Disclaimer : Neither the characters/universe nor (to be honest) the idea are mine.. this story is VERY STRONGLY influenced by Blossie's "Ring Ring", but you know me, I have to see how much damage I can do to a good story and still get away with it..

The idea of being late is Blossie's, the whole finding theory is Blossie's.. almost all of it is hers, except the ending :))

I'm really a Babe fan, but I got this idea in my head while I was shopping, and I became obsessed. You know the drill. And don't worry, I'm still working on Ben & Jerry's.. I just had to write this down before it totally slipped out of my head.

Here we gooo

Stephanie and Joe were late.

Like, seriously late. They were expected to be at Stephanie's parents five minutes ago, and Stephanie could not, for the life of her, find her favorite shirt.

Dessert or no dessert, she had to have that damn shirt.

"Dammit," she muttered, opening up drawers at random.

Her underwear drawer -- No.

Her not-to-be-worn-out-of-the-house drawer -- No.

Joe's shirt drawer -- No.

She jumped up and ran down stairs and looked in both the washer and the dryer. Nope.

She ran back up and opened every drawer in the room.

When she opened up Joe's underwear drawer she discovered a small box in front of her.

She picked it up slowly, turning the box around and around in her hands. She knew what was inside of it, from the size of the container.

Slowly, forgetting about how outraged her mother would be, she opened the box.

She said nothing as she picked up the circle-with-no-middle that was rested snugly inside of the box. It was perfect, but was it meant for --

no, of course, surely not. But then, why was Joe hiding it?

She held it up, examining it fully. Every inch, every curve was absolute.

It was obviously not meant for Joe, because it just wasn't his type.

But.. did that mean it was meant for --

"Cupcake," called out Joe, stomping into the room, "Your mother will already be asking Grandma Bella to put the eye on us-"

He stopped when he saw what was in her hand.

"Um," she said, looking down at it.

"I didn't really want you to see that," he said softly, crossing the room.

He took it from her and mimicked her earlier actions, turning it in his hands.

"I was going to surprise you," he said, "but.. well, seeing how you already saw it.."

Stephanie said nothing, but slowly started smiling.

Joe smiled as well as he replaced it in its box, then handed it to Steph.

"We can pick more up along the way," he said, handing her the Dunkin Donuts box.

I hope the ending was clear enough.. if not then.. explaining it would ruin the whole thing.. so just.. humor me, K? Consider this a parody of "Ring Ring" by Blossie.. i dunno.. just don't sue me for it, and I'll behappy.To0dLeZ
