some amazing things
"ALICE, ITS SOOO GOOD TO SEE YOU!" Keigo cried out, and promptly received a solid whack from Tatsuki.
"Put a -san or something on the end of that!" she complained.
"It's alright I don't mind if he doesn't use them with me." the young woman said.
"That's because you don't realise how rude he's being, talking to you like that is only meant for people you see as inferior, an old, important friend, or someone you are EXTREAMLY close to." her friend replied.
Alice promptly spun around and slapped Keigo across the face.
"Owww, you didn't even ask which one it was!" the brunette boy shrieked.
"It doesn't matter which one it was, your either looking down on me or your having thoughts about me I don't approve of since we haven't know each other quite long enough to be considered old friends." the blonde replied smirking.
"Hey, I've noticed something when we talk, Alice-sans lips aren't making the right shape for the words we're hearing. Can anyone explain that?" Mizuiro suddenly asked.
"Oh that's right; you three never spent any time in Rukongai so you wouldn't know. Souls all speak the same language, or to be more precise we all hear the language we communicate with best. No one knows who made it work, or how, but it completely removes the language barrier for all of soul society."
"Now THAT'S impressive, whoever pulled that off must be one hell of a guy!" Keigo quipped.
"WHAT?! It can't be a woman? It has to be a man does it?" both of the girls argued. Keigo, showing remarkable dexterity, bent and stuck his foot in his mouth.
"Oh for the love of all that's holy hurry up he's coming!" Rukia screeched to her partner as she watched Ichigo approaching.
"I'm trying!" Hinamori replied in as much panic.
The time had come to begin the future sou-taicho's lessons in kido, and to say the pair were winging it would be a mild understatement. The two young women had tried to use every resource they could get their hands on to prepare for today, and it had all fallen through on them. Match his reiatsu signature to a particular kido element? Failed, even Kurotsuchi couldn't find a match. Try and learn high level kido for them to teach him? Failed, neither of them had mastered a kido over 70 to the point they were fully confident with it. Palm it off to someone else? Failed, no one else was desperate enough to want to try. Run for the hills and pray? Failed, Byakuya had cut that one off before they could really get working on it, but he had also turned down their pleaded offer to replace them having his own lessons to prepare. In short there was no plan A and plan B was duck and run. In a last ditch effort the pair had decided to set up a reiatsu control exercise and a target range for later with plenty of reference books around for the three of them.
Ichigo strolled into the room taking a casual look around before commenting: "You have absolutely no idea how we're going to do this, do you?"
"Is it that obvious?" the pair thought simultaneously.
"Look, let's just start and see where we end up shall we?" Rukia said with a sigh "We plan on starting with some simple control exercises; hopefully something will happen to give us a direction from there."
"Alright so what do you want me to do?"
"Kurosaki-dono, if you would please channel your reiryoku into this orb. We were told you used something similar to create the sphere that protected your group as you passed through the barrier of the sekkiseki walls create during your attack on soul society," Hinamori replied, "the goal is to channel power into the orb and keep it there."
"Alright, I'll give it my best shot." the young man answered as he took the glass ball.
Immediately he focused on remembering how he had accomplished that feat the first time, following the instructions of Ganju Shiba.
"Imagine a black circle, as deep a colour as you can imagine, and throw yourself into the centre."
It had an almost immediate effect. The girls backed off as fast as they could to avoid the flickering, jumping mix of black and white reiatsu that appeared around their new pupil like fire that quickly spread to almost engulf the room.
"STOP, STOP I get the idea!" Hinamori shouted.
"Your first time seeing his reiatsu isn't it Hinamori-chan?" Rukia stated as they watched the flames die out.
"He is a monster" the 5th fuku-taicho whispered.
"I don't really know if I would call myself a monster, but I know I'm definitely not normal by any stretch of the imagination." Ichigo answered having heard her quiet comment "But I can very easily become one, so I'm always watching my actions and decisions, doing my best not to set a precedent for myself."
"Why? Everything I've ever heard about you has been good." Momo asked him. For a time Ichigo didn't respond and she was beginning to think he had chosen to ignore her.
"You know I'm always having to fight thugs and gangs back home, don't you?" the small woman nodded "I doubt Yuzu and Karin even remember the first time I really took them on, but I do.
They were just a group of punks who decided to push around a pair of little girls for the hell of it, I doubt they meant any real harm to my sisters but I snapped. Next thing I clearly remember were those punks laying in a heap with way to many injuries and broken bones. All needed intensive hospital treatment, of the five of them two where left in comas for about a week, but what I remember most clearly wasn't the anger or the fight, it was my own sisters hurt and upset faces as they looked at what I had done."
The three stood in silence before Ichigo continued "It wasn't hard to stomp them into the ground and I didn't really care too much about hurting them. But I deeply truly cared about hurting my family with my actions and words. If the first time was so easy then the more I did it the easier it was likely to become and that's a road I fight desperately not to take. I met Chad for the first time a few years later and he only strengthened my commitment to that decision, he had started down that path before his grandfather taught him the same lesson my sisters did me. If you are strong then it's best to use it to protect yourself or others, to fight for a cause you truly believe in, even if that cause is as crass as revenge, anything else is simple violence."
The two instructors were stunned into silent thought at his story, even Rukia had never heard this one, she had always thought it was only to do with the name his mother gave him and her death. Momo Hinamori was completely lost, it didn't help that she saw one of her former mentors philosophies in what the man had said, but there was something in his eyes Aizen had never had, something that compelled her to believe him.
