A Land with No Past.
The siblings ended up in the inside of a forest, with all of them looking confused as they thought that the portal would take them to where Morgan and their father was.
"She's a tricky woman. After we opened the portal, she altered the location before blocking it. She threw us as far away from her castle as she could - Caeli said while she looked around her.
This forest looked different from what they saw back in their home, strange glows surrounded them and stuck to the trees, with the leaves of those being entirely black, some having red markings on them.
"Does anyone know where we are exactly?" - Albion asked before he looked away, seeing a humanoid figure in the distance - "Excuse me, sir, do you know where we...?" -
Before he could finish speaking, the figure jumped at him, revealing itself as a rotting corpse. Before it could touch the boy, Artus cut it in half using his sword.
"We know one thing at least, this place isn't safe. Let's try to find a way out" - Caeli said, acting like the leader of the group, not that her siblings cared.
As they walked in the forest, they found several more rotting corpses, some of them walking around and seeking for something, or someone. The rest of them were in the ground, being eaten by worms and maggots.
"Disgusting..." - Eirian said. Like his mother, he wasn't particularly fond of bugs.
"Swords, lances, bows... There was a battle here, and a recent one by the looks of it, the blood is still fresh" - Gladys mentioned after touching one of the corpses.
"I'm not exactly sure what your definition of recent is, but by the look of the bodies this wasn't..." -
"She's right, Enyd, they're like this because of magic. Someone unleashed a devastating spell and wiped out everything that it touched" - Caeli interrupted her sister's words.
"Do you think it was the other Morgan?" - Artus asked.
"Perhaps, but it's unlikely. Let's just keep moving, we'll find out way out soon" -
As the 6 continued to make their way out of the forest, they overheard someone talking in the distance.
"Gladys, can you?" - Eirian asked, as the girl prepared her weapon.
"Leave it to me" - Using Carnwenhau, Gladys was able to turn invisible and approach the source of the sound.
After coming close to the voices, the girl saw a boy seemingly their age, talking with giant knights clad in black and silver armor. The boy also looked pretty similar to them, with white hair and black points, and light blue eyes. He was dressed in a red and black armor.
"The intruders entered the lands of Camelot in this forest. Find them and kill them, those are Mother's orders" - the boy said before leaving, then the Knights started to search for them.
Gladys then returned with her siblings.
"What happened?" - Enyd asked.
"We're in trouble" -
Now being hunted by those Knights, the siblings had to make a quick plan, and lucky for them, they had just the thing to do, involving Caeli and Gladys.
"Get ready everyone, we're going to play Hide and Seek" -
Using her magical abilities, Caeli amplified Carnwenhau's cloaking abilities, hiding the 6 as they tried to sneak by the Knights looking for them.
They walked slowly and carefully, trying to not accidentally step on a rock and trip, or break a branch and give away their position, something that wasn't easy given the tension that they were in.
They played Hide and Seek with Servants several times in the past, and it was a fun game which they fondly remember, but this wasn't a game. If they were found, they would be killed off, and that thought terrified all of them, Artus and Caeli especially. The two eldest had the duty to protect their little siblings, and if anything happened to them, they wouldn't forgive themselves.
Didn't help that the Knights seemed to be getting more and more members by the minute. What started as a mere 3 Knights suddenly turned into a dozen, then 25, then 50, and now more than 100 were looking for them.
Despite the towering Knights in search of the group, the 6 managed to successfully avoid detection and escape the forest, only to find themselves even more confused as to where they were.
"We got out of one maze and into another one, how fantastic" - Albion said, not amused by their situation.
"Wouldn't call it a maze, because we have a little bit of luck. Look over there" - Artus signaled to the west of their current location, there was a small village that they could visit.
"We'll first need a change of clothes. With luck, they won't know what we look like" - Caeli said as she changed everyone's clothes to their regular clothing, something Morgan taught her.
Following a path, they started to walk towards the village, running into a couple walking in the opposite direction as them, which Artus used as an opportunity to ask about the land where they were.
"Oh, have you all recently arrived?" - the woman said with a smile - "We welcome you to Camelot" -
"Camelot? And where are we exactly?" - Eirian asked next.
"We're in the Valley of the Moon, close to the Twin Lance Mountains" - the man said while pointing at the mountains away from them.
"And is there something like a castle in this Camelot perhaps?" - Enyd asked this time.
"Of course there is, it's the castle of our benevolent Queen Morgan in the center of Camelot. To get to it, you'll need to go pass the Twin Lance Mountains" -
"We'll be making the trip alongside the rest of the village in a few days, there's going to be a huge celebration" -
"Celebration? What kind?" - Albion asked as those words made the siblings nervous.
"The Queen will announce her marriage with her King. We don't know his identity yet, but to be able to marry Queen Morgan, he's the most fortunate in this lands" -
"Indeed. The ceremony will happen in 6 months, but the journey is so long we'll have to depart soon as to arrive in time" -
"Well, thanks for your help kind sirs, we'll be on our way" - Caeli said, worried after hearing that.
Once the couple was away, the siblings reunited to speak before entering the village.
"Would that man be dad?" - Gladys asked while nervously playing with her fingers.
"I'd like to think that it isn't, but... If she came specifically for him, then dad's the one trapped with her" -
"He's not the one there, Albion, he can't be. He has to be somewhere else, he has to..." -
"I'm sorry, Enyd, but... I can faintly feel dad's magical firm, and it's coming from far away from those mountains. I suspect he's trapped in the castle" - Caeli interrupted her sister before she could finish.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get to the castle as fast as we can" - Artus said, but was stopped by Caeli.
"If we rush, we lose. Let's get to the village first and get more information before heading to the castle" -
Artus wanted to argue, but knew that his sister was right, rushing into the castle of the Evil Witch with no plan whatsoever is the worst idea ever.
With that, the siblings made their way towards the village, hoping to learn more about the land where they ended up.
