Disclaimer: I do not own Sailor Moon.
Author's Notes: Don't worry, I haven't abandoned my other fics! But I had to start this one. It starts off in Haruka's POV. (I don't know if I'll switch the POVs for this story like in my others, so we'll see). Just a heads up, the characters may be a bit out of character since this is sort of an alternate universe. This is the prologue.
At school
In all my life this had to be my first. But I had three years…so why did it have to happen now, just before we're to graduate from high school?
With my dark green eyes, I peered over at the giggling group of girls across the hall. My head cocked to one side with my blonde bangs following to obtain a better angle. From here you could barely see her.
In the swarm's center stood absolute calm…
Kaioh Michiru.
Her name instantly came to mind but I wasn't the only one who knew it. Everyone did. Every student and teacher alike knew her name, her face and adored her with well-deserved envy and respect. She was the captain on the senior volleyball, basketball and soccer teams. She was beautiful, graceful, compassionate, modest, an honors rolls student…everything anyone dreamed for. It was as though she had no flaw or equal.
Times like this, I would be content in watching the beauty from afar, wondering the 'what ifs'. Until now, I denied it. I didn't want to believe it. But the truth I've come to grasp is…I love her.
"Haruka." Michiru had somehow broken away from her admirers and headed this way, her aquamarine hair dancing with air. I stood transfixed as she approached; it almost seemed like an impossible dream. Why would she notice me? Compared to her, I'm nothing, maybe lower than trash.
"Hey…" Oh come on, couldn't I say anything better than that? "Umm…Michiru?" I tried again. We both knew what was coming.
"Yes?"
"Say 'no'."
