Chapter 85: Five Years Later

"Uncle Thor!" A child's voice screamed, and Enid frowned as her three-year-old nephew Narfi came running down the corridor to his uncle, looking scared; Thor picked him up and checked him over for any signs of injuries.

"I don't think he's hurt; you know what gets him scared like that," Enid said; Thor nodded.

"Jormungandr," Thor replied as he and Enid started walking down the corridor, Thor carrying Narfi and Enid holding Meadow's hand; over the last five years, Saphira and Loki have managed to have four more children; Jormungandr, who was four years old, could turn into a snake, and looked exactly like a little boy version of Saphira, head full of copper curls, icy blues eyes, and pointy ears, he already had a jokers side to him, and loved to torment his younger brother Narfi by turning into a snake; Narfi had a phobia of snakes and Jormungandr thought it was funny to tease him about it; Nafri looked just like a miniature Loki, with black hair, green eyes, and the same jawline; he had a twin brother Vali, who was identical to him except for having blue eyes, and they had to dress differently to tell them apart if you didn't go by their eye color; unless you were Saphira, she could tell them apart from a distance without having to look at their eyes. Enid could never figure out how she did it.

And while we are on the topic of Saphira, that was the reason Thor, Enid, and Meadow came to visit; she had just given birth to Loki and Saphira's fifth child, and she finally had a girl; Enid didn't know what they named her or what she looked like yet, they were just called and told they can come to see her now, seventy-eight hours Saphira had been in labor, and Loki told Enid it had been a tough one. However, Saphira seemed to be recovering quickly.

"Hey, guys." Fenrir greeted them as they walked up to the door leading into the healing rooms; he hugged Enid and fist-bumped Thor. "I see you found Narfi; I was just about to come looking for him, had to deal with Jor first."

Fenrir was fourteen now and almost as tall as Enid; he dressed about the same as he always had, even the gloves and nail polish; his hair had grown out a lot more, and the weight made it not as curly, and what curls he did have was now green. Poor kid got stuck watching his brothers every time Loki and Saphira had another one. They were a handful, especially Jormungandr, and none of them ever wanted to listen unless Loki threatened to take away their toys or make them all share a room until they got along. He and Mystique seemed to be the only ones who could make them listen; Saphira didn't even try most of the time; she said she couldn't stand it to have her babies upset with her. Enid told her that was a part of being a mother, but Saphira still wasn't over missing out on so much of Fenrir's life.

"Did you get stuck babysitting again?" Thor asked, sitting Narfi down; he stayed standing next to Thor.

"Yeah, but they said I can go visit the Avengers this weekend," Fenrir said, "Hawkeye said he'll come by next time I visit, so I get something out of it; I hope Morgan Stark isn't there this time."

"She still following you around?" Enid asked while Thor tried not to laugh; ever since he helped during the final battle and did such an excellent job of keeping the gauntlet from Thanos, The Avengers had grown to respect Fenrir, and he got along good with them all, especially Clint Barton and Bucky, and loved to visit them all; Barton and Stark were retired now, but Stark still came to headquarters to check things out a lot, now and then, Barton showed up to see his old friends and teammates, Fenrir enjoyed shooting arrows with him. The remark about Morgan Stark was because, as a ten-year-old girl now, she has recently discovered boys could be good-looking and decided her first crush was on Fenrir; he was four years older than she was and understandably saw her as just a kid. So it annoyed him greatly to be followed around by her and annoyed him. The girl could talk, and according to Fenrir, she never shut up.

"Mom and dad are in there," Fenrir said, "I saw my sister about ten minutes ago; her eyes are red, like a Jotunn; it's a little unnerving; I hope they change when she starts getting older."

"Stop doing that," Vali yelled from a chair against the wall; they looked over at him to see him moving so far over he was almost falling off the chair, while Jormungandr was leaning towards him, doing something.

"Jormungandr, what are you doing?" Enid demanded; Jormungandr moved away from Vali and gave Enid a grin.

"Nothing," He denied.

"He's making those creepy snakey noises again," Vali replied.

"Jormungandr, stop, behave," Enid demanded.

"I swear if mom and dad have any more kids, I'm moving to Asgard," Fenrir replied, opening the door, "Come on, you guys, mom wanted me to get you."

Fenrir had his three younger brothers go in first; he followed, with Enid and Thor behind him. They once talked about having more children, but after seeing how Loki and Saphira's fought and misbehaved all the time, they decided Meadow was enough, at least for now.

When they entered the room, they saw Frigga, Mystique, Kurt, Mantis, Remy, and Rogue were all in the room, passing around a tiny baby with a head full of black hair. Vali and Jormungandr were crawling into bed next to Saphira, who smiled then hugged them; Narfi lifted his arms to Loki, who was standing by the bed and made him pick him up.

"Sister, you're finally here," Saphira said, seeing Enid, "Come see my daughter; I finally got my little girl." Even though Saphira can control what life is formed and who has a baby, she can't control what gender the child is; that was something nature decided, the reason why Saphira had four boys before she got her girl.

"You look terrible," Thor said he was right; Saphira had dark rings under her eyes where she hadn't gotten sleep for days and looked to still be in some pain.

"Aren't you nice?" Saphira said, "You be in labor for three days. See if you look like a beauty queen afterward." She narrowed her eyes, "I can make that happen, you know; I gave Mantis a womb so she and Kurt could have Lily; I bet I could put one in you."

Thor looked over at Mantis, who grinned at him; while Kurt was trying not to laugh, they didn't have Lily with them, so they must have left her with a babysitter; Lily was their six-month-old daughter; she was blue like Kurt, along with a tail, but looked like Mantis with two little antennas on her head. She was adorable, and they weren't the only ones with children Rogue and Remy had a four-year-old son named Oliver and a two-year-old daughter named Rebecca.

"I was the first of my kind to have a baby," Mantis said, "we are usually grown from lava."

"I'll pass on that," Thor replied; everyone laughed at him.

"Then you might want to watch what you say to my wife, Thor," Loki told him.

"When the baby is older, we can do makeovers with her," Meadow said, climbing on the bed next to Saphira's legs; since coming back to life, Meadow and Saphira have grown close, and she loved spending the night with her, and they gave each other makeovers, Meadow was nine and thanks to her Aunt knew how to put makeup on and fix her hair, something Thor was not happy with, he was bet protective of her. Enid wasn't looking forward to her teenage years and when she wanted to start dating.

Enid looked toward Loki, who had sat Narfi in Saphira's lap, and was taking the new baby from Frigga so that he could show Thor and Enid; she was glad she wouldn't be in Saphira's shoes when their daughter got that age; anyone coming around wanting to date her would probably leave their house with a Loki dagger sticking in their ribs.

"Have you three been good for your big brother?" Saphira asked.

"No," Fenrir answered, "They have done nothing but fight, and Jor won't stop doing things that freak out Vali and turn into a snake to scare Narfi."

"I'm sorry, Fen Fen, we'll make it up to you," Saphira said, then turned to the others, "You guys need to learn to behave, stop fighting, and Jorry, stop scaring; your little brothers."

"I'll talk with them all later," Loki replied, handing the baby to Thor as he talked with Fenrir. "Your mother and I appreciate you watching them for the last three days; we know it's not easy. "

"Your father and I have decided you are old enough now to move to a room on another side of the castle so that you can have privacy and not have to put up with the loud noises your siblings make," Saphira told.

"You can have a whole wing to yourself," Loki told him.

"Really?" Fenrir asked, "Thanks, you two are the best."

"We know." Saphira and Loki said at the same time.

"Thor, watch her head, put your am under it," Loki demanded, turning back to him; he was always so afraid of people hurting his babies when holding them for the first time, even after Saphira and he had had five of them.

Enid watched Thor with their niece and thought over the last few years; they were perfect; they've all had their problems, but they were happy despite it all; Loki's plan had worked, and Saphira was able to use the two roots to regrow Asgard to be beautiful and better than ever, and the second one to grow her and Loki their realm, both planets were gorgeous, full of vegetation, and forests full of plant life and creatures Saphira created, along with beautiful gardens everywhere, with the most beautiful flowers and plants, and vegetables and fruit to help provide food, and there Were the poison plants, too; Enid had no idea why Saphira made those, but the ones with the thorns as sharp as a dagger and grew up near any entrance were there as protection just in case someone was up to no good; those plants had minds of their own so that they could act as guards. Saphira and Loki's realm had just two thousand people; it was open to whoever wanted to live here or felt like an outcast or unloved on their homeworld was allowed to come here; the Guardians of the Galaxy even had a place to stay here whenever they wanted to take a break from fighting. Everyone was left alone as long as they followed the laws made by Loki and Saphira, who were considered King and Queen of their realm. And as Saphira promised, there were now kinds of cat-like creatures like Tempest, even different color ones, in both Asgard and Saphira's realm.

"Why are you always mean to your brothers?" Saphira asked Jormungandr, putting her arm around him, and pulling him away from Narfi, where he had started poking and pinching him.

"It's fun." Jormungandr shrugged.

"You and I will talk later," Loki told him.

"Loki, don't be too hard on him," Saphira said as Jormungandr snuggled into her side.

"Darling, you will have to stop thinking they are too young for punishments; they will go up and be out of control," Loki said.

"I don't want my babies mad at me," Saphira replied.

"You are their mother, not a friend." Mystique said, "Having them mad is a sign of being a good mother."

"Unless they are mad at you for tossing you over a waterfall," Remy replied, which got him a smack on the back of the head by Mystique.

"We'll talk about this later when you have your strength back," Loki replied.

Enid turned from them and took the baby in her arms; when Thor handed her, Fenrir was right. She had red eyes, but she was beautiful, even if the eyes were a little scary.

"What did you name her?" Enid asked.

"Hela," Saphira replied; Enid looked up at her with a frown.

"Oh, sister, you didn't?" Enid asked, "Why would you name your daughter that?"

"Because labor was hell, " Saphira replied, "My pregnancy with her was the worst one; I love her lots, but I was miserable through the whole thing stayed freezing and sick, and had no energy. Besides, it's pretty, isn't it?"

"Yes, sister, it's pretty," Enid replied, looking down at her adorable niece. "What's her full name?"

"Hela Mystique Darkhomle-Lokidottir," Saphira announced proudly.

"Sounds like the Avengers, next villain," Thor said; Loki snorted, and Saphira glared at him.

"Perhaps she is, brother." Loki joked, "My daughter might be able to do what I never did and get rid of those pesky heroes."

"Loki." Saphira snapped; he leaned over Vali to kiss Saphira.

"Only joking, love," Loki said, lifting Vali and sitting him on his lap to sit by her; and Narfi decided to join his twin on their father's lap, and Saphira put Jormungandr on hers and parted the spot on the bed next to her.

"Set with us, Fen Fen," Saphira told him; Fenrir rolled his eyes but did sit next to his mother, and Saphira turned to Enid, "Give me my baby for a moment so that someone can take a picture of all of us together, it'll go over the mantel with the other ones." It was a tradition that started when Jormungandr was born; they all got on the bed together with Saphira holding the baby and took a picture; they hung it on the wall over a fireplace in Loki and Saphira's throne room, and they both had a throne to set in.

Enid looked back down at her niece before handing her to Saphira; Hela's red eyes were looking up at her; the baby smiled, Enid could swear her eyes turned completely black for a moment, and she felt a shiver go down her spine.

AN Well, that's the end of the story; I'm going to miss writing it; I might upload one more that's isn't a chapter but lists the, I guess you can call easter eggs I put in some of the chapters, things like dates and whatnot that's a nod to stuff like the first appearance in comics and whatnot. Still, it'll be a while because I'll have to read through the story to find them.
