly there, standing between Saphira and Bard, facing him and holding her hands out, blocking Saphira from his sword.
"Move," Bard ordered.
"Father, please," Enid said, "She's your daughter."
"No, she is not," Bard said, "I do not claim her; she never belonged to me."
"How can you be so cruel to anyone, especially your blood," Enid demanded. Behind her, Saphira had gotten the shield off; they didn't notice Saphira crawling over to the side slowly.
"I have no beef with you at the moment, Enid," Bard warned, "You can step aside and allow me to finish her off, or you can try to stop me, but know this if you side with her, you will no longer be my daughter, and I will kill you to get to her if I have to. "
"I stopped being your daughter when you started locking up my sister," Enid told him. Saphira paused to pick up her sword and looked at Enid in surprise.
"She has brainwashed you against me." Bard said, "You have forgotten everything I taught you; you know better than to back talk me."
"I am the Queen of Asgard." Enid said, "I will back talk who I want, this is my realm, and you need to leave it now before I have you thrown in the dungeons, and you can see what it feels like to be locked up."
Bard laughed. "So, I guess this is you siding with her?"
"I was not there for Saphira when you started being so cruel to her; I was blinded by the love a daughter has for her father to see what a monster you are, too wrapped up in my happiness to see you had strapped my sister of hers, not anymore, I will be here for my sister now, to get to her you'll have to go through me. " Enid's purple magic started swirling around her hands.
"Guess I do not need a daughter at all," Bard said, gripping his sword and raising,
"Kill me if you must, but I warn you, Thor will come after you with the power of a thousand lightning strikes," Enid said, and as if Thor knew what she had just said, there was the sound of thunder echoing up from the grand hall as Thor put down another opponent.
At Enid's words, Bard hesitated, fear evident in his eyes at the thought of Thor being after him; that hesitation allowed Saphira to get the upper hand as she suddenly jumped up beside him and swung her sword, the one that he had made for her, the blade sliced clean through his neck, it felt like everything was going in slow motion as his head went into the air, flipped around before slamming down on the floor rolling away stopping a few feet away before the body falls to the floor, Saphira and Enid looked at one another in shocked.
"I just...I just killed my father." Saphira said; her hands shook, and she was starting to panic. "I think I'm going to be sick."
Saphira turned from the mess and dropped to her knees, crying and rocking back and forth, the sword still in hand, as she gripped her stomach. Enid rushed to her and settled next to her, and pulled Saphira to her; she buried her face into Enid's shoulder as she ran her hands through her hair, both refusing to look at the mess that lay to their side.
"It's okay, sister," Enid said soothingly. "You had no choice; he would have killed us both."
"I did it for you," Saphira told her, "I couldn't let him hurt you." Enid pulled Saphira closer, and the sisters held onto it each other as they cried.
AN: Hopefully, the chapter was good; it's getting lost in the IW plotline, and the following few chapters should have some action in them, and might even be some gruesome moments, but I'm excited about finally getting to this part of the story.
