I do not own Glee or any of the characters created by Ryan Murphy. If I did we would see way more of Shelby. This story will contain spanking of a teenager. If that's not your thing stop reading now and go read something else.

Chapter 23

Rachel couldn't believe the morning she'd had. As if it hadn't been bad enough that Sue Sylvester shared breakfast with them, her mother had informed her the moment Sue left that she was to wait in her bedroom until Shelby came up. There was nothing worse, in Rachel's opinion, than being sent to her room to await the impending doom that was her mother's spanking hand.

Finally giving up on any peace, Rachel threw herself across her bed and pulled a pillow under her body. Trying to let her mind go blank, she was unsuccessful, and wondered just how much longer her mother was going to torture her by making her wait. Pulling her lamb to her, Rachel hugged it close. The lamb had always been with her and it was showing its age for sure. The once bright purple patch on its ear had faded to lavender, and its neck was more floppy than stable now. Knowing that her mother had given it to her made it even more special somehow. Wishing once more that she'd known her mother for her entire life, she hugged the lamb tighter beginning to wish she'd never listened to Santana Lopez.

Hearing the light knock on her door, Rachel sighed and mumbled a reply into her pillow. Hearing footsteps a few moments later Rachel sniffed a bit as she felt her bed dip. "Rachel?" Her mother's gentle voice combined with the rubbing of her back caused Rachel to sniff once more.

"I wish I'd never listened to Santana."

"Well you did, Rachel and now you need to face the consequences of those actions." Patting Rachel's bottom gently Shelby encouraged her to sit up. "I want to talk to you first, Rachel. Come on, sit up, sweetie."

"What is there to talk about?" Rachel asked. "Unless there's a chance that you won't…"

"You are still getting a spanking, Rachel," Shelby announced pulling the girl into a side hug. "I know you don't want one, but you have earned one, Rachel."

"Well it sucks, Mama."

"I want to know what you were thinking, Rachel. What possessed you and Santana to go to your dads' house and break into their liquor cabinet."

"Well, technically the liquor cabinet was open, we didn't have to break into it," Rachel answered.

"Now is not the time to be a smartass, Rachel."

"Sorry Mama."

"Answer my question, Rachel."

"I can't," Rachel protested. "I don't have a good reason. Santana made it sound like fun and I didn't want to go to class that day."

"You're telling me that you honestly skipped class, used Sue as your alibi, and went drinking at your dads' house to avoid class because it sounded like fun."

"Yes that is exactly what I'm saying, Mama."

Shelby sighed, "At least you're honest."

"Why would I lie?" Rachel asked. "I've already been caught and telling you a lie now would serve no purpose other than to make your spanking hand swat me longer I would imagine."

Pinching the bridge of her nose between her thumb and forefinger Shelby shook her head. "Rachel would you have said anything to me about skipping school and going to your dads' house if you hadn't been caught?"

"The truth?"

"I always want you to tell me the truth, Rachel," Shelby confirmed.

"No Mama. I wouldn't have said anything to you and probably would have been thrilled that I managed to do something without getting caught by you since you always seem to catch us no matter what. It's like you have a sixth sense when I'm about to do something you don't think I should do."

"That is because your mama managed to do almost everything you could even think of doing first, Rachel. Have you not been paying attention to the stories my parents have been telling you?"

"Of course I have, Mama." Rachel's voice was exasperated. "But you honestly expect me to believe that you managed to do all of that stuff? I mean disappointing Mrs. Abrams is one thing, but being able to do such things with hair dye…."

"I told them not to ever tell you that story," Shelby grumbled.

"They didn't Aunt Lucy did," Rachel supplied.

"I am going to kill her."

"When do I get to meet Aunt Lucy?" Rachel asked.

"Sometime in the future," Shelby replied. "I am the master of distraction, Rachel. It's not going to work."

"I had to try."

"I know," Shelby kissed Rachel on the top of her head. "Do you understand why I'm so upset with what you did, Rachel?"

"Can't we just get this over with?" Rachel asked. "I mean you left me up here long enough and now you want to prolong it even more by having a heart to heart? Come on, Mama."

"Answer the question, Rachel."

"You're upset because I broke a few school rules, drank underage, was delivered to you by the police, and did not use my best judgment. I imagine there's also something about my safety in there as well."

Shaking her head Shelby pulled Rachel over her lap rather quickly, "Didn't I tell you that now was not the time to be a smartass?" Giving Rachel a hard swat Shelby posed her question again. "Why am I so upset with your behavior?"

"Can I sit up?"

"Nope, this is a perfectly reasonable way for you to answer my question," Shelby replied.

"Mama!" Rachel whined.

"Answer my question, Rachel."

"You're upset because I left school, you didn't know where I was, and drinking like we did was dangerous," Rachel finally responded.

"Good girl," Shelby's hand began to fall after the pronouncement at a steady pace. Rachel began to respond to the spanks by squirming and whimpering over her mother's knee. Her pleading began soon after and an attempt to save her panties came after that as Shelby slowed the spanking long enough to lower them to Rachel's knees.

"Mama no more," Rachel pleaded. "Please!"

Stopping for a moment Shelby surveyed the bright pink bottom in front of her. "You will not do anything like this again, Rachel. Do you understand?"

"Yes Mama," Rachel whined.

"Good, then it's time to finish up here," Shelby announced resuming the spanking. Finally concentrating the last half dozen on Rachel's sit spots Shelby pulled Rachel's panties up gently before moving the girl in an upright position on her lap.

Shelby rocked her body as she comforted Rachel humming softly until the teen had calmed down. "I want you to rest for a little bit, Rachel."

"Will you stay with me?" Rachel whispered.

"Of course." Shelby helped Rachel onto the bed and then grabbed an extra blanket from the closet. Lying down next to her daughter Shelby covered them both with the lightweight throw. Resuming her humming Shelby put her head on her elbow and brushed her fingers through Rachel's hair merely watching and giving comfort as dark eyes finally closed and sleep claimed Rachel for a nap.

"Welcome ladies to the first ever Sue Sylvester Saturday Rehabilitation Clinic." The tall blonde smirked at the looks of fear that quickly passed over her head cheerleader and the small singer faces. "You are going to learn numerous things each Saturday spent with me and I can guarantee that if you ever want to pull another hair brained stunt like you did last week then I will not be your attempted scapegoat or alibi. I will give you better options and you will learn."

Sue motioned for the girls to follow her and they made quick work of leaving her office ending on the track. "First lesson, if you say you want to run to condition yourselves then be sure you can do it. Run."

"Coach?"

"Run Lopez. Now." Sue narrowed her eyes at the girls and they quickly scrambled onto the track without another word. Pulling out her cell phone Sue dialed a number as she watched the girls. "Ethel, it's me. Yeah, they're running. No, I promise no vomiting. I respect that they have to sing and it would be murder on their vocal cords. Really? Ethel Jr. is in that good of shape? Thanks for the heads up. Yeah, see you in an hour. Bring water and snacks. They are going to need it."

***GLEE****GLEE****GLEE***GLEE***GLEE***GLEE***GLEE***

"Santana, I think Coach Sylvester is crazy," Rachel whispered her mouth around the welcome peanut butter granola bar her mother had brought.

"I think you may be right," Santana whispered back finishing off her bottle of water and grabbing another along with an apple. "Though the way she and your mother are talking I think they're comparing notes on ways to do us in without anyone suspecting them."

"That is possible," Rachel nodded. "My mother is well versed on making teenagers fear and respect her without breaking laws. Though I have a feeling that running is not all Coach is going to be teaching us. Did you see the electronic equipment she had out on her desk?"

"No, she can't." Santana's dark eyes met Rachel's. "She's always threatened to teach us how to do it, but I think we're actually going to be taught…"

"Santana, stop, take a deep breath and tell me what you are talking about," Rachel commanded.

"You know how she had the building wired, how she sweeps her office for bugs, and how her parents were world famous Nazi hunters?"

Rachel slowly nodded. "No, she's going to teach us…."

Santana gulped. "Yep, everything she knows. And that means that we…"

"Will know more than any teenager should about illegal activities, blackmail, and using all these things to our advantage. She's going to make us her lackeys, Santana."

"Her what?" the Latina demanded.

"Her henchman, her subordinates in crime, pick a title, just know that we will never be able to pull anything over on her ever again." Rachel finished throwing herself back into the grass.

"You think they've figured it out, Ethel?" Sue asked Shelby as she watched the girls connect the dots.

"I think they have a pretty good idea," Shelby agreed. "I think if we play this right those two will never try to do something that brings them home by the police ever again."

Sue nodded, "I also think the idea that you and Maribel had for teaching the girls the tricks of the trade as it were is a good one. They will know that Sue Sylvester is all seeing and all knowing. And if I am all seeing and all knowing…"

"Then by extension so are Maribel and I," Shelby smirked. "I am so glad my parents didn't have access to anyone like you when I was Rachel's age. It would have made my teen years much less exciting."

Sue snorted, "So I've heard."

"What have you heard, Billie Jean?" Shelby demanded.

"Let's just say there's something about hair dye, a pool, and some stuck up members of an older class."

"How in the hell do you know about that?" Shelby glared at Sue.

"I have my ways, Ethel." Smirking Sue stood and looked down at Shelby. "Next Friday is the last day of school. You and I are going out for an end of the year celebration. I want to hear the whole story from the master." Saying nothing else Sue moved from the bleachers and made her way to the teens on the grass wondering if the vocal coach would share any of her secrets.

Rachel glared at Shelby as the woman put the finishing touches on her makeup. She had enjoyed the last day of school while at school. It would be the last time for at least two weeks that she would be able to see any of her friends and she was once more regretting listening to Santana.

"I still don't see how you can go out tonight," Rachel whined. "Shouldn't we be having our usual Friday movie and Chinese?"

"You are grounded, Rachel. That means no movie," Shelby replied. "However, you can still have the Chinese food."

"How? I mean, if I'm grounded are you really leaving me here alone? Am I coming along?"

"You are not coming along, Rachel." Shelby moved to sit next to her daughter on the bed. "I have gotten you a very special babysitter. Someone that will know anything you try to do before you even think of doing them."

"Sabe and Bubbe?"

"Nope. Someone even better." Shelby's words were punctuated by the doorbell and she stood pulling Rachel with her by the hand. "Come on, I think it's time for you to meet her."

Opening the door Shelby's smile filled her face. "I am so glad to see you!" Pulling the woman into a hug Shelby then moved aside and closed the door.

"Rachel this is your Aunt Lucy. Lucy, this is my Rachel."

"Holy crap, Shelbs, did you spit her out like that? She is your mini-you."

"Excuse me," Rachel stepped forward and eyed the dark haired woman in front of her. Lucy was a little taller than Shelby and had bright green eyes, but the resemblance to her mother was there and it was obvious that Lucy and Shelby were sisters. "I am standing right here, you know."

"Oh I am aware of that, mini-Shelbs," Lucy teased. "Where do you want me to put my suitcase?"

"Your usual room," Shelby replied picking up the suitcase and handing it to Rachel. "Rachel go put this in the guest room."

"Why do I have to do it? Can't she carry her own luggage?" Rachel whined.

"Now Rachel."

"Fine," Rachel picked up the suitcase and yelped as a quick swat found her bottom.

"And drop the attitude," Shelby added.

Scooting away from her mother and her mother's swatting hand, Rachel mumbled under her breath as she carried her aunt's small suitcase up the stairs and towards the guest room.

Laughing heartily Lucy eyed her older sister. "Oh Shelbs, she is all you. I love it."

"She has her moments," Shelby agreed. "And when I get home you and I are going to talk before I kill you about telling Rachel the hair dye story."

Lucy laughed again hugging her sister. "Oh my dear sister, that is not the only thing I have told that beautiful carbon copy."

"Lucy," Shelby's voice was dangerous.

"Nope. That voice doesn't work on me, remember. I'm immune to the Shelby Corcoran 'I am going to kick your ass' voice."

"I know," Shelby shook her head as they sat down in on the couch. "And I've never understood how you are immune to it, please explain."

"It's easy," Lucy shrugged. "I knew that Mom and Daddy would blister your butt if you really tried to kick my ass."

"Mama?" Rachel's voice interrupted Shelby's retort. "Aunt Lucy's suitcase is now in the guest room. Do you think it's possible to at least order the Chinese food now before I starve to death or are the two of you going to compare notes on growing up a bit longer?"

"Let's order the food," Lucy interrupted. "I'll tell you what I like and you can order it, Rachel."

"She's grounded, Lucy."

"So?"

"That means no using the phone," Shelby looked at her sister pointedly.

"Come on, Shelbs. Seriously? You went all Mom on her for groundings?"

"Apparently she had a lot of experience being grounded in her youth and finds it fitting to pass along the traditions she encountered then," Rachel piped up causing Lucy to laugh again.

"You and I are going to have fun tonight, Rachel. Come on, show me the menu and I'll order the food. Then we can tease Shelby until this cheerleading coach shows up."

Smiling up at her aunt Rachel nodded, "I think we're really going to get along, Aunt Lucy," she quipped smiling as she heard her mother groan from her spot on the couch.

***GLEE****GLEE****GLEE***GLEE***GLEE***GLEE***GLEE***

"So that was the infamous Sue Sylvester, huh?" Lucy popped the last bite of eggroll into her mouth. "Quite the interesting woman though I'm still confused how she and Shelby are friends."

"That's what we're all confused about," Rachel admitted putting her now empty plate on the coffee table. "I mean Mama has quite the reputation as the coach for Vocal Adrenaline. Not many know how to use metal underwear so effectively. But Sue Sylvester is right up there in reputation with her cheerleaders. I mean the Cheerios are as big of champs as VA and Coach Sylvester has been known to use cannons."

"Still," Lucy picked up the remote and smiled at Rachel. "It's a strange pairing."

"It is and every time they get together they come home drunk and end up in bed together."

"What?!" Lucy turned and eyed Rachel. "Shelby is sleeping with her?"

Understanding overcame Rachel and she groaned, "Ewww, not like that. They're not having sex. At least they don't think they are…" Rachel trailed off. "It's just every time Sue and Mama have done something together Sue ends up having breakfast here and Mama seems thoughtful for the rest of the day."

"Hmmm." Lucy focused on the TV once more. "Okay, Rach, what's it going to be? Musical, horror, comedy, drama?"

"I'm grounded."

"Yep. So which movie do you want to watch?" Lucy asked once more. "I will watch anything except for Funny Girl," holding up her hand she shrugged. "Shelby forced me to watch that far too often growing up and I am sorry, Rachel, but no Funny Girl tonight."

"I can respect that, Aunt Lucy," Rachel replied. "Especially since you're letting me watch a movie during my grounding."

"You're grounded?" Lucy feigned ignorance. "Surely my lovely niece didn't do anything to cause her to get grounded."

"Nope. I didn't do anything," Rachel played along grabbing a movie and putting it in the DVD player. But I hear that Mama did quite a lot when she was my age. Have any stories?"

"I might," Lucy patted the couch next to her. "Come sit by your old Aunt Lucy and let me tell you a few tales while we watch… Frozen? Seriously Rachel, Frozen?"

"Yep," the teen grinned at her aunt. "I love this movie and I thought it might inspire you to tell me some really good stories about growing up with Mama."

Lucy pulled Rachel into a hug and kissed her on the temple. "I just might be able to accommodate you my little mini-Shelbs."

***GLEE****GLEE****GLEE***GLEE***GLEE***GLEE***GLEE***

"Shh you need to be quiet," Shelby admonished as she and Sue climbed the stairs towards her bedroom.

"I'm not the one falling over her own feet," Sue slurred back. "Though I am enjoying your ass in my face each time you fall."

Giggling Shelby stopped and wiggled her backside in front of Sue. "Like what you see, Billie Jean?"

"I said I did, Ethel. Were you not listening?" Sue swatted Shelby's bottom causing Shelby to yelp.

"Not so hard," she hissed. "I may have gone to school for theatre but even I know you don't do that too publicly."

"You put a nice ass in my face and I'm going to eventually swat it, Ethel."

"Oh?" Shelby stopped on the landing and bent over. "And what do you do if she does this?" Sliding her pants down Shelby mooned Sue briefly before pulling her pants up once more and then tripping as she tried to turn around.

"Let's get to your room and I'll show you what I do," Sue replied steadying Shelby as much as she could before leading them both to Shelby's room on rather unsteady feet.
